Autumn Allure was a sweet romance between Nate a known playboy who suddenly finds out he has a 4 year old daughter whose mother is dying of cancer and the town librarian Maxine. Nate is out of his element taking care of a child, but Autumn has become fond of Max at the library. Max comes to live with Nate and Autumn to help out and they all fall for each other. There is a lot of growth with the adult characters as they learn how to love.

I didn't enjoy this much at all. The premise was good but it started off slow and disjointed and never seem to pick up.

If you’re looking for a light and breezy fake boyfriend/girlfriend trope with an adorable 4-½ year old girl thrown in, this is the book for you. It’s a clean romance with wholesome characters and the expected ending. Maxine “Max” and Nate are an unlikely couple since he’s the town man ho and she’s the librarian, but they are fairly compatible, their main commonality being their love of Autumn, Nate’s surprise little girl.

Max is 27, two years older than Nate, and was friendly with Nate’s older sister Rachael during high school. “She’d listened to Rachael talk more than once about the pieces of broken bottle and broken heart she’d had to pick up for her little brother.” Nate knows everyone and is friends with everyone, and it seems like he has slept with every woman. This influences Max’s decision not to sleep with him, because she doesn’t want to be like the others.

When Nate finds out about Autumn and agrees to take care of her until her aunt can come get her, he doesn't know how he can do it without help. Meanwhile, Max has met Autumn and immediately feels something for her and wants to help. Both are secretly wondering whether Max could live with Nate and Autumn to help take care of her (nothing more than that at first), but Nate immediately shuts down the idea, thinking, “She was way out of his league.” I found this fascinating because Nate came across as extremely confident, and rightly so, based on his popularity. Nevertheless, he felt a certain amount of inferiority due to Max’s perceived superior intelligence and more mature behavior. At the same time, Max felt inferior because Nate appeared so confident and was so well-liked and well-known around town.

Autumn, of course, was the primary focus of the story, and it was obvious that Nate would want to keep his daughter. It was also obvious that he and Max were going to fall in love. When he and Max found out that Autumn’s aunt Penny would be coming a month earlier than expected, they put off telling Autumn. I understand the tendency to procrastinate something unpleasant, but they waited until the night before Penny was scheduled to arrive to tell Autumn she would be leaving the next day! To me, that showed a poor understanding of the need to prepare a child for a significant change and demonstrated an immaturity and lack of fitness to care for her. The other thing that struck me as odd was that when Nate talked about keeping Autumn, he told Max that he would see if he could “adopt” her. That doesn’t seem like the right word to me, since he was her father. It seems like more of a custody issue. Other than that, the plot worked.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC of this book, a quick and fun Christmas read.

A great story about finding love in unexpected places. Max and Nate are great characters, both with their flaws and issues, but grew nicely during the book. The plot is complex, with several sub-plots to keep things lively, making this a compelling read. I loved the little girl Autumn, and would have liked her to have a more active role in the story, but she was quite cute as is. Max’s mother, Bethany, was a real character, and just when I was tired of her “pageant” ways, she surprised me with effusive praise for her daughter. An all-around good read. I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. This is my freely given, honest review.

This story was so heartwarming. I could not put it down and ended up devouring it in a single day. I fell in love with Nate and Max and Autumn. It was a joy to watch Nate fall in love with his daughter and realize the joy that love and family bring to your life.

If you want a feel good book to cozy up with I would highly recommend this one.

Enjoyed reading this book!!

Nate Hunter is a playboy, who spends his days recovering from hangovers just to start drinking while he tends bar at Jimmy's at night. When a woman, Lexi, from a drunken spring break fling shows up sick and dying with his 4 year old daughter in tow, Nate's world changes overnight. He has no idea how to take care of himself how can he take care of a child?

Maxine Abbot is everything her former beauty pageant mother, Bethany isn't; reserved, a bookworm, doesn't like bring center of attention. When Bethany wants to run for Town Council and insists on Max running her campaign she also insists on Max changing her image. Max is a librarian and is very happy being single.

