I enjoyed this slow-burn romantic comedy with great characters and funny moments. I mean, from the first paragraph you just start bursting into laughter because that’s a catchy introduction to a new book.
It’s a well-written novel with characters that made appearances in the previous book, it has a lot of interesting moments about life and how the family dynamics can change at any point in one’s life. I can’t say that I’ve got to love them both but I felt for Rick and Lana’s way of finding love throughout the story, overcoming their past and looking forward to a future together.
If you are looking for a good holidays romance, this is the book for you.

Many thanks to the publisher @sourcebookscasa for my review copy.

Mistletoe and Mr. Right is an opposites attract holiday story that I absolutely couldn't put down. Set in the town of Moose Springs, the romantic story centers around Lana and Rick. Lana doesn't have the best reputation in the community - known as a spoiled outsider bent on destroying the community, and Rick is the local bar owner, taking care of his nephew, and just trying to survive. The couple is forced together through a series of hilariously unfortunate accidents, one of which involves the Santa Moose. Although I didn't read The Tourist Attraction prior to Mistletoe and Mr. Right, I didn't feel like I was missing anything significant. This book can be read as a standalone.

Mistletoe & Mr. Right is the perfect holiday book for those longing to return to Moose Springs after The Tourist Attraction. It has the sweetness of a Hallmark movie (I assume—I realize I may never have watched one; I’m much more the Lifetime-for-Women-in-peril TV watcher) with a little more steam (although still basically closed door), holiday-spiced with some small-town Alaska quirk.

Mistletoe follows what’s supposed to be nothing more than a holiday fling for Lana Montgomery. Quick recap: she’s the wealthy town outsider who angered residents with her plan to build luxury condos. But Lana loves the town and truly wants what’s best. While she struggles to balance getting residents on her side and a family member’s desire to make a quick buck at the expense of the town, she can’t helping falling into what should be an ill-fated romance with pool hall owner, Rick. Since Lana’s job requires her to leave, there’s no way they can last.

I didn’t love this one as much as the first book, but there’s no question it’s a fun read. Rick is pretty dreamy, Lana’s a great character, we get plenty of Zoey and Graham from the first book which made me super happy, and we even get a little backstory on Zoey—one of things I thought was missing from The Tourist Attraction—through Lana’s eyes. There are also fun, quirky details like a Santa Moose, costumed taxidermized rodents, and one reappearing sexy Santa costume. If anything, Lana and Rick were such a great couple that the major conflict didn’t seem believable or like something that would stick. To the book’s credit, it’s cleared up pretty quickly. And honestly, who wants a super angsty holiday book? I sure don’t.

If you’re looking for a ticket back to Moose Springs, this book is great. While it could stand alone, I’d recommend reading The Tourist Attraction first. Like any romantic series, reading them out of order spoils the oh-so-mysterious ending of the first book (which I guess this review did as well), but also, it’s a super cute book, so why not?

Always fun to read with @thechicklitbookclub! Thank you to @sourcebookscasa , @sarahmorgenthaler.author and @netgalley for an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Sourcebook for a copy of the book. I was super excited to read this after how much I loved The Tourist Attraction. This story involves Lana and Rick. I found the love interest a bit forced. I did enjoy the book with many funny moments and revisiting old friends from The Tourist Attraction.

Such an adorable little romance! And perfect for the holiday season! I’ll be recommending this to everyone seeking Christmas book’s recommendations this year as I felt like it encapsulated everything I love about this season! So cute!

Mistletoe and Mr. Right by Sarah Morgenthaler is the cutest holiday read. I didn't read The Tourist Attraction so I was missing a little bit of Moose Springs backstory but this book read well as a standalone.

I loved main character Lana Montgomery, although there were a few times I was so frustrated with her choices. I also liked Rick, but I was frustrated with him too! I don't want to give any spoilers away but there were certain points in this book where I wished Rick and his friends would have rallied the town to show more support of Lana, especially when a big goodwill gesture was involved.

I really enjoyed the mature, open communication between Lana and Rick. Although there were communication issues between Lana and the town, there were no problems between the main characters, which was really refreshing!

I loved all the mentions of the places around town, and the scenes that take place at a local B&B had me laughing out loud. The search for the local Santa Moose and the antics that followed were also pretty funny.

