My Fallen Saint by J. Kenner a four-star read that you will fall for. This is number one in the Fallen Saint series and I cant wait for number two, as I am sure that it will take all of the parts I loved about this story and just explore them further, I was so close to giving this five-stars but there was just something I couldn’t put my finger on. I am hoping that the more I read the author the more I will get used to the style and enjoy it more, sometimes it just takes a little while to get you used to their descriptive style. It was so well plotted that it unfolded like a flower, and that isn’t something you come across that often and that’s why am so eager to get my hands on the rest of this trilogy as I wonder where the storyline will take us. Pick it up if you fancy a great story.

Ellie and Alex.

They used to be in love for a short while ten years ago.

She was only 16 when they met. He was a couple of years older and working for her uncle.

The uncle she was living with after both her parents had passed away.

A year later her uncle was killed and Ellie was left all alone in the world. But she still had Alex. Right? Nope. After their first night together he vanished and she hasn't seen him or heard from him since.

Now she's back home in Laguna Cortez, California, to find out who really killed her uncle and to write an article about mysterious philantropist Devlin Saint's charity organization.

Let the fun/mysterious/sexy/dangerous times begin ...

What will happen with Devlin & Ellie?
Will there be a happily ever after?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺

I really enjoyed reading this.

I was a bit worried at first. One, because nobody could ever take Damien's place in our hearts. And then ... I was worried about this being a trilogy... with two possible cliffhangers! Ugh. I hate those.

But I really wanted to read this. And I loved it. And the cliffy wasn't really bad at all. I'm sure I can remember what happened until January! #Bookalzheimers

I loved Ellie and Devlin. I loved the whole setting, the mysteries, the sparks, the friends. Almost everything.

I wasn't a fan of Ellie's constant whining about how she's so mad at Alex for leaving her back then. She just does not stop with that almost until the end.

But I really loved this story. It's so full of ... so much! So much potential for an epic love story. It was sexy, mysterious, dangerous, exciting... and so much more! A great new series ... a really worthy Stark competition!!!

I can't wait to see where this story will take us in the next books.

And can someone please get Netflix on the phone for this!!!??

► MY FALLEN SAINT was a very exciting & mysterious & sparky & sexy & heartbreaking first book in a brand new epic romantic suspense series! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Devlin - this one is MINE! ☺

I LOVE this new series. Cannot wait until the second book.
Ellie has had a tragic childhood, losing both her parents and then her uncle a few years later. Her only happiness is found with Alex, her best friend and lover. But the day after her uncle is found murdered, Alex disappears, and Ellie never hears from him again.
Ellie becomes a reporter and goes back to her hometown to find out the truth about her uncle and write a story about an organization and founder, Devlin Saint, who help woman who have been rescued from human trafficking. But when her past and present collide, sparks fly, lies are uncovered, and Ellie is faced with the knowledge that everything she believed true was a lie. Can she overcome the pain of her childhood to find happiness in the present?
The characters are real, their pain is felt, and couldn't help but root for Ellie.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Ok- I didn't pay attention that this was part of a trilogy and I am not excited about cliffhangers, so forewarning to the impatient, instant gratification people like me out there.

Elsa Holmes- Ellie has had a very tough past: her mother died and her father was murdered she was a child, her uncle, Peter, raises her until he is killed when she is a teenager, and she remains heartbroken from a first love, but honestly love in general has broken her heart.

Ellie returns to her hometown to interview the elusive Devlin Saint, founder of the Devlin Saint Foundation a non-profit organization who helps women and children. The attraction is immediate with Ellie and Devlin and makes for some steamy scenes you will love in typical J. Kenner fashion.

This story takes on a mystery and twists that leave you wondering and unfortunately waiting. But at least you'll have something to look forward to with the promise of more sparks with these two.

Oh how I loved these flawed characters and their intense, deep connection. A multi-layered story with intrigue, lies, danger, secrets, and more secrets. This will take you on a thrilling emotional roller coaster ride, full of surprises, twists, and love scenes that will set you on fire. I was hooked from the first chapter till the end, by this author’s phenomenal writing.

Elsa “Ellie” Holmes is a investigative reporter with The Spall Monthly. She has returned home to Laguna Cortez a place that has been nothing but death and loss, sharp edges and pain in her life. A place she swore she would never return to. Now ten years later the ghosts of her past draws her back.

