This third book in the Duke Dynasty is my favorite so far in the series. The characters are terrific, intelligent, secretive, and thoroughly likeable, although they both prefer to be on the fringes of society rather in the middle of it. Lady Lydia Fletcher has been married three times each time to a Duke and so three of her sons are also dukes. In the previous books the sons are questioning whether their fathers were murdered rather than by the cause of deaths given so many years ago. First they need to prove that the oldest, Grey 's father died from arsenic poisoning rather than a argue. That calls for the very special talents of one Miss Olivia Norley, who is a chemist. Unfortunately, Thorn (2nd son and the Duke of Thornstock) had a rather unpleasant encounter with Olivia and her stepmother nine years before. As much as Thorn does not like her, he is strongly attracted to her. Will the sparks between these two finally Ignite and burst into something much stronger? What will be the outcome of their investigation? More importantly will they be able to determine the who and why?

What a fun read. Thorn and Olivia are as different as chalk and cheese, but their chemistry is explosive. A true case of opposites attract. Loved this book as much as others I've read by Ms. Jeffries. Looking forward to the next.
Thank you Sabrina Jeffries, Kensington Books and NetGalley for allowing me an advance copy for my honest feedback.

This book did not really keep my interest. I did not find much chemistry between Thorn and Olivia. Speaking of chemistry....there was to much of it! I wanted romance, not a chemistry lesson.

This book was so fun! I’ve read a couple of other books from this author and really enjoyed them. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this was just as good as those. I enjoyed the story and the characters were very well written.

This was another great book by one of my favorite authors. I really liked Olivia and Thorn, although there were times when Thorn got on my nerves. I love the continuation of this family and the mystery they are trying to uncover throughout the series. I can’t wait for the next book! I highly recommend.

I have forgotten how much I love SJ stories. It was so good, passionate, emotional, and wonderful. The characters were great and the plot was so entertaining. I loved every second of it and want more. The characters were vibrant and easy to fall in love with, the main couple were great together, and the conflict was believable and entertaining. Loved every second of it and had a hard time putting it down.

An overall good story with a solid plot, likeable main characters, and some mystery/intrigue to keep things flowing.

While I appreciate the extensive research authors do on historical sciences, I mostly skipped over the descriptions of all of the chemist speak because I found it very dull. I was also disappointed that there wasn't as much steam in this story as there has been in other books by this author - I didn't feel the couples' chemistry as much as I would have liked.

I received an ARC of this book via netgalley.
That book was a good read for me, it isn't the best historical fiction novel out there but it was highly entertaining.
Olivia's character was written beautifully, she has her own thoughts, can admit when she's wrong and best of all, a woman of science!!
Thorn's character wasn't ...bad?
He was all lusty and he discovered he loved her at the very ending.
So, overall, it was a good distraction from life

I have read a lot of Sabrina Jeffries books when I was younger and I am a fan. I forgot how good of a writer she is. Who Wants to Marry a Duke is the third in the series. I had not read the first two but I didn't feel lost or confused. This was the duke of Thornstock and Olivia Norleys story. Olivia immediately intrigues Thorn from the start with her oddities. She's not like anyone he's ever met but when they share a kiss everything gets construed. So when thorns brother Grey decides to have Olivia help him to determine if his father was murdered by way of arsenic through some chemistry experiments. Thorn goes along to keep an eye on her. I feel thorn is a bit ignorant in the ways of Olivia. He saw her for her right off but then some how ignores his first instinct and goes with the second which is completely wrong. That was frustrating for me. I wanted To reach in the story and shake him. I have to say I'm a huge fan of Olivias mother. Some of the things she would say to Olivia were so sweet and moving. I loved this story. I was surprised by it because I'm not really a fan of murder mysterys but Sabrina Jeffries weaved love and mystery in, in a very smooth, enjoyable way. I found myself invested in this story and can not wait for the next book!! #netgalley.

Another solid installment in Jeffries' newest series! This is the third book in the Duke Dynasty series and I think best enjoyed if you've read the previous two books. The series follows the siblings of a large family and has an overarching murder mystery plot that ties all the books together. The mystery element is a bit more prominent in this book than the previous two and it seems we're finally making some progress on why all these dukes keep ending up dead! I enjoyed following Olivia and Thorn as they get their HEA years after their initial meeting goes horribly awry. As always, I look forward to recommending this one and reading more from Jeffries in the future.

