Romancing Nadine by Amy Lillard lets us see that it is never too late to find love. Nadine Burkhart has been married twice and has no intention of marrying again. Amos Fisher has just returned to Wells Landing, Oklahoma. He sets eyes on Nadine, and it is love at first sight. He feels that God has led him to Nadine. Unfortunately, Nadine is less than receptive to Amos’ overtures. Amos needs to find a way to get past Nadine’s defenses and let her see the joy of being in love. Romancing Nadine is the 10th novel in the Wells Landing series. It can be read as a standalone, but I find it beneficial to have read all the books in the series. I enjoyed reading this sweet, amusing Amish tale. I like returning to Wells Landing to catch up the characters I have come to know and love. Jenna and Buddy are doing well, but Charlotte and Nadine are still worried about her. Nadine is unhappy about turning 65. She does not want a party, gifts, or any sort of acknowledgement. Of course, Nadine should know that her family would not allow the day to go buy without a gathering. We see that Amos’ attentions make Nadine grumpy and prickly. There is a reason for her attitude, but it will take time for Amos to get the information out of Nadine. I thought Romancing Nadine was well-written with steady pacing. The characters are realistic and developed. I liked that the main characters were older (in their 60s). There was good chemistry between Nadine and Amos. I admit to laughing at some of their exchanges. I enjoyed watching their romance progress and the elephant was a great touch. I thought it was fascinating that the older Amish have their own outings and meetings (like the young have youth gatherings). Romancing Nadine is a refreshing and heartwarming Amish story with new beginnings, love, trust, letting go, and faith.

his heartwarming story shows readers that it's never too late to find love. Set in the Amish community of Wells Landing, Oklahoma, the story follows Amos Fisher, a sixty-two-year-old bachelor who has never married and Nadine Burkhart, a mother, grandmother and widow, who is very happy with her life. When Amos sees Nadine for the first time, he instantly falls for her and feels that God wants them to be together. Nadine, a twice-widowed sixty-five-year-old thinks Amos is out of his mind, and that she's too old for romance. Will Amos succeed in winning her heart?

I really enjoyed this story. First being a widow in my sixties, I enjoyed reading about someone my age falling love again. I have really been enjoying stories with older characters that are not just the sidekick or parent. The chemistry between Amos and Nadine was wonderful, and some of their interactions had me laughing out loud. Their bickering and banter were entertaining. I enjoyed watching their romance progress, even though Nadine tried to resist. This was a well-written and engaging story, with well-developed characters, and realistic family relationships. Nadine's daughter-in-law Charlotte lives with her while Charlotte's daughter is living with another family, helping out with the family's twin daughters. Charlotte is having her own issues with her daughter leaving the nest, especially with the prospect of her future marriage. The senior church members that meet each Monday are a hoot. They are all for the Amos and Nadine relationship and I laughed out loud at many of their antics and discussions. I have read several stories in the Wells Landing series, but you can read them all as standalone stories. There are recurring characters, so it is great to meet up with them again. If you enjoy Amish Fiction and/or Christian romance, pick this one up for an enjoyable read.

Amy Lillard never disappoints! I loved that this book focused on an older widowed woman who caught the eye of Amos an older gentleman. Nadine's heart seems closed to romance, but enter her daughter and granddaughter to open her eyes to new possibilities even love! A great story!

I loved Nadine and Amos’s story. Both in their sixties, Nadine been married before but Amos has not. She is just not sure about doing marriage again at her age.

Romancing Nadine was funny at times. I loved the scenes with the dog. I also enjoyed the painting class. It was such an amazing story, goes to prove we can find love at any age.

I also enjoyed reading more about Jenna and the camel farm. The granddaughter of Nadine.

The Wells Landing Series keeps getting better and better.

I received an advanced copy of the book from the author. This book review is my own opinion.

Reading any book by Amy Lillard is a delight, but this one has extra sparkle and charm. I’ve especially enjoyed her “Wells Landing” series, and it was fun returning there again in this book.

This story is a little different than most Amish romance novels because the love story is between the two main characters who are in their sixties. Nadine has been widowed twice, and thinks that life and love has passed her by. Amos has never been married, or even been in love, but tumbles head-over-heals in love with Nadine the first time he sees her. Amos has no idea how to “court” at his age. To make things even more difficult, Nadine’s very reluctant to enter into another relationship, even if she is attracted to Amos. There’s humor and romance in Amos’s sometimes-not-so-successful attempts to win Nadine’s heart. I got just a little bit annoyed with Nadine at times, but I absolutely loved Amos. I finished this book with a smile and a happy sigh. I’m already looking forward to returning to Wells Landing in the next book. If you are looking for a sweet romance with a touch of humor, read this one. You’ll be cheering for Amos and Nadine, too.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

This is book nine in the Wells Landing series. This is about Nadine and Amos. Amos thinks at his age that he can't find love again. That is until he sees Nadine. Nadine has been married twice now she has a wall up. You won't be able to break that wall very easily. Nadine doesn't want to get he heart broke again. Will Amos be able to break that wall Nadine has up?