Ellie is here for her job, to do a profile on the Devlin Saint Foundation one of the worlds foremost Philanthropic organizations. And to interview Devlin Saint the brilliant and generous philanthropist, who is known to be handsome, arrogant, powerful, and a loner. But Ellie is really here to find out who killed her Uncle Peter, and she wont stop till she gets all the answers she needs... even though she might not like them. Will the rush and the thrill she craves lead her to the surrender she can’t live without?

Swoon! Devlin Saint is a billionaire Philanthropist, with a new identity, secrets and a buried past. He possesses a dangerous edge, filled with power and strength combined. But what happens when his past meets his present? Will Prince Charming be able to let go of his first love despite the crackling energy between them? Or will the secrets between them destroy everything they once had? Hang on to your seats because this series is just getting started! I need the next book now!!!

Gritty romantic suspense. Stormy relationship ahead, so brace yourself for intense emotions, dark secrets, and a couple that would honour the big screen.

I am obsessed with this plot. The romance is a masterpiece of impossible needs and frustrated desire because the main characters bonded as a young couple and then tragedy severed their future together. Ellie is one strong woman who has devoted her life to uncovering criminal secrets, yet she carries a personal scar that flares to life when she meets larger-than-life Devlin Saint.

Wow, the interactions between these two are electrifying, charging the plot with ardent passion, mysterious regrets, and arousing confrontation. He is one wall of refusal while she is a rolling wave of pent-up emotion. I loved and yelled at the injustice of their present situation while I was relishing every second of the barriers between them crumbling and giving way to furious and tantalizing intimacy.

And the suspense plot is harsh and inspiring and powerfully engaging. Saint will open up a well of ugly truths that Ellie has to battle with all her will, and it is amazing. I found it fascinating as he explains the nature of his enterprise, why she is researching it as well as other sad links to the town, and the dangers that might be coming at them from the unknown. Besides the gripping plot and romance, this book stands out because of the sensitive crime it tackles. There is an interview of a victim that gives a glimpse into a horrifying situation, but it would be the seed of an incredible side story. I wish that were written, too.

Something I didn’t like? When the characters turn into maniacs who look for gratification from strangers on a regular basis, but at least it has a psychological explanation here XD

This is a phenomenal start of a trilogy that blends mind-blowing secrets, criminal endeavors, and a love story that refuses to relent. This author has sharpened her storytelling skills once more, and it is a sure bet. Wholeheartedly recommend it.

A second chance, flaming HOT, must read romance!

Ellie and Devlin were young and in love but tragedy and a surprising disappearance separate them. Until years later when Ellie returns to her hometown to investigate the details surrounding her uncle’s death. As she digs deeper and deeper into the details, and a surprising reappearance of Devlin, she is painting a clearer picture of the people in her life and the roles they may have played in shaping her future and current situation. Just when you think you know what’s going on and what happens next, you get thrown a curve ball and realize you have no idea! I love the mystery in the writing and that the story keeps you on your toes at all times! The chemistry between Ellie and Devlin was HOT and they have this push/pull relationship which just increases the angst tenfold!

My Fallen Saint ends in a cliffhanger and I can honestly say I.CAN’T.WAIT for the next book! This was my first book by this author and it definitely won’t be my last!

I love J Kenner's books. I completely fell in love with her Stark series, so I was very eager to read My Fallen Saint which is the first book in her new series.
Kenner does a fantastic job creating alpha males that any woman will fall in love with. Ellie is an ex-cop turned investigative reporter who returns home for two reasons. 1. To write a story about philanthropist Devil Saint 2. Uncover more details about her Uncle's death which caused her to flee so long ago.
Both Saint and Ellie are characters with a lot of depth and tragic backstories. I loved the relationship between them and the chemistry was perfect. I can't wait to continue the series and find out what other obstacles will be thrown in their way.

The story of Devlin and Ellie is a good one, with a troubled past and unfinished business Alex leave Ellie. But Ellie need closures and when they meet again the fire ignites. The story is good but don't like the cliffhanger.
I received an ARC from Netgalley for a honest review.

"You didn't say goodbye."
"No."
"You left me with nothing but a note."
"Yes."
"You didn't even say you loved me."

Ellie thought she would never see Alex again. And it a way, she hasn't. The person standing in front of her is no longer Alex. There are similarities in appearance. But the cold and distant person before her now is no longer the boy she loved. He's a man she doesn't even know.

