This novel was an enjoy read for the next Red Rogue, Cecelia, whom is the kindest but had a rather horrible upbringing. Ramsay, the Lord Chief Justice, has his own miserable childhood, which causes a deep distrust of women, yet he is strong, stubborn, and a deep belief in the law. Cecelia and Ramsay are instantly attracted to one another. Ramsay though denies this attraction and avoids Cecelia. Cecelia likes to rattle him and believes he hates her, especially if he finds out her secret. There is an unknown enemy that wants something Cecelia has and she is the only who can decode it, for there is much information that could be used if found in the wrong hands. Ramsay vows to keep her safe, but he needs to overcome his own demons and past before he can have a future of his own. I enjoyed the interaction between the 2 main characters, their own strengths balancing out with the other's weaknesses. Still, there is more to come with the Red Rogues.
I received this novel from net galley and the publisher as an ARC. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I was captivated from beginning to end. I believe I read it through the night, I couldn't get enough, and I was eager to experience their first sex scene; which didn't come for awhile but was well worth it. I just loved how Cecelia loved to eat desserts and the description Byrne gave throughout the book from the way she eats the truffles in front of Ramsey to the power and tension Ramsey holds in his body from not touching Cecelia. Granted, this book (with the Vicar of Vice) was not as thrilling as the first in the series (with the Terror of Torcliff), but what sequel really is? But Ramsey and Cecilia had their own kind of passion that kept me reading. I cannot wait to read the third and final (I believe) in this series.

Great second book. I wasn't sure if I was ever going to like Ramsey. He was a royal arse from the beginning. Cecilia was just as fearless and awesome has her friends. Never saw them as the bad guys. Loved little Phoebe, maybe she'll be the next generation of the Red Rogues. Now the ending stunk..we're together and done. Now from what I gathered the next book will be Frank and .... no spoilers here, but who are they really.

This was a very good book. Cecelia and Ramsay, we have two very lonely people who have succeeded and let the issues they grew up with define their lives. They come together to find a common enemy. Ramsay doesn’t trust women due to past experiences..Cecelia loves wholeheartedly. Cecelia inherits a gambling hall and secrets her aunt kept coded and only she can decode. She has inherited a ward and a host of women trying to better their lives. After an explosion at her club and a attack on her and her ward Ramsay comes and save her and decides she needs to be protected. They now have a common enemy and have to discover if they can get over their lack of trust and nativity of each other to find their enemy and the love neither has never felt before. By just talking out their feelings and the past helps Cecelia and Ramsay discover love and trust , and they they are the same . Love ethics book

I love learning more about the Red Rogues! Cecil, as she is called among the Rogues, is a great heroine. I love Kerrigan Brynn’s books so much. She is an amazing writer.

Review by 2shay..........🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟.....

A meme has been going around on Facebook for a while that says a good friend will always be around to hug you when you have trouble, but a really good friend will help you bury the body. Cecilia Teague is a really good friend. If you’ve read the first book in this series, How To Love A Duke In Ten Days, you know how she helped her friend, Alexandra, by doing exactly that. Cecilia and Alexandra along with Francesca are the Red Rogues. They’ve been friends since boarding school and dubbed themselves the Red Rogues because they all have various shades of red hair and a propensity for getting into trouble.

Trouble has only gotten worse as our heroines have gotten older, it’s gotten more dangerous. Cecilia’s unknown benefactress has died and left Cecilia a large fortune along with a gambling establishment and school. Women who have no means of support are learning skills from sewing to learning to operate the brand new phone system. Some are learning to deal cards and run various games in the gambling hall. And a few may be doing other things to make extra money. Until the very day of her inheritance, Cecilia knew nothing of this enterprise.

