Invest, Reinvest, Rest by Sonja M. Haggert wasn't the book for me. I don't think I was the right target audience for it. I think this book would be more beneficial for other people to learn from.

Should you add this to your financial toolbox? Short answer, YES.

I enjoyed this book because it taught and reminded me of the foundations of investing in an easy, digestible, manner that included, examples, graphs, check lists, and simple to understand definitions which are important to me as a reader when learning a subject that can be often seen as complicated.

The X factor in this book is the portion on 'financial newsletters' - this is the first time I've seen them mentioned in investing books and I found it valuable to look into when elevating my investment journey. It also frames it so that you can approach it from where you are currently in life, not a blanket solution.

If you are further in your journey, this is a good refresher, if you are just beginning - start here.

Very good book on stock investing for beginners. The information is very useful, to the point and helpful. Sometimes things like stock investing are overcomplicated and this is done in purpose to scare people off. The book inspires and motivated to start with trading.

There are so many books about personal finance. But they are complicated and not easy to follow. Because they try to teach everything.
This book is about what ladies can learn about investing in stocks.
It stays away from everything. But focuses on dividends and how to reinvest them into same or different company.
This gives extra advantage over simple compounding.
Written in an easy language, it is a good book for massess trying to learn about personal finance.
Advice is from author who has real world experience of using these principles.
A very good book that stays clear of complexities that commonly trap self help authors.

I received this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The book caters to extreme novices as main target audience. In the scope of investing, it can be considered basic and rather mediocre advice from a self-taught independent investor whose knowledge stems from college education, connections, personal trial and error and reading, apparently enough to be considered an advisor in the field, although not a professional one. Ultimately, the book is aimed particularly at lazy beginners who want results without putting in proper effort in things such as getting familiarized with terminology, a method which I don't think is realistic. The author uses a lot of words from the field to sound like a professional, while the content is rather simple and repetitive, with a lot of stories designed to sound attractive and little references. There were a few contradictions, mainly between the promise of getting into investing quick without needing to memorize terminology, followed by later statements that you do need to read a lot and manage your portfolio. This initial two-faced bait was coupled with constantly hitching on what people want to hear. You're often put in the position to believe everything you're reading without sufficient evidence, as are a lot of books of this kind, next to some self-marketing and zigzagging. Why 2 stars instead of 1? Because I could still appreciate some of the content and advice provided behind all that, as little as it was, together with the author's enthusiasm and intentions, therefore it was an OK read. But I really had to do my own research and verify the advice, as the author did not manage to gain my trust in regards to advice about how I should spend my money.

This was helpful. I liked that the book wasn’t too long and bogged down with too much detail. It was easy to follow.

This is an incredibly helpful book for people who're interested in joining the market world. It's simplified and informative and unlike other books on the topic, it does not overwhelm you. So, will definitely recommend this gem for beginners!
