A solid story line, this one really held my interest right to the surprise ending.
Delightful characters that had depth and were well fleshed out.
My only warning is: don't read if you're hungry. Amazing descriptions of food rounded out this scrumptious book.

Knit of the Living Dead by Peggy Earhart, sixth in the Knit & Nibble series, opens at the Arborville bonfire celebrating Halloween. Everyone, have gone all out with their costumes, is enjoying the festivities when a scream pierces the night. Little Bo Peep has been murdered but is it a case of mistaken identity? Then a second murder occurs and the gang is off to solve the case.

I found this to be a solid enough mystery and yet failed to feel engaged with the characters. For me there was a missing level of depth in the development of the characters. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy and all opinions are my own.

This is such a great series and I really enjoyed this book too! I love cozies set around Halloween.

As always, one of my favorite parts of this series are the characters - I love the friendships and the knitters. The book continues to have that small town feel that you can imagine based on the descriptions.

The mystery starts when Pamela and Bettina find a dead body. There are several possibly suspects and red herrings and I didn’t guess the whodunit until just before the reveal.

I received an arc of this book from netgalley for an honest review.
So first thing I absolutely Love this cover, and at the end it has a pattern / instructions for a knitting project and some receipes that were in the story.
I didn't realize that this book was part of a series, but I had no trouble following along with the characters and what was going on.
This story takes place around Halloween and everything was described very well with lots of detailing.
I really enjoyed the characters and the fact that they have a knitting club. I especially loved I think it was Harold who joined the club to help with his blood pressure as he is a lawyer and needs some relaxing time. He was very exact in his timing of things, like at 8 o'clock its time for food and tea.
I also had no idea who the killer was going to be until it was revealed. The people they questioned were all great as well, at one point they question a lady that has a llama farm. She wanted to sell them for bodyguarding sheep, but I guess thats a big market in New Jersey so she didn't get alot of buisness. She ended up going to visit Bettina and bringing an adorable llama, and she was a hoot.
This was a very good book, and I would definitley read more by this author, and from this series.

I enjoyed this book. It's fast paced and the characters are great. I really like how they interact and investigate. This was a interesting story and I didn't guess who the bad guy was. The reveal was interesting in how they came to the conclusion about who the murderer was. #KnitoftheLivingDead #NetGalley

This is book six in Knit & Nibble Mystery I love anything Halloween so I couldn't wait to read this book.

Pamela and Bettina are in for a shocking Halloween when Little Bo Peep winds up dead on Halloween, with yarn at the scene, when a couple tells that they where suppose to go in matching outfits of Little Bo Peep and the Sheep, They got in to a fight and her friend went in the Little Bo Peep costume. It looks like Mary was the intended target. Later she is found dead. Since the police are having a difficult time, Pamela and Bettina start investigating and putting clues together to help catch a killer.

A fun read with lots of twist and turns to keep you guessing. A great addition to her books in this series I can't wait for the next one.

A hairdresser is killed at the town Halloween bonfire in the park. Pamela and Bettina hear a scream, and a distressed young girl leads them to the body. Nell arrives and seeing the costume tells them it is Mary Lyons who was wearing that Little Bo Peep costume. However, they find out later that it wasn't Mary. They decide that the killer was looking for Mary, and they should warn her. Mary laughs at the idea, but Mary is later found dead in her yard.

This time, Nell helps Pamela and Bettina do their snooping. They find out about two people who are upset with Mary's blog with critical reviews of someone's knitting patterns and not advising their llama yarn. Then, there is yet another death in the small peaceful town of Arborville! Fortunately the police have Bettina to tell them who is guilty!

Newest Adventure details:

Where: Arborville, New Jersey

Who: Pamela and the Knit and Nibble gang

This was my first visit to Arborville, and there couldn’t have been a more fun time to go then Halloween. Pamela is really nice, and I was really excited for the festivities. Things were going well...I met Bettina...she is great. Not long after we arrived things took a turn for the grizzlier side of Halloween when a young girl was screaming and reporting a dead body...pointing to the trees just at the edge of the park. We went to check it out, and lo and behold there is a dead body...little bo peep. Well it seems like nowadays nursery rhymes and fairy tales are all being retold…. so, I guess little bo peep is now a horror story. They quickly rounded everyone up and planted us in the library. That is where I got to meet some other faces like Nell, Harold, and Wilfred. The murder victim is wool blogger and Nell’s neighbor Mary Lyons...or so we all thought. Until the next day when we found out that it wasn’t Mary Lyons. She brought us up to speed that every year her and her husband do a couple's costume...he was supposed to go as little bo peep and Mary was going as the sheep. After a fight with her husband her friend Dawn was dressed as bo peep...and the victim. We tried to talk with Mary and warn her that...she was more than likely the target, and to be careful...but most of what I heard was right about Mary...she wasn’t very nice. She didn’t think any of what we had to say was legit, and ultimately, she did fall victim. Pamela, Bettina, and I were determined to sort this whole thing out…

My thoughts:

I really loved this book!! If I had to describe it in one word it would be...COZY! This had all the elements I enjoy in a cozy series. I loved the characters ( I enjoyed that they were older), the small town, community celebration, nibbles, and knitting. The mystery had more tangles...than a ball of yarn. It kept me guessing till the end. The cover is adorable...I just liked everything about it! The only thing I might add is a little more quirkiness to the characters. I can’t believe I haven’t read any of the other books in this series but rest assured...I will be!

