So honest moment here, I've only read the 4th & 5th book in this series prior to this one. I really liked those books but hadn't had time yet to get to the first 3 before reading this one. Even though I've only read half of them, I'm gonna miss this series. I look forward to going back and reading the ones I missed. I loved getting Beast's story. it was just what I needed for him. There was a slow burn to it but I would have liked to get some kinda conflict earlier than what we did. Other than that I enjoyed this book a lot. The epilogue was worth the read alone. Do not miss it!

Althea lost everything when her father was accused of treason. Now living in the rookeries and waiting tables, she is no longer living the life she did as the daughter of a duke. When she is approached by a man she only knows by sight with a proposition, she turns him down flat without hearing what the proposition is...there is only one kind of proposition men give women of her current station and it isn't one that she wants to consider.

Benedict knows that Althea doesn't belong where she is the first time them met. He decides to give her the opportunity to get out of the situation she finds herself in, but it is not the proposition she thinks it is. He wants her to tutor the woman he watches over, so that they can move on to more proper positions and make a better life for themselves.

When Althea turned down Benedict's offer without even hearing what it was, he never imagined he would see her again. But she shows up, hears his offer and accepts, but with conditions of her own. She wants him to teach her how to seduce a man. She wants to be in control of her future and sees this as the way out. What neither counted on was the temptation this would be on both of them. Can this attraction turn into something much more permanent?

I absolutely adored Althea and Benedict's story!! I just loved the two of them together!! I loved watching Benedict opening up to Althea as they got closer to one another. I also loved watching Althea become a stronger woman because of the circumstances that she had gone through. Love, Love,, Love!!

Lorraine Heath is a new to me author (well, I've seen her books for years, but I've never picked one up). When I saw that this book was the 6th book in the series, I had to pick up the others so that I could read them before this one. I'm so glad that I did!! This series was amazing!! I couldn't put the books down and ended up reading about 1 book a day (many a late nights)! I'm definitely going to have to find time to read her back list!!

Benedict/Ben “Beast” Trewlove has always been the most mysterious of the Trewlove siblings, throughout the series we have had glimpses of him and heard things, but we never really got to know him. For me, questions began to pile up, why does he live in a brothel? Why do they call him Beast? What does he do? Well, the wait is over and we will finally learn the answers to all these questions and more!

Miss Althea Stanwick’s life has taken a drastic turn for the worse, she was Lady Althea Stanwick the only daughter of the Duke of Wolfford until he plotted to assassinate the Queen and was charged with treason and hanged for his crimes. His family was stripped of their titles, properties and society turned their backs on them. If this was not bad enough Althea’s betrothed the Earl of Chadbourne publicly shames her by turning his back on her, as does everyone else, the embarrassment is too much for her mother, who rapidly declines and passes away. With no options and no allies, the Stanwick siblings move to Whitechapel and Althea gets a job at Gillie’s pub. It is there that she meets Beast.

Beast knows she doesn’t belong in Whitechapel and is intrigued by her. He follows her when she leaves and sees her meet a man, assumes she is safe and goes home. Home for him is a brothel, he never planned to own a brothel and would dearly love to get rid of it, but his guilt from the past and his protective nature will not allow him to close the doors and leave the “girls” to the streets. He escapes to his study and tries to put Althea out of his mind and work on his newest murder mystery novel – his first book recently published and he is eager to write the next one. But tonight, the words won’t come and he begins to wonder if Althea could be the answer to his brothel dilemma – maybe he could hire her to teach the girls to be more refined and find jobs for them. He returns to Gillie’s and tries to offer her the position – she grossly misunderstands and refuses to even hear what he has to say.

Althea is shocked, she thinks he was asking her to be his mistress. That night her brother Griffith is late to walk her home and when he does show up, he is secretive. She knows her older brother Marcus has gone underground to try and find the other men who plotted with their and hopefully restore their family honor, she also knows that Griffith wants to go with him, but has been left to watch over her. It isn’t until she is attacked on her way home another night and saved be Beast that she begins to reconsider her options. She decides that she will become a courtesan and who better to teach her than a man who owns a brothel? She visits him and learns what he really wanted to hire her for – she agrees, but wants him to teach her how to become a seductress. They come to an agreement and Althea moves into the brothel – much to her brother’s dismay. She explains what she is doing and that by living there, Griffith is free to join Marcus and doesn’t have to worry about her.

Beast and Althea become close, she is delighted to learn that he is an author and is fascinated by his life and impressed with all he has accomplished. Slowly they fall in love and she knows that she will never be able to be a courtesan and tells Beast that she has fallen in love with him. He loves her too, he proposes and she accepts, but almost immediately their dream of HEA is shattered when the truth of Beast’s birth comes knocking on the door.

