J. Kenner has literally given me her best book in my eyes. Ellie is the heroine in this book she is broken so broken and in this book you see her journey to healing. Devlin he comes off as difficult but in the end he is just what Ellie needs to mend her. GREAT READ from J. Kenner.

Oh my, what a drama! I was in a funk but this book easily took me out of it. I can't wait to read what comes next. So many secrets! Trust is tested between Devlin and Ellie with feelings of abandonment and betrayal. But most prominent is the events and people that keep popping up against them. You will always be rooting for them because Ellie has a good rational head on her shoulders. And Devlin will punish himself if necessary to keep her safe. To keep her from hurting. Plus he is a sexy, good hearted, powerful man mixed with a tormented soul trying to make amends for a dark past. All that, just makes him irresistible. You will devour this book and will need your questions answered because there are a few unresolved issues and the plot thickens...

Oh how I love J.Kenner and the Stark Security series! This time it’s Emma and Antonio’s story, and boy is this a couple with a lot of chemistry. J.Kenner knows how to write steamy, suspense filled, and well written books, and this book is no exception. Loved the premise of the story, and boy did these two fall hard and fast for each other. Loved the regular players in the Stark books coming into play in this story, especially Quince and Denny. Quick read because the story flows so well, jammed packed with lots of the hot and steamy love scenes you learn to expect from this author, really enjoyed this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.

Amazing story! Five gigantic stars! You know your in for a good time when you crack the pages of this authors book. Saint and El’s story is shadowed with murder and secrets but El’s need for truth brings some harsh stuff to light!

What did I like? This author really knows how to set the stage for some tangible lust between two people! I could feel the flames from the heat that Saint and El produced. Secondly the story itself just sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I’m anxiously awaiting book two!

Recommend or buy? Who doesn’t have a shelf for this author? You know your guaranteed a good time when you pick up a book from this author! Saint was incredible!

Thoughts for the author? Sensational story.... five stars! I loved it! I received a ARC but my thoughts and opinions are always my own. Really need that next book!

Devlin Saint operates one of the world’s foremost international philanthropic organizations. But he’s also a man with a dangerous secret. One he’ll do whatever it takes to protect. And when investigator Ellie Holmes turns her attention to an unsolved murder, she finds herself caught in a web of intrigue and passion as Devlin draws her closer and closer.

I’ve read other books from this author and I was excited to read this book.
The story was fast-paced and intriguing, but I did struggle a bit with Devlin and Ellie’s relationship, this is the first book in a series so there’s more to come to the story and I’m sure it’ll get better with book two.
Overall I did enjoy it and I’m so glad it didn’t end on a bad cligffhanger.

This was a great, sexy, romantic suspense. I enjoyed diving into J.Kenner's new series and see the characters get a second chance. I am excited to read the next book in the series.

Devlin and Ellie will certainly give Damien and Nikki some stiff competition! Same emotional angst and plot twists we’ve come to expect from JKenner but set in a different world. And as much as I love Nikki I think Ellie is a much stronger character. Can’t wait to see who the villian(s) will be! Make sure this one gets added to your TBR list. You won’t be sorry you did!

My fallen saint is the first book of a trilogy and makes us meet Ellie and Devlin.

We immediately enter in the heroin's head because the first chapters make us discover her past which is very dark. Indeed, she lost her parents when she was a child. So she was raised by her uncle, Peter, who was killed when she was a teenager. I can't help thinking of Spiderman now that I'm writing it! On top of that, her first love broke her heart at the same time. From there, one can only understand her departure from his hometown.

After this dive into her past, here we are, ten years later. She became an investigative journalist and returned to the region. To feel alive, Ellie takes a taste of the adrenaline that her motorcycle gives her and that is perhaps what makes her excel in her profession. But what motivates her return is her decision to investigate Peter's death.

In parallel, she must interview Devlin. Devlin is the founder of a non-profit organization dedicated to helping women and children who have suffered horrific crimes. At first glance, there is nothing special to discover about him but the mystery that surrounds him leads to a lot of speculation on his account.

The relationship between these heroes is explosive. The spark that arises between them is enough to make us understand that they're destined each to other, even when Devlin does everything to repel Ellie. Indeed, for once, we have a story where it is the girl who chases the guy and it feels good to see a woman who knows what she wants and acts accordingly. It is refreshing.

The romance is a real page-turner. It held me captive from A to Z.

However, where we are even more addicted, it is in the plot that is developed in addition to the romance.

The circumstances surrounding Peter's death spark our investigative streak. With Ellie, I quickly put together a few theories. If some have proven to be correct, I am still not recovered from the great twist offered to us at the beginning of the novel.

Then there is a whole gallery of characters who evolve around the heroes. Ronan, a friend of Devlin's, intrigues me a lot. I think I would love to have a book about him. Ditto for Lamar. I have a little trouble for him because we feel that he would like to leave the friend zone with Ellie but he looks like a good guy. I really liked Brandie, Ellie's best friend. Despite a bimbo name that should not be trusted, Brandy is the archetype of the woman who has her feet on the ground and who will cheer you up with cookies. She suffered a lot so when she became a couple with Christopher, a part of me could not help not trusting him. After all, we don't know him.

