It was 2005 when I first saw the trailer of this new show called Supernatural which was going to star Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki in the lead roles. Jensen and Jared were already quite popular but so far never had a leading role in any TV series. Plus the show was going to be all about hunting supernatural beings and monsters and so I was interested. I started watching and well became a big fan. Then came the demons and angels and this show just took on a whole new level of paranormal/supernatural greatness.

I will admit that I have not watched all the seasons but the simple reason why I think this show became so popular was because of its original storytelling and the commitment of the all the actors/actresses and crew involved with the show. It got translated on screen. The fans saw it, felt it and loved it. Not many fictional TV shows have been made showcasing supernatural myths, urban legends on the level Supernatural did and the show has set a high benchmark.

My thanks to NetGalley, the publisher BanBella Books and the author Lynn S. Zubernis for the e-Arc of the book.

This book was a wonderful tribute to the beauty of the show Supernatural. By having a mix of fan interviews and cast and crew interviews it makes the reader part of the experience of the show. Each “story” throughout the book gives a unique perspective of all of the aspects of the show. Even though each chapter is from a different author, Ms. Zubernis does a phenomenal job tying them all together. As a fan of the show I couldn’t ask for a better summary of my feelings about it.

A beautiful collection of stories about the effects a long running show had on so many different lives. It will make you laugh and cry and want to watch the whole series over again. Wonderfully done and put together.

As a fan of Supernatural since being introduced by my husband, I was instantly in love with this book. Never would have expected all the ways this series really influenced their watchers. My husband works at the airport and sees the cast of the show often as they head to their cons, so I feel even more connected since he shares how nice all of them are when they go through TSA. I love that the actors are a family and treat others the same. It was something that connected us as a couple, and now while sad it is over, this book helps continue to connect their viewers. Enjoyed reading all the stories about being on set or being at a con. Thanks for creating a fun fanfic collection! Also now available as an audio book. (though the audio is harder to follow as the stories aren't male/female voice separated which might have made it easier to follow when a story stopped/started since this was done purposefully.)
Thanks for the free NetGalley ARC. 3.5 stars

Fifteen years. Two brothers. Angels and demons. A story like no other.

I just absolutely adored this book!! It was fantastic reading the casts and fans stories and seeing the impact this long running show has had on so many people.
Definitely a must read for fans of the show!!

As a person who was only really ever a casual fan of the first few seasons of Supernatural, I can admit that maybe this wasn't really for me. I really liked the variety of perspectives, I think including conversations about disability and the LGBT+ community was really interesting and brought something that casual fans of the show wouldn't have really known about. And I really enjoy that people who were in the show also took part. It made everything feel special. This could be something really great for big Supernatural fans!

This collection of essays talking about the impact that Supernatural has had on its fanbase is amazing. Each essay, either written by the crew of Supernatural or by fans themselves, gives you a different perspective as to why the show has been so successful over its 15 year run. If you are a big fan of Supernatural, either from the beginning or any point during the show's run, this essay collection is a must read!

Decent collection of letters and essays to represent the show. I appreciated the actors who had sections. I felt there was a LOT of LGBTQ+ which I love for diversity and inclusivity, but would have been great to be one or two sections with others facets of the show.

As a fan of Supernatural I really enjoyed this book which is coming out at a great time. The show was due to end last tv season but with the pandemic the show is being aired this fall…. Lucky fans!

This book is really a great read for any fan of the show. Of course, if you are not a fan this is not the book for you. But as a fan you will enjoy every word. The stories the author shared were emotional knowing these times were coming to an end. But as any fan laughing is part of the show and part of this book.

I loved the pictures and revisiting favorite characters.

Great for any fan!

This collection of letters and interviews from the Supernatural cast and fandom are a perfect way to look back into everything this fandom has given everyone involved, including casts and fans alike. Great way to cope with the ending of the TV show and realize that the fandom and amazing experiences that have gotten out of this are always going to be there with us. The fandom won't go anywhere.

The editing is done so well! every story and letter are incredibly coherent, which is a great achievement since fans and cast, although incredible, are not writers, every story is gripping and will make you laugh and cry and just feel all the emotions that this incredible show and fandom always makes us feel. This really felt like a very needed fandom hug!

An excellent love letter and farewell to a show that has touched so many lives. Each chapter held so many memories and paid homage to the depth of the connection between the actors and the fans. I especially loved the way the fan and actor chapters were woven together and titled the same so neither group is placed above the other. Of course, Jensen's final chapter made me cry. Nothing stays dead on Supernatural.

Ok, so this is a highly unusual review for me! The reason is because I haven't even finished the book and I just HAD to come give you feedback! There was no way it could wait!