Lord Chief Justice Of The High Court, Cassius Gerard Ramsay, is all too aware of what he considers to be the most notorious of all gaming hells. He is a hard and determined man. In fact, he has a stick stuck so far up his butt he can’t bend for anything. Then he meets Cecelia. It’s lust at first sight. But when he meets the new proprietor of the gaming hall, who is Cecilia in disguise, he tells her he wants to see her hanged.

Then the fireworks begin as Cecilia and Ramsay are thrown together constantly by her friend and his brother. It’s a wild ride. Someone wants Cecelia dead and she isn’t sure who. Could it be Ramsay? Grab a copy and follow these amazing women who refuse to be disempowered in a time when women had few choices. Kerrigan Byrne is a genius. You’ll love her stories!
Enjoy! ARC graciously provided by St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for an honest and voluntary review..

The Red Rogues don't disappoint in this action packed suspenseful story. I easily picked up where the last book left off and was kept turning pages.

Well, while I didn’t read book one I was given the opportunity to read this one. I truly enjoyed this story and the read was fast paced. I am curious to read the first one now and see what I missed. Even though I started with book 2 this seemed like a good stand alone book. So it’s not necessary to read book 1 but I will read it eventually. Thank you for the opportunity.

Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for this free ARC - the review is my own.

This book is part of a series - I highly recommend reading the first one before starting this one. I thought this was an enjoyable, quick read (perfect for a cold Saturday during stay-at-home orders). I love the enemies to lovers trope when done well - and this one was! Lots of chemistry between Cassius & Cecelia, I loved the mystery that they were both trying to solve as well. I also love that the heroine in this late regency romance was educated - as in university-level, and not just cast aside as a “blue stocking”.

Loved this book! It has everything- mystery, intrigue, and two people who have survived despite terrible childhoods. When Cecelia Teague first meets Cassius Gerald Ramsey they clash. He is the Chief Justice determined to root out vice. Cecelia is an independent woman, not only in wealth but education- a superb mathematician. But there is a spark there waiting to be ignited. And what a ride! Throughly enjoyable read!

All Scot and Bothered has a wonderfully convoluted story line. Two adults whose childhoods were troubled and painful find themselves out of control in each other's presence. Each finds the other impossible to ignore but dangerous to one's safety. The story covers mysterious benefactors, murder, vanished children, a dangerous cabal, and a book written in code that may reveal all. I feel the need to read the first book in this trilogy though each book is a standalone.

I loved this book so much!
Enemies to lovers at its best and so much than the eyes can see!
In true author’s style, this book has everything you expect and need. A feisty heroine that become my favourite female characters in a long time, a hot and bothered hero, and a great story that will keep you up all night devouring their banter, chemistry and suspenseful romance story.
There were moments when I laughed out loud so much as well as moments when my heart broke for both of them.
Cecelia and Ramsay are fire together and their story is not an easy one but the bumpy road is full of moments when they are vulnerable and expose their feelings while falling in love with each other.

Kerrigan Byrne continues to deliver wonderful, steamy romance with the Red Rogues Series. Cecelia and Ramsey are a great pair. I love everything about this couple. They have more in common than they could guess about each other. Secrets bring them together and they get to work on solving the mystery together. Readers of Historical Romance will not want to miss a one of Ms. Byrne's books.

I’ve been a fan of Kerrigan Byrne for a few years now ever since she burst onto the scene with the highwayman I’ve gobbled up almost all of her books. A lot of her books are written in a very old-school fashion and I believe that she often critiques old-school romance novels. This is the second book in her new romance series centering around girls who met at a boarding school. Her heroes and heroines are usually broody and have had trouble childhoods and sometimes that can be quite depressing to read.

Ramsay is a typical Byrne hero and can be on the problematic side and Cecelia is a typical Byrne heroine. She’s a brilliant mathematician who runs a gambling house.

I honestly wish I didn’t read this book right now. My reading at this point tends to go for happy, fluffy romance mainly because of the time we’re living in.

I’m giving this three stars because of the great writing but it was too heavy for me at this point.