Love Ms Ehrhart's cozy mysteries. I recently became hooked and so glad I did. Thank you for the opportunity to read #6 and can't wait for the next and so on. A solid 4 star

Halloween costumes, mistaken idenities, yarn used as a weapon, mystery and murder all combine to give Pamela and Bettina their next opportunity to be sleuths, in their picturesque town of Arborville.

I enjoyed the latest adventure! So many things to love about this book - a well-written mystery and characters, the easy friendship between Peggy and Bettina, beautiful descriptions of Autumn in Arborville, the camaraderie of the Knit and Nibble group and the delicious food (I always snack when reading this series!) all make for a culinary/knitting mystery series that keeps me reading!

The mystery had several "red herrings" and I didn't guess "whodunit" until the end of the book. When I sit down to read this series, I feel like I'm visiting with "old friends" and I always have a great time!

I received an ARC from NetGalley. The opinions expressed are my own.

The six book in the series and it is still fantastic. Probably even better than the last. This one takes place around Halloween, so that is a new setting. The author's writing style is fabulous and the book is so comfortable and easy to read. I love the main characters who behave like regular folks, not crazy and not boring. Everything is just right in this series. It is one of my favorite cozy mystery series (I read a lot from that genre). Can hardly wait for the next in the series. I think the story line with the neighbor will be back and maybe the main character will give him a chance (and he'll become available). But, even if that doesn't unfold, I know the mystery will be great and following the main character will be enjoyable.

Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of KNIT OF THE LIVING DEAD (Book 6 of the Knit & Nibble Mysteries) by Peggy Ehrhart in exchange for an honest review. When the town of Arborville gathers for a Halloween celebration, the treats are upstaged by a nasty trick. A nursery rhyme character crosses genres to become the victim in a horror tale. Since the victim was a neighbor of a Knit & Nibbler, since the killer signed his work with thick strands of yarn, and since the police detective is exhibiting his usual incompetence, Pamela and Bettina embark on another investigation. They soon learn the victim was more of a firebreathing reptile than fairy tale princess. Can Pamela and Bettina find out who slayed the dragon without also becoming fodder for the killer's crusade?

I liked this book and enjoy the series. I recommend this book to fans of the series. I recommend the series to fans of Peggy Erhart and to fans of cozy mysteries featuring murder, small towns, special events, social groups, knitting, writers, mature heroes, and cats.

Murder in Chapter 1, no background, no character building, no atmospheric details just wham bam murder. Always a no no for me

A big thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Press for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is a cozy mystery and part of a series. I was unclear about what the characters did for a living and the setting, as this was my first time reading this series. They acted.like they were in the UK, but it was set in New York. I found that odd. I enjoyed it but wasn't in love with the characters or storyline. I found it just ok. I am sure many will enjoy. 3 stars

The 6th installment in the Knit and Nibble series. I love books that are the holidays and Halloween is a perfect holiday for a mystery. At the towns Halloween parade Pamela and Bettina hear a scream and Little Bo Peep is found dead and it turns out another person all together had posted she was going as Bo Peep. Was she the intended victim? As it turns out she is later found dead and the knitting club ladies investigate to catch a killer. This is a good solid mystery and the story just keeps you engaged and making you want to stay up all night to finish it! Another great addition to this series.

cozy-mystery, family-dynamics, friendship, amateur-sleuth, murder-investigation

It's a Halloween costume celebration in the town but Bo Peep winds up murdered. Not the woman who posted on her blog that she would be so costumed, but another one entirely. Distressing, but the first one winds up murdered several days later! Thus, the four friends of the knitting club feel obliged to sleuth because it is clear that the local police don't comprehend certain things and don't seem interested in their value. Good plot, relatable and lively characters, and everyone using their wedding china for everyday meals. While I like the earlier books in the series, it is not necessary to have read them first in order to enjoy this one.
I requested and received a free ebook copy from Kensington Books via NetGalley. Thank you!

It was nice to see Pamela finally come to terms with her feelings for her next door neighbor. With every book I wish more and more that I could visit this fictional town.

As I've read a few of the other books in the series, it was fun returning to the Knit and Nibble group and the characters. The plot and storyline was well crafted and engaging and I loved the knitting pattern and recipes in the back. It's a fun book to read for Halloween.