I just loved this book so much, as always, the writing is great, the book flows and holds the reader in thrall until the very last word. But this book felt even more poignant than the previous books, all of the siblings have had hurdles to clear before their happy endings, but Beast, whose heart is the biggest, seemed to have a mountain to conquer to win his love. This book was filled with emotion, steamy love scenes, cameos from the other Trewloves, a few laughs, shocking revelations, a bit of revenge, a hero with a huge heart, a lovely declaration scene and an absolutely wonderful epilogue make this book my favorite in the series. This is the last book in the series, but it could easily be read as a standalone title. And while it is the last in this series, it gives us a peek at a new series featuring Althea’s brothers!! I loved this book and most enthusiastically recommend this title to fellow historical romance lovers!

I love a good Beauty and the Beast retelling and this one hit all the right spots! Althea and Beast first meet when he comes into the tavern where she’s working as a waitress. She and her brothers lost everything after their father was found guilty of treason and executed.

I don’t want to give much of the story away because I really appreciated letting it unfold - but I will say Beast’s library has a part and isn’t that one of the best parts? I swoon for a beautiful library.

I recommend this if you enjoy a Beauty & the Beast story and are okay with some heavier/darker topics being included as well. While this is the 6th book in the series, I jumped in here and it can definitely be read alone but I’m looking forward to going back and reading the other Trewlove books.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance review copy.

Beauty Tempts the Beast by Lorraine Heath is book 6 in the Sins for All Seasons Series. This is the story of Benedict 'Beast ' Trewlove and Althea 'Thea' Stanwick. I have read the previous books but feel this is a standalone book. Thea has fallen on hard times and is no longer the privileged young women of the town. So she finds herself working at the Mermaid and Unicorn bar. There she meets Beast who is a leader in the dark underworld. They end up talking and Thea comes up with the thought that if Beast could train her she could become a mistress. Being a mistress would allow her to enter back into her world of course as a different part of society and to bring back money. Beast doesn't feel that she is suited for his dark world but he can't seem to stop the growing feelings for her...nor she to him.
Enjoyed their story.

Just a wonderful book and a wonderful conclusion to the series. I loved the relationship between the hero and heroine. Their attraction to each other was deep and genuine. I love how they talked things out when conflict arose. I love that the misunderstandings/misrepresentations were fairly quickly resolved. I loved the family connections between Ben and his foundling brothers and sisters. Plus, Ms. Heath has tickled our curiosity about the next series featuring the heroine's brothers. Just a really excellent book.

A good story, with a nice low stakes romance.

This is the final book in the Trewlove series, and while this book can serve as a standalone, I would at least recommend reading the previous two books in the series. I’ll be honest I warred with myself during this book between wanting more external conflict for the characters to face and enjoying the subtle external conflict mixed with heavy internal conflict. But I may be getting ahead of myself.

We have our heroine, Althea Stanwick, disgraced and stripped of her status since her father betrayed the monarchy by trying to kill the Queen. Heavy stuff. Althea is relegated to a near non-existence, until she starts working at a local tavern to earn money. She hates feeling so useless. Of course, here is where she meets our hero, Benedict Trewlove, otherwise known as the Beast of Whitechapel.

Beast is probably my favorite Trewlove, next to Fancy. He’s got this air of mystery wrapped up in a big package. Described as a hulking figure, he could easily be muscle only, but the man has brains for days. He’s well-read, self-conscience and thinks heavily before he speaks or acts. Beast immediately knows Althea doesn’t belong in his world, but how she got there bugs him to the point that he must get involved. He wants her to find her way in life, the same way he helps other ladies… by giving them chances to learn trades and escape.

These two embark on a business agreement that goes all wonky because of the attraction Beast feels for Althea and an equal amount of interest on her part. This is where it gets delicious and super slow burn. The adventure truly starts with a library, then a wager, and we all know a wager never ends well.

If you’re looking for low stakes fluff of falling in love, this book is for you. I enjoyed it, though something still niggles at the back of my brain. I wanted more somehow, and more punishment against those who hurt Althea. Though Beast does help her get as much as she can back, and helps he find her own way. This story doesn’t have a lot of ticking time bombs, but it’s a nice evenly paced story and my interest in the characters kept the pages turning.

Overall, Heath concluded the Truelove series successfully and nicely sets up a new series. I’m already interested in those next books and will be on the lookout. Though, I’ll miss the Trueloves and their rapscallion natures.

I have to contain myself from gushing over this hero, this this book, and this entire series!

The patchwork family of the Trewlove's is a force to behold. Seeing how each sibling overcame their start in life, directly as a result of the love they had for one another, was beautiful. While the story focused on Benedict Trewlove, the entire fami!y of course, made an appearance.