My fallen saint ends on a cliffhanger. Many questions remain unanswered even if part of the mystery around Devlin is solved and I can't wait to know what J. Kenner has in store for us.

In conclusion, I really liked J. Kenner's universe and characters. I was literally spellbound by her story and I will stamp with impatience while waiting for the release of book 2.

ARC provided by NetGalley for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book very much...there were a lot of unanswered questions, which I hope will be answered with future books in the series. Excited to continue this new series by J. Kenner!

This was an o.k story. I enjoyed the plot and some of the characters, although I found the main female character annoying, I appreciated her drive and loyalty to her friends.
The romance was a bit underwhelming, but there were aspects that I liked.
Overall, this was an ok read.

Love past books from J Kenner, and was excited to read the first book in a new series from this author.

Eliie comes back to her hometown after ten years. she left heartbroken and devastated over her Uncle's murder and losing her first love when he disappeared one night.
Her first night back, she meets the mysterious Devlin Saint and tries to uncover his secrets.

This book took me a while to get into. I think it was the back and forth feelings of hot and cold between Ellie and Devlin. I know why the author did this, but to me it got old.
The ending provides a cliffhanger and readers will have to wait until the second book in 2021 to get answers.

Thank you Netgalley and publishers for this advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

It was hot and they chemistry. Ellie comes back to the town where she grew up to interview Devlin. They meet and sparks. He's got a past and of course that comes back in the climax of the story that almost ruins them. Their chemistry is intense, steamy and full of angst and a slow burn.

At the start of this book, it seemed as though it was going to be a predictable story but i was pleasantly surprised at how fast i read it and entertained i was. Ellie is full of fire and doesn't back down from danger. She is a investigative reporter determined to find out the truth of her uncle's murder. So much suspense and drama and intrigue throughout this story as the journey Devlin and Ellie are on push their relationship to the limits.

Wow! I absolutely love Ellie and Devlin’s story. I have been a fan of J. Kenner and the Stark Series and I’m so happy I was picked to read this new series. Ellie is a woman who is a former police officer and daughter of former police chief who was killed. Ellie has had a lot of death in her life as a child due to the loss of her parents and her Uncle Pete who was also killed by someone associated with The Wolf. The Wolf is a known bad guy. Devlin Saint runs a foundation that helps people who have been victims of trafficking, drugs, or other issues. He’s got a past and Ellie is wanting to know more about him and she’s going to do a story on him. She’s now an investigative reporter and back in her home town where he also lives. Devlin reminds her of someone from her past. This is a great book and I can’t wait for more in this series. Very steamy NSFW scenes that Kenner is well known for.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced reading copy. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

If you have read J.Kenner before, I think you pretty much know what to expect with this one. It's a slow burn, with sultry setting and mood and a little bit of mystery/crime to solve. Devlin Saint is one distant, mega-rich, complex yet irresistible ML. The FL is likeable enough with a strong mind. I do like the story but I cannot say it has anything that keeps me at the edge of my seat or make my toes curl.

An honest review thanks to NetGalley. I am a fan of J. Kenner and was excited to start this book. It was great, I loved the suspense factor between Devlin and Ellie. I loved how the book started in the past and we got to see a snap shot of Alex and Ellie's relationship before we were brought into the present. I can't wait until the second book as the mystery surrounding Devlin continued to grow and make me want more answers!

4.5 Stars
Devlin Saint is a philanthropist, trying to right the wrongs created by so many criminals. He created the Devlin Saint Foundation (DSF) to rescue, educate, and train young people who have been recovered from sexual traffic rings. Ellie Holmes is an ex-cop and current reporter who is tasked with writing a story about the work done by Devlin and the DSF. As she digs deeper into the story, she discovers some unexpected surprises. Devlin follows a code of behavior that doesn't allow room for anything with Ellie. Ellie is used to people leaving her, having been orphaned early and losing her uncle/guardian a few years later. She has a very short-term mindset regarding relationships: one night is always enough. She is drawn to Devlin and wants to 'scratch her itch' but Devlin resists.

At the start of this book, it seemed as though it was going to be a predictable story. It didn't take very long for over half of those predictions to be shown as false. This book follows an unexpected path, which brings the tension level up and compels the reader to keep reading. Putting this book down is not an easy option, as the pace steadily increases from start to finish. There are several twists and turns that clarify the picture the reader is receiving regarding both Devlin and Ellie, but it is not at all given that this book will have a happy ending. Both of these protagonists have very strong personalities. As such, their internal conflicts are well-defined; however, they both struggle with the power that secrets have over their past, present, and future happiness.

J. Kenner creates a world filled with hidden meanings, secrets, and sacrifices in this book. The reader is pulled into this complex tale of hidden agendas and smokescreens willingly, because there are so many questions that need answers. While this book does not end in a cliffhanger, it is evident that this story does continue. It is unclear if this is part of a duet, or part of a longer series, but the next book in this saga arrives in early 2021. This reader can't wait!
