I loved this book so much that I had to go buy myself a copy so that I can have in my collection and read again in the very near future.
I admit I have not read the previous books in the series but I have now added them to my to be read pile .

The Rebellious Rancher by Kate Pearce is the second in the Miller of Morgan Valley series of cowboy romances. Ben Miller is a quiet, brooding man. He is the second brother and both relishes and resents his position. His father has just given the ranch to his older brother, Adam, so he needs to decide what his future holds. His past has not been so great. Can his future be better? He has a part-time gig leading trail rides at a local dude ranch and this one must be a doozy. They are prepared to pay four times the going rate and Ben can't run it down, despite the fact it is calving season and his father is on a rampage (when isn't he?) The client is Silver Meadows, a woman he has known most of his life, through a television screen. The amount of luggage a woman could think to bring on a trail ride was unbelievable. That was the first hurdle. As the days wore on, the two became friends, and then more. The fact that it was temporary was always in the forefront of their minds. Then it was over.

Both of these wonderful characters carried a lot of baggage . . . of totally different kinds. Ben was still smarting from his experience from 10 years earlier, the one that lad him to drop out of college and colored his life forever. Silver, from not only her drug dependency, but from the general hassle of a parent who cared too much and a press and public that gave her little space. Their heartbreak was real, although much of it was the result of overbearing fathers. It hurt, and finding their separate ways through it was difficult. Struggling for independence always is. They both had strong support systems, although sometimes it felt like strong prison bars, with loving parents who were each misguided in their own ways. It is a lovely book, full of romance and passion, and so much more. I loved it. You will, too. I recommend it.

I was invited to read a free ARC of The Rebellious Rancher by Netgalley. All opinions and interpretations contained herein are solely my own. #netgally #therebelliousrancher

Thank you to the author and TLC Book Tours for the review copy!

The Rebellious Rancher is book three in the Millers of Morgan Valley series. I haven't read the other two, but they read like standalones. There's some crossover and characters that are present from previous books, so I missed their significance. But again, that didn't hinder my ability to read this one.

To start, I feel like I should mention that western/cowboy romance isn't my typical genre. I haven't read many of them. I'm open to most romance genres though! So I don't have much to compare this one to.
The Rebellious Rancher follows Ben Miller, who's struggling with some resentment issues after his father leaves the family ranch to his older brother. Ben gets the opportunity to develop a trail riding experience on the ranch, and jumps at the chance. He's assigned a mysterious client- a young actress from LA. Silver Meadows is preparing for a role in a Western film, and has Ben guide her on a trail ride experience.

So. The characters. I honestly didn't feel very connected to either of them. I actually started out really, really not liking Silver (and not just because of her name- honestly, that name really threw me.)- she's spoiled and immature. She gets better as the story goes on though, and did feel like a really realistic character. I was also not too sure about Ben and Silver together. At times it just felt a little forced, and like they didn't really have chemistry. There's a lot of break up/ makeup type drama and I'm not the biggest fan of that. The romance and steamy scenes were pretty good!

I really enjoyed the setting. The trail ride was well described and I totally wanted to be out there riding too! The writing is good, and overall this was an enjoyable read. It was quick, cute, and light. While I didn't love it, I think a lot of people would! If you're a fan of this subgenre, and like a cute and easy read, I think you'll really enjoy this!

The Rebellious Rancher is the third book in Kate Pearce’s The Millers of Morgan Valley. Ben Miller is a hardworking and devoted son who feels betrayed by his father’s actions. The storyline is detailed and informative and the character development keeps readers intrigued with their journey. I’m thoroughly enjoying the lives portrayed and the family dynamic while volatile is fascinating. I look forward to the next in this gripping series.

This is the third book in Kate Pearce's The Millers of Morgan Valley series, with Ben Miller working with Silver Meadow, a movie actress, thinking she's learning skills for her next movie audition as they take a camping trip together. Problems caused by their families (mostly their fathers) make them realize they need to make their own path in life and they work toward their own HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book.