Sixty-five year old Nadine Burkhart was at Amish crossroads. Looking at her life on her 65th birthday, she has endured the death of an husband, a son, a granddaughter's accident that left her mentally disabled. Nadine was contemplating what she had to offer in life. Celebrating her birthday with friends and family, she noticed a stranger staring at her. The stranger was Amos Fischer coming back to the community. He had never found the right woman to spend the rest of his life with but seeing Nadine, he knew she was who God intended for him.

Their relationship is endearing has he is a man that is determined to win the heart of Nadine. He seeks the counsel of his English friends and using the English ways to woo Nadine, she becomes more perplexed and curious on who is this man. She just cannot get past that she may find love again. With the help of her granddaughter that has found love, she too begins to soften towards Amos. Proofing that God is never finished with us.

A special thank you to Kensington Books and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

Nadine Burkhart is a loving widow, twice actually, and now grandmother. She had love and she has her loving family to fill her days. However, her continual run ins with Amos Fisher slowly changes her life. Both Nadine and Amos are in their sixties, and Amos has never married. However, there is something special between them and Amos learns what it takes to begin courting Nadine.

As far as Amos is concerned, it is love at first sight. Not so much for Nadine, but there is something special about Amos that she cannot deny. Nadine just might be one of my favorite woman in these touching Amish fiction stories. As a woman nearing sixty myself, I definitely believe in love. Amos was a peach. He likely had a chance in his younger years to find love, but it simply did not happen. I loved his doggedness when it came to learning how to romance Nadine and what brought them together.

This lovely story had a wonderful conclusion. Although this is the tenth book in the Wells Landing series, I had no trouble at all connecting to the couple, as well as to the many friends that came in and out of the story.

Many thanks to Zebra Books and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

This was such a heart warming story. I really enjoyed reading about an older lady, who wasn't looking for love, and thought she would never find love.. The only thing that I didn't understand was why were they driving tractors? The amish only drive them in the fields, not all over town. But it made it more interesting. Good book and I would recommend it.

Romancing Nadine by Amy Lillard is a fun story about finding love even when you are trying to keep it at bay. Nadine is a sixty five year old woman who has loved and lost two husbands. She isn't looking for a third. Amos Fisher, however, is convinced that God has placed them together for a reason. As she fights her feelings and he tries everything from flowers to candy to get her attention, the two will find that love is even more than they imagined. I can't tell you how many times I laughed out loud during this story. I started it today and finished it today. It was a lot of fun, but it also reminded me that God's plan for us is not our own. We must remember to look to Him for the answers and the truth. Definitely a good read! You should check it out! I freely offer my opinion for this story. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me the chance to read it.

It doesn't matter what age, lifestyle or even that Amy Lillard writes about it is fantastic. In this story she shows that it is never to late for love and even if you are stubborn and tell God that you have had your love if he deems it to be it will happen. Had anyone else come into Nadines life she would have been able to drive them away but when the man of her dreams (although she refused to believe it) appears and he feels the same way about her then it will just take time. Read this book in one day and truly loved the whole story. Maybe because I am in my 60's and although I am married to the man of my dreams I have always said I would never marry again. Now I am wondering and decided that instead of tell GOD what I am going to do I better just sit back and wait to see. Only he knows what is written on our page for our life. Thank you Amy for another great story.

I absolutely adored this story because it is written by one of my favorite authors. She never disappoints me with her gift for satisfying my need for stories that have faith, unconditional love and inspiring characters. I cheered when I realized this would be about an older woman. Yes I can relate to the character’s age and I felt a calmness come over me as I became acquainted with Nadine.

Nadine has had her share of heartaches in the love department. Can she find a way to allow God to show her that there was someone out there for her? I could tell right away Nadine was going to be hard to crack in the love department. Poor Amos. He has his hands full trying to win Nadine’s heart. As you get older you get set in your ways and Nadine was definitely a stickler for having things her way.

Amos is so kind and patient. Love can do that to a person. You don’t see any faults only the love that you have for that special someone. I wanted to go to Nadine at times and tell her that she was being stubborn and needed to loosen up a bit. The author gives us a few laughs in the story as Nadine and Amos get to know each other. I thought of the awkward moments I had getting to know my husband. The story is a wonderful look at romance through the eyes of the older generation. It is filled with laughs, love and a wonderful ending.

I received a digital copy through the author and Netgalley. The review is my own opinion.

