3.75 Hearts Here is the thing about this book. There is no good characters and yet they are all fun to read. Cat has it all and Neena wants it.

I found the characters well written and while I could see every last scene before it happened it was still a good read. As I said I really never cared about any of the characters so it made it easy to sit back and watch the train wreck happen.

I am not sure I have read this author before, I do not believe I have, so I was pleasantly surprised at the well written story.

Worth reading the next from this author.

Finished reading this domestic drama meets psychological thriller!! I have previously read 'The Ghostwriter' by A.R. Torre and loved it, so when I saw this book on NetGalley, I requested it immediately.
You can totally see from the start where the story is heading but the writing is what captures and holds the reader's attention until the very last page. Well, this was a crazy, thrilling and entertaining ride full of lies, secrets, deception, revenge and somehow compassion towards the very end.
While the characters are highly unlikeable and annoying I did, however, enjoy reading this and the ending is kind of satisfying.
Overall I would recommend this book!
4 stars.

Hell have no fury... Bravo A. R. Torre this book was so delicious Lee dark and twisted! A salacious and sinister game of cat and mouse. Two Women who will stop at nothing to win this ill-fated game. Cat lives the glamorous life, beautiful home, impeccable social standing,Everyone’s respect, and a gorgeous rich husband. Neena is the new girl on the block. Not only has Cat’s husband William hired her to work for their company, but she and her husband Matt have just moved in next-door. Cat does not trust Neena, and rightly so because Neena wants everything Cat has including William. let the games begin!

I seriously got whiplash from this book as I was following the action pinging and ponging back-and-forth between these ladies. The story bounces back-and-forth between the perspectives of Cat and Neena. The fact that you are privy to both these ladies dark and twisted minds made this book even more juicy. both these ladies were unreliable, unlikable, and unstable. this is one of those thrillers that I did not want to put down, I needed to know let these characters were going to get up to next. And at the end all I could think was - well played.....Check Mate!

This was my first book by this author but definitely won’t be the last. I really enjoyed the way the story was told from the perspective of the 2 women. A story of secrets, plotting, love and jealousy with twists and turns you won’t see coming. Thanks to NetGalley for the privilege to read and review this book.

I'm really tired of toxic female friendships. Even when the story is twisty, I can't get over the fact that women don't need to be pitted against each other all the time.

I fell in love with this author when I read the Ghostwriter so I was ready to get this ARC! Do you need a book that has you rooting for someone and then changing it up? ready to see which woman winds out on top? A satisfying book that will engross you? This is it. This is the one. Delve into the friendship between Cat and Neena along with that pesky obsession with Cat's husband, William. You have no idea what you are in store for.

Great read! Loved this one! Great fast read about an awesome story. Couldn’t put it down. I haven’t read this author before but will be checking out more by them.

Cat Winthorpe has a successful handsome husband William and they are rich with servants, jets, cars, and an amazing home. Everyone wants what they have, especially Neena. Neena Ryder moves in next door and comes from nothing. Determined not to lose it and keep on rising from the top. She becomes obsessed with swooping in on Cat’s life. Both are crazy ladies full of jealousy and secrets trying to take down the other.

Matt was the only good one in the book. I wanted to believe in William but he let me down too fairly quickly but also I wasn’t surprised. The drama is mindless and petty but it was fun and honestly, I got sucked in. I went into this not knowing much and I think that’s the best way to go! I loved the plot twists.

Thanks to Netgalley and to Thomas & Mercer for the advanced copy of this book!

If you’re a thriller reader and enjoyed The Kind Worth Killing and I Can Be a Better You, you should definitely pick this one up.

Every Last Secret tells the story of two women, Cat and Neena. Cat is married to William, a millionaire who hires Neena to work at his company. However, Neena is a social climber and seems to be more interested in Cat’s husband than on the job itself. The question is: is William astraying or not?

In the first 10%, I wasn’t sure if this was going to be the book for me. I’m so glad I continued reading because it was a fantastic story. A.R. Torre is one of those people who were born to write: she goes across so many genres, bringing in the best aspects of all of them. Her characters are so morally gray, making you think that their actions are always justifiable. She also writes very sharply, in a way that will keep you awake at night turning the pages. The reason why the book didn’t get 5 stars from me is the last quarter: it could’ve been edited to be shorter and less explanatory, leaving more to imagination.

Definitely recommend this one, this made me want to get to The Ghostwriter as soon as possible.