Reluctantly running a brothel, Benedict Trewlove, known as the Beast, sees a way out by hiring Althea Stanwick to teach the women in his care a new trade. Anthea has been hit by hard times. Set to be the darling of the Ton, life threw her a curveball when her father's fall from grace left her destitute, She plans a scandalous way back into Society with some assistance and steamy lessons from Benedict.

Benedict is the most upstanding and good-hearted man ever. He is at the ready to defend anyone who is vulnerable. There were many times he had me close to tears with his unbelievable goodness. The scene with Robin and the painting was one of the best and it only continued with the ball and then the epilogue.

This is a keeper and will be on my re-read shelf whenever a feel good historical romance fix is in order. Amazing!

This romance was really lovely. While reading other books in this series, I was always intrigued by Benedict "Beast" Trewlove, as he was the quiet, brooding presence throughout, and I was very happy to have him get his chance at love. I enjoyed the strength and resilience of both characters, with Benedict overcoming his lowly beginnings with the help of his chosen family and Althea Stanwick overcoming her difficult present after losing everything in life (her station, wealth and possessions, friends, fiancee, and parents) when her father is found to be a traitor by plotting the assassination of the Queen. It was really sweet how the characters fell in love and weren't hesitant to share there feelings with each other despite the other troubles still standing in their way. On a final note, I am curious where the story of Althea's brothers goes next in the Once Upon a Dukedom series.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley for an honest review.

Althea Stanwick was a perfect lady until her father the Duke committed treason against the crown. The family lost everything, their lands, their wealth and their way of life. Now living in Whitechapel she earns her living until “Beast” propositions her. He wants her to teach the ladies he know about refinement and manners so they can hopefully get self-respecting jobs like a companion or governess. What he doesn’t expect is she has her own bargain in mind for him to teach her to be a courtesan. A bargain he has trouble keeping, he becomes very protective of her, trying to keep his thought and feeling from intruding and getting in the way of their. I love them they are perfect for each other, both needing unconditional love and respect. I have voluntarily read and reviewed the excellent book.

Wowzas! A fantastic romance by the amazingly talented Lorraine Heath. This story beautifully showcased the family and other characters from the series while writing an utterly unique and devastatingly romantic story. A wonderful romance, I am eagerly (as always) awaiting Lorraine Heath's next book!

Beauty Tempts the Beast is the sixth book in the Sins for All Seasons series by Lorraine Heath. A steamy romance that is sure to keep you turning the pages wanting more. While this is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone novel. However, once you read Beauty Tempts the Beast, you will fall in love with the series and want to read the previous books.

I'm just going to call it now...

Favorite Romance of 2020

Althea Stanwick, on the cusp of marrying a lord, loses everything because of her father's treasonous actions, friends, fortune, respectability, and her faith in people. Now she doesn't know where she fits in, but decides that becoming a courtesan for a wealthy lord will be her ticket back into Society on her terms. Benedict (Beast) Trewlove, although a bastard of unknown parentage, knows exactly where he belongs. His adoptive family is loving and loyal, and he owns a brothel for the sole purpose of being able to protect the women who chose that life from the harsher aspects of that life. The two strike a bargain, Althea will train the women in the brothel to become more refined so they can find more respectable work and Beast will finally be able to close the brothel, and in return he will teach Althea how to seduce men.

I absolutely adored everything about this book. If I wasn't smiling uncontrollably, I was tearing up or down right sobbing. Althea is an absolute gem. After being deeply hurt by her former friends and fiance, she finds trusting others doesn't come naturally. Even still, she remains kind to others and tries to help her brother's financially by getting a job in a bar. Beast, although feared by many in Whitechapel, the only people who really need fear him are those harming women. He has an incredible sense of honor and does his best to help women who have not been given many options in life. Beast was so sweet and thoughtful that I was constantly smiling as he treated Althea with a respect that she forgot people could show.

This was my first Lorraine Heath book, but I fully intend of reading all the Trewlove books in the near future. I need to know every one of these characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed Beauty Tempts the Beast! The chemistry between Thea and Ben is undeniable and I was so happy to see Beast find true love. This was a sweet, slow burn and I savored every page. And that epilogue was perfection! Sad to see this series end but I"m looking forward to reading about Thea's brothers.

This is the final book in this series but it can be read as a stand-alone. Althea went from the ton darling to a ton outcast when her family was ruined. She has a plan however and she will need to learn some skills only a Beast can teach her and that is why she makes her proposal to Ben. Fast-paced steamy historical read with loads of drama and suspense. Great chemistry and entertaining characters. I liked it.

