I love Picollo's drawing style and Kami Garcia's writting style, so these two are amazing together!
I really loved Raven's story and Beast Boy was no different! Nothing bad to say about this story, everything was amazing! Highly recommend to anyone starting with Teen Titans or comic books in general.

Teen Titans was one of my absolute favorite shows as a kid, and I loved the first in this series about Raven, so of course I was excited about "Teen Titans: Beast Boy" by Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo.

It's been a blast diving into some of my old favorite characters' backstories as an adult. I love Picolo's art style on its own, but I also think it's just perfect for a project like this. Mixed with Garcia's story building, this graphic novel series is a perfect way to indulge in some nostalgia while also engaging with new content. Because I'm not sure if these backstories were established in previous canon, but I certainly don't remember them from the 2003-06TV series.

Either way! I can't wait to continue exploring there character's origin stories as the series continues!

It's a good Beast Boy story! It has a good lesson for kids and adults alike, dealing with the toxicity of body image without looking down on the readers. Gar is also written to be a very flawed character with his own set of problems that anyone can relate too. However his story is well written and it's fun to read. It also appropriate for young readers 10+. 😄

Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo's followup to Teen Titans: Raven was pretty solid. In fact, I enjoyed it more than Raven. It's pretty standard YA affair for the most part. Gar is small in stature and wants to be popular so starts doing web stunts. Eventually, his Beast Boy nature starts to creep in. It looks like we will need to wait until the next volume though to get much world building.

I like Picolo's art and muted color palette. I do take issue though with his lack of backgrounds though. A lot of pages consist of teenagers talking to each other in an empty void.

Love, love, LOVE Gabriel's artwork. I am also really enjoying the storyline he and Kami are setting up in this new series so far. Although, I am not surprised at all - his Teen Titan's fan art has always been amazing and gives a really fun perspective on the group. Very excited for the next one and I hope they continue with the rest of the group!

Not having read the first Teen Titans book Raven or knowing anything about the series, really, I was able to catch on pretty quickly. I liked that this graphic novel dealt with boys having body image issues and worried about being tall enough or built enough. I don't think there are enough books showing that boys also worry about their bodies and how they're portrayed to the world. I also liked that Tank struggled with learning only to find out he's dyslexic. So many students worry about this being a negative stigma, but Tank discusses how many intelligent people have dyslexia and now that he knows he can get help. I liked the focus on how popularity isn't everything as well. Great YA graphic novel & artwork!

Honestly I adored the first one, and this was no different. Love the characters and the gorgeous yet quirky artist style for the drawings.

Literally a perfect companion to Raven and a great start to a new line of the Teen Titans franchise. Cannot wait to see Beast Boy and Raven meet up in the next one. They just keep getting better. Garcia and Picolo have found their stride. What a team.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review which has not altered my opinion of this book.

For those who were wondering: this is not cannon to the comics. But…that being said many things were taken from the story of Beast Boy, down to a lot of his personal facts. They did their research.

I absolutely love Beast Boy, and I love the style and direction that this series is taking. I think I connected a bit more to Beast Boy in this series at points and I appreciated the call outs that him and his friends had to the different aspects of Teen Titans. Beast Boy, in this series is a teenaged boy and acts like it, which made it quite refreshing and got several laughs from me along the way. I am very quickly falling in love with the art and the color choices made for this series.

This book did not alter my love for Teen Titians and in fact, it allowed me to appreciate him from a different perspective. I can't wait to see where this series goes!! 4.5 out of 5 from me.

Beast Boy was always my favorite Teen Titan. And this was so fun and lovely to read. If you liked this book go watch Titans.

I enjoyed the first and second books in this series. Garfield is struggling with being one of the smallest guys in class and trying to find ways to gain weight and muscle. It isn't until he stops taking his meds his parents have him on that he starts to realize why he has always had such a tough time. I feel this book is perfect for the Young Adult community because a lot of the boys deal with issues like this in school.

I am loving these adaptations by DC, I'm hoping for all the titans! Beast Boy was my least fave of the titans, and yet this book made me understand his appeal. He's charming and funny and it was a really great take on his story.

Teen Titans is something that I get to share with my kids. There’s the cartoons and the live action tv show that all connect to the X-Men movies. Now, we can share the comics, too. Thankfully, the comic works, and the artwork is gorgeous. While I’m not overly impressed with how obsessed Gar is with his popularity or how clueless he is about who and what truly matters. Thematically, there is plenty of teachable moments, and I’m excited for new installments. All things considered, this is definitely worthy of 3 1/2 stars.

I was given this ARC via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

A pretty solid graphic novel. I can definitely feel for our Beast Boy, and want him to find the best in life after his life has been so permanently altered. The art as always was lovely, and I am looking forward to the next installment in this graphic novel series.

This graphic novel was incredibly done and the artist is in his own league. I grew up loving the Teen Titans and so far both of these books have nurtured that love and grown with me. The stories are well paced, the art 100% capable and wonderfully represented and I hope we get to see more of the Titans in the future.

An origin story with humor and teenage angst.

Gar had plans to return from spring break bulked up and ready to check everything off his bucket list. However, nothing seems to work and he's running out of time. Making the bold choice to stop taking his supplement has a life-altering effect.

This story of Beast Boy the high school, not the hero is very relatable and funny. He has a great group of friends and they contribute to genuine character development. His passion for animals is introduced through his friendship and the plot has an organic buildup to the action. The illustrations capture the humor and emotion of the scenes. The dialogue between characters and the self-reflection Gar experiences is revealing.

An original origin story appealing to DC fans and Teen Titan lovers!
