They first met, in Hawaii aged 11. Since then, they’ve been best friends, the May Ladies, Jules in Colorado, Lucy in Oxford and Chloe in Melbourne, This Christmas is going to be so different. They are swapping homes, the perfect solution when Chloes’ parents decide to go away this year, leaving her home alone, apart from her flat mate. Add 3 attractive men, and you have a lovely Christmas tale.
This is a lovely read, just what you need to get you into the festive mood; added to that are the 3 very different locations, all so beautifully described that you feel as though you want to experience each one yourself. Perfect comfort reading.

This was a cute and fun holiday read- the three story lines felt like they might be a tiny bit too much to keep track of, but it also introduces many more holiday moments and traditions. I think that I would have loved this with two story lines instead of three, so that I could have focused slightly more. However, it is still highly entertaining, and is a wonderful escape from the stress of normal life!

Thank you to Netgalley, Sandy Barker, and One More Chapter for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

I absolutely loved the concept of this story. I am now trying to figure out how I can do a Christmas swap with international friends!!!! How amazing?!? I feel so mind blown when I think of this and it gives me The Holiday vibes!!! So creative and fun! How great for each of them to be able to experience the kind of Christmas they were hoping for (in terms of climate and traditions)!!! I would say Colorado and England are more traditional to what I know, and Australia sure was different! Christmas Day with no snow, different meal contents, and different ways of celebrating!

I really enjoyed the relationship that forms between each girl and the family that is waiting for them wherever they are going to be celebrating Christmas.
They are all so welcoming, obliging, and treat each girl as if they were their own. And each of the three girls really immersed themselves wherever they are and tries not to hold back or let fear or hesitations stop them from trying new experiences!

One of my favourite things in the Barker books I have read is the use of multiple settings! It sure itches that need to travel in times in which it is not safe to do so! I really enjoy getting to see these places through the characters eyes, especially when they are seeing them for the first time! I think the settings chosen were just great and really suited each of the girls quite well!

If you are looking for a fun swap story, celebrating different Christmas traditions and stepping outside of your comfort zone, give this one a try!!!!

This book is about three women that have been long term friends decide that they want to swap christmases this year. One goes to Australia, one to America and one to England where each of them have very different christmases to what they would have had had they stayed at home.

Although I enjoyed this book it was very similar to the Christmas film “the holiday”. Each of the women meet men on their journeys and the whole story seemed too far fetched to be real. Everything just seems to fall into place for all the women and you can predict the ending of the book we’ll before the book ends.

Wasn’t a bad read but isn’t one that I will be reading again.

What do you do when Christmas is coming, life is a bit samey, and you have a friend who will be living your ideal festive season? Three young women who have known each other since childhood face this dilemma but know exactly what to do - they swap with each other! Lucy wants a proper white Christmas, but lives in England, Jules wants a beach Christmas but lives in snowy Colorado and Chloe wants a traditional Christmas but lives in Melbourne.

How do you cope at Christmas when your families are thousand of miles away, will it be as you imagined? Will you fit right in or be counting the days until you can go home? No one's holiday turns out how they planned and their friendship is tested as well so what exactly will their futures hold as the new year starts?

First of all I really enjoyed this book, it is well written, fun, funny and definitely leaves a warm feeling. The main characters in all locations are great and work well together and apart. It is also totally unrealistic but even though I knew this it didn't matter because you leave reality behind as you start reading.

I was able to read an advanced copy of this thanks to NetGalley and the publishers in exchange for an unbiased review and would recommend it to anyone who wants a hug of a Christmas book. This is definitely one I will reread next year without a doubt.

Adorable, sweet & charming holiday story. Lucy, Jules & Chloe have been friends since they were middle school age. Now they are all grown up & living very different lives. They decided they needed a change & for Christmas one year they all switched places. At first I thought how bizarre, why wouldn’t someone want to go home for Christmas?! But sometimes it’s nice to experience something completely different than what you’ve become accustomed to. Romance is in the air for all three of the women, but in very different ways.

This book would be a perfect read in December, while sitting by a fireplace. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was turned into a Hallmark Holiday movie. The characters are charming and it is a sweet reminder that Christmas is a truly romantic and magical time.

Thanks to NetGalley & the publisher for the ARC!

This was a really lovely Christmassy romance. Very light with no real cliffhangers or jeopardy. I did keep getting slightly confused with the nationalities of the 3 women, but that was down to me not the writer. It was nice that each chapter focussed on a different woman and their romance. It was a really well written escapist read on a wet October afternoon.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read a preview copy of this book.

I’ll be honest, the plot points were hard to keep up with this one! But the fact that it took place at Christmas time (my favorite) made up for the minor confusion. Charming and sweet is how I would describe this breezy rom com novel that is perfect for the holidays!!