I have been waiting for this book since the first mention of Beast. Any hero named Beast is a hero I want to know everything about. This book did not disappoint! Beast aka Benedict Trewlove, doesn't know who his parents are. He was dropped off at a baby farmer that decided to keep him (along with many others). Beast has watched his adoptive brothers and sisters find love and family. He feels lonely.. That's when he notices that the new barmaid doesn't belong. Althea (Thea) Stanwick was kicked out of her home in the middle of the night and found work as a barmaid.

I loved these two. Thea was very headstrong. She decided that she didn't want to belong to any man.. so she fought her attraction to Ben. Ben has always been one of my favorite of the Trewlove siblings. He just seemed so sweet! I loved that he got his HEA... even if Thea wasn't exactly what I wanted for him.

Thank you netgalley for my copy!

Althea and her brothers have fallen on hard times. Where they once enjoyed the perks of being the children of a Duke, they are now forced to live in the seedier side of Whitechapel after their father's treasonous actions. Althea is presented with an opportunity too good to pass up and must trust Benedict "Beast" Trewlove with her future.

He owns a brothel entirely by accident and wants a tutor for the working girls to seek other employment before he closes down. Althea might be the perfect candidate for the job, but that's not all she wants. She has decided that she would rather learn to be the most skilled courtesan than to ever return to the ton (as her brothers are attempting to do by clearing their name).

While I really enjoyed Benedict's character and wanted to absolutely bask in his cinnamon roll hero personality, the combustible chemistry that I associate with a Lorraine Heath romance was lacking. There were some really hot scenes, but I didn't really feel a deeper connection between Benedict and Althea.

This is the last book in the Sins for All Seasons series and features the last Trewlove sibling, Benedict aka Beast.

If you’ve read the previous five installments then you know that the Trewloves were all (except for Fancy) taken in as infants by Mama Trewlove and given a good and loving, but poor home. Beast doesn’t know who his parents are or why he was given up as a baby. He’s grown up to be a big, strong, loyal man and protector. In theory, he owns a brothel…. but he really doesn’t. He’s just there to keep a promise and protect the women who work there and hopefully help them find a way to a better life eventually.

Althea Stanwick has lived her whole life in the lap of privilege. That is until her father is branded a traitor and hanged. Now she and her brothers are destitute and living day to day on the income they can earn on the docks or serving drinks in a tavern. She meets Beast one evening at work and soon discovers his protective instincts now include keeping her safe.

I liked this couple. I really did. They have an unusual courtship, but it worked for me. There is a whole lot of respect and consent between them and that really worked for me. Beast is determined to do the right thing, regardless of how much he wants Althea, but I liked that he listened to her and didn’t steamroll over her opinions and decisions. Of course, their HEA is delayed a bit by a big surprise toward the end, but don’t be too worried, it doesn’t take them long to figure it all out.

I was thankful for the epilogue and getting to check-in with everyone years later, enjoying the holidays as one big, happy family. The next series by this author will feature Althea’s brothers and I am super excited.

Beauty Tempts the Beast is the final book in the Sins for All Seasons series and while I didn't read the previous books it read fine as a stand alone. I thought this book was ok. For starters I didn't like Althea. She is a proper young lady who needs to reinvent herself after her fathers betrayal that left her and her brothers outcast. Benedict is basically a kind hearted pimp who doesn't take money for the ladies who entertain in the home they all live in. He has helped all the woman to get new jobs but the ones left are a little harder. His idea is to have Althea train them in how to be respectable young woman. Althea's idea is she wants to be a Mistress and strikes a deal with Benedict for him to train her. Honestly the whole idea of the story was just not for me.

Althea Stanwick is a woman with a plan— after an abrupt fall from grace (and the aristocracy) following her Ducal father’s traitorous scheme to kill the queen, she’s through relying on the men. When an offer of employment teaching manners & comportment to sex workers lands in her lap, Althea is pumped 👏🏼 Not only is the pay incredible (and her employer Benedict “Beast” Trewlove isn’t too bad to look at either😉) but it dovetails quite nicely with her plan to become financially independent & return to society on her OWN terms by way of becoming a courtesan. Althea agrees to work for Beast ~only if~ he will school her in the ways of seduction.

THIS BOOK Y’ALL!!!

I loved so much about Beauty Tamed the Beast! I’m on the record saying i like my hero brawny, broody & grunty, and Benedict NAILS THIS🥵 and Althea!! She’s clever, opinionated, and determined to be the master of her fate. I loved her work ethic, her ambition, and the way she just *took* what she wanted💜 Their chemistry was off the charts, their banter was delicious, and their HEA was deeply satisfying

I also loved that I could just f e e l the seeds of a new series coming on— the mystery with her brothers trying to clear their name is ~very~ intriguing and i want to know more!!

All in all, a most fantastic book from Lorraine Heath as per usual!! This book comes out tomorrow and I highly recommend you snag a copy🙏🏻 thank you so much to Negalley, Avon, and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review