When she meets Nate and his daughter, Autumn, at a children's hour at the library Nate sees how good Mac is with kids. Max is good friends with his sister, Rachel, and she agrees that having Max move in with him to help with Autumn until her Aunt comes to get her in 3 months. Mate's proposal helps Max, because he agrees to be her fake boyfriend which will get Bethany off her back as well.

What they both didn't expect the explosive chemistry between them to turn into love they both couldn't be without. But when Autumn's Aunt shows up sooner than expected, their little bubble is threatened. Will it fall apart?

A must read!

Autumn Allure is the fourth book in the Pine Point series, but perfect as a stand-alone book also. The author was new to me, but I love small-town romance troupes, and this was interesting and full of humor. Nate Hunter was a bartender and a no-string relationship kind of man. When a previous fling from a few summers ago arrives and tells him she is dying of cancer and he has a four-year-old daughter, Nate is astonished. He knew nothing of children but seeing Autumn made him want to be a good dad. With his sister moving out of their family farmhouse he is lost trying to be a single parent. Maxine “Max” Abbott was a librarian and a friend of Nate’s sister. Max’s mother won’t stop pushing men at her and Max has grown tired of living with her mother. She desperately needs to move out and comes up with the idea of moving in with Nate to help with Autumn until Autumn’s aunt comes home in a few months. In return for her helping with Autumn, Nate will pretend to be her boyfriend to get her mother off her back. The characters were great and I loved Max’s mother and her quirkiness.

I received a free copy of Autumn Allure in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this novel. It had a wholesome and realistic plot. The balance between character development and plot building was tastefully done. The author, Allie Boniface, did a great job introducing Autumn, and maintaining her as a strong secondary character without overwhelming the main characters, Nate and Max. Overall, this was just a really well thought out and executed novel. I'd definitely recommend to friends and family.

.Nate Hunter is living a carefree lifestyle co-managing a bar and partying the rest of the time. When a dying ex-fling woman tells him that he is a father, Nate is unprepared to temporarily take care of his daughter. The town children's librarian Max is getting more pressure from her glamorous mother to gussy herself up and find a man to help her mother's town council campaign. Nate approaches Max for help and Max agrees to move in to his extra bedroom and pose as his girlfriend. I received a free copy of this book from the publisher through Netgallery. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. I love these fake relationships that turn into real ones. I love this is a sweet romance where we only witness kissing. His daughter Autumn is very sweet and I felt very realistic. This is the first book that I have read by this author, but it won't be the last.

A really sweet story about Nate and Max who turn their fake relationship into a real one. I always love an MC who is a librarian, in this case Max. She's a quiet, type A, down-to-Earth daughter of a former beauty queen who finally moves out and realizes her own dreams throughout the book. And Nate is a former bartender and playboy who is surprised with a 4 year old daughter. This forces him to grow up, change careers, and learn what love is.
This book is full of all sorts of love stories, between family, friends, and significant others. It totally gave me warm fuzzies! I will totally read Sienna's story in hopes of hearing more about England.

This was such a sweet and wonderful romance. This is my first read by this author and definitely won’t be my last. Nate lives the bachelor life until a lady from his past comes and tells him that he has a daughter, Autumn, he knew nothing about. Nate asks Maxine the local librarian if she will help take care of Autumn, she agrees, if Nate will be her pretend boyfriend to get her mom off her back. Will their pretend relationship become more than friendship? This book was so good, the characters have depth and are likable, the storyline is compelling and it’s one I definitely recommend.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Thank you publisher and Netgalley for for an eARC of this book for my honest opinion.

The clean romance novel, Autumn Allure, has a nice story line and likable characters. I was confused in the beginning as chapters switched from each character, without warning on connection, as a way to introduce them, but eventually realized the set-up when they finally meet. I was confused in parts of the story and did not always see the connections or the direction the story was going.
I was really confused by the romance. It seemed they slept together, but I really couldn't tell throughout the story so when I got to the end, I was actually surprised and finding myself wondering if I missed a sentence or two telling me they actually slept together.
Nate and Max are complete opposites that attract. I felt that Nate's carefree "bad boy" and the changes that occur were well developed. Max and her relationship with her overbearing mom was a nice touch and especially when they have a heart to heart about why she is always on Max about certain things. This was a quick and simple read with enjoyable characters.

