This was a delightful graphic novel that will appeal to middle grade girls. A lot of fun lessons are learned and the artwork is very nice. Although this is number 5, it was easy to jump into the story and understand what was happening.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley to read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I am new to this series and perhaps I do need more context about the characters. I found it hard to become invested in them starting at this point in a series. It is quite hard to judge, but going off of other reviews this must be quite a beloved series. I shall have to track down book 1 for myself.

Thanks to NetGalley for an advanced reading copy of Chloe #5. My daughter is a fan of the series but I had never read them before. Turns out, they're cute and full of positivity! This book contains 2 stories. In the first, Chloe is bummed to be spending part of her vacation going on day trips with her dad. He gets her involved with a carnival that turns out to be a lot of fun. That is, until disaster strikes in the form of a trio of bullies who have a history of bothering Chloe. With a lot of persistence and creativity, the problem is solved in a fantastic way. In the second story, Chloe has trouble communicating with her family's foreign exchange student and things are really awkward between the two girls. Again, Chloie receives some great advice and pushes herself out of her comfort zone and makes a couple of new friends in the process. This book is full of positivity and perseverance.

Loved the plot and storyline of this book and I am sure the middle children will enjoy this book.

I did not know it was a series so I managed to read the first few books before tackling this one!

Recommend you to pick this up

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

This is a graphic novel that families could enjoy sharing together with lots of wisdom between the pages.
Chloes dad is home but she doesn't want to go to the carnival with him. Her mum advises Chloe to tell him how she feels but Chloe is unsure of doing this.
This graphic novel could be read as a stand alone and you don't necessarily need to read the books before it to start it.

Chloe #5 has Chloe's Dad home and spending time with the family.

There's some important life lesson in here. Chloe doesn't necessarily want to go to the carnival with her Dad, but her mom says it's important to tell him. If you don't vocalize your opinion to your friends or family, you won't both be able to enjoy what you plan to do together. There's so many more great bits of mom wisdom throughout this book, and it makes my heart sing! It's super grown up for a book that could easily be for middle graders and young adults.

This book is very cute and a sweet graphic novel. It's something fun to jump into and just enjoy the fun. Especially if you want a little book about family and that makes you feel good.

Four out of five stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and Papercutz for providing me a copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.

I wasn't a huge fan of this French series because Chloe's outlook seemed a bit at odds with American views, but the fifth book is a little better. Chloe spends more time with her family and involved in community activities than worrying about her clothes and boys. There is even an interesting chapter where a group of English students come to Chloe's school for a week, and Chloe struggles to communicate with the girl staying with her family.

These, as predicted, have been hugely popular with my students, especially my English language learners.

This book has two separate stories, both equally engaging. In the first story Chloe helps to plan a carnival with her dad and the community. In the second book, they take in an exchange student from Britain. It had just enough humor and drama to keep kids from about 4th grade and up engaged.
