I fell in love with Moose Springs when I read The Tourist Trap so I was super excited to read more of this series. In addition to getting to read more about Zoey and Graham, there is the new and totally swoonworthy couple Lana and Rick.

What I loved about this book:

1. I didn't really like Lana in book one, but I completely changed my tune when I got to read more about her character in book two. At first she comes off a little stuck up and spoiled, but I quickly realized that was all a front to deflect from her loneliness. I love when a character evolves and I loved getting to see Moose Springs realize Lana wasn't the Grinch they all thought she was. Did I mention the giant snow penis? You definitely don't want to miss the laugh out loud moments surrounding Lana and her time in Moose Springs.

2. Rick's story completely broke my heart so I was completely invested him finding his HEA (dude definitely deserves one) so I was glad that him and Lana's love story was completely swoon worthy. As you get to know more about Moose Spring's local bar owner you'll fall a bit more for this charming town that sticks together. Moose Spring will always be one of my favorite series settings.

3. This book is definitely a romcom you want to read this holiday season because it has everything you could ever want. Misunderstood heroine? ✔ Sweet leading man with a tragic past and heart of gold? ✔ A wild moose on the run that likes to destroy all the Christmas decorations? ✔ If you put all of that together plus add a tranquilizer gun, a moody teenager, and family drama you've got the perfect recipe for an enjoyable read.

While this book has a great slow burn romance and quite a few laugh out loud moments, it also has drama and family tragedy. You definitely won't want to miss this book so make sure to add it to your holiday TBR. If you haven't started this series you definitely need to catch up because Easton's book is next!

This was a cute, holiday filled novel set in Alaska as part of the Moose Springs series. I had read the first book, The Tourist Attraction and I would recommend reading that one beforehand, but it is not necessary.

The female protagonist, Lana had been introduced in The Tourist Attraction - personally, I disliked her character in the first novel but I ended up liking her in this one! To be honest I couldn’t even remember if Rick, the male protagonist, was even mentioned in the first novel of the series. I enjoyed being able to see a bit further into the lives of the main characters of the first novel.

I enjoyed how this was holiday themed but not fully overloaded with the holidays as other novels set during this time of year usually are. I liked being able to see the perspective of both Rick and Lana throughout the novel. It was a cute read, filled with spiked eggnog, an anti-holiday Santa Moose, and a beautiful Alaskan setting I now want to go explore.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the gifted e-book.

2.5 Stars. In this follow-up novel to “The Tourist Attraction”, “Mistletoe and Mr. Right” revisits the beloved Moose Springs, Alaska to this time focus on Lana’s story. Tourists are not super fond of Lana Montgomery, a rich transplant looking to make changes to the town. However, one local, Rick Harding, is quite fond of Lana and happy to have her around. A mission to stop the “Santa Moose” from destroying the town may bring the two closer together.

I loved the Alaskan landscape, but this book did not really hit the mark for me. It felt like a slow read, and I did not feel invested in Lana’s and Rick’s relationship. However, I had the same feelings towards the previous novel “The Tourist Attraction”, so I am sure if you enjoyed that book, you will like this one as well!

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for a copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

Mistletoe & Mr. Right is the sequel to Sarah’s first book, Tourist Attraction.  It follows heiress Lana as she tries to save the town and earn their acceptance and respect.  Between her family’s empire and the Moose Springs project, she has zero time for love.  But since when does fate ever care?

This book is an absolutely heart-warming, sweet holiday romance.  It is very Hallmark style with low steam, but Sarah’s writing is so fun it doesn’t bother me at all. I really enjoyed learning more about Lana and her family.  She is a strong powerful business woman who works hard and loves harder.  I think her and Rick are an unlikely but sweet match and their first date had me cracking up!! It wasn’t an easy or smooth sailing romance, but I appreciated their real life problems and struggles to get to their happy ever after.

I did think the book was a tad long and dragged a bit in the middle, but it is filled with humor, friendship, love, and a crazy moose so it’s a winner in my book! It’s out now and perfect for a sweet and funny holiday read!

Thank you @sourcebookscasa and @netgalley for the eARC to read and give an honest review!

