A Halloween novella perfect for cozy mystery fans!

This is the perfect book for Halloween, so if you enjoy cozies for the holidays I certainly recommend picking up this one! While I wish I knew this was part of a greater series (this is the third book) I still enjoyed it without reading the others. I will be going back though as these characters have really intrigued me!

I enjoyed the quick pace of this novella, and the nasty run-ins with a clown and a mobster are spooky and entertaining and lead to a smashing ending! Great story for All Hallow’s Eve!

Protagonist, Kelly Quinn inherited a consignment shop and a cat from her Granny Rose. Eager to promote her business, Kelly talks her best friend, Liz, into agreeing to do a photo shoot in a cemetery—of all places! Luck has Kelly’s back, however; when she finds a missing ShihTzu named Billy, and returns him to his wealthy owner expecting to receive a nice $5,000 reward. I won’t give away what happens next, but the Mystery is great! I highly recommend the Resale Boutique series.

I honestly reviewed a digital arc provided by NetGalley and Kensington Lyrical Publishing. Thank you.

This is a cozy mystery involving inheritance, dogs, money, deception and vintage clothing. It was well written and had a solid plot. I enjoyed this book very much. The main character Kelly just keeps tripping over trouble. She doesn't seek it out, trouble finds her. It was an enjoyably read from an author that was new to me. I look forward to her next book.

I have voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this title given to me via NetGalley. Wow what can I say about this title it was just an awesome read. This book was just something so wonderfully different I’ve never quite read anything like this. You should read to find out you won’t be disappointed. I’m definitely going to read more by this author.

Short and sweet cozy! I haven't read this author before but I enjoyed this one so I will be going back to check out the others in the series. Big city girl Kelly has moved back to her hometown of Lucky Cove to take over her grandmother's consignment shop. Fashion is Kelly's life. Kelly is on location for a photo shoot when she finds a missing dog. That discovery leads her to another one...a dead body! It wouldn't be a cozy if our protagonist wasn't out trying to solve the murder mystery herself. I especially love the Halloween setting for this book. It's just starting to get into summertime temperatures here and nothing says fall weather like a Halloween book.

This is a very fast read with an ok mystery to solve. Everyone else seems to love this series, but I can’t seem to make a connection with any of the characters.
Unfortunately, I will be passing on this series moving forward.

Loved this cover!!!!
I love cozy mysteries and I am a “fashionistas wannabe” so this definitely got my attention!
It was cute and I did enjoy it. But have to admit descriptions of Kelly’s outfits… actually the lack of descriptions …. kind a made me laugh!!!! Such as Quote~ “Skinny jeans and a bulky navy knit sweater”. WHAT? Perhaps “Driftwood blue denim skinny jeans with a deep navy off the shoulder bulk knit sweater and Black Dr. Martins Ankle Boots”?
Then…. Quote “Dressed in her cozy, orange-colored cable sweater and velour leggings”. ..
…Oh please!!!! How about?
“Vibrant sunset orange cable knit sweater with deep midnight purple legging and over- the- knee- high heel boots?”

Okay… I am sure most of you are okay with the lack of detailed description.
And yes….. I am sure cozy readers will enjoy this short story and want more!!!

Want to thank NetGalley and Kensington Books for this early release granted to me in exchange for an honest professional review. Publishing Release Date scheduled for September 15, 2020

After finding a lost dog in an abandoned cemetery, Kelly Quinn discovers the dog’s owner’s dead body in a local farmhouse. Kelly soon finds herself swept up in the mystery surrounding the reason why socialite Constance Lane was hanging out at the dilapidated farmhouse and who might have killed her. The deeper Kelly digs into Constance’s past, the closer she comes to discovering a secret that someone else wants to keep hidden. With the killer on her tail, Kelly needs to discover his or her identity before she winds up the next victim.

WHAT NOT TO WEAR TO A GRAVEYARD is a fun, quick read. Kelly and the rest of the characters are great, the setting is unique, and—thanks to a number of possible suspects—the novel will keep you guessing until the end.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a cozy mystery set in a small town. The main character, Kelly, has returned home to run her granny's resale shop.

During her efforts to revitalize the shop into a boutique, Kelly stumbles on the body of a town celebrity.

Instead of allowing the police to manage the gruesome discovery, Kelly's out of bounds curiosity takes her closer to her own death.