Add this one to your list for a fun, romantic, holiday read!

This was such a great holiday romance! I loved the first book of the series ‘The Tourist Attraction’ and I just knew that this one wasn’t going to be any different. In this story we follow Lana & Rick, which were both introduce in the first book. Lana is trying to convince the town of Moose Spring that she belongs which focuses her to tell the town that she would help in catching the Santa moose running around town. In comes Rick, the bar owner that’s been hitting some tough times lately and isn’t getting any easier. He decides to help Lana on this crazy mission of catching this moose.

This was an adorable story. Recommend if you love slow burn romance, some good laughs and of course Christmas!

I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series!

Oh Lana and Rick... I love your flirting and your banter. The first scene of the book is epic and the laughs never stop. Perfect for book club and clean enough for your grandma to read, this is one book you won't want to skip this holiday season! I found myself laughing quite often - something I really needed!

Lana is fighting to keep Moose Springs "afloat", but what might it cost her? Bringing back some of the original characters from Morgenthaler's first Moose Springs book, it's easy to fall in love with this one too. No one in town likes Lana... But I think she has more friends than they realize.

Thank you Sourcebooks for allowing me to read this and give my honest opinion.

I really liked this one way better than the first one. We have an opposites attract romance featuring characters who really have their own goals they want to set out and accomplish. Our main female character is hella strong and wants to run her family business while saving a small town and our main male character is scarred from his divorce. I enjoyed this one!

I very much enjoyed The Tourist Attraction, but will admit I was a little concerned about Mistletoe and Mr. Right being about Lana. She's pretty spoiled and that isn't always my jam. Thankfully I had nothing to be concerned about! Lana fast became one of my favorite people in the town of Moose Springs. She's got a lot more depth then spoiled heiress to a conglomerate company.

Lana fell in love with Moose Springs as a child and has always felt drawn to it, which is why she is out to build condos to draw people (and money) into Moose Springs. The people of Moose Springs do not want this, they detest tourists and fight hard against it, but she knows the town needs them to survive - even if they don't want them. I really appreciated Lana's evolution on her feelings towards what is best for the town and I 100% approve of the final plan put into action.

Rick is a divorcé who has not a relationship in years. He finally decides to get back out there and despite the fact that he knows it isn't good for him, he has his sights set on Lana. Rick is a pretty quiet guy, but that was just the kind of guy Lana needs. He's her rock.

There is so much humor in Mistletoe and Mr. Right, it's the perfect feel good holiday read.

I was so excited to get a copy of Mistletoe and Mr Right and I absolutely adored The Tourist Attraction and the quirky town of Moose Springs.
The second book in the series is about the romance between Lana Montgomery (who we were introduced to in the last book as Zoey's rich best friend) and Rick Harding who is the local pool hall owner. Rick has been attracted to Lana for years and hasn't done anything about it whilst Lana finally notices him when he is the only nice person in town after she buys up all the properties and plans a condo building scheme (in the name of saving it). Its a tame romance that progresses to love very quickly. It was interesting seeing Lana's POV but she certainly spends a lot of time being fake in the name of her families empire. Rick is a typical small town bloke who eats cereal for dinner every night. It's definitely a more surface level romance with comedic moments at time. I love the setting of Moose Springs though and all its quirky characters. I didn't love this one as much as the first though.
Thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca for my eARC copy.

REVIEW: MISTLETOE AND MR. RIGHT

Lana is everything the town of Moose Springs hates; she’s a rich tourist, trying to attract more rich tourists to the small Alaskan town. And the town of Moose Springs is doing everything they can to stop her…except for one man. Rick, the quiet pool hall owner, can’t seem to stop himself from defending Lana. When Lana volunteers to track the “Santa Moose” in order to win the town’s respect, somehow Rich gets drawn into the scheme, and they can’t deny their connection. But can two people with such opposite lives really make it work?

