This book has all the elements that usually make me love a book, a small town where everyone knows everyone else, an old love that has come back to down, delightful side characters. Sydney Flynn is staying with her uncle at Starlight Cottage while trying to get her life back together after a divorce. She's just starting to make some strides with getting back to the writing career she had always dreamed of, and settling into life as a single mother to her son, when her first love Nate Henderson comes back to town. I really liked Sydney's interactions with everyone except Nate. I just didn't see much chemistry between them and I found myself frustrated with their conversations more than anything else. But I did still really like a lot of the other characters. This wasn't an awful book, but it didn't live up to my expectations after how much I loved some of the author's previous books.

So, just when you think this series can’t get any better, Jenny Hale proves you wrong. I absolutely loved this book. It immediately pulls you in to the sand and the surf. This is such a page turner, I couldn’t put it down. I loved the flow of this story, the romance is as warm and toasty as the summer sun. I feel as if Sydney and Nate are close personal friends that I would want to hang out at the beach with. I highly recommend this book and all books by this author, I promise you will be hooked.

This would make for a nice, light beach read. Though I do have to say the story had moments of me saying “get on with it already!” But, with that said, I rather enjoyed this cozy feel good kind of story. This is a story of young love gone awry and overcoming past mistakes.
The main characters, Sydney and Nate, are very likeable and I love how their relationship matures as they mature.
This is my first Jenny Hale book and I hope to get a chance to read more of her books in the future.
Many thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture and author, Jenny Hale, for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

"The House on Firefly Beach" is a perfect Summer beach read! It was easy to fall in love with Nathan and Sydney but it was Uncle Hank who really stole my heart. This book is not only a love story, but a story of family and fighting for what you believe it. From heartbreak to a happily-ever-after, this must read book will grab your attention from the first page and hold it until the end.

The House on Firefly Beachis book two of Jenny Hale’s Firefly beach series. I really recommend reading book one, because it’s wonderful ;).

I was really happy to see that Sydney is the main character in this book. I fell in love with her son Robby in book 1 already. Sydney Starlight Cottage on Firefly Beach is home. Her family is there, she’s at the beach and it the perfect place for a fresh start.

The story starts with Hallie’s and Ben’s wedding. This is where Sydney meets the love of her life Nate again. A lot has happened since they last saw each other. He left her and start a career as a famous musician. They were inseparable, inspired each other to write (she a writer) and shared many wonderful moments together.

Well, that was a long time ago. He has a new life now, he’s famous and she is divorced and has a son. She still hasn’t forgiven him. He desperately wants to explain himself, but it’s easier said than done, especially since he took his “girlfriend”Juliana with him as well.

Nate and Robby start to bond immediately though and the chemistry between Sydney and Nate is undeniable. I love how Jenny Hale captured their unique connection. And then there is a new development that threatens Starlight Cottage. Nate might even be involved with it.

I was happy to see that Sydney started writing again and there is a great little gem in the storyline connected to it.

I was hooked to the story from the start. I fell in love with the main characters and the setting. Firefly beach is amazing and I love how Jenny Hale created such a beautiful setting with lots of details. I felt like being there with all of them. She also managed to include plenty of emotions and feelings, which made me feel really close to Sydney.

It’s a book full of love, passion, trust, family and so much more. Every characters got part of his/her story shared as well and the ending is absolutely amazing.

Jenny Hale’s writing is full of depth, very detailed, fresh and full of wonderful moments.

WOW!

Such a fun great beach read! Loved this book from the first page and wished the entire time I was sitting on the beach enjoying it. First book by Jenny Hale, but will definitely not be my last.

The House on Firefly Beach is a wonderful book if you’re looking for a beach getaway. The author describes Firefly Beach in such great and beautiful detail, that you feel like you’re right there! I didn’t particularly care for this book. I felt annoyed with the main character at times because she never gave her love interest an opportunity to explain himself. However, it was a nice light read with a happy ending.

I couldn’t get into this one. The storyline just felt too slow and characters felt like they were going in a circle. It seemed like there was potential with the main characters but it fell flat. Skimmed the rest of the book after 25%

Emotional and captivating.

This book is the perfect escapist summer read. It has a little angst, some bitter-sweet moments, a big and friendly community, and a second-chance romance taking place by the turquoise waters of Firefly Beach.

Sydney Flynn is back to her family's summer retreat, divorced and unemployed. All her goals and dreams were crushed, and she is trying to figure out how to move on.