I recommend this book and will be reading the next installment in the series.

What Not to Wear to a Graveyard by Debra Sennefelder, published from Kensington Books, is book three in her Resale Boutique Mystery Series.
Every book can easily be read as a stand-alone.
The previous books are Murder Wears a Little Black Dress and Silenced in Sequins.
WNtWtaG is a mystery fiction, well written and gave me all the feels.
Meet Kelly Quinn. She's back in her small town to start over. She's about to re-open her nana's consignment shop. The Blogger and influencer is in for the ride of her life.
And there's Gabe, the knight in shining armour just in time.
WNtWtaG is a beautiful read that kept me in suspense from start til the end, a story full of twists and turns with great characters.
4 beautiful stars.

Longer than a short story yet shorter than a novella this fun little read is perfect. There's the mystery of the missing dog, then the mystery of the murdered high profile woman, and then there's the mystery of who is terrorizing the boutique owner/sleuth. Good friends from the past are both helpful and daunting. A nice read!
I requested and received a free ebook copy from Kensington Books via NetGalley.

What Not To Wear To A Graveyard by Debra Sennefelder a five-star read that will put you on the right path. This is number three in the Resale Boutique Mystery series but I have read it as stand-alone as it encapsulated the mystery and wrapped it up nicely, just leaving me with questions that I am sure will be resolved in the next story, and I most definitely will be picking that up and likely the first two as well. Kelly Quinn is a great character and one that intrigues you and make you want to jump at your own shadow. Throw in a cue Billy Lane and you have a winner.

Mysteries abound in What not to Wear to a Graveyard. A pampered pooch is missing and later shows up in a spooky cemetery. The wealthy owner is found stabbed to death in a farmhouse and a missing, mysterious tell-all manuscript threatens to expose people who’d rather remain in the shadows. Throw in a dash of Halloween fun and a handful of beautiful autumn descriptions and you’ve got a wonderful cozy by Debra Sennefelder that will keep you turning the pages!

I loved this! It was a quick read and it was attention grabbing. Kelly was doing her thing and working at her store when she went to check out a cemetery for a photo shoot for her consignment store when she found Billy a lost dog when she went to take him back to his owner Constance. Which she was greeted by the house keeper and Kelly left her information for Constance so she could receive the reward for finding Billy. When she returns to her store she receives a key to a farm house to check out some items for her consignment shop. She does find some great clothing items when she wonders into the kitchen she finds Constance Lane dead with a knife in her chest. She calls the police and decides to do some detective work and finds trouble as she collects more information. This is a great cozy mystery it's cute and a quick read! I definitely recommend it!

The 3rd in a series that I have not read. Wasn’t lost, but as it is a novella it is short on background details. When Kelly finds a lost dog in a cemetery she is hoping to get a reward. Instead she finds the rich dog owner dead with a big old knife in her back. When the cops come, here is where past relationships would have been nice to explain. Just saying it would help. Asking too many questions gets her threatened by a creepy clown. It is Halloween after all. Would recommend but suggest you read the others first.

When Kelly stumbles upon a missing dog in the cemetery, she realizes it’s the missing dog that has a reward offered for his return. Counting on how she would use the money to remodel her resale boutique, Kelly didn’t count on also stumbling upon the owner’s body. Now Kelly is out the reward money and looking for a killer who isn’t afraid of silencing her for good.

I adore in between book novellas and this one is perfect for Halloween! A fun hold me over in a fashionable series.

"So why didn't she listen?" the protagonist asks herself at one point during this fun, short, but frustrating cozy mystery, right before she ignores her inner warning voice and throws herself - again - into harm's way. Your enjoyment of this book may depend on your willingness to forgive the main character for impulsive meddling and acts of poor judgment.

If you can transcend the implausibility of the protagonist's actions, there is much to enjoy in this short read. While setting up a Halloween photoshoot for her consignment boutique, Kelly finds a wealthy woman's lost dog wandering in a cemetery. She soon afterward stumbles over the woman's dead body while collecting clothes for the shop. Kelly's relationships with her cat, employee, friends, and relatives in town are well-sketched with concise dialogue. The premise of the retail shop is clever, as vintage shopping may appeal to many readers.

The plot did not really gel for me, and readers attracted by the consignment boutique setting may wish for a more detailed look at the clothes.

Third in the series; you need not have read the first two.

Many thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
