Ugh this was so beyond disappointing. I LOVED the first book, but this was just not funny or snarky or cute in any way. I’m so bummed about it. Truly. But just read the first one and skip this mess.

Picking up where The Tourist Attraction left off, Mistletoe and Mr. Right focuses on the life of Lana Montgomery - billionaire investor who has big plans for Moose Springs. Except Lana is everything Moose Springs hates: rich, an outsider, a socialite, not from Alaska, and most importantly, a tourist. Oh basically everyone in the town hates Lana because she isn't one of them. Everyone except Rick Harding, the quiet and brooding owner of the pool hall.

I am normally a sucker for Christmas romances. Hallmark Christmas Movie is my favorite cinema genre. But I just couldn't get into this book. Lana really grated on me...every time she called someone "dearest" I literally cringed. I really liked Rick though. The ending felt really rushed too, and I don't think Rick got the ending he deserved. I will probably read the next book in the series just to make sure Rick is ok!

And I am sorry but the idea that an entire town hates tourists when they are literally keeping the town afloat is just....unrealistic to me. But maybe I am a capitalist robot. Also the whole Christmas moose plot was just...strange. I did not enjoy it. However, I loved the trip to Chicago for *spoilery reasons.* I wish we could have spent more time there because seeing Lana in her "element" really brought out her character and made me dislike her less. Alas, that part was the ending and, as I mentioned before, was really rushed through.

Anyway, I think people who loved The Tourist Attraction will enjoy this as well. But for me it ultimately fell a little flat.

Thanks to Netgalley, Sarah Morgengthaler, and Sourcebooks Casablance for the eARC.

This book was an absolutely fantastic follow up to the first book in Sarah Morgenthaler’s Moose Springs, Alaska series, The Tourist Attraction. I loved hearing Lana and Ricky’s story. It was swoon worthy just as the first book was. My absolute favorite aspect of this book was the overall setting. Every detail paints the perfect picture. I will absolutely be recommending this book to everyone who is looking for a sweet romance. I look forward to reading more from this series!

Mistletoe and Mr. Right was a perfect second in this series. Lana and Rick are two very different characters that bring out the best in each other. This series (and M&MR especially) always leave me itching for a trip to Alaska. There are mysterious moose, town angst, growls teens, and juicy drama to keep you turning the pages.
M&MR was sweet, sad and laugh out loud funny.

I was getting very lucky to get an early copy of Mistletoe and Mr. Right thanks to NetGalley and SourceBooks Casablanca. This book is the second in a series, so if you haven't read The Tourist Attraction I recommend starting with that one first. In book one, you'll fall in love with Moose Springs, Alaska and the all of people who make their home there.

Mistletoe and Mr. Right focuses on Lana (a wealthy businesswoman who wants to save Moose Springs but is seen as an outsider) and Rick (the love weary, local business owner who business is barely surviving). I really enjoyed their slow to get going romance and the funny things that happened to them along the way! However, Lana was a bit too much in spots and when she called people "dearest" it didn't seem to fit. I thought it made her sounds snobby and condescending. I enjoyed watching Lana and Rick both grow as characters to where they were comfortable with their own feelings and choices.

I absolutely loved Graham and Zoey's appearances in this book. They are just adorable! Many other Moose Spring favorites make an appearance in this book too and that just makes Mistletoe and Mr. Right all the better.

I'm definitely hooked on this series and can't wait to read book 3. I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves romantic comedies! I know you won't be disappointed!!

Mistletoe and Mr. Right was a great sequel to The Tourist Attraction. I'm definitely invested in the series and will read all the way through. I enjoyed the book, but felt it was trying a bit too hard in comparison to Zoey and Graham's story. It could be that i don't enjoy stories about excess wealth and two-faced families, but objectively speaking I didn't think the dialogue was as fresh as the first book - although it was still good! The squirrel scene did have me cracking up though!

I understand Lana was living in two worlds, but because of that I felt like she was inauthentic everywhere. I've been in a career that demanded that I act like someone I wasn't happy being and it was awful. It truly sucked the life out of me. I'm so glad I got away from that lifestyle and can be my authentic self everywhere now. I guess I wanted to see Lana do the same thing, and I got a little bored waiting for her to see the light.

Rick was a sweet hero. So selfless and kind. He reminded me sooo much of my husband and I was so smitten! In both books, I've enjoyed the depth that the author gives the male MCs. This book was more "closed-door" than the first and that was nice. It's nice to have a funny romance to be able to share with friends who lean a little more towards a "fade to black" preference.

I'm excited to read the next book in this series! Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks for the free ARC!

