Lee and Aunt Ibby are at it again when there is yet another murder, this time mimicking an infamous historical murder that took place in Salem long ago (and possibly inspired the board game Clue, which itself plays a large role in the book.)
Another fun paranormal mystery with lots of twists and turns, and some romance. as well.

Another unnecessary example of cut and paste writing that panders to the "cool trend" of the cozy genre. I am over the whole occult mystery which is more about the vacuous characters than a well constructed story.

To start with, I've never even heard about this series but I love this offering and want to read the earlier books for fun and not because they seem vital to enjoying this one. Lee has an interesting past, intriguing friends, and a nose for more than just news. At the request of two of said friends (retired homicide cops who are identical twins) she asks for sleuthing help from some savvy seniors who know how to find out things that law enforcement can't. Seems that there has been a perplexing murder that closely mimics a real historical one from the area and the chief suspect is nephew to the men who asked for assistance. Excellent cozy with some really fun touches. Loved it!
I requested and received a free ebook copy from Kensington Books via NetGalley. Thank you!

I enjoy this series set in Salem, Mass. I enjoy the characters especially Aunt Ibby. The mystery keeps me entertained and guessing. Lee (the MC) brings in help as needed to solve the mystery.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Lee sets out to solve a mystery involving the murder of a local professor with the help of her cat, and her aunt and her friends. The murder resembles a 100 year old murder to a T- and frames a nephew of Lee's friends to boot. This book will keep you guessing until the end! Great read.

I really love Carol Perry’s Witch City mystery series. I especially like the changes each book brings to Lee Barrett’s employment. She’s been a weather girl, TV psychic, TV reporter and media instructor. While Lee and her family, friends, boyfriend and amazing cat show up in each book, new characters and venues are introduced in each book. The series stays new, fresh and interesting. While each book stands alone, readers might want to read the books in order to enjoy Lee and her friends as they develop.

I really love the cozy mystery and so do the patrons at my Library. I was happy to find a new series to delight our readers. I have gone back and started reading the entire series. Very entertaining.

Always happy to visit Salem in this series and this is a great addition taking me right back there again. . A teacher is accused of murder and of course Lee gets involved to solve it. I really liked seeing more of the cat's involvement in this one that previous books.

I have loved all the books in Carol Perry's Witch City mystery series and Murder, Take Two was a great addition. Lee Barrett is back with all the familiar cast of characters, her boyfriend detective Pete Mondello, her Aunt LIbby, her bff River, old friends from WICH_TV and the Tabby and of course O'Ryan. the mystery begins after a professer is murdered in Salem in a copy cat of a famous crime. Lee is asked by her former students and ex-cops twins Roger and Ray Temple to help clear the name of their nephew who is the prime suspect. She gathers up the troops to help her find out who the killer is and with the help of her paranormal scrying abilities the truth comes out.
I love the mystical aspects and tarot use in this series and I love the relationships Carol Perry has created, they really are the heart of the series. The mystery itself was a bit simple this time and I did figure out the who dunnint ahead of time. Yet, I still breezed through the book and it was an enjoyable read.

As someone who has read many "cozy" mysteries with arm chair amateur sleuths, CJPs books are a fave. Finally, an author gave someone a plausible reason to be snooping around rather than having a person who just seemingly stumbles on multiple deaths in their quaint little towns.

The latest installment hits the cozy mystery spot and each book makes me want to go visit Salem, MA as though I would actually find the cast of characters there. Well worth picking up!

Just when you think a series cannot get any better, the author gives the reader a gem like this! A copycat killing, a mystery that is almost impossible to solve, with a touch of the magic that makes this series so special. What is so wonderful about this story, and series for that matter, is how real and genuine the author makes it. The reader never feels that it is all just a bunch of hocus pocus.

This book is a fun read but overly descriptive of non essentials it felt like a mix of Nancy drew mixed with Agatha Christie.
It's a pleasant read, perfect for taking to the beach.

Not the first book in the series (it's actually #10!) but it reads perfectly well as a stand alone. This fun series takes place in Salem, Massachusetts, and incorporates a little bit of the paranormal with it's witchy history. The characters are both likable and relatable and the mystery is a good one. If you get the chance to read some of the earlier titles in this series, I definitely recommend it, but there's no reason why you can't start with this one. Can't wait for the next one.

This is the continuation of a wonderful series with paranormal mysteries. The characters are well-developed and the mystery challenging. I would recommend reading this series from the first one as the characters grow and it gives you an insight into them. I received an e-book from NetGalley in return for an unbiased review.

I stayed up late last night to finish Murder Take Two, the tenth book in the series, by Carol J. Perry. This Witch City Mystery is a favorite series of mine and I was so excited to get to read read and ARC on Net Galley. It is the main character Lee whom I felt such a connection to from page one book one. I never felt as connected to a character as I did her, I loved her back story and her interests, her aunt and her cat. The setting of Salem is very well and realistically incorporated, from the true sights around Salem Massachusetts to the fictional Tabby school, I loved every second of this book. Lee is an investigative reporter, and former instructor at the Tabby, she lives with her Aunt and drives an amazing red corvette. She was Orphaned young, widowed young and has an amazing resilience that is needed in all great cozy mysteries, but there is more to her than just her instincts to solve crime and bounce back from whatever life throws at her. She is generally just a happy person, clearly someone who was blessed with a keen sense of who she is despite what situations she finds herself in.
What I loved about this mystery is the way that the author incorporated the history and mystery of the most beloved game of clue, a true life horrific mystery and the almost perfect impossible to solve crime. I struggled with having to put this book down. I love this series so much. A great read and I can not wait for the next one.

Reading this story is like visiting old friends. The characters are great even the minor ones consistently show up. It's an interesting mystery as it parallels one that happened a hundred of years ago. This time Lee is joined in investigating by her aunt and some friends. Although the reveal of the murder takes place through one of lee's visions the reveal that follows is exciting and interestingly again parallels the previous murder. #MurderTakeTwo #NetGalley

This is the 10th installment in the Witch city mystery series. Lee Barrett is a reporter for a local reporter and investigator. A local professor is killed in a manner similar to a centuries old murder and another professor Cody is the prime suspect. Family friends approach Lee and her and Aunt Ibby to investigate and find the real killer. Lee has good friends and her cat O'Ryan who is always looking out for her as well as her detective boyfriend. This was a good mystery and although I have not read all the books in this series you can still follow this and enjoy it. I love the location and the history of Salem and how it is incorporated into the story. Good addition to this series and looking forward to more in the future.

Another great addition to this series with an engrossing plot and a solid mystery that kept me guessing.
It was great to meet again Lee and the cast of characters, old and new, and see the evolution int their life.
The paranormal element is kept at a minimum and it's a great device in helping the reader to guess the culprit without giving out too much.
I loved the well crafted plot, the solid mystery and the setting.
I can't wait to read the next instalment.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to Kensington Books and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

I always enjoy Witch City Mysteries. It’s like coming home to old friends. In this installment, a murder of a local professor seems to echo a murder in Salem’s past. The primary suspect is the nephew of family friends. Lee covers the murder for WICH-TV and does some sleuthing on the side with clever Aunt Ibby. To me, this book was a little more slow moving than the others in the series, but enjoyable nonetheless. Reading books by Carol J. Perry is always fun!
