A wonderful Christmas story with a smokin’ hot cowboy is just the thing she needed. You will laugh throughout the story and will definitely want to read the entire series.

My two favorite kinds of romance book in one. I loved the characters and the Christmas theme! I could not put down. I hope Kim Redford combines the two again!

This is a cowboy romance, and it is the 7th book in the Smokin' Hot Cowboys series. I have to say that this book is well-paced, but I found the plot and the romance just ok not super great. I did love the characters. I overall liked the book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Sourcebooks Casablanca ) or author (Kim Redford) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review about how I feel about this book, and I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

When I first read the blurb for this story, I was excited to read it, to see where it was going, how it was all going to work out. The story was sweet yet lacked that extra something that would have totally engrossed me in the story.

Rowdy and Belle were total opposites and I still can’t see them together. As for the plot, well it actually turned me against the townspeople of Wildcat Bluff except for 4 wonderful woman who actually kept me reading this story and laughing … you didn’t know what they were going to do next. Yes, the Buick Brigade is what kept me interested. I also felt this was more of a love story between Fernando the Bull and Daisy Sue the Cow more than Rowdy and Belle. But, maybe it was two love stories in one? Not sure there.

Since this is the first of the stories that I have read in this series, I was a little lost with some of the characters and their reasoning behind their deceptiveness and Rowdy being the one chosen to carry it out. I also felt like I was jumping from one place to another, one person to another. I felt like some firefighting was thrown in because it’s supposed to be a firefighter/cowboy story. I didn’t feel like it was part of the story.

Actually, the premise of the story was cute, sweet, but I had a hard time with everything that was going on and with all the different characters. I would have liked a little more character building but, as I said, they may have been built up in other stories that I haven’t read. I would have also liked a little better flow to the story. I just couldn’t get into the reasons behind the deviousness surrounding the whole story.

If you want an enjoyable, opposites-attract romance with a holiday spin, you may want to pick this up.

Overall, it was just a meh romance for me. I didn’t hate it, but I also wasn’t blown away by the characters. It definitely hit that cowboy vibe for me, and I would recommend this one if you like any of the other standalones in the series (I previously read Cowboy Firefighter Heat and liked the romance as well).

I gave this one a solid 3 out of 5 stars.

This entire plot was doomed from the start. Belle's plans for the ranch, the town's efforts to stop her... all of it. I finished it, but it wasn't the greatest romance I've ever read.

Smokin’ Hot Cowboy Christmas is the seventh book in Kim Redford’s Smokin’ Hot Cowboy series. Belle Tarleton, owner and CEO of Lulabelle and You western fashions, has taken over the Lazy Q Ranch in Wildcat Bluff, Texas. Her family from east Texas purchased the west Texas ranch to help out the elder couple who wanted to retire and move closer to family. Her ranching family will continue to manage the ranch and livestock, but Belle has hopes of also creating an arts center on her property, as well as a home office where she can run her business. However, somehow the locals have gotten it into their heads that Belle plans to turn the place into a dude ranch and that just won’t do. So they concoct a plan whereby the son of Bert Holloway, Bert Two, also known as the unluckiest cowboy in the county, will take on the personna of Rowdy, handyman and free spirit.

After being left high and dry by several contractors, Belle turns to Hedy Murray, head honcho of Wildcat Bluff Fire Rescue, begging for help, hence the plan was concocted. But rather than help her achieve her goals, the plan is to go so painfully slowly that Belle becomes so frustrated she returns to her company’s headquarters in Dallas. But the plan backfires when Belle and Rowdy meet and sparks fly.

The community has more than underestimated Belle and when the Buick Brigade, four elderly ladies that seem to work magic, takes a shine to Belle and enlist her to change Rowdy’s luck, the story takes off in different directions.

This is a well crafted story that incorporates humor, romance, mystery, and the story of a very determined woman, the equally determined little girl from the next ranch, and the love story of a large black bull and his beloved cow. With many surprises and a heartwarming plot, I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!

This book ended up being not for me. I had a hard time connecting with the characters in this book. Something about their connection didn't ring true for me. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Smokin’ Hot Cowboy Christmas is the seventh story in the Smokin’ Hot Cowboys series – and, frankly, up to this point, I completely fell in love with and adored this small town full of interesting people and stories that touched my heart every time. But not this time.

Since when did the good folks of Wildcat Bluff become such bullies and really not so nice people? Seriously people – what kind of kool-aid have you been guzzling to act this way? Okay, so you’re concerned that Belle’s new ranch/business will bring in strangers to the town, that there will be too much traffic, too much everything that will take away from the “special feel” of this usually welcoming town. No. Just no, these aren’t the townsfolk I’ve come to enjoy over the years with this series. At. All.

And then… then when the Buick Brigade welcomes Belle, gets behind her, supports her somehow the wisdom of the people doing all of this damage to Belle still keep on with their plans. We all know that these ladies rule Wildcat Bluff, and no one ever pulls one over on these ladies… and you think suddenly a newcomer like Belle could have done that? Again, seriously, dudes.

Do not get me started on Rowdy. He was falling in love with Belle. And he still continued to lie, deceive, misrepresent what he’s doing to her business – and to her heart. Disappointed in these people (sure fictional but I’ve known them for a while now) beyond words.