The Rebellious Rancher by Kate Pearce is the third book in the Millers of Morgan Valley series. I really enjoyed this story and recommend it. Cowboy romances are among my favorite. This story was well written and flowed at a good pace and smoothly. This is Silver and Ben’s romance story. The combination of these two was interesting as they were so different. There was humor, heartache, twists and turns…a perfect combination. Great story!
I received an advance copy of this story from Netgalley in order to provide my honest review.

Can a famous actress with medical issues learn to be independent and strong? Her dad sends her on a 10 day trail ride to learn wilderness techniques for an upcoming film. Also to help her learn to trust her decisions in tough situations.

A life threatening situation arises and she stays calm, helping to save a life. Silver also learns to trust her decisions and discovers Ben is not like other men she's met. Their relationship develops and they both have to decide what's real and who can be trusted.

I received a free ARC eBook from net Galley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is a very interesting book. Silver has been an actress since she was a child. It's all she knows, plus she's responsible for her entire family. Ben is a rancher hired to take Silver on an outdoor adventure. This story has many touching moments, especially towards the end when these two have to decide if they want to try and have a relationship. Real life problems are hard to endure, and these two are put through the ringer. Through in a meddling family and this makes for a good read.

At first glance Ben and Silver are as different as chalk and cheese. Yet both are battling intense emotions while dealing with the stresses of their respective lives. Aside from the chemistry and romance which was depicted well, I liked the personal growth of both Silver and Ben. It was nice to visit the Morgan family once again in this enjoyable series.

Cowboys, ranches, trail rides, storms, danger, manipulative dads, Hollywood, and young love all combined to make this a fantastic story I did not want to put down. I also liked that I was never sure how the story would end so I had to keep reading. This book really had it all.

I loved the trail ride and Silver's attitude which made Ben want to get her riled up. It was fun to watch her character grow from the experience.

I also enjoyed Ben's large family, although his dad sounded pretty scary at times. It was nice to see he had a relationship with his mom after she had left their family a long time ago. It was interesting to find out why she left too.

My favorite part about this book is Ben. He has been through so much but it has made him stronger and I enjoyed watching him finally figure out what he wanted in life and how his dad even helped him. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

This book took me by surprise. I loved the mix of hollywood actress meets cowboy, out on a ranch while trying to get into the mindset of a role she is auditioning for. Two worlds collided and even though everything pointed to it never working out, both Silver and Ben could not hide from the pull they had to eachother from anywhere that they were in the world. I respected the fathers of the characters, meaning well ALWAYS but conveying it in an overbearing, obnoxious way. Such a great, quick and easy read.
Look forward to following Kate Pearce

A very moving story with very good characters. I love the Morgan Ranch and was happy to visit again. Ben and Silver are wonderful characters who seem made for each other. They have to fight their way to each other but love is never really easy, is it? Really good story.

This book opens with Ben Miller dealing with his feelings of disappointment and frustration along with many other feelings towards his father and himself. Knowing that his father has given the ranch to his older brother he now feels lost for he is tied to the land like his family before him he just can’t change the look in his father’s eye or mind. He is asked by a neighbor to take someone on a private trail ride. He agrees though it upsets his family. He also finds out that it is an actress by the name of Silver Meadow he remembers her old T.V. show from years ago. Meeting her at first does not go as he had planned.
Silver arrives but she also has issues going on with her family especially her father who has been handling her career and she wants control back but he keeps doing things to keep that from happening. Once on the trail ride, the author uses the ride as a way for Silver to gain strength in herself knowing she can do things and not have to rely on others. Ben has shown her how to set up camp and break it down and by doing so she has gained self-worth that she was lacking.
When they are back in their own environment, he leaves the family ranch to manage a nearby ranch. Silver wanting more control is fighting with her father which comes to a head when Ben goes out to California and is suddenly gone along with her phone and the Wi-Fi not working. When she returns from her shoot, she finds out what happens and really lays into everyone. By the time you get to end, you are now wanting the story to continue. I found this to be a very good book with excellent characters.

This is story of finding your purpose in life and discovering love. It's about two people who are in very different spheres of life who come together, discover love and struggle trying to find some way to be together. This story is so well crafted and believable I found myself rooting for them to make it work. Silver Meadows grown up child actress struggling to find her own way out from under her smothering manager father and Ben Miller, second son rancher trying to find a place to belong of his own.