A good story from the start and one that ended with a bang. Twists of the best kind, ones I didn’t see coming.

Cat and William are living the dream, a seemingly perfect life. Enter newcomers Neena and Matt, the new next-door neighbors. Neena is clearly on a mission to upset Cat and William’s storybook life and worms her way into their lives. Can her husband Matt really be so oblivious to all the shenanigans? What a glorious tangled web weaved from beginning to end!

Right when I saw that AR Torre had another book releasing I knew I needed it immediately! I devoured her Deanna Madden series and can’t recommend it enough. EVERY LAST SECRET did not disappoint and it was another binge read for this girl! It would have been finished in one sitting but life and work ruined that.

I don’t want to get into too many details and risk spoiling anything, but I absolutely hated Neena and found myself rooting for Cat. But its much more fun to have some characters you hate! What I was the happiest about was how it ended. I was anticipating it to take the typical turn most domestic suspense books take but I was pleasantly surprised and felt satisfied with the outcome.

This has all the ingredients for a great suspense read. Short chapters, multiple POVs, secrets, obsession, juicy rumors and gossip, and just enough reveals to keep you flipping those pages. I highly recommend picking this up and her other books and I’ll be anxiously waiting for the next release.

I was not sure what to expect from this book, but it definitely exceeded my expectations! If you are into dark, twisty plots this book is definitely for you. I was continually guessing what might happen next and even when I thought I had it figured out the reveals kept on coming. Highly recommend this great thriller!

I love Torre's suspense novels and this one grabbed me from the very beginning. A story of jealousy, power, and marriage, of how one woman relentlessly coveted what she didn't have, but deeply desired, and how another woman ruthlessly defended what was her own. I couldn't wait to see how far the women in the book would take it, how far they would push, who would yield in this wicked game between neighbors. A chilling, soapy domestic thriller impossible not to devour.

When telling my cousin about Every Last Secret, I likened it to Single White Female or Fatal Attraction--though I'm realizing that I'm dating myself with those references. If those references mean nothing to you, here's what you need to know--this novel is really hard to put down once you start it. It's categorized as "psychological fiction" --and that's probably the best way to put it. Torre's ability to capture the nuances of all types of relationships and what makes them work or fracture is one of the many things that really shine in this novel. Her powers of observation--of our human nature, our needs, our manipulations, and what we do to create the lives we want or we want to project--we spot on.
Alessandra Torre did a fantastic job of pulling me into the novel and making me completely invested in not what was happening but how it was happening. Torre seemingly removed the mystery of 'who done it' in the prologue so it appeared to be less about the end result and more about how Cat, Neena, William, and Matt got to there. I found myself strongly HATING characters and hate reading parts of chapters. Alternatively, I also found myself actually liking things at the end that I don't know that I should have--does that make me a psychopath?! Perhaps. I blame Torre for it all--the strong feelings, the inability to do an ounce of work, the one more chapter-ing until all hours of the night--because she once again wrote a novel that I couldn't get enough of.

While I didn't have to get to the end to figure some things out, I truly enjoyed the entire journey to the end. And I liked the end--the sense of completion and yet the unexpected sense of melancholy that colored the last pages and left me with the most interesting sense of satisfaction and longing.

So. This. Yeah. Holy smokes. The anticipation to find out what was going to happen was through the roof (but I behaved for the most part). The author’s use of subtle hints in hindsight were amazing when it all came together. If you love a good mystery/mind twist...EVERY LAST SECRET is for you. Cat’s world gets turned upside down when her husband’s new employee, Neena starts invading their lives. There were definitely characters I was rooting for, those I despised and actions I was hoping upon hope that wouldn't have happened BUT I loved every minute of this book. Best part? When you realize EVERY SINGLE ONE of them is crazy!!!

Every Last Secret is one of those books that I wavered most of the way through on how I felt about it. I started out immersed in the story of wealthy, socialites Cat and Willliam Winthorpe and the interloper Neena Ryder trying to steal William away from Cat. Neena, recently hired by William’s company, has moved in next door with her affable husband, Matt, and has been asserting herself into Cat and William’s lives. There is no doubt in Cat’s mind, or the reader’s, that Neena is after Cat’s rich, handsome husband. William is very much in love with Cat, so there are no worries; he will surely put Neena in her place.

For me, the problem with the story was that I didn’t care for any of these people except maybe for poor, trusting Matt. I detested Neena for trying to wreck Cat and William’s marriage. I soon learned I wasn’t thrilled with William and even Cat. And in the end, I didn’t even care for poor Matt.