Thanks go to the publisher and Net-Galley for the complimentary copy of Autumn Allure by Allie Boniface for the purpose of reading and reviewing prior to publication. A contemporary romance and Book 2 in her Whispering Pines series. My opinions are my own and no one has influenced me.

Autumn Allure is a well-written novel with engaging characters and an emotionally charged plot. The pacing is excellent and kept me enmeshed from the first page to the last. Ms. Boniface paints a lovely picture of the small-town Whispering Pines, giving me enough description without interfering with the story.

Maxine Abbott’s character is a delightful mix of prim librarian, loyal daughter, and friend. Maine, only her mother calls her that, she’s Max to everyone else, is ready for something to change in her life. She’s applied for the prestigious All Bright scholarship for years, but each year, she doesn’t get it. When she offers to help the hero take care of Autumn, she asks if she can move in and be his pretend girlfriend.

Max is an endearing character and stole my heart from the first page to the last. She’s so genuine with everyone and has the patience of a saint with her quirky mother. Her feelings run deep, and while she doesn’t wear her heart on her sleeve, she loves deeply.

Nate Hunter is an intriguing hero. He’s lived the life of a playboy, working as a bartender, always ready to party with his friends and has never had a girlfriend. He does love women and enjoys to sleeping with lots of them. I enjoyed his reaction when his past hits him. An ex-lover shows up, telling him he’s the father of a four-year-old daughter. The mother is dying, and she needs him to take Autumn until her sister returns from a mission trip.

Overwhelmed by fatherhood, when Max makes her offer, he’s relieved, but as he gets to know his daughter, and having Max around, he wants a different life. I became vested in his character from the start. He’s such an easy-going guy, but accepts responsibility without any hesitation. I enjoyed his transformation from party animal to Dad!

The romance between Max and Nate develops from a mutual desire to do right by Autumn. As they parent her together, the mutual attraction grows stronger by the day. I loved their sweet love story and wanted them to find their happy ending.

If you enjoy contemporary romance with characters that will tug at your heartstrings, then you will love Autumn Allure as much as I. I can’t wait to read the next book in this fantastic series. This is the third book I’ve read by the talented Ms. Boniface, and she’s becoming an auto-buy author for me. Happy reading!

If you want a quick, easy read with no deep complications and a HEA, then this is the story for you. The characters were easy to like and the plot was uncomplicated. The characters never built a relationship, just jumped into "I love you". For me, something was just missing. I wanted more character development, more relationship development and more romance. This is the kind of story to read if you just want to relax and not think too much.

This was a really enjoyable read. I was 80% through the book before realizing there was no sex scene written. Yes, you guessed that the characters had sex but a scene was not written. Normally I get a bit peeved when I read a romance book and they skip the sex scene as it is a big part of a relationship but in this book somehow it didn't matter. The characters were well developed so perhaps that was a part of it. This was a book about taking responsibility, chasing your dreams and never giving up. I would recommend this book for young adults as well as there were some powerful lessons in this book. Nate a carefree guy who is in no hurry to take on adult responsibilities is faced with having to step up and take on the care of his young daughter. Maxine is the small town librarian with bigger dreams than staying in the small town. Together they agree to take care of Autumn (Nate's daughter) until her Aunt can come and take her. A lovely story of small town but a big love story.

Autumn Allure
Rating: 4 stars

Thank you to the publisher for the ARC given through NetGalley for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

This is the first book I read by this author and it will not be the last! I really enjoyed reading about Nate and Max. This was a sweet, clean romance. It all happened because Nate and Max decided to go into a fake relationship to help each other out as friends. I loved how well written these characters were and the maturity Nate gained when his past comes back with a sweet surprise.

Highly recommended!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. These are great characters and believable with all their flaws. A librarian who isn't quite so typical, her mother who has nursed her Miss New York title for years who decides to campaign forva council seat in their community, a bartender with a reputation for loving them and leaving them is faced with a 4 yr old daughter he never knew about and that precious daughter named Autumn and how they all find a challenge that brings them character and live.