Things get more complicated when the men that ruthlessly abandoned her years ago comes back to town. Nate Henderson is not the boy she once fell in love with anymore. He is Nate Carr now, a famous and rich songwriter who dates models and invests in real estate.

Nate is not easy to love, but he slowly grew on me. His relationship with Sidney's son earned him some extra points in my esteem.

My heart went for Sidney. I could feel her angst and pain. The situation she was in was so impossible. I liked how the author depicted her vulnerability without making her weak.

This was an emotional and engrossing read. I'm looking forward to reading more books in this series.

Disclosure: I received an ARC of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I wanted to throw my Kindle against the wall SO many times while reading this book! The constant miscommunication between Nate and Sydney was ridiculous! If he had just said something, ANYTHING, and/or if she had just ASKED at some point during the last decade.... ugh.
I wanted to love this book. I am a sucker for second chance romance, and the setting of Firefly Beach was amazing. I could picture every bit of it, and I wanted to be there. The storyline was decent, but the neverending misunderstandings made the two main characters seem very immature.

Love this style of book, my favourite genre and this book does not disappoint.

First loves sometimes don't last but they're never forgotten.

Throughout this book I love the build up and the continuation of the connection between Nate and Sydney.

The first time Sydney see Nate again at her own sister's wedding, you can really the awkwardness she is feeling towards seeing him again after he broke her heart.

I love the connection Sydney has to her aunt and uncle and mum, these are relationships I would aspire to have with my own family.

Then things happen at the end (I shall not spoil) but it was a shock and I love a good shock in a book.

I couldn't put this book down it was so easy to follow and really pulls you into it.

I was even more excited to find out there was another book 'Summer at firefly beach'

I love the sound of firefly beach sounds like a little piece of heaven.

I received an ARC from NetGalley for my honest opinion. It was a book that was really nice to read with all that is going on in the world today.
Sydney and Nate were high school sweethearts and Sydney thought they would get married. Instead, Nate just ended the relationship and took off. Years later at her sister's wedding, she sees Nate once again. She still loves him but the hurt she has carried with her since he left is deep. He becomes her son's coach and spends quite a little bit of time with her son. As time goes by Sydney starts to write again and her job is helping people. You really do need to read the book to see what happens with that.
There is a lot of heart in this book and some soul searching. I am happy that I read the book and there were some things you thought might be happening and some surprises too. It had much more depth than I thought it would have.

A good beach read. Typical cyclical story of like him, hate him, like him, hate him, and a predictable story line overall, but nice and light read for this time.

Having read and enjoyed the first Firefly Beach book I was looking forward to reading this one.

Sydney has returned to Firefly Beach to look after Uncle Hank; with her young son Robbie in tow she is trying to restart her life after a messy divorce. At her sister Hallie’s wedding she spies old boyfriend Nate, he was the love of her life and she thought that she would spend the rest of her life with him. But when Nate upped and left Firefly Beach without a backward glance he took all of Sydney’s hopes and dreams with him. Now back in Firefly Beach, he wants to explain his reasons for leaving. Although she’s still in love with him she’s not interested in his explanations. Can Nate persuade Sydney to give him a second chance?

A lovely lighthearted love story which is the perfect summer read.

This book was better than I anticipated, I honestly loved it more than I thought I would everything about it was so sweet and definitely a feel good romance.
Things I really like we’re pretty much everything: the writing was nicely done easy to read and understand. All the characters were likeable I’m glad it wasn’t the same old argument it was interesting to know what Nate wanted and the twist at the end was a nice reveal. Definitely recommend for a quick summer read!

This book was such a heart warming story where you just wanted Sydney to find happiness after her love Nate just up and left her. They then bump into each other at her sisters wedding when Nate attempts to amend his mistakes with Sydney.

I really enjoyed this book and now I want to read the first in the series summer at firefly beach.

Thank you to the publishers and Netgalley for an early copy.

I really enjoyed this story,.
A family, grieving for the loss of a special person in all their lives, Aunt Clara.
Aunt Clara who had a way of touching everyone’s lives, even after she is gone it doesn’t change, each character remembers her and what she would’ve said to them when they feeling lost or wasn’t sure of what to do.

A lovely tale of a grieving family, dealing with the loss and learning how to move on, to grow with each other..

Once again wasn’t disappointed with Hale’s book,. An enjoyable summer read!

This was a cute little story. I loved the characters, but I kind of felt like there wasn’t much of a conflict, just a bunch of misunderstandings and miscommunication that could have been avoided had the characters just talked more.
