This series by Julie is one of my favorite in the genre, I could not put it down and another must read author for me and one I recommend to avid and casual readers alike.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Teen for providing me with an eARC of this title to read and give my honest review. The opinions her are my own.
More stories from Kagawa's fey universe? YES PLEASE. And Ethan's story? LET'S GO!
It's Ethan's turn to be thrust into the land of Fairy. Despite him wanting to protect everyone from it, he has no choice but to find himself immersed in it just as his sister had.
I love Ethan. He's grown into a smart young man who is fiercely loyal to his friends and family. And he'll do anything to keep them safe, even when it means entering into a world where he never wanted to go. He's a little bit touch, a little bit of an ass, and a lot bit full of anger. I enjoyed watching him work through that somewhat in this story. And I enjoyed watching it happen because he met someone: Kenzie. She's also kick ass, and steals Ethan's heart. And then there's Kieran, the princeling. He's helping Ethan and Kenzie navigate his realm. I love how he connects us to The Iron Fey stories.
The plot is full of lots of fey magic. Lots of action and world building. And of course, plot twists because this would not be a Kagawa book without those! Her writing for this book is spot on. I may love this series as much as The Iron Fey when it's all said and done. But we shall see.
I do think you could read this without having the background from The Iron Fey BUT I think that series really gives you so much more to go on and makes things easier to understand in this story (mostly with who the characters who make appearances are and what the background has to do with Ethan).
Overall, I once again truly enjoyed this book and I'm excited to dive into the next one!

The Lost Prince is a spin-off book in the Iron Fey series, giving Ethan his own story. I enjoyed returning to the Nevernever and revisiting some old characters and also experiencing Ethan's story. If you are a fan of the Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr I think you will really like this book.

Exciting and engaging from the very beginning, The Iron Prince is guaranteed to lock onto your imagination and never let go! The stunning world created by Kagawa never fails to entertain with it’s vivid beauty and adventure and one thing’s for sure, The Lost Prince offers more excitement and more adventure with every page and will leave you asking, no, begging, for the next instalment, pronto!

A spin off of "The Iron Fey" series, "The Lost Prince" is the first book in a new series that follows Ethan – whom you met as a little boy, and yes, he's the one who started everything when he went to the land of the fey and was replaced by a changeling. And now he's grown up and has his own story to tell.

After years of trying to deal with his family and keep the fey away from him, he finds himself in a situation – along with two of his friends. So off he goes back to Nevernever to save the girl he likes – and there he meets up with some faves from "The Lost Prince" and get to know a few new faces.

If you loved the first series, this book definitely holds up and brings some new colors to a world fans already know and love. I had a blast with it.

I won't be able to leave a review for this book; I requested it in a past lifetime of my NetGalley use (over ten years ago) and it no longer fits with my reading interests. If I ever do end up reading it I'll come back and update this!

Obsessed with this whole series!! I loved the original trilogy and this one did not disappoint. Julie's writing is so good and fits these books so well!

I actually reviewed this on November 1, 2012, and posted that review on Goodreads and LibraryThing, and also at Amazon, and have no idea why it's it not here. Here is the review I posted, though:

I've heard such great things about Julie Kagawa's Iron Fey series, even though for some strange reason I've never read it myself (don't hate me! I kept meaning to but never found the time), and I loved her book The Immortal Rules, so I jumped at the chance to read The Lost Prince. I was really hoping that I would be able to follow it since I hadn't read The Iron Fey books, and I wasn't disappointed. If anything, The Lost Prince has made me determined to go back and read the other books because if they're half as good as this one (and if the reviews are to be believed, they are), then I'm going to love them too! The Lost Prince was wildly enjoyable, and the world of the Fey has never been as enticing as it is in Ms. Kagawa's very capable hands!