This book is one the the funniest and most heartfelt, that I’ve read in a long time. It starts with a giant penis carved out of snow on a mountainside and ends with a rampaging moose with a phobia of Christmas decorations. Along the way are a hedgehog in a Christmas jumper, a first date from hell in B&B overrun with mutant squirrels and some seriously toe-curling romance. The humour is dry, very tongue in cheek and utterly delightful. It is the ultimate feel good Christmas rom com that just begs to be made into a film, I absolutely adored it and will be rereading it for many Christmases to come!

Have you ever felt instant love for a book or a series as soon as you’ve read the first page? It’s happened a couple of times for me and recently it has been Sarah Morgenthaler’s The Tourist Attraction and of course her Moose Springs, Alaska series. It was instant love for Grumpy Graham and fearless Zoey and Ulysses the moose and of course Moose Springs and all of its quirky residents! This love continues In the second book, Mistletoe and Mr. Right which gives us ever gorgeous Lana Montgomery and silently adoring Rick Harding. These two were first introduced in the previous book with Lana featuring quite a pivotal role for the OTP and eventually for the whole town of Moose Springs. In Mistletoe and Mr. Right we get a fully fleshed out character which is as lovable and complicated as she was implied to be. Of course, Rick has always been at the sidelines but is now pushed to front and center and has turned out to be as adorable and complicated as well. The charm in this book is the way the characters interact and develop their relationship in the context of their very different backgrounds and even personalities and how they manage to navigate thru it all, hits and misses included! Ms. Morganthaler’s writing is so vivid that you just want to visit Moose Springs and become one of those less welcomed tourist of this fictional town that has become a beloved and central character as well. The dialogue is witty, funny and insightful. Lana and Rick’s chemistry is fantastic that slow burn has become the new thing! And yes, there is a renegade moose involve as well. I am so in love with this series and can’t wait for the next one.

When I read The Tourist Attraction, I fell in love. I fell in love with the characters and writing, the description of Alaska, and the wit and humor of the author. I was ready to pack my bags and move to Moose Springs. I was beyond thrilled when I got the second book, but within the first chapter I knew I wasn’t in for the same magical experience I had with the first book.

There was a lot that I didn’t enjoy with this second book. Lana came off as a rich, entitled woman trying to blend in with the local people. Every time she called someone “dearest” it was like nails on a chalkboard. I felt like her heart was in the right place, but the way she was written made it hard to see that. The parts I found endearing were when Lana and Rick were together. It was the only time I really liked Lana because she seemed to let herself be herself. She didn’t have to put on this façade of being a Montgomery. Outside of that relationship I wasn’t a huge fan of her.

Rick, oh Rick. I wanted so badly to fall in love with him, but I felt the way he was written made it hard to. At times he felt more like a young teenager than a grown man. He had sweet moments throughout this story, but I felt it was eclipsed with a lot of insecurity and some emotional immaturity. I know that he was “out of the game” for sometime, but still the clues Lana was giving we’re pretty obvious.

The writing was OK for me. There was something lacking. I missed the magic and beauty of Alaska through the author's descriptions, there was the lack of wit and humor that brought the characters to life and had me laughing out loud. I had a hard time wanting to keep interest in reading the story because the writing felt so mundane and ordinary.

Lana and Rick felt awkward and out of place. I didn’t feel a spark and at times I felt very little chemistry between them. I didn’t understand how they could just flirt with each other, even acknowledge the flirting, but then question each other's interest in one another. Their relationship and buildup to a relationship seemed really slow paced. I kept wanting to shake each character, telling them to step up to the plate. They seemed to have the relationship of high schoolers rather than adults.

I really wanted to love this one because I adored the first book, but for the most part I didn’t enjoy this book. Thank you to NetGalley and SourceBooks Casablanca for this ARC

This was such a fun read to get someone in the holiday spirit. The book uses a lot of comedy and some time keep the reading laughing the whole time. This romance book even had a few twists and turns that I did not expect! If you are not a fan of adult language, this book may not be for you. Based on the language I expected more steamy scenes, but they were PG or PG-13 rated. Overall, this book was such a delight to read. The book could have more Christmas spirit. The majority of the Christmas integration involves around a moose.

Thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca & NetGalley!

Thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca and Netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for my review.

I was so excited to have my wish granted to read Mistletoe and Mr. Right! I immediately started reading it and I'm ready to move to Alaska myself. I absolutely loved The Tourist Attraction and getting to read about Lana made my day. I love that we got the Santa Moose this book (loved the tranquilizer dart bit!) and the squirrel b&b had my laughing so hard! I loved seeing Lana get more local, despite the locals not embracing her.

Our favorite characters from Moose Springs make their appearances, we get more of the Zoey & Graham love story and I can't wait to read book #3 about Easton!

I just can't say enough wonderful things about this book and how much I love Sarah Morgenthaler as an author! Check this out in October and if you haven't read the Tourist Attraction yet, DO IT!
