This is a perfect read for the holiday season!

We first visited Moose Springs in Tourist Attraction, and I was thrilled to come back and see some of my favourite characters. Graham and Zoey, the couple from the first book, are just as adorable as ever, and we get to see firsthand just how smitten they still are with each other.

Sarah Morgenthaler has a very humorous writing style. I think that she might be my favourite rom com writer, along with Lyssa Kay Adams and her Bromance Book Club series. This novel, like Tourist Attraction, had me laughing out loud numerous times. I’m a sucker for hilarious animals, and the first book in the series had me fall in love with Ulysses, the randy moose. This book offers even more on that front. At the risk of spoilers, I won’t say much, other than treating you with the knowledge that Rick owns a sometimes disgruntled hedgehog named Darla (and the fact that she’s named after the Buffy the Vampire Slayer character makes me love this author even more!).

There are plenty of hilarious situations throughout this novel, but the situations aren’t too over-the-top or ridiculous. It’s the way that Sarah writes them–using a sardonic, yet light tone–that gives me the incurable giggles.

For instance, there’s a part early in the book where both Rick and Lana have to walk out to their cars at night after town hall, and they parked side by side. Rick leaves the meeting just after her, and he’s walking behind her. Ordinarily, this wouldn’t seem too odd. But Rick is an awkward character, and the way he comments on the inherent creepiness of him following behind her in the parking lot at night made me literally laugh out loud. This book is chock full of these types of little scenarios that would be boring and fall flat in a less talented writer’s hands.

All this said, the book isn’t without its serious bits. Rick is taking care of a surly teenager whose family tragically died in a car accident years ago. He also divorced his wife a few years ago, and he’s carrying around the baggage that comes along that. Lana is the town pariah (or piranha, as Graham would say) because she’s bringing much-needed tourist business to the area, but the locals don’t appreciate her efforts. She also suffers from a hand tremor that gets worse the more stressed she is. Both Rick and Lana have had an eye on each other for years, but, of course, they never thought their feelings were reciprocated.

This is an incredibly sweet romance that is a perfect follow up to Tourist Attraction, and it provides a much-needed escape to Moose Springs for the holiday season.

When I picked this book I wasn’t aware it was part of a series. This book is easily readable on its own without the background knowledge of the first book.

I loved the setting and characters of this book. It was a great holiday read!

This book is slow and quiet, with a soft and super sweet romance.... and it just wasn't for me. After having really enjoyed The Tourist Attraction, I was expecting to enjoy this book a lot more than I did. Don't get me wrong, I still somewhat enjoyed my experience, but Mistletoe and Mr. Right was missing the fire and angst that I loved so much about the first book.

I think I just didn't connect with the characters as much. I loved Zoey and Graham, and I loved seeing them in this companion novel, but I didn't really grow to love Rick and Lana the way I loved the main couple in the previous installment.

This not a bad book by any means, but it just wasn't what I was hoping for.

Adorable holiday read that's perfect for this time of year. I'm committed to seeing this series through.

It’s time to read some holiday romance theme stories. And I definitely cannot wait to read some new titles such as Mistletoe and Mr. Right.I was really excited to read Mistletoe and Mr. Right especially with that cute book cover illustration. But I was kind of let down a bit. I think that I expect so much from Mistletoe and Mr. Right since I was obsessed with the book cover. Let me explain myself.I love a slow burn romance story like no other but this slow burn was too slow in my opinion. Like it was dragging out way too long than it needed too. I kept stopping because I need to refresh my mind or take a break. I really wanted the plot to speed up a bit. Like I really enjoy the characters. They are really sweet and spunky but the dragging the plot really hurt me. I just could not get into it. I wish I could but I just could not handle that slow burn. I really wanted to.

I really wish an editor had put a stop to the use of "dearest" - nobody calls LITERALLY EVERY PERSON they meet "dearest."

Mistletoe and Mr. Right is a sweet, small town romance set in Alaska.

I really enjoyed this novel. Some parts were a little too slow for me, but overall I found myself getting lost in the story. Rick and Lana are complete opposites with her being the daughter of a billionaire family and he being just a small town guy just trying to get by. That old saying that “opposites attract” is true! They made a great match!