Thank you to Netgalley and Sarah Morgenthaler for my copy of Mistletoe & Mr. Right, for an honest review. This is the second book in the series, I did read the 1st, The Tourist Attraction, so these characters were very familiar to me. I loved how we got to know, two new characters, while the main characters from the first story were also featured. Moose Springs, Alaska is the setting and in this town tourists are disliked by all the locals. Tourists tend to bring all the things that Moose Springs isn’t. It isn’t flashy or filled with rich people. Traditions are kept and outsiders barely ever fit in. Lana Montgomery is one of the exceptions. Her family business has brought her to Moose Springs and Lana can’t seem to leave. She falls in love with all the possibilities and peace the town brings her. She has some friends, some enemies and some people who think she can help save the town. In all this she never thought she could find love. Rick Harding is a local who has been in Moose Springs, forever. Times have been tough on him, romantically and financially. These two seemingly polar opposite people, someone how find each other. A Santa Moose, locals, town meetings and the Holidays make this story such a sweet story. This is just the type of Holiday book I like. Easy to read, a good story and characters that are charming. This was a four star read for me. I have recommended it to family and friends and on my #bookstagram page. Also see my review on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. I am sure this book won’t disappoint!

I really enjoyed the first Moose Springs novel. Unfortunately, the pacing of Mistletoe and Mr. Right felt a bit slow, so I stopped reading about a third of the way into this book. I appreciated the humorous moose catching thread, but that was the only highlight for me.

This was a fun cute holiday read. I appreciate the opportunity to read it. Wasn’t really my cup fo tea but I enjoyed it. There’s a lot of loose ends that hopefully will be cleared up in the next book of the series.

3.5 stars rounded up.

There was a lot going on, and not all the loose ends were tied up--although this book seems to be a close continuation of the first book in the series, so maybe the next books will finalize these storylines as well. Rick and Lana were a cute couple, although each may be in need of a little therapy. And there definitely could have been more mystery moose sightings. And bedroom scenes were skipped over, so if you like your romcoms somewhere between PG and PG-13 (couple of coarse words, no steamy scenes), this one's for you.

Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for a digital ARC for the purpose of an unbiased review.

This is the second book in the series that I've read and it fell a little short for me. I love the town, I like the people, I think for this installment the issue was Lana and Rick. First of all, the names Lana and Rick sound like they are 60 years old. Second, I didn't write understand all of the "darlings". We understand Lana is a powerful rich businesswoman but that language is so far off the charts cliche. You dont need cliche to have a sweet interesting romance. Lastly, beyond the physical connection, I failed to see what Lana and Rick would have in common. What would they talk about? Rick lacked substance. He was a nice guy who had been left my his ex wife, but who else was he? I wasn't won over by the hedgehog. There needed to be more to him.
Overall, this is a cute clean romance that I liked but didn't love and probably won't remember.

Things I Liked:
-this story was sooooo cute! (a perfect holiday read)
-the sweet kind of romance depicted
-the humor that pretty much all the characters had made this laugh out loud funny for me in certain parts
-how the story highlighted the importance of good character & morals over big business

Things That Didn't Sit Quite Right With Me:
-it was a slow plot build...which isn't always a negative. But with this one...I was struggling to stay interested at times & I wanted to the story to pick up to keep me going.
-The love interest was a bit immediate...which isn't to say that it can't be, but it sort of felt like the 2 main character ended at a point in their romance that was not realistic to me (very involved)

Overall, I gave this book 3 stars. I think it would be a great read for those who enjoy holiday reads, themes stories, humorous romances, & overall cute reads.

This is the second book in the Moose Springs, Alaska series and the companion to The Tourist Attraction!

It was so nice to be back in Moose Springs! I just love this little town with its crazy moose, hilarious and heartwarming people and that cozy, snowy, cold, Christmas vibes to it. The fact that this one was set around Christmas made it so much more magical!

I didn’t like this one quite as much as the first book in this series but it was still a fun, sweet, enjoyable read. Lana and Rick make an adorable couple! I was super excited to see how their romance came to be.

Unfortunately, it took me a bit longer to really enjoy them together as a couple, especially as I really did not like what happened with them near the end of the novel. I just felt like that wasn’t needed and it could have gone in a different direction without all that unnecessary drama.

I wish we had gotten more out of the town vs Lana thing. We got to see some waves of it but I was hoping to see more of the townspeople accepting her because we never really got to see that. I also wanted more Zoey and Lana moments! Their friendship is one of my favourites.

Overall, this was a fun and heartwarming Christmas story and I do still recommend it! Especially if you love winter and romance!

3/5 ⭐️

This was a delightful Christmas story which takes place in small town Alaska. It was light and funny and was a great escape during this Pandemic.
Many thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

MISTLETOE AND MR. RIGHT is the second book in Sarah Morgenthaler’s “Moose Springs, Alaska” series. Although it’s part of a series, I think MISTLETOE AND MR. RIGHT works as a standalone novel. This, for me, could work as a Hallmark movie – but not quite as saccharine. There are oodles of quirky characters, Christmas small-town flavor, and heartwarming scenes. Lana Montgomery – socialite and businesswoman – and Rick Harding – chill local hero with a heart of gold, have an attraction to each other but it’s the behemoth known as “the Santa Moose” that brings them together.