Devlin Saint knows where his life stands now. But when he sees Ellie again, everything becomes blurred. He understands the best thing to do is to send Ellie back to New York. As far away from him as he can get her. But things are not working out that way. Partly due to circumstance and partly due to the fact that he just can't say goodbye to her again.

I can't wait for the next book. There so much more we do not know. Great story!

Why I haven’t read anything by the author before I don’t know but this will won’t happen again for sure.
I loved this book, the characters and their story is amazing and the fact that the heroine is such a badass one was my high while reading it.
The suspense had me on the edge, the chemistry was so hot and I must admit that I’m a big fan of secrets and second chance romance so this book was a great escape.

I knew J. Kenner has an amazing gift when it comes to writing engaging stories about tortured characters with way more than meets the eye, but My Fallen Saint had me going, “Damien and Nikki who??”

It follows Ellie, a young investigative journalist, who returns to her hometown after years away to investigate her uncles death and interview the ever elusive philanthropist, Devlin Saint. Of course, they meet and sparks fly, however, Devlin, is not quite what he appears to be. He is hiding a massive secret from the world and Ellie that could destroy their relationship. There is discovery after discovery, which leaves you wondering what happens next throughout. I loved it and am already looking forward to book #2 in the series.

Ellie goes back to her hometown in order to get answers about her uncle’s murder. When he became her guardian after her dad was killed in the line of duty, her uncle’s assistant, Alex, became her world. On the night her uncle was killed, Alex disappears and life is never the same for Ellie. When she comes back for an interview her editor has set up, the surprises keep coming. I don’t want to give anything away, but this book will keep you on the edge of your seat. I couldn’t put it down and I can’t wait for the next one with these characters.

I enjoyed My Fallen Saint overall but it seem very similar to the Stark books. Ellie and Devlin have crazy amount of chemistry between them but he’s a tortured soul and their budding relationship is put to the test. The book ends on a cliffhanger and we have to wait for more. I’m honestly hoping this isn’t another drawn out series but we will see.

I really enjoyed everything about this book. The characters were easily to like and the plot was captivating. Saint's background was intriguing and I kept wanting to know more. The overall storyline was suspenseful and I really enjoyed how the characters had a history. They mystery surrounding how things played out was executed brilliantly.

Overall, I liked this book a lot and I would definitely recommend it to others that like this genre.

Ellie grows to be a smart confident women determined to find out what happened to her uncle.Devlin is a philanthropist, with dark secrets. He is determined to tell Ellie to run. But she digs her heels in . What a great story . This book is everything you expect from J. Kenner and more.

Another series on the horizon.

Julie Kenner is wickedly talented on stealing our hearts with the anti-hero and succumbing us to the ever emotions within her stories. My Fallen Saint was exciting yet heart-melting, thrilling yet saddening.

"You want the danger. You want me to throw a match into the gasoline and make you burn."

Ellie and Devlin tear up the pages with their angst and their tug-o-war relationship. Is the good philanthropist as squeaky clean as he looks in the media or is their a hidden agenda behind closed doors? Can Ellie forgive and move on from her past? Can her cement walls crumble.

I am all for a strong, mighty, take no prisoner woman in a romance; but wow! Ellie takes the cake. She is fierce as all get out. The information she receives as a journalist and the obstacles/ emotions she gets into with Devlin; I would have said 'screw you' and packed my bags. I think this is why we fall in love with Kenner's work. Even though what we 'think' we would do, we root for the female who will be brave enough to fight for the anti-hero, to be there for him for thick and thin, to push through his own insecurities. And that takes courage, guts. Bravo for J. Kenner to writing books such as this one and the Stark series that let us dive in, to relish that female power... and of course have that dominant male who lets us surrender.

"...of course, love scenes that set fire to the page."

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was an adrenaline, danger seeking romance with lots of hot erotic moments and plenty of angst. Alex is Ellie's first love but when he walks away leaving her to nurse a broken heart she vows to forget him. Her uncle dies and she's back in her childhood town only to encounter Devlin who reminds her so much of Alex. He exposes his secrets but tries to convince her to return to New York. What follows is a series of push and pull moments where both can't get enough of each other despite the danger.
Overall, a thrilling, sexy novel with plenty of steam but very little heart. Just two very broken people still seeking vendication.