Thorn met Olivia through an odd circumstance and when Olivia’s mama tries to blackmail Thorn into offering for Olivia, he does...only to be turned down by Olivia! It’s 9 years later and Thorns family is in need of Olivia’s help. Specifically her knowledge of chemistry. She and Thorn begin to get close and spend time together. When a shadow figure threatens to derail Olivia’s experiment Thorn will do anything to keep her safe...possibly even fall in love.

I really enjoyed this book! It’s the third book in the Duke dynasty series. I enjoyed the push and pull of Olivia and Thorn and I am very intrigued with the over arching storyline that started in book 1. Vanessa and Sheridan are very interesting characters so I am looking forward to the next book!!

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

The plot thickens as Grey and Thorn set out to find out if their fathers and uncles were murdered and by who. This third book in the series, is about Marlowe "Thorn" Drake, Duke of Thornstock, who doesn't believe in love, until it surprisingly hits him in the head and he stupidly almost loses the love of his life.

Nine years ago, recently having return to London and warned by his half brother, Grey (Duke of Greycourt), about the extremes that mothers and daughters will go to land a duke, he met the unconventional Miss Olivia Norley, whose only interest is chemistry. There is quite a bit of chemistry going on between them, but when her stepmother tries to blackmail him into offering for her and then she refuses, because she is only willing to marry for love, he becomes quite angry at her and writes the two of them, step mother and daughter, into the plays that he secretly writes, under his friend's name. But now the four half brothers have become suspicious of the deaths of their mother's husbands and the previous 2 Dukes of Greycourt. Believing that his father was poisoned with arsenic, Grey hires Olivia to prove it and brings her to his estate along with his wife and suspicious Thorn decides to tag along. But when her lab is deliberately blown up, he realizes that he doesn't want to lose her and he is going to protect her, while they continue their investigation.

Ms Jeffries has created wonderful characters with an intriguing plot of solving a mystery while also finding romance for those characters. Vivid descriptions and lively banter add to this delicious read.
I read an ARC from NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

This was adorable. I devoured this book and I loved the characters. The plot had the right amount of believable and whimsical aspects and the relationship was well developed.

I'm sitting on the fence still with my review for this book. I did enjoy the book but the H and h still never felt like they had a connection to me. I like Olivia but with Thorn he came across as one historical romance male lead that shouldn't have been the lead. He was just always off for me. I'll continue with this series but this one is a miss for me.

I read this book without having read the other books in the series, which may have been a mistake on my part. Perhaps I would have enjoyed the plot more with added context and background. However, I still found the plot intriguing and was satisfied by this book. I'm not typically a fan of second chance romances, but I enjoyed the chemistry between the love interests. The sex scenes, however, were not quite my style. I found myself cringing a bit more than I would have hoped. Overall, I'd give this book at 3 stars because I feel like it would be an enjoyable part of a longer series.

Who Would Marry a Duke (Duke Dynasty #3). By Sabrina Jeffries. 2020. Zebra. (ARC eBook).

“Thorn,” the Duke of Thornstock would much rather be working on his latest play then attending a house party, but as he catches sight of Miss Olivia Norley with his sister-in-law, suspicions arise as to why the spinster is cozying up with his family. When he learns that his half-brother Grey is proceeding forward with his suspicions that the husbands of their thrice-widowed mother were murdered and has hired a chemist to test the remains of Grey’s father for poison, Thorn announces he will keep an eye on the chemist. The chemist of course is Olivia, who along with her step-mother years ago schemed to have him caught in a compromising position in order to force an offer of marriage. Still nursing a grudge, Thorn isn’t convinced that Olivia should be trusted with the delicate nature of his sibling’s investigation. But the more he is around the inquisitive, forthright and play-loving Olivia, the more willing he is to be burned by the chemistry sparking between them.