Ben is adrift, his soul is restless. His gruff Dad has left the ranch to his elder brother Adam and he feels like he's not valued, just the one who cleaned up and did the leftover jobs no one else wants to do. So when neighbor BB Morgan offered him a job as a trail guide he jumped at the chance to get away. He figured he'd get his head on straight, sort out his priorities and figure a path forward for his life.

Silver Meadows is a child movie star who now grown and is tired of fluff roles her Dad keeps finding for her. A serious role in an indie western movie is coming up and she wants it. She decides if she goes on this trail ride it will give her some experience so she'll be taken seriously for the roll. Unfortunately she fell into a drug habit 3 years ago after an injury and got addicted to pain meds she has since rehabbed. Her Dad is trying to control her life so she won't relapse as he's sure she will. Ben is made aware of this and asked to keep a sharp eye out for drug use.

I loved watching the growth and self confidence in these two people. Silver is such a fish out of water being without her support staff doing for her. It's just she and Ben and the horses on this trail ride roughing it. I enjoyed Ben seeing another side of life outside of the ranch and the toll fame takes on people. He has such a good, patient heart as he teaches Silver how to survive on the trail. She has to put to use what she's learned when she has to rescue Ben in an accident on the trail. They weren't looking for love but found it anyway. Later Ben experiences the fish of of water when he has to help her PR in Hollywood later. These two people mature into better people because of their time together.

The Rebellious Rancher is Book 3 of The Millers of Morgan Valley. These stories all stand perfectly fine on their own. I enjoyed revisiting past characters but it doesn't take anything away if you haven't read them all. I have loved everything ever written by this author and this story was no exception.

An excellent story with great character development and amazing chemistry between Ben and Silver. This was an intriguing story that drew me in from Page 1 and kept me engaged throughout. Highly recommend.

When his dad left the ranch to his brother Ben feels under valued and unhappy. When he gets the chance to be a trail guide at a neighboring ranch he jumps at the opportunity. Their he meets actress Silver Meadows and sparks fly. Can these to very different people find a way to be together? Fast-paced read with lots of drama and great chemistry. I liked it.

It's a story of an actress vs. a cowboy, and we know who'll win don't we? -- Both of them. Now that's not a surprise so why read the book? -- Because it's lots of fun, and you'll really enjoy making the trip. Myself, I thoroughly enjoyed reading of the outdoor views that our author described so well. I've seen and been in many, but her words just brought out the whole picture. So, get your copy, get comfortable, and enjoy a good read. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book.

I absolutely loved Silver and Ben! Sparks were flying from the very beginning. Throw in a daring rescue, a misunderstanding and meddling fathers and you have a winner!!

This is the third book in The Millers of Morgan Valley Series. I thought this book was an excellent addition to the series. The characters were well written and completely believable. The pace was great, and it made it hard to put down. I can’t wait for the next installment of this series.

3.5 Stars

Ben is feeling out of sorts since his father left the ranch to his older brother. He is asked to do a 10 day trail with a client who would pay him a good sum of money. He needs to step away from the ranch for a moment to get his resentment and feelings together. He just doesn’t anticipate the client being a famous actress.

Silver is an actress whose entire career has been spearheaded by her meddling father. Her entire family relies on her providing for them so Silver feels some sort of pressure. She wants to take the reins of her career but her father’s controlling ways are hindering her. I went into this novel completely ready to get hate Silver but found myself admiring her strength. I really disliked her father and his antics. There is self discovery for Silver on this trail and growth.

Of course the sex scenes are steamy. I didn’t expect anything less from Ms. Pearce as I have read some of her steamier books. The connection between Silver and Ben is undeniably.

The one thing that I disliked was the manufactured drama where the couple got together and separated more than once. I wanted Silver to put her foot down much earlier in the story. She had shown so much growth. She took care of Ben when he got hurt on the trail and even took the lead to make sure they got to safety. She listened to the poison her father spewed once she returned back to Hollywood instead of trusting her gut. It almost as if she regressed.

Overall, this is a cute cowboy story that is well written. I look forward to reading the other books in the series. I highly recommended for fans of contemporary western stories.