CW: child abuse, slut shaming, violence, fatphobia

Clear the day, curl up, and then hunker down for the incoming book hangover.
No one does burnt out husks of heroes like Kerrigan Byrne. She takes these wrecks with horrific stories and gives them happy endings that leave you with a deep feeling of satisfaction. Truly, she's one of the queens of the genre.
The premise was unique, the prose beautiful, and the love story one you want to cheer for. Five solid, enthusiastic stars.

Loved the twists and turns in All Scot and Bothered! Kerrigan Byrne does a splendid job of sucking you in and investing in Cecelia’s liveliness. Well done!

I had a bit of difficulty keeping up with each character and their subsequent nickname’s early on, but the story flows beautifully and am left wanting more. All Scot and Bothered is intriguing and page turning!

I loved the underlying “who done it” storyline, and would love to know more of what happens to the Crimson Council!

Special thanks to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for this advanced readers copy.

Don't let the title of this book deceive you - this book is not light and silly. Kerrigan Byrne is the master of writing heroes that you have mixed emotions about. Cassius Ramsay is no exception to that. He is a hard man with inflexible beliefs and a strong sense of right and wrong. For him there is no grey and no mercy. His half-brother is Piers, the hero from the previous book. He and Piers share the same mother but had vastly different experiences growing up (even though Piers life was no picnic either!). Ramsay has a personal vendetta against the proprietress of an infamous gaming hell that funds a school for young women. He is determined to get to the bottom of a sex trafficking operation involving very young girls from immigrant families. He is intensely focused on the school as the source. The problem is, that Cecilia has just inherited that school - and is thrust unwittingly into the center of some major drama - and put immediately at odds with Ramsay just as they are on the verge of something.

Cecilia is one of the three closely bonded women that branded themselves as the red rogues. Highly educated, smart, and beautiful - Cecilia is also intensely kind and empathic. She has struggled with acceptance and being mistreated by those that should love and care for her throughout her life. She always sees the best in people and has a sunny outlook. Basically, she is just lovely inside and out.

Her interactions with Ramsay are tense - he is intensely attracted to Cecilia and has a lot of internal growth that needs to happen before he can accept his feelings. Ramsay also brings out a side in Cecilia that hasn't been seen before. One where she stands up for herself as an individual. Even in her interactions with her closest friends, you can see that she doesn't always stand up for herself - but goes with the flow even if she doesn't always agree. Cecilia's growth throughout the book is much more subtle than Ramsay's. His growth, like his personality, is much more in your face.

The writing in this story is so nuanced and beautiful, you really get completely engrossed in the storyline. While I liked the first book, I loved this one.

The only thing that kept it from being a five star read for me were a couple of points at the end. <Spoiler> Specifically, Cecilia is unwilling to give up running a gambling hell. She views it as being asked to give up her dreams so that Ramsay can continue to achieve his. I don't think it was quite so cut and dried. I think the danger drawn in to the gambling hell is very real - and a different kind of danger than Ramsay engages in with his role as a judge. I think Ramsay is right that there are other ways to support the school - even ones that Cecilia could use her mathematical gifts on. There are options that could work. After the school burns down, Cecilia says she is going to rebuild - but it also looks like Ramsay is the logical choice to be the next Lord Chancellor so they are going to face the same issue. Unless he turns that down? it wasn't clear. The uncertainties there bothered me - obviously life changes for couples so it doesn't all need to be neat and tidy - but it was such a big deal in the book, I needed more resolution there.</spoiler>

Overall - this is not to be missed! It is a great story. I didn't really like Francesca all the much in either book - so I am interested to see how Kerrigan Byrne rehabs her for me in the next one!

I received this as an AC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

Ramsay tends to throw temper tantrums, “this house is so entirely sullied, my language willna make one jot of a difference, madam,” he sneered, raking her with a glare so sharp and loathing it might have had claws." I liked this book, I liked Ramsay.
