Took me a while to get through but I still enjoyed this. I've watched the LadyGang TV show and listened to the podcast and can relate individually to each member, so I was excited about the book. I really liked the personal stories they told. Sometimes they got repetitive and some stories still felt like they were leaving out some weird small detail for no reason but it was okay. I did skim a lot of the 'advice' sections between the stories. Sometimes there was good information but a lot of it seems vague and cliche.

As mentioned above, I don't listen to The Ladygang podcast but the book still interested me. I liked the title, loved the cover, and wanted to hear what the three women who call themselves "The Ladygang" had to say.

The ladies take turns speaking their truths, telling their stories, and being extremely raw and real. They touch on everything from jobs to relationships to death and mental illness. They don't hold anything back and are brutally honest with their words.

It was refreshing to hear real advice from women who have been through a lot. Even though they are 'celebrities' they still felt relatable and honest. I felt like I was sitting around with my girlfriends, shooting the shit.

I think if you need an easy but informative self-help book that won't make you feel bad about where you are in life, listen to the Ladygang!

Act Like a Lady is an excellent advice book/memoir for fans of the Ladygang podcast. It also is excellent for anyone being first introduced to these ladies for the first time. It's an all-around excellent book for women in general. Keltie Knight, Becca Tobin, and Jac Vanek represent three different kinds of ladies that have formed a friendship through forming a podcast for women by women. The book had me cracking up out loud, but also tearing up at times. Excellent job, ladies! Highly recommended!!

Act Like a Lady is an excellent summer read!! I laughed, winced a couple of times and wanted to hug everyone at the end!!

Keltie, Becca, Jac and the LADYGANG, you ALL rock!! Thanks for making it real!

ARC review. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Highly recommend!

This is a fun, easy read that definitely appeals to listeners of this popular podcast. I used to be a regular listener and was excited for this book to be released but it took me some time to get into reading it. I think I really would have preferred the audiobook version of this one as they clearly write how they speak and listening to each of them tell their stories (like the podcast) is much more appealing to me. The hardcover copy of the book is very pretty to look at and a fun one to have on the shelf or maybe in your bathroom or guest room.

I didn’t love this book but I didn’t hate it. I’m happy to see what these ladies do next, but I don’t think publishing books is their thing.

"This is "technically" an advice book, but we are well aware that we give pretty questionable advice. We hope that by being honest about our struggles, insecurities, breakups, divorces, leaked nude photos, and plastic surgery we can rip the veil off the bullshit that the world is currently selling you. Our mission is to help you feel more normal."

I was not familiar with the LadyGang before reading this book, I just wanted to read it because the title sounded like it would be fun. The stories in the book were funny, and they did make me feel more normal. So I guess the authors succeeded in their mission!

Thank you to Rodale and NetGalley for providing me with an advance copy of this book.

The Ladygang is one of my favorite podcasts, so I was ecstatic to receive an early copy of their book to review! Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! I personally enjoyed the essays written by Keltie, Becca, and Jac more than the “advice” sections of the book, but that is simply because I enjoy their podcast and was excited to learn more about their lives and backgrounds. It’s overall a fun read, but there are also some surprisingly vulnerable and touching stories included.

I have to applaud these women because they did a great job making this book accessible to everyone - meaning you don’t have to have ever heard of The Ladygang podcast or any of these women in order to pick up the book and enjoy what you’re reading. I think this would be a great book to binge read on the beach this summer, and it’s also going to be a great book to give as a gift to a young woman in your life (hello, graduation!). Just as long as the recipient is okay with a little bit of TMI… because that’s what you get from The Ladygang.

I found my love of podcasts with Becca Tobin, Jac Vanek & Keltie Knight’s, @theladygang. Can we get the TV show back please?! Thankfully we have this book for more stories from the gals!
.
Big thanks to @harmonyrodale and @netgalley for the #ARC!

Whether you know the Lady Gang women or not I think you’ll enjoy their tales! They are real, honest and open with their life experiences - full of ups and downs! Inside you’ll find: Glee, Heartbreak, Rockettes, Cruise Ship Entertainment, Warped Tour, Sloppy Seconds and more!
.
So, are you a Keltie, Becca or Jac? I’m a Bectie 😉

I had heard of the LadyGang Podcast, but I had never listened to it before reading this book. Act Like a Lady is relatable and I found myself relating to the ladies and having had similar experiences to them as well. It is a fun summer read that will have you laughing and cringing on a hot day by the pool.

