I greatly enjoyed reading this full size novel "Romancing Nadine"! I read "Loving Jenna" by Amy Lillard in the past, and this was a wonderful sequel to that book. It picked up where the last book left off, only from the grandmother's perspective. I loved the richly developed characters, and the very realistic fears and concerns of a parent/grandparent of an individual with special needs. Thru the life of her special granddaughter, Nadine learns how to finally recognize and receive love that she herself has denied herself for many years.

Ms. Lillard does a spectacular job of describing all of the details. I truly felt like I was in the pages of this book seeing everything with my own eyes. This is a wonderful talent on the side of an author! I will absolutely be watching for the next books in this series! The books are building up toward some wonderful conclusions!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Kensington Books through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Amy Lillard writes Amish Fiction quite well, usually. But Romancing Nadine aggravated me. Amos Fisher claims that Nadine Burkhart is the woman God has chosen for him. He pursues her relentlessly in spite of rebuff after rebuff. She finally caves in to his pursuit and begins to care for him.

In this book, I see so many things wrong. Nadine lives with her widowed daughter-in-law and the two of them take grumpiness to new levels. Nadine's lack of personableness make this book hard to read. I was tempted more than once to just give up on the book and move on to something else.

This is at best a two star book. Some people might like it, but the premise was too hard for me to grasp.

Kensington Books and NetGalley.com provided the copy I read for this review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Romancing Nadine ( Wells Landing #9 )
By Amy Lillard
Romancing Nadine is book nine in the series Wells Landing. I really enjoyed this story.
A very sweet and heart warming story that is filled with faith , trust, and romance when you aren’t looking for it. I was proud to read this story about Nadine and Amos, both are in their sixties . I really laughed and laughed at these two all through the story. Do you think age matters when love hits you? Love the story and the characters, both were well written.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book , but was not told that I had to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.

I’ve read the entire series which fills out the town, I recommend it. This book is about Nadine and Amos. I like that it focuses on a mature romance. There is a lot of humor in this book and light hearted moments. Lillard has a way of showing the many shades of Plain life. A fun read.

Wells Landing is a favorite little town. I love all of the stories set here by Amy Lillard. Romancing Nadine tells the story of Nadine Burkhart. She has moved to Wells Landing in order for her daughter and granddaughter to make a new start. However, God has more in than that in mind for Nadine. Amos Fisher has not courted in years. He has also not felt at home anywhere for a long time. Meeting Nadine makes him want to rethink his priorities. Will he be able to overcome her stubbornness?

You don't get to read many stories about romance set after a certain age. I love how these characters were set in their ways thinking that at their age life was just that life. Neither really imagined a new life path. Amy Lillard always has characters that are relatable. I find her stories enjoyable reads especially when I want to relax. Her books are a must read for me. A received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not a requirement.

A Great Story about Romance for the over 60s

I am a big fan of Amy Lillard's style of writing. Her stories have a cast of characters with rich back histories and depth that pulls you into the story. She shows readers an insight to the Amish way of life that rings true. This story was different from most with a storyline that showed a more flexible approach to the Amish faith. These characters met when most people are settled or have given up on finding love. They found in each other a happiness that they hadn't realized was missing. I really enjoyed it and recommend it!

A sweet older Amish romance between Nadine and Amos. Liked this one and found it sweet, although Nadine got on my nerves after awhile. I can see why she would be afraid to love again, after losing 2 husbands, but at times she was rude and unfair to Amos. Good thing he is a nice guy and understands her. Would recommend this book.

I love the continuity in this series, how the characters continue throughout subsequent books. Nadine is twice widowed and single. Amos has never married and feels that Nadine was meant to be his wife. Unfortunately Nadine is anything but willing to have Amos court her.

Such an engaging book, and not a dull moment to be found. This whole series has been so good and I have enjoyed each addition. I love how Jenna and Buddy are back and we get to see how things continue for them as well. You can read the book on it's own, but they are all so good that you should read them all learning to love the characters portrayed by the author.

Loved it and recommend it!

I received an ebook copy from NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.

What a sweet romantic story! Poor Amos sees Nadine from afar and falls instantly in love with her. She has been married twice before and has decided she will never marry again. They decide to become friends, and that does well for a while, but Amos really wants more. It takes a while and a small disaster before she realizes she loves him too. Sweet, clean story I definitely enjoyed!

A beautiful, heartwarming story filled with special moments, trust, faith and finding love. Age doesn't matter when love is a possibility. I am very thankful to read a story about people in their 60's. I found myself smiling at the conclusion of the story. I received a complimentary copy of the book. No review was required.

Romancing Nadine was a true delight of a story! Amy Lillard weaves this unusual look at the older generation of Amish, the widows and widowers, and how they feel about finding love in their later years. This is an aspect not often seen in Amish genre novels. Another part of this novel that I enjoyed was getting re-acquainted with Nadine's granddaughter Jenna, and daughter in law Charlotte, who both are prominently featured as well. Charlotte continues to struggle with the idea of her daughter Jenna's engagement to Buddy, given that both Jenna and Buddy have developmental delays. Charlotte also provides encouragement for Nadine to agree to spend time with Amos as Nadine is greatly reluctant. The multigenerational aspects of the story are one of my favorite parts! I highly recommend Romancing Nadine!