Lana and Rick are somewhat on opposite ends of the economic spectrum. Lana is from a wealthy entrepreneurial family while Rick is barely eking out a living running the local pool hall. Neither of them run true to stereotypes, which is refreshing. Lana may have a lot of cash, but she also has a lot of heart, is extremely friendly and approachable, as well as grounded. Rick is a total sweetie. His ex-wife left him, and he’s taking care of his – now 20yr old – nephew Diego, and a few miscellaneous odd yet ridiculously cute pets. Lana wants to build a condominium in the town of Moose Springs. The problem is that she needs the approval from the town council, and they are not wild about her or her proposal. In fact, the townsfolk give Lana an artic reception wherever she goes. What the people of Moose Springs don’t understand, is that Lana has fond memories of the town from her youth and wants to help the town and not hurt it. Rick has his own complicated reasons for not liking tourists and wanting development. Despite the main conflict, there isn’t a lot of angst or anger-fueled town mob scenes. It’s more like Lana working hard to change the town’s thinking about her and the development. As she works toward her goal, Rick offers an ear to listen to hear and support. This story is told from alternating perspectives, so the reader gets a better sense of who Lana and Rick really are, and their true feelings for each other. This couple is adorable as they flirt and develop a friendship that turns to more. The sexual tension and chemistry is fab. At times, the scenes between Lana and Rick remind me of the snappy banter typical of a 1940s film.

MISTLETOE AND MR. RIGHT has plenty of heart, quirky characters galore, and a sweet love story. The friendships in MISTLETOE AND MR. RIGHT are strong and played an important role in the story, and the development of the romance. Although this is the first book I’ve read by this author, I look forward to reading her next.

This was a very cute and festive read. I very much enjoyed all getting to know the main group of characters (plus all their cute animals) and laughing along with all the awkward dating moments of the two main characters. Definitely will be checking out the other stories of this series.

I requested this book from Netgalley because this year I really wanted to read some holiday romances during the month of December. The premise of a small town in Alaska with a mysterious moose was just the setting to pull me in and keep me interested. Or at least, that was the hope initially.

This novel follows the perspectives of our two main characters, Rick and Lana. Lana’s family are moguls whose fortune is nearly unimaginable (and she’s set to inherit it all), and ever since she could drive she’s been escaping to this small town in Alaska when she needs to mentally bring herself back down to earth. For Rick this town is his home and livelihood, and while it might not be right for everyone (like his ex-wife) it is right for him.

I’ll be honest, what sold me from the plot was this quirky moose, and the hot shot business woman who was tasked with catching it in an attempt to win the town over. Unfortunately, I don’t think Lana was able to win me over, much less the town. Throughout the story Lana continues to remind us why the people of this small town dislike, distrust, and keep their distance from her. While she has her own heroic, yet fleeting, moments which should bring the reader onto her side, I didn’t find myself the least bit persuaded.

Objectively, I can see that this is just my opinion. The character is set up in such a way that it would be easy for the reader to root for her and come to an understanding about who she is and what she wants in life, but for some reason that just fell flat with me. I do think that there are plenty of readers who will meet Lana and adore her.

What this novel does have going for it is the writing. I was really impressed with the introspective moments with each character, and the attention to details when it came to Lana’s background with her family and her job.

Of course, this is a romance so let’s talk about the relationship. I thought this was well done and did enjoy the cute moments Rick and Lana shared, as well as their real and relevant (to them) struggles. This novel ran its course at a low sizzle, and used a lot of fade to black scenes which may not always satisfy the reader’s curiosity. Despite that, the connection between Rick and Lana was believable and fun to watch.

There were a few things that ticked my bookish pet peeves box: the repetitive use of pet names by every character and for every character, Lana’s job which I personally have zero interest in reading about, and her exterior personality. I was also frustrated by the fact that so much of the catalytic events took place in the latter half of the book. The pacing could have been edited in a way that kept me more interested in the middle half of the novel, so that the ending didn’t feel so rushed, cluttered, and lackluster.

The entire novel, starting from the synopsis and the cover blurb, was sprinkled with hints of this mystery moose (spoilers ahead) who does finally make a disappointing appearance literally on one of the last pages. I went in sort of expecting the story to revolve around this moose, and with the way it was mentioned in what felt like every chapter, I really don’t think it got the finale it deserved. Could the moose have saved this book for me? I’m not sure. It definitely wasn’t terrible, and I would recommend this book to light romance enthusiasts. This was just a case of an unlikeable character, who may only be unlikeable to me, myself, and I.