I found this book to be base, vulgar, and vile. I'm not usually opposed to profanity or earthy humor, but this felt excessive and almost demeaning to women

Thank you to NetGalley, Random House, and the authors for the ARC of Act Like a Lady in return for my honest review.

I was unfamiliar with the Lady Gang podcast prior to starting this book. After reading a few chapters I began listening to the podcast and love it! I am happy I have many episodes to binge! The book is a readable episode of the podcast--you can hear each of the women's voices as you read!

The essays may be full of "questionable advice" as they proclaim at the beginning of the book--but they will have you laughing and crying as well as leaving you pondering some of the topics as they relate to your own life.

This book is the perfect light escape right now!

When you say in your own subtitle that you’re offering questionable advice... it’s hard to take you seriously. This book was suuuuper cotton candy fluffiness with a lot of made up vocabulary (like they were trying to be a white lady Urban Dictionary???) and stories about their sex lives and dating fails. I wasn’t a fan but if you’re into unfiltered women and the whole #ladygang #girlboss movement, you might enjoy it.

There were a few good lessons to be learned here, but really it felt like a good way to tell sordid tales from the LA dating scene. My real issue was with the overabundance of silly made up words like "hoement" and "porkfolio". Once in a while that's funny, but there were SO MANY. Stop trying to make fetch happen, it's not going to happen.

Better late than never! Happy belated Pub Day to #ActLikeALady by #KeltieKnight #BeccaTobin & #JacVanek Prior to reading this book I hadn’t heard of @theladygang and I am not sure how I hadn’t… these ladies are H I L A R I O U S! I cannot wait to listen to their podcast and watch their show! This reads like a conversation with your best friends on topics that are typically thought of as taboo. Their voices are brought out in the commentary included in the writing. I loved how honest and raw these three ladies were. I don’t think I have ever highlighted a book as much. Many self-help books are dull and long winded. However, the short-segmented sections and stories, allowed me to devour this book. Thank you to @netgalley and @harmonyrodale for this advanced reader copy!

Welcome to the snarkiest “self-help” book you’ll ever read. If you haven’t met @theladygang (and why haven’t you?) you’re in for a real treat. Let me introduce you:

Keltie “𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘺𝘱𝘦-𝘈 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘢𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘢 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘰𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘵 𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘋𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘋𝘐𝘠 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘱 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮”

Act Like a Lady is a book filled with essays, illustrations, and sometimes slightly TMI facts about life. If you’re a fan of the Ladygang podcast, you’ll already recognize some of these stories about love, friendship, and careers but they spill plenty of new tea too! And if you’re a longtime listener like me, you’ll probably hear the ladies themselves reading these hilarious essays in your head. Even if you’re not apart of the gang, it’s never too late to join!

I thought this was a fantastic read for women in particular. This group of women own their own Podcast called The Ladygang. I admit I had not heard of this until I read this book. But I will definitely be checking it out. This book let's you get to know each member on a much more personal note....well, not to dismiss the podcast. What I read, it sounds like that also gets rather personal sometimes! Either way, you're getting personal no matter which way you go.

They share so many stories in this book, funny ones, embarrassing ones and some humbling ones. There is so much vulnerability in this story. I appreciate them sharing that with me. It was very relatable in many ways. At least one of those stories you can relate to in your own life. It was overall, an entertaining, nice and quick easy read. It's also somewhat inspiring knowing their story and how they unexpectedly shot up to fame with this podcast. Color me impressed! Kudos to these ladies!

Thank you to Rodale Inc. via NetGalley for this digital copy review!

Thanks to NetGalley and the LadyGang for this ARC.

I’ve never listened to the LadyGang podcast or followed any of the members closely but I still enjoyed this book. The 3 women share funny and sad tales about their lives. The funny parts were really entertaining and definitely gave me a good laugh. I really admired the women for their vulnerability. Overall a great read.

This was a fun read. Easy to pick up in the evening and read a few stories. I admit I don’t follow the women of the Lady Gang closely or listen to the podcast. It was still interesting to learn about each woman and their perspectives/advice on careers, friendship, and dating.

This was a great book! It is a really fun read that flips the idea of what is ladylike upside down. This is a really important topic, and I love feminist books like this. It is past time re-evaluate what is important and true, and this book does a fantastic job of building a discussion around important topics (like our relationships in love, the workplace, and with ourselves). This book encourages women to be themselves more and put less pressure on themselves to be the traditional idea of “ladylike”. Being a lady today is about more than having perfect manners and perfect hair--ladies of today are hardworking, educated, stylish and bold, and this book is all about celebrating the 21st century lady. P.S. I am totally a Jac, lol!