So, I’m completely torn on my views of Smokin’ Hot Cowboy Christmas. On one hand, it was such fun to return to a comfortable place where I knew the background of most of the secondary characters we run into and liked most of them. The chemistry between Rowdy and Belle was off the charts and I really wanted to see them together, happy, and beyond all this nonsense. I adore the Buick Brigade, those elders will always make me laugh or chuckle with their shenanigans so they were a bright spot for me. Yet. One of my favorite fictional towns just turned into a huge bully – and that does not sit well.

In the end, I’m going to say that Smokin’ Hot Cowboy Christmas is a good story, and at the base of the romance part, it is, no denying that. If you’ve followed this series, then you’ll certainly want to pick this one up to continue on that journey. Every reader has their own opinion about any story, so read Belle and Rowdy’s story and make up your own mind. I loved the romance, was disappointed in many of the characters so it was a 3.5 star “good” read for me this time. As always, Kim Redford’s writing is spot on, she weaves an intriguing tale — and it’s totally on me that I saw the townsfolk’s actions far differently than I usually would in this series. If this is your first time in Wildcat Bluff, please go check out the series from the beginning, I have to say that the characters I’ve known and loved throughout this series will make that worth your while.

Belle is new in Wildcat Bluff County, and her modern ways make local people nervous. So Rowdy puls the shortest straw and is the one who has to unhelp Bell by her planes to update her ranch. Soon Rowdy realizes that they are making a mistake but feelings develop between him and Bell and with each passing day there is harder and harder, to tell the truth. There is so much going on from pigeons, cows, and bulls, to abounded house and there is not a thing about Christmas. Also, the love story between Bell and Rowdy is such abruptly that I didn't feel it although the characters are developed.

Really loved all the small-town flavor on this heartwarming holiday journey. This adventure is filled with witty and engaging charters, heart racing twists, divided loyalties and undeniable passion. Highly entertaining holiday adventure.

When Belle needs help fixing up her ranch in time for Christmas who else would be there to help her than the smokin' cowboy Rowdy. The only thing that fell a little flat for me was the chemistry between Belle and Rowdy. It just did not measure up to the normal I've come to expect from the smokin' hot cowboys series.

Overall a fun cowboy Christmas romance.

Smonkin’ Hot Cowboy Christmas is the seventh book in Redford’s Smokin’ Hot Cowboys and was my first read into the series. I did not feel that I was missing out on not reading the other books and it was fast paced however, as the book is supposed to be Christmas and the only Christmas part was that she wanted her ranch ready for Christmas and the county was preparing for Christmas festivities but there was then nothing Christmas other than that so it missed the mark in my opinion. I also really, really didn’t like the ending, it left me hanging and I am not happy at all.

Smokin’ Hot Cowboy Christmas by Kim Redford was an enjoyable story. The story was well written, and the characters were well developed. This is Belle and Burt’s (Rowdy) romance story. The attraction of Belle and Rowdy was not thoroughly flushed out like I am used to in other stories, so it lacked the punch that two characters have when falling in love. Some areas of the story were humorous and fun. It was a quick holiday read that I am sure others will enjoy.

This was a fun read cowboy read with plenty of laughs, sexy cowboys a determined women and a miss guided town in regards to what they think Belle is up to versus what she really wants to do. You meet some great characters that have you rolling your eyes, giggling and want to shake them as well as a storyline that keeps you turning the page to see what how things will pan out!

I am not sure how I feel about this story. It comes across as bullying by the town and it just doesn't sit well. It was an interesting read though.

Smokin' Hot Cowboy Christmas is the first book of Kim Redford that I have read. and it is ok. The storyline is well-written and the characters are likeable, but the sizzling chemistry is missing. The instances between the main characters are not engaging enough. I like fast paced, more chemistry ,more banter. This is just my personal opinion, and other readers may find the story more engaging..

This is Bert Two's story or Rowdy sounds better to me - anyway when Belle enters the picture and the short straw is drawn, hold on tight and enjoy this West Texas story of love and finding a home forever!

Smokin' Hot Cowboy Christmas book seven in the series by Kim Redford. A fun holiday escape full of drama and steamy romance. The perfect book to snuggle up with a cozy blanket and escape to another time, another place. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

This is the first book by Kim Redford that I have read. I will say it was a bit of a challenge being the seventh book in the series. I had a little trouble following along with who was who, but after a bit I just tried to focus on the story.

Belle has moved to the area and is trying to spruce up a ranch house where she will have her company headquarters. She also wants to have community events and art. Every person or company she hires to help with renovating, leaves her hanging. Until Rowdy comes to her rescue.

Bert aka Rowdy has been given the task of making sure the renovations at Belle's ranch don't happen by the "lovely" town's people. They are some of the worst people I have met in a book in a while. Since I have not read any of the previous books, I had no way of knowing if they had any redeeming qualities.

I ached at how hard Belle tried to be so sweet and kind to people that had no intention of letting her into their community. Eventually, the people of the community come to see the error of their ways...about time, and welcome Belle.

In the end things work out but for some reason I had a hard time forgiving those people, Belle is a much better person than me. I have had a few days to reflect on the book, I have to give kudos to Ms Redford. When I can't stop thinking about characters from a book days later, it was well written. I will wait to see what else she comes up with but I can not read anymore about those town people!