I really enjoy this series and how the mystery and danger builds with each installment. We’ve seen Thorn’s respect for Grey and protectiveness for his twin sister Gwen. But he’s always maintained to not believing in love. Olivia is a good match for him to shed his rakish image and stop worrying over how London society would view him growing up in Prussia. They can embrace and pursue their love for chemistry and play-writing respectively, and be “outcasts” together. I’m looking forward to reading the straight-laced Sheridan’s story, and seeing another beautiful Duke Dynasty cover.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book and I admit that my expectations were a little low. Thorn did not seem to acquit himself well in the two preceding books in the series. He seemed aloof at best. And the idea of pairing him with a chemist seemed like an odd fit.

However, all my preconceived notions were, as is often the case, incorrect. SABRINA JEFFRIES CREATED ANOTHER WONDERFUL ROMANCE. Thorn turned out to be not just passionate, because we all know that aloof behavior can often be suppressing that, but truly caring and compassionate. It turns out he was even wounded by Olivia once upon a time. Who knew the lowly chemist would have such power over a duke?

The story unfolded in an interesting way continuing the mystery of the death of the three dukes that began with the first book in the series. I highly recommend these books be read in order. This is not a standalone book due to the important mystery running throughout them.

Another Sabrina Jeffries' hit! I do love her stories - and her style and voice - so this was another great read! Brava!

Olivia Norley and the Duke of Thornstock met 9 years ago on a night that started with a kiss, but ended with a lot of chaos and almost a wedding. Even so long after, Thorn could not forget or forgive the scheme and the blackmail done by Olivia's stepmother. Both their reputation suffered from the scandal. But now, his half brother Grey has hired the brilliant Miss Norley, a chemistry expert, to carry out a scientific experiment and try to solve a family mystery. However, Thorn has no confidence in the girl's motivations to accept participating in the experiment and decides that he will keep an eye on her every step.

Olivia, on the other hand, has already tried to get involved with the Duke once and suffered the consequences, so she is not interested in paying attention to him. Her only wish now is to be able to do her job, the chemistry role she loves and stand out in her field. And what better chance than investigating whether the former Duke, Grey's father, was indeed poisoned by arsenic? If she succeeds in the test she will be a pioneer! She won't let her opportunity pass. Even if Thorn doesn't leave her side, watching everything. Even if the constant proximity to him awakens long-dormant desires and feelings ...

This was my first contact with the author, Sabrina Jeffries, and I can already say that I really liked it! Despite having taken the series in half, after all this is the 3rd book, and I didn't read the first two, the author situates us and it was not very difficult to understand the general context.
Among the positive points I can highlight about the story: Olivia, our protagonist, is super smart, strong and determined. She has always been passionate about chemistry, studied hard and knows what she is doing. Since she is 27 years old and has not married, her goal now is to be recognized and have a career as a chemist. But she is also fun and passionate and we just can't help but like her.
Thorn begins the book as a standard rake: totally cynical for love, a conqueror pose and a cold heart. He doesn't believe in love, but he also finds himself unable to stay away from Olivia. It's cute to see him fall in love and Olivia to destroy all his barriers. The chemistry, this time between the couple, is sensational! Think of a couple that catches fire, guys? It's those two!
I really liked the book working with such different themes in a historical novel, Olivia with chemistry, Thorn, in turn, writes plays, and still has all the mystery behind the death of the men in his family and Grey's. It is impossible for us not to get caught up in the plot. The secondary characters were well crafted too, giving fun and interesting tones to the whole ensemble. I was super curious to know the couples' stories from the previous books.
Now on the negative points of the story: I thought the ending was too hasty. The disagreement between the couple resolves too quickly and I was looking forward to a more complex resolution.
Another point, but not exactly negative, is that the murder mystery does not end in this book, and the next one will only be released next year, so I will sink in curiosity until then.
In general, it is a very good book! I was super happy to meet a new author and like it so much. Now I really need to read the complete series and look forward to the next one!

This book (#3) is my favorite so far in the Duke Dynasty series by Ms. Jeffries. I loved the way Miss Olivia Norley and Marlowe Drake, the Duke of Thornstock, first meet and how they have to face each other again years later. Their banter is funny and Olivia's interest in chemistry brings a refreshing turn this kind of story.
I'm looking forward to the last installment of this series!