I loved that the book was told from the male POV, and that said male was Ethan Chase. He was the kind of guy that you want to get to know so you can break him out of his outwardly tough shell and find the gooey, soft center that you just know is hiding in there. Enter one extremely nosy reporter for the school newspaper by the name of Kenzie who, no matter how many times Ethan tries to bully her into staying away from him (for her own good of, course), doesn't take no for an answer, add a good sized dollop of major chemistry, and you have a couple to root for! I'm not kidding - they were so cute together! I think it's mostly because Ethan had always had to push people away because the fey are notorious trouble makers, and anyone who gets close to him could, and usually does, get hurt, and Kenzie just refused to accept that, because she saw something in him that was worth fighting for. She was also tough as nails when she needed to be, and Ethan was able to finally let her in because she proved to him that he could trust her and count on her not only when things were easy, but when they were very, very rough. She also rolled with the punches when she found herself in the fairy realm face to face with a sarcastic talking cat, who agreed to lead her and Ethan to the Iron Realm to talk to his sister Meghan, the queen of the Iron Fey, whom he had hadn't seen or spoken to since she left the family behind when he was just a kid to become the queen. He had to find her to let her know that outlaw fairies and half-fae were disappearing from the human realm and that he was being chased by some type of fairy that he had never seen before, and who were really, really bad news.

I have to say that I absolutely loved this book and my first glimpse into Never Never, and after reading about the Iron Fey, along with all of the other interesting characters, I can't wait to find out more! Not only am I waiting impatiently for the next book in this series to come out, but I'm definitely going to get my hands on a copy of the books in the Iron Fey series so I can find out more about Meghan, Ash and Puck, and find out just what happened to Ethan when he was a young boy to make him hate the Fey as much as he does! This was a very exciting book with likable characters, lots of character growth, and a plot that moves along at a great pace and keeps you wanting more! :D

While I love the Iron Fay series, it's been year since I picked up the books from it as my interests have changed since I originally requested this book. At this time, I won't be reading or reviewing this title as it does not fit my current interests or the interests of followers of my blog/Instagram. If that changes, I will update with a review. Thank you.

I had initially marked this book as I will not give feedback, as I requested/DLs in 2012 and upon a review of my netgalley titles I was no longer interested in this title as my reading tastes have changed since then. In trying to improve my netgalley ratio I have learned that titles marked as not giving feedback do not count as a review. So writing this to thank you for the approval but I will not be reading or reviewing at this time. If that changes in the future I will leave a review on instagram, goodreads, storygraph, and amazon.

Having read all of the Iron Fey books, finally knowing Megan's brother Ethan has been worth the long wait! This book fleshed out an already amazingly built world! I loved getting to know him and see things from his point of view! Highly recommend!

I love the Iron Fey series, so I was very excited to see that the story continued, this time from Ethan's perspective. When last we saw Ethan in the series, he was a little kid. Now he's a teenager and incredibly surly. Part of that is because he's a teenager but most of it is because he doesn't want anyone to get to close to him because if they do, the fae could use that relationship against him.

But while he's spent much of his life pretending that he can't see them and doesn't know about them, eventually he can't pretend anymore and has to do the one thing he swore he'd never do: go back to the Nevernever and find Meghan.

Ultimately, though, this novel didn't really work for me and I almost gave up on it---until Ethan ended up back in the Nevernever. I think ultimately I don't love the world anywhere near as much as I love Meghan (and Ash and Puck) and the promise of getting to see one or all of them kept me going.

I'm not sure where the disconnect came from, although part of it may be that I didn't really like Ethan, even though I understood why he acted the way he did. I find that I love books so much more when I like the people in them. And I didn't really care about Kenzie, although I liked her far more than I did Ethan.

Even so, while the first half or so dragged for me, I liked the second half much better. (Basically from the part where Ethan enters the Iron Realm.)

HOT GUYS AND JULIE KAGAWA'S SEXY PROSE? What's there not to love, even after 8 years? You know you're either a Stan forever or really thirsty to remember THE LOST PRINCE after 8 years, and I think I'm definitely both.

Unfortunately I think this author's writing is not for me. I really wanted to get into this book but I spent the entire time feeling confused, lost and just bored. I don't think this can be read as a standalone because I literally felt like I was reading the 3 book in a series or something and there was so much I was supposed to understand that I just..didn't.

I love this book and series so much! I cannot get enough of Kagawa’s fey world. These series are so beautiful and incredible.

Couldn't download this so I can't really review it. Seems really interesting though, sounds like something I would check out.

Another amazing book written by author Julie Kagawa, like I've said before I haven't found a book that I haven't loved by this fantastic author. This is one of my favorite series of hers and I can't get enough of this storyline.

Going into this book I honestly wasn't sure what to expect. I've pretty much gotten out of the fantasy genre so it's been a while since I've read one. I'm trying to get caught back up with all my NetGalley books, however, so this one was a must read.