This book.... is perfect and amazing. I've been a huge fan since Supernatural since the very begining. I've been with the brothers the whole ride. When I learned last year that it was going to be over after season 15, I too felt devastated! I felt like I'd been punched right in the feels. It was like a death in the family. I was so sad. And not just did I feel sadness, but anxiety- how were they going to end the show? Are they going to kill off Sam and Dean for REAL this time? Noooo!! D: I hated the end was coming and I was dreading how it was going to be over for good. I felt..... lost almost. I cried. I complained. I took to social media. I got eye rolls from most people. It's just a show, so what. They aren't real people. Or so what you can just stream the series and re-watch. UGH! Nobody understood what I was feeling!

This book does. So many stories from fans and people involved with the show. They talk about the love they've had for the show, what it has meant to them over 15 years of following the journey, and the bittersweet tears now that the journey is over. This book made me feel that I wasn't crazy or alone in what I was feeling for this series. Others felt it. Lots of others!

This is a sad book on one hand because we know the end is nigh... but on the other hand, it made me feel.... I don't know. More connected and loved be a community of people. Like, it felt like in our sadness, I realized we are all here together. I talked about Supernatural with my friends, but I had never dug around online Supernatural communities. I knew we had a huge family, but I guess it never really sank in before the scope of fandom.

This book is wonderful. This book is sad. This book is beautiful Thank you to the author who put it together, and all the people who contributed their stories to it. Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read it. I will be buying a copy of this myself to read and read again. This is a book every Supernatural fan needs to read.

(I recieved an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review)

This needs all the stars in the world. I am probably not able to critique it objectively, although given the fact that it is a bundle of interviews of real life people and not at all a fictional work, I don't even think it could be critiqued as such.
Being part of the fandom literally ever since I began to know I have a place in the world (I saw the first episode together with my mum in 2005, when I was literally 5 years old, and it traumatised me), Supernatural surely played a big role in my development as a person. After seeing that first episode, we rewatched it countless times, not keeping up with the show as it aired, only for me to be able to pick it up from the start again 8 years later and never stop since.
Now, Supernatural is about to end. The show is 15 years old and I'm 20. Besides my family, I don't think there's literally anything else that has lasted so much, that remained such a constant throughout my life.
This book made me cry. A whole lot. And I can't wait for the moment I'll hold it in my hand in physical form. It showed me how the fandom made so many people speak up and get out of the toxic relationships they had with themselves and with the world. I wish I had been more active in the fandom way back, it probably would've made me believe in myself and in my passions more, something I'd struggled with for my whole life.
Nonetheless, the show still empowered me. It is something I'll always keep in my heart and in my life. I am so glad this show exists. Because no matter if it ends this year, or the following year, it will keep existing. The SPNFamily will never end.
I recommend any die-hard Supernatural to read this book and I can't wait to get my hands on this one, as well as all the other books on this subject that are out there.

Supernatural. Need we say more?

This is a very sweet book created from a person who loves the series for people who love the series: this is the Supernatural family. The Supernatural phenomenon is that it connected so many people, brought together fans, and left a lot of sweet memories.

And this is exactly what There'll Be Peace When You Are Done is doing: creating one more sweet memory for the Supernatural Fam. This is a very pleasant book to read, and quite interesting, too. Recommended if you're a fan of the series.

Fans and actors reflect on the end of SPN, with essays from Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and others. The fans are often quite moving about what the show has meant to them, including when they critique its fridging origins. The actors speak a lot about inclusivity (both Jesse and César’s actors have pieces, as does Eileen’s, and hers is hilarious and the best of the bunch). Like Joe Biden I guess, the show has grown a lot in its understanding of the world around it.

As many of you know, Supernatural is coming to an end this season. In homage to that fact, Lynn S Zubernis has brought together a collection of essays written by various actors, associates, and fans. "There'll be Peace When You Are Done" is a nod to the unofficial theme song by Kansas, "Carry on my Wayward Son" and the title to the collection. A collection of essays was written before, "Family Don't End with Blood" and this one may be a little better in some ways. Some of the writers are Jensen Ackles and fangirl extraordinaire, Alana King. Some essays are better than others. Most writings are farewell messages to the show, which has been on TV for 15 years and has interwoven itself into the fabric of American culture. It deserves a farewell tour. I would recommend this book for any Supernatural fan. But not the so-so watcher. I received this book from netgalley.

After reading Family Don't End with Blood I had to read this book as well. Once again the stories were wonderful and inspiring, and I loved reading all of them. Together, they perfectly described why Supernatural is such an amazing show, why the SPNFamily is the most wonderful fandom of all time, and most of all, why Supernatural will never truly end.

I simply loved it. All of it.