This is a story of want and revenge, and the revenge is sweet. Never underestimate your enemy. However, without giving anything away, the ending, the epilogue wrapped things up in a way that even I couldn’t accept. Sweetness indeed. The moral of the story, don’t lust after your neighbor’s husband (or something like that.) Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review. I gave it three stars. #netgalley #thomasandmercer

Every Last Secret by A. R. Torre is an amazing tale of seduction, secrets, and revenge. I was so invested in Cat and Neena's fight for William.

Will Neena take William from Cat? Or will Cat protect her marriage from Neena?
I love that the story is about two women from lowercase backgrounds marrying well and moving into the upper class. That is almost where the similarities end, but not completely.

Neena
Dr. Neena Ryder is married to Matt and has been for the last nineteen years. However, Neena wants more money and a sexier, more powerful, richer husband. She gets a job with William's company, Winthorpe Technologies, and then they purchase the house next door to William and Cat. Neena has a plan to seduce William and take him from Cat or blackmail him for millions. She hasn't decided which.

The thing about sleeping with a married man is the wife usually doesn't agree with the situation. Nor is your own husband for that fact. I wouldn't think you wouldn't want to befriend the other couple or mess with people close to home.

Will Neena continue to pursue William? Will she risk her own marriage for a fling? Does she love Matt as much as she loves the thought of being with Matt?

Cat
Cat Winthrope is married to William, and it has taken her a long time to be part of the "in" group. She stays within the rules of their society; however, she also expects William to be faithful. They are a team, and he recognizes that. Yet, with the temptation of another woman throwing herself at him, will he cave and cheat on Cat?
Cat sees through Neena immediately and tries to warn William. However, he ignores her and plods along with Neena's wishes. Is Cat as cunning as Neena? How far will she go to protect her marriage? Can she save her marriage, and at what cost?

I like Cat and even though she seems cold at times. I truly like the way that she thinks. Cat knows more about what is going on than anyone realizes. So, if there were teams, I would be on Team Cat.

Five Stars
This story intrigued me when I read the plot summary, and it didn't disappoint. The characters are realistic, with flaws, insecurities, and vanity. Both couples hide secrets from the world, yet each couple has love and care for their spouses. I was like a fly on the wall and couldn't get enough of these characters and their issues with each other. Ms. Torre does an awesome job putting the story together and the action, although mostly in the minds of Neena and Cat, is fabulously written.

My rating for Every Last Secret is five stars, and I highly recommend this book. It has the perfect amount of suspicion and suspense, along with a bit of cunning. The outcome is gratifying.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Thank you for dropping by! I hope you enjoyed this review of Burn You Twice by AR Torre.

Until the next time,
~Jen

A.R. Torre knocks it out of the park with Every Last Secret. The plot is fast-paced and engaging, and, although there isn’t one likable character in the book, they’re all relatable, and I think everyone will see a little bit of themselves in each of them. No spoilers, but trust me that you won’t be able to tell who to root for, but you also won’t be able to turn away!

“I will have you
Yes, I will have you
I will find a way and I will have you”

Obsession....relentless...flaming desire!

Oh my goodness! What a wickedly delicious read! A mind-blowing cast of characters that you will just love to hate!

Cat and William have the perfect marriage. Thirteen years and going strong as ever. No one could ever come between them.

That is until William makes a less than wise decision to hire Neena. A motivational coach to build stronger relationships and moral in his company. Cat, leaning on her female intuition, just can’t help sensing that Neena is looking for more than just a job.

“You are an obsession
You're my obsession
Who do you want me to be?
To make you sleep with me?”

And Cat is spot-on with her concerns. Neena has most definitely set her sights on her new boss! Willing to do whatever it takes to have him. Going so far as to even buy the house next door! The fact that she’s already married means nothing to Neena. Nothing will prevent her from getting what she feels is hers, and hers alone!

“My fantasies have turned to madness
And all my goodness
Has turned to badness
My need to possess you
Has consumed my soul
My life is trembling
I have no control”

A.R. (Alessandra) Torre has once again hit this one out of the park! After this magnificent read she’s quickly becoming a favorite author of mine and I can’t read her books fast enough.

Each and every twist...every turn will have you on the edge of your seat! I devoured this one...as I do with all her books! More please!🙏🏼

A buddy read with Susanne!