Chloe, Lucy and Jules have been friends who met on vacation as young girls. One is from The US, one from England and one from Australia. When they decide to swap places for Christmas the fun begins. Echos rom-com movies but still fun to read. At times got them mixed up,but could just be me. Would highly recommend this book.

The traditional Christmas swap story, but with 3 friends instead of 2.
A lot of plots to keep track of.

Chloe, Jules and Lucy met as children and became friends for life. They come up with a plan to swap homes, families and countries for Christmas. Each woman travels to another country and stays with the others family. A cute story of friendship, love and family. A great mood lifter for these times.

Thanks to netgalley and One More Chapter for the arc

Honestly when I signed up to have a review copy of this book I had fallen in love with the cover - I didn’t realise how hard I'd fall in love with the book. Is it possible to fall in love with three guys in one book? I wish i could start it all again. If your perfect christmas is a white one, filled with hot chocolate, cozy fires, and big natural christmas trees; it's in this book. If your perfect christmas is surrounded by family, a home cooked christmas dinner and spending time in a cute little neighborhood; It’s in this book. If your perfect christmas would be warm, spending time on a beach and spending time with friends; thats right you’ve guessed it it’s in this book.

I rate this book five stars and wish I could give it more.

This was such a sweet & enjoyable read! I loved Lucy, Chloe & Jules and their friendship. I thought each story was well-written and suited each of them. I speed through this, wanting to know what happened to them & their Christmas romances! This is also the first story I've read with a summer Christmas & now I need more!

I absolutely adored this book. It was so heartwarming and wholesome.

The Christmas Swap follows three friends: Jules, Chloe, and Lucy, who live in different parts of the world, but are best friends. They decide to trade places for the holiday season. Chloe, who is from Australia, spends her vacation with Lucy's parents in England. Lucy, who wants a white Christmas, jets off to Colorado, to spend her Christmas with Jules family, and Jules, who is over the cold, has an orphans christmas with Chloe's friends in Australia. They each have no idea just how much a simple christmas is going to change their lives.

I loved how heartwarming this book was. The different families were so welcoming to the girls and made them feel like they were a part of that family.

I also really enjoyed the different traditions and families that were represented. While one gathering was large and casual, another was intimate with just the parents, and the last was formal with friends.

I would highly recommend this book for anyone who wants a christmas read with rom-com vibes. My only regret was, it made me want more. I need to know how their lives turned out!

I know it’s still September, but I am ready for all the Christmas joy and romance. 🎄The Christmas Swap by Sandy Barker is the perfect holiday read. Best friends Chloe, Jules and Lucy swap their traditional christmas experiences. Conveniently all finding love 😉. Lucy and Will are my favourite couple, and I loved how awkward and how quickly they fell for each other. I also enjoyed the different cities and Melbourne is now at the top of my dream vacation list! I did sometimes find the 3 storylines slightly confusing and often had to remind myself who I was reading about at the beginning of a new chapter. But by the end I was fully invested in each story. Grab a blanket, hot chocolate and this book! The Christmas Swap is out on October 16th. Thank you @netgalley and @harpercollinsuk for this advanced copy!

P.S. How have I never read a Christmas book before?! Send me all your Christmas themed recommendations please!

A fun filled read about three best friends Chloe, Jules and Lucy who swap their homes and families at Christmas. Set among the winter wonderland of Colorado, the sunny skies of Melbourne, and rainy old England; it’s just the break each girl needs and if they find love along the way, what could be more perfect?

This is the first book I have read by this author and it won’t be the last. A lovely festive story which was an easy and entertaining read.

Having read Sandy's previous books, I was thrilled to be given a sneak peek at the new festive novel so I can prepare for the blog tour.

2020 is a year of not travelling anywhere due to the global pandemic, so I was thrilled to have the May Ladies tale me around the world at Christmas. I loved how they all swapped to experience a different type of Christmas - from freezing cold USA to sunny Australia to damp UK.

In each location, the May Ladies also found a gorgeous man so this is a book full of romance and travel. Personally I would have wished to travel to Australia for the sun and to meet the dog, Dexter but the rum hot chocolates in the USA were also very tempting.

A fabulous book, with great stories in each of the three countries, all interwoven by the catch up calls - thank goodness for video calls. I definitely felt more festive reading this and we are still in late September!

I will polish this up more for the blog tour but wanted to get some thoughts down now.

My first Christmas book of the year and it was perfect! Three best friends decide to swap countries for Christmas and the settings are perfection - a snowy Christmas in the US, a sunshine filled one in Australia and a traditional cosy UK Christmas too. The three main characters are likeable and the relationships they fall into are heartwarming. This was such an easy read and leaves you feeling happy and totally satisfied. I really recommend this book!