Loved Lana and Rick's story. I was nervous because I didn't love Lana's character in the first book of this series but I seriously think it was so well written. The characters are relatable even within their situations. I enjoyed their flawed personalities and shortcomings as far as dating went.. can't wait to read the rest/last of the series.

This is a charming book with enough witty dialogue to make you laugh throughout.  From an obscene snow sculpture to a moose hunt, what better way to meet this town than through laughter.

This is the second in a series and while I haven't read the first one (yet), this book can be read as a standalone but you would have a better introduction to the town and some of its residents including Zooey and Graham who meet in the first book.

Lana and Rick are the featured couple in this installment and they are polar opposites. Lana is a socialite that runs a global empire or at least part of the company.  Rick is a longtime resident of the town and owns a pool hall which is actually owned by Lana's company.  But there is an attraction and chemistry between the two that cannot be denied.  They have their ups and downs in this relationship and you wonder if they will survive and end up together.

While the author may not (or may have) intended this to be a learning experience, I think Lana grew in who she is as a person and letting go of the family expectations. She has some amazing family members and then a few that are not very nice. But you have to have some tension to round out the story.

I think the only thing I didn't like is that Lana called Rick "Dearest."  I know it is a term of endearment but it sounded weird to me.

Overall, we give it 4 paws up.

Mistletoe and Mr. Right is an adorable read in the lead up to the holiday season. I didn't realize that it's the sequel to The Tourist Attraction but I don't think I missed out on anything by reading out of order.

Lana is a high-powered business woman with the brains to envy. Moose Springs has been her long-awaited passion project because it feels like a home to her. Too bad the locals see her as an intruder who wants to change the nature of their small town vibe. All she wants to do is help it grow and prosper and eventually make a home there. At least she has reinforcements with Zoey and her boyfriend, Graham, a local business owner. Between balancing construction needs, being on the board of her family's multi-million dollar business empire, catching the dreaded Santa Moose that's terrorizing the town's Christmas decor (yes, there's a rogue moose running amuck), she's slowly falling in love with Rick, the laid back resident and quiet owner of the local pool hall. Lana's plans are threatened when her family starts to question her commitment to Moose Springs, viewing it as a waste of financial resources. She has to work overtime to defend the town and the people even if they don't return the sentiment.

This story is simply too adorable and right in keeping with that cozy small town feeling. It's all about people with good intentions who just want to go about doing their own thing. I really liked Lana, too. She's a smart businesswoman who handles herself well even when someone's trying to back her into a corner. She also looks to make personal connections, something she's felt lacking in her upbringing. She's always had to put on a good, professional face so it's easy to see why Moose Springs is a place where she can put that aside and just be.

As for Rick ...I pictured him as Mutt from from Schitt's Creek. He's the guy who just wants to be under the radar, likes simple things and is a wee bit clueless about how to woo the woman he thinks is out of his league. I liked that he isn't intimidated by Lana's career or business smarts. He's only doubtful because he's a true small town guy while she's a world traveler, so his concern is that he won't be exciting enough for her. Seriously, Rick is so endearing and I just want him to have all the good things in life. There's a fantastic scenario they wind up in on their first official date that is so bizarre and just out there. Yeah, bizarre is a good word for it.

It may seem like it's far away but Christmas will be upon us soon. Reading Mistletoe and Mr. Right would be a good start to your holiday season!

I really enjoyed the premise of rich girl/regular guy in Alaska on this one. It was a little silly but also a lot of heartfelt emotional things happening.

One of my least favorite tropes/themes is the regular person being dissuaded from pursuing a relationship with the other character. It think it is lame and takes away agency from the character that is wealthy for them to know "what they deserve"

This book felt like the perfect Hallmark movie. I immediately fell in love with the main character, Lana. She was a boss bitch in more ways than one, but always did it in a respectful way. Our male lead, Rick, was a huge bumbling idiot around her and I LOVED it. I loved that he was being just as cheesy as she was. I feel like in most books like this, the girl is the love sick puppy and the guy is in the drivers seat. Lana Montgomery was in the drivers seat in more ways than one. But I think that is where the book lost it's spark for me. These are two lonely people around Christmas who just don't want to be alone anymore. I do not think that these characters fit together in the real world. Lana, is a millionaire business woman, while Rick is running a failing bar in the middle of nowhere, and despises new customers. I will say though I loved the author's writing style and I absolutely loved the setting. I need to go to Alaska ASAP.

Christmas cheer rating: (not all the Christmas driven, you could read it any time of the year)

Steam Rating: 0 - could recommend to your grandma
