Centuries ago, the first seeds of evil took root in the pastoral farmlands of Ember Hollow. Tonight, the sins of the past bear their unholy fruits—and the souls of the living are ripe for the plucking . . .

When I started reading this book, I did not know it was part of a series, lol my bad. I didnt look up the other stories before starting it, but I still loved it!

The book gives you the hebegebes! And I will admit, I slept with my light on the night I finished this one! Great horror story with a creep factor of 100! I would suggest reading the other two books in this series before reading this one. But over all a great spooky story!

Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this book. I have read all the books in this series (I think) and unfortunately this was not the best one. I found the flicking back and forth through the two different times left me a bit flat. I am not sure there can be anymore in this series but if there is I would still read it. If you have read the others you should still read this one.

Fabulous third entry in the Ember Hollow series or the Haunted Hollow Chronicles, whichever name you prefer. The first 2 are Red Harvest and Grim Harvest. Do yourself a favor and read them in order for the fully immersed experience as a reader. So many things going on in this final novel of the trilogy that do not want to mention for fear of ruining the journey for you. Suffice it to say, familiar characters and action await all readers. I'm buying physical copies for my sons to read. Highly recommended.

>Patrick Greene certainly knows how to set a scene! You introduced to each of a our characters in what would initially appear to be a pretty mundane way, only to have it turned on its side. For example, to women traveling in a car going through the town talking...pretty normal. But then they have to pull over so that the older of the two can projectile vomit evil black goo. Or two men hunting....but then that turns into them hunting something supernatural. It really just set the tone of the book because just when you think you know something, BAM, it's something else. Another tool that Greene used expertly was jumping from present time to the past. We got to see the bloody origins of this town and why evil was so prevalent there.

I loved the creepy feeling that the book provided. I could absolutely imagine it becoming a movie or mini series. I found myself hoping that Maisie (a young witch) would figure out that Violina was not a good guy. I was holding my breath that Pedro wouldn't become a mindless killer. I also hoped that when everything was said and done, that Ysabella would not have to sacrifice herself to save the town. So, if I was so invested in these characters why did it only get 4 stars instead of 5? It was the pumpkin goblins. The pumpkin goblins were pretty creepy, but the whole vomiting pumpkin goblins? They were throwing up in order to create more goblins. This just kind of struck me funny. And that entire sequence with these goblins just hit a little differently than the rest of the book. I mean you had slit throats, blood being drained from bodies, mind control.....and then you had vomiting pumpkins LOL. Yeah it seemed a little funny to me, but hey it lightened the mood at least. Overall, this book was a nice spooky read and I would recommend it to anyone looking for something to add to their spooky reads list!

Ember Hollow is an almost abandoned city, the few remaining locals are bound to save the city from the mysterious that terrorize the city in this time of the year
Demon harvest is the 3rd book in the series and it can be read as a stand-alone. The story was spooky with a Halloween-ish atmosphere and enough creepy monsters to keep you entertained.
In all, it was a fun and enjoyable read, not extremely scary, but got that spooky factor.
I recommended it to horror fans, or to anyone who wants to get into the mood before Halloween.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Kensington Books for my review copy

Ember Hollow was known for the pumpkins it grew. The pumpkins made the town famous. However when the town became known for madness nd murder, the tourists stopped coming. Most of the locals left too. Only a few people are left in Ember Hollow. Why did they stay? Why are pumpkins still being grown? No one is buying them. Thre are witches, a werewolf and evil. There are also “innocent” locals still living there. Will the town survive?

I don’t want to give away too much of this excellent creepy horror novel. It’s a fascinating and different type of horror. I was fascinated as I followed the three teenagers trying to save he town. It’s a story that I won’t forget. It would be a perfect read for Halloween!

My thanks to Kensington books, Netgalley and especially Patrick C. Greene.
I read this book a few months ago. I was annoyed to see that my review is past date. I thought it was in October!
I, if course enjoyed the heck outta this book!
Greene is weird and funky.
This is a place that I would avoid. Not just because of the Harvest, but just because Trump seems to love the Carolinas! Something fishy there!

This reminded me of the paperbacks from hell from the 80s and 90s, which are absolutely my favorites. I'll keep a lookout for more horror from this author. Great work!

When I read the synopsis to this book, there was no hesitation on my part to hit that request button on Netgalley. Patrick C. Greene's novel seemed exactly like the spooky kind of horror movies that come out around Halloween time and do the perfect job of scaring the ever-living crap out of a person. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it was the third book to a series, but I enjoyed the novel nonetheless and I am excited to have two more of Greene's novels to look forward to!

Greene's synopsis really drew my attention. Who doesn't want to read a story about a town known for madness and murder that turned away locals and scared off the tourists? Not to mention the wild and highly unsuspected characters who've taken it upon themselves to save their town from another grizzly Halloween horror, such as a death-rock band, a minister who's questioning his faith, a Sherriff who may be turning into something less than human, and an orphaned sister of a mass-murderer.

Despite it being the third book I mistakenly started with, "Demon Harvest" was easy to follow and the humourous, spunky characters had me eager to see what kinds of crazy shenanigans they were going to be involved in when they attempted to save their town from another gruesome, bloody Halloween horror. It was interesting to see the mental and physical struggles these characters had to undergo during the story. Not only were they trying to fight off this evil that has reigned terror and murder on their town, but these characters grapple with their own personal problems that make them even more likable and relatable.

The storyline itself was immensely fascinating and imaginative, drawing me into this strange and murderous Halloween tradition of Ember Hollow. Only those with the darkest of minds can create monsters and creatures that can cause distress and terror in readers, something Greene clearly knows how to do. For those wanting a spooky, gripping, and gory Halloween read, "Demon Harvest" is the book to look for on September 04, 2020. This isn't a Halloween Horror to miss out on!

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Kensington Books for providing me with the opportunity to read this novel in exchange for an honest review.