It’s official - I’m now only reading romcoms that have animals in costumes. I loved reading more about Jake (the blind border collie), and this time he’s joined my Darla the hedgehog (who has her own Christmas tree), and the Santa Moose (who hates all things Christmas.) This book is also LAUGH OUT LOUD funny - think phallic snow art, getting “grazed” by a tranquilizer dart, taxidermy squirrels in the hotel of horrors, and a two sizes two small sexy Santa costume level funny. I love how the author kept writing them into the silliest situations. While I’m always here for a boss babe CEO like Lana, Rick was actually my favorite character. I definitely have a thing for the quiet, steady, slightly damaged guy winning the girl of his dreams. While Graham (from the Tourist Trap) was all alpha male bravado, Rick is all low-key humility. And I loved it! What a perfectly cheesy holiday rom com!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)

Ohhhh, I loved this book! It's so much fun! I tried to read it all the time; while cooking, in breaks from work, during my breakfast. I couln't put the book down and that's a good sign.

Lana we already know from the first book but then I couldn't fathom her. She was hard to read. But luckily she got her own book. She totally deserved that! It was so much fun to finally get to know Lana and she is such a lovely person. Rich is also a sweetheart and an asset to the book and Moose Springs. And together? They are totally amazing!

The small town vibes are very strong in this book and I love it! I'm always searching for a book like this, and now I finally found one again. I can't wait for book 3! Is it already 2021?

When is the next flight to Moose Springs and how do I get on it?

I was so excited to go back to the town and these people. I loved getting to know them in the last book, and while I didn't enjoy this quite as much, the town and it's people still play a big and hilarious role. What bothered me is that Lana acted and spoke in a way that made her seem much older than she was, and it was hard to get past at times. Overall, this was still a cute ⭐⭐⭐💫 read and the perfect book to ease into Christmas reading.

This is a cute love story set in beautiful Alaska, complete with a Christmas hating moose. I enjoyed the overall story and dialogue. For me it missed on a few points. 1. Did a business savvy woman really expect the town to welcome her after buying everything up and planning things they don’t like? 2. Did the small business owners, who could barely pay the rent, really think that their shunning of tourist dollars was a good idea? 3. Why did Lana keep calling people, dearest? Even strangers. Perhaps that is a regional thing that I am unaware. In the situation she was in, calling your late-with-the-rent-tenant, dearest comes across as condescending to me.

All that being said…I did like the story and especially Rick. Yes, he did some things that confused me (like eating cereal for every supper, when he is some lumberjack kind of guy) but he was sweet and kind. I also liked Lana despite the few items I mentioned above. I guess not everything has to make sense when romance is involved. Overall, it is a nice little holiday romance.

I really enjoyed this holiday-themed romantic comedy. The setting of a small Alaskan town torn between the economic need for tourism and the desire to remain a quiet comfortable place to live without all the drama is clearly detailed and sets the stage for the conflict between the two main characters.

Rick has a bar that isn't doing very well financially and would be helped by an influx of visitors. He's taking care of his ex-wife's teenaged nephew, whose entire family was killed in a tragic car accident. Lana is a wealthy businesswoman who has fond memories of visiting an aging resort in Moose Springs as a child and wants to see the town prosper. She has plans to have some luxury condos built on the mountain side and owns many of the properties in town - she knows exactly how far behind some of them are on rent, and what needs to be done to help them, but it's an uphill battle to show the townspeople that she has their best interests at heart. Plus she has family members who aren't at all keen on her decision to invest in Moose Springs and are trying to undermine her.

With this backdrop Rick and Lana, who have mutual friends (Lana's best friend married a resident of Moose Springs ) find themselves in each other's company again and again. They develop a friendship and then a romantic relationship. There are lots of funny scenes (including Lana's mission to find the 'Santa Moose', a wild animal who has a thing for destroying Christmas decorations) but also some poignant ones as Rick struggles with how best to help his nephew. Lana's circle of friends is supportive and encouraging even as some of the locals aren't all that friendly (not because they don't like her, but the change she represents). I'd describe the heat level as subtle - kisses and sexual tension but closed door sex scenes. The Christmas theme comes through well too, making this a definite holiday pleaser. Likable characters, sweet romance, and small town antics all combine in a very readable story. I'm already looking forward to the next one!

This was a cute read and the perfect book to put you in the holiday spirit 🎄

I adore small town romances so being in Moose Springs is like a breath of fresh air ❄️ This series was also my first venture into books set in Alaska.

Mistletoe & Mr. Right picked up towards the second half and was a true case of opposites attract. Lana & Rick couldn’t be more different but they just clicked. I found these two adorable and root-able.

Excited to know that Easton’s story is next.

A Hallmark movie in book form.
