It's one of those books that makes you reflect and are full of food for thought.
I loved how the conversation flows and how the different topics are discussed making you feel like you were there.
It's not an easy and light read but it keeps you interested as you cannot help thinking about what you read.
i strongly recommend it.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

If you've ever wanted to be a fly (other insects available...) on the wall hearing a conversation that involves at least one theological heavy weight that you know of (I'd heard of Williams but not Garrett) then this book is for you. It covers a wide range of topics and has something for everyone. Williams displays his usual breadth of knowledge across a wide variety of topics, is insightful, humorous and engaging. The book is set out kind of like a transcript from an interview with each speaker's initials preceding their contribution. The book is far more accessible than some of Williams' more academic works yet not quite as indepth as his more popular 'mainstream' level books and Garrett's contribution is as compelling as that of Williams. In fact the only downside for me. is that alot is covered but in not quite the depth I'd like but then that probably fits the style of what is a more conversational book. There is much scope for further reading and study should you choose to do that but too often I found myself wishing the conversation would continue on one topic but they move on to another. If you imagine yourself in a coffee shop (tricky in coronavirus era) chatting to a friend for a few hours then you'll know you can cover a wide range of interests but none at any particular depth (although at times Williams' can write a single sentence and it 'feels' deep! I think it will suit a more popular mainstream level audience than those wanting more depth (who can choose from any number of books in Williams' and other writer's catalogues) but for that very reason it is a book which I hope will be read far and wide and for any who see Williams' as merely an academic they will find him far more engaging here. For those more academically minded...well...it's Williams...you'll want it in your library anyway and will enjoy the lighter more conversation tone. Highly recommended reading and should find its way beyond the borders of high street bookstores to church book stalls as well.

Thanks to NetGalley and SPCK for ARC.