If you’re looking for a heartwarming, sweet, holiday romance then this is the book you should be picking up! I recommend it wholeheartedly.

This book was way. too. long. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it as I love the characters and the town of Moose Springs, but it really lacked in plot. So many parts could have been edited out so the book didn’t drag so much. I also really like Lana and Rick but I just didn’t see much chemistry between them and I felt like their relationship was more friends than lovers.

So fun being back in Moose Springs, Alaska! We have a grumpy hero which I always a sucker for too. I really enjoyed our strong and independent heroine, Lana, and the opposites attract romance we got with her and Rick. Even though Rick was scarred from his divorce, Lana wore on him enough that we got to see the true man he is. It was cute and just the holiday read I needed! 4/5 stars.

What do I have to say about this book.. I wasn't huge fan of book one and I truly am not sure why. It felt YA to me and I wasn't expecting that or in the mood for it, I guess. I was hesitant going into this one because I wasn't sure if I would feel the same or if I'd enjoy it more. To be honest, in the beginning it didn't seem like it was going to work out for me again.

Rich girl Lana Montgomery has unofficially moved into Moose Springs, with plans of her own to turn the town around - and build a giant condo building. What she isn't expecting is to find another reason to keep her in Moose Springs. What will be more important - her heart or her family empire?

Lana bothered me throughout most of the first novel. This one, she redeemed herself as we got to see more of the private side of her. Rick really rubbed me the wrong way in the beginning of this one, until we learned more about him. I was fully invested in their story by the middle of the book. This was cheesy, cute and endearing in the cutest way possible. Can't wait to read the next book!

I laughed so many times at this book. Very funny characters from the sweetest litte town. An everybody looks after everybody vibe. An easy no brainer read right before Christmas!

Unfortunately, I decided to pursue this book after finding the first one to be too cheesy and not to my liking. While this might be the rom-com for some, it was too unrealistic and I found the characters to not be likable. Because of this, I feel that the sequel is probably not for me.

I haven't read the first book which is fine because I feel this one can be read as a standalone.

I didn't enjoy this one very much though. I was all in at the beginning and then I started getting bored. I felt the story was going nowhere and the story never truly progressed since most of the conflict was resolved within a paragraph.

The writing style was a bit odd for me and couldn't get into the flow of it.

Oh and the fact that she calls everyone dearest makes her sound like a 90-year old. I cringed every time she said it.

Suffice to say I won't be reading the first book in this series

Great book, and perfect for this time of year. This is the second in the author's series and it did not disappoint. Charming characters had me reading this book straight through.

This was a fun holiday read that grabbed my attention from the beginning. I will say that I felt it dragged on a little in the middle. But overall a fun book.

10 ⭐️ Mistletoe & Mr Right by @sarahmorgenthaler.author was last week’s buddy read pick. It was everything we needed after reading a very emotional book. This book was full of funny moments that made me laugh out loud. It’s the second book in the series, so I’d recommend you to read Tourist Attraction first. In this book we follow Lana and Rick’s story in the small town of Moose Springs, ALASKA. ❄️ I can’t wait for book 3 and hope there is a book 4 with Ash and Killian’s story! Wink wink 😉 @sourcebookscasa

Thank you so much to Sarah for sending me a signed copy of her book and joining our zoom chat! She is the best! 💜

What I loved ❤️: Sarah truly has a skill for writing really funny scenes. She paints this images in your head and you can totally see it, it’s truly a talent! ❤️ I loved that we were able to see a lot more of the main characters in Tourist Attraction and they were still a very important part to the story. ❤️ I loved both main characters, Lana and Rick. ❤️ I really like Rick’s personality, he is sweet and very shy. ❤️ I loved that there weren’t any miscommunication issues, which is my pet peeve, when people could solve all their issues by just talking 😆 Every time there was an issue, they talked. Wow! Such a breathe of fresh air!

What I liked 👍🏼: It was mostly a clean read. 👍🏼 Sarah has a talent for writing about some key animals in each book, which you end up loving as much a the human characters! 🦔 🐈 🦌 (pretend that’s a moose). 👍🏼 The B&B full of stuffed squirrels. Scene was amazing! These books need to be turned into movies or a series! Please @NETFLIX!