I never actually read the original Iron Fey series. I started book one but didn't finish it because I honestly wasn't that impressed. I didn't understand what all the fuss was about because, to me, it definitely didn't live up to the hype that surrounded it. Though that was in 2011 so things could be different if I tried to read it now and my opinion could change. I did read enough to get the gist of the story though, to understand the dynamic between all of the characters and what was going on. So going into The Lost Prince, I did have a little bit of an understanding about Ethan's backstory, just not the full details.

Even though I no longer read in the fantasy genre (it just isn't my thing anymore) I did actually enjoy The Lost Prince. It was neat to see the development of Ethan's character after being introduced to him in The Iron King and how all of the events of that series affected him as Meghan's brother. It's not often that you get to see how the actions of main characters impact the stories of the supporting characters so it's really cool when a series or book spins off in the other character's point of view.

The Lost Prince was full of magic and action. There were twists and turns in every direction and you found yourself completely enveloped in the Nevernever. In my personal opinion, the story did have some slow parts but, overall, it was a great read. I really liked Kenzie's character and the other supporting characters were refreshing and threw in a nice touch of humor when it was needed.

Not a bad read if you're into the genre.

Rating: 3 stars.

Hello my loves, I can't even begin to explain how much I loved this story. Julie writes in such a way that once you start reading you don't want to put it down. I really enjoy this series I hadn't gone into the series because I didn't have the other books on my shelves, except the second one. I wanted to be able to move through all three books very quickly.

Having read this one, I can't tell you how glad I was to have all three. Julie took us back into Iron Fey world where we got to see Meghan the Iron Queen again, and OMG her world has changed and poor Ethan is once again pulled back into the world of the Fey and nothing, absolutely nothing is going the way he needs it to.

From the get go this story moved really quickly each and every single scene bringing something new and wild and fun. Poor Ethan found himself running back and forth between in the worlds. As the story unfolds I found myself remembering snippets from the other books and falling back in the love with the characters. I didn't put this book down at all, it was amazingly good and I quickly finished it so I could jump into the second one.

When I say the action unfolds quickly I mean really quickly and as much as I would like to say it, this books isn't for someone who hasn't read the series and knows the kind of background facts you would need to make this a rich and encompassing tale. While Julie does summarize a little bit and give glimpse of the past, as much as Ethan thinks he knows he doesn't know everything and his shadowed and one sided perspective makes him miss the true importance of certain actions, conversations and people. It doesn't take away from the story but this is definitely a must read in series order book. I loved seeing old characters, catching up with Ethan, meeting new characters and reading as the prophecy began to unfold. I found myself quickly reading so I could know what happens and I loved reading so I could react to the different scenes.

There are moments within the story that make me want to yell at certain characters, I wanted to ask some of them if they had brains, I side-eyed the hell out of others, and I called B.S on more than one occasion. Ethan had issues with the Fey and I get why he's so angry but man he's beyond short sighted and extremely prejudiced. I kept having to remind myself that he's a kid who has living through a tragedy that changed his life and his family forever and he gets to be angry. However his anger at time was so silly, especially when it meant he missed out on getting help he really needed.

I highly recommend the series and the ones before this including The Iron Fey: The Iron Queen, The Iron King, The Iron Daughter and the Iron Knight. Oh man so much unfolds due to the events from The Iron Knight and that's pretty much where this sub series kicks off. If you love the Fey, witty characters, fun and adventures and of course our favorite mischievous character, then this series is for you.

★★★★☆
I hope you love this as much as I do, It was a fun and adventurous read. Happy Reading

Wow, Julie once again you surpass yourself! This is great!

I loved this new story and how it involves creatures we saw in the last Iron Fey book, you took this element and gave it new a new life.

I loved seeing Ethan all grown up and all badass!! Kudos!!
Although I got a bit sad seeing all the troubles he's had and how much having the Sight has affected his life, hopefully things will better (?) at least I hope so... he deserves it.
Kenzie is a really sweet and brave girl, I quite like her and I kinda suspected that thing with her I just didn't want to believe it, but you are an evil author Julie! >.<
And I was so happy to see Keirran, he's great too! But I hope he make amends on the next book because I'm not very happy with him.

We also get to see glimpses of the old gang, Meghan, my beloved Ash and Puck. But we get to see quite a bit more of Grimalkin, yay!!

Thankfully the cliffhanger was sort of bearable so I'll try to relax because I know the next one will be packed with action and definitely lots of emotions so I think I better be prepared for that.