Another Wells Landing book? Yes please, I'll take it.
Romancing Nadine is the ninth book in the series and I

really hope it continues.

I love the consistency of reading the Wells Landing books and being familiar with the characters and it's so much fun to get acquainted with the new characters as well.

Should a sixty something Amish widow, mother and grandmother be a sensible woman and leave love to the younger generation?
Farmer Amos Fisher definitely doesn't think so as he makes himself

available to help her out .

Realizing there is more to life than just working the farm he "conveniently" seems to just time it right and show up wherever Nadine may be.
He longs to break through her shell and draw her out, getting to

know her better.

She thinks it's quite the ridiculous notion at her age to

have a romantic relationship but can

Amos convince her otherwise?

Fun and entertaining I loved the

interactions between the characters.

Worth a second read!

She's stubborn. He's in love. Can it all work out?

I have to admit that I'm quite surprised. Not by the fact that I like the story. Not by Amy Lillard's wonderful writing. Nope. Not at all. Romancing Nadine is the second story about the Burkhart women and features a grandmother in her mid-sixties. No, what surprised me was that despite the fact that she's literally twice my age I connected with Nadine even more than I did her granddaughter, who is much closer to my age, in the previous book. And as a never-married myself I also had some real sympathy with Amos.

Over the years I've read quite a few of Amy Lillard's Amish romances, this is the 10th Wells Landing book for one thing, so I've come to expect a lot from her. And she has never disappointed me. Romancing Nadine certainly didn't. She has a real knack for taking issues that we all face, Amish and Englisher alike, and weaving them into a sweet and entertaining story.

I enjoyed Romancing Nadine, as I've enjoyed all of the Wells Landing Romances, and was actually a little surprised at how quickly I finished despite using an e-reader instead of my preferred paperbacks. Ah, well, Amy Lillard's books are great no matter the format. Anyway, don't miss this fun and poignant read!

It was so nice to have a romance between two older people. This proves that even at an older age people can find love. I love how Nadine is reluctant at first but then Amos comes in to her life and shows her that you can find love at any age. I love the characters and did not want to put this book down. I hope there are many more books in this series. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Romancing Nadine is a sweet addition to the Wells Landing series. It can be enjoyed as a stand alone novel or as a continuing part of the series.

I liked seeing this relationship between Nadine and Amos slowly blossom. Even as Nadine worked hard to keep her heart distanced from Amos, he was determined to win it. Nadine had one excuse after another for why they shouldn’t fall in love at their ages. I loved Amos’ perseverance, and really felt for him whenever he began to wonder if Nadine would ever allow love to grow between them. These two characters were really likable and this was a fun love story to read.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

ROMANCING NADINE is a wonderful continuation of the WELLS LANDING series and it was filled with family, friends, love and romance along with many characters we've met before. Jenna and Buddy are involved in this story too but it's all Nadine and Amos who are are both in their sixties. He's never married and is looking for love and God has brought him to Nadine. Nadine has been married and widowed twice and feels she's too old to love again. Even though there's an attraction between them she fights even their friendship tooth and nail. Set in Oklahoma it's a wonderful tale of Amish life although their Bishop doesn't seem to be as strict as some.

Amos is a romantic and goes to his Englischer friends that he used to work with to get suggestions on how to woo Nadine and get her to change her mind about them. All it seems to do is make her dig her heels in more firmly, or does it since Nadine can't make up her mind? It was interesting to watch their interactions and disheartening to see the fight and roadblocks Nadine kept putting up even though she was always looking for him and missed him when he wasn't there. Amos let his feelings show but how often can one man be shot down? Nadine's daughter in law's new puppy, Goldie, is quite rambunctious and gets into a lot of trouble. Is a pet the answer for Amos as well?

There are multiple stories going on and they are seamlessly woven together. The camels were back as were church Sundays, the local restaurant and bakery, and different events that the seniors participated in. There are some loose ends even with the epilogue that gives us the happily ever after. This is the ninth book in the series and I hope there will be more. It has a nice cover and it was interesting to read a story with older main characters who are my age.

Ms. Lillard is one of my go to authors. I love her Amish romances and have enjoyed her Amish mystery series too. I look forward to reading what she pens next.

Romancing Nadine by Amy Lillard is part of the Wells Landing Series. This is the first one I have read. I plan on reading the previous books..
Nadine is a widow and not looking for love. She is content to continue living with her daughter in law making a fresh start in Oklahoma. Amos has returned to his home after an extended trip visiting his family and spots Nadine at church services and is immediately smitten. Thus starts an uphill battle for him. She doesn't want to be romanced or does she...….
This is an easy to read, well written Amish romance with wonderful characters and family love.
I was given an ARC by NetGalley and the publisher for an honest review.