What I didn’t like 👎🏼: There wasn’t pretty much anything I didn’t like. Maybe a bit more PG than PG-13? But I love that everything was behind closed doors 👍🏼

Gems 💎:
About Rick and his nephew always eating cereal for dinner: “They were two bachelor peas in a cereal-eating pod.”
“Money makes people prioritize the wrong things”
“Places don’t belong to us because of money. They belong to us because we love them.” There are so many more gems but I don’t want give any spoilers away.

I enjoyed returning to Moose Springs and reading about familiar characters (and getting glimpses of some of my faves). However, I found this second book in the series harder to get into, the pacing was quite slow and the story seemed to drag at certain points. I also found Lana to be quite confusing. Lana is portrayed quite differently here compared to The Tourist Attraction. She is less confident (and that's totally fine), she also used terms of endearment way too often and came across a lot older than she was, which I found quite distracting and harder to connect with. Rick is sweet, but also has confidence issues so when you pair up two characters with confidence issues, things became repetitive and frustrating and as a result I couldn't get lost in their romance and found the chemistry a little lacking.

I loved that the author continued to explore the impacts of tourism on small towns and the story did pick up in the second half of the book. I was told that in the finished copy, Lana uses terms of endearment less and that edit would definitely have improved my reading experience. I'm still keen on reading more from this author and particularly the next book in the series, it could just be that this particular romance trope isn't my cup of tea!

Another fun and flirty and wintery addition to this series.
I am always a sucker for an Alaskan setting. And this one does the trick well for my romance reading tastes.

Tis the season to be jolly and Mistletoe and Mr. Right was the book that got me there!

Lana Montgomery has a heart of gold, but people seldom see her for anything other than the uber-rich socialite and commercial developer that she is. And in Moose Springs she's pretty much public enemy number one, with the holiday-decoration-destroying Santa Moose a distant second place.

But Rick Harding, local pool hall owner, sees her. And he’s had a huge crush on her for years despite knowing her plans for a condominium developement will cause drastic changes to their small town way of life. Also, she’s not a permanent fixture in town. That shouldn’t really matter though since he’s not looking to get his heart broken for a second time in his life.

Yet that doesn’t stop him from spending as much time with Lana as he can, especially since she seems to enjoy his company as well. And the more time they spend together, the more hilarity and hijinks ensue. Then a Mongomery family emergency has Rick travelling to Chicago with Lana, reminding him why the two of them together won’t work.

I absolutely loved this story just as much as I did The Tourist Attraction (Moose Springs, Alaska #1) - maybe even more. Sarah Morgenthaler’s writing is flawless, filled with effortless humor and lovable characters. Lana’s waters run much deeper than you expect for a woman who grew up with a silver spoon in her mouth. Rick, oh sweet Rick...you just gotta love a guy who’s so nervous about a date he makes himself flashcards to study so he doesn’t mess up and carries his pet hedgehog around in his coat so she stays warm. Each of the residents of Moose Springs are charming and quirky, but lack the ridiculous eccentricities you often get in small town stories. In short, Mistletoe and Mr. Right is storytelling, reading-enjoyment perfection.

My only issue with this book is the happy-for-now ending. No two people deserve a happily ever after filled with love more than Lana and Rick, and I would have liked to see it. But I have hope we’ll get to see more happy times for those two in the next book, Enjoy the View, and I can’t wait to read it!

Sidenote: In order to get a jump on this book (because I have too many holiday stories I'm trying to plow through before Christmas), I started to listen to this one on audiobook - which is something I do on occasion. Usually if I do this I'll read a chapter, listen to one, read, listen, so I can get through the book faster. But not this time! I read and listened to the whole book because the narrator for this book is fantastic. And also the story is just so fun. So really, I didn't save myself any time, but I didn't even care!

Follow up to the author's first in the series The Tourist Attraction and so we meet familiar characters, all citizens of Moose Springs, Alaska. This story features Lana, businesswoman extraordinaire, who has purchased land to build condominiums adjacent to a resort on the nearby mountain. The townsfolk don't like the resort, the tourists it attracts and they don't want Lana's condominiums either. In her attempt to win them over, a relationship is sparked with one of the business owners in town. Can she win over the town and her love? Only time will tell.
