Great book if you love dancing - for someone who isn't really into dancing/dancing shows, this was okay. I did enjoy it - great characters and a well written story, just not for me.

A great story for strictly lovers! A good narrative even if you don’t like strictly, I liked the dynamic between the main characters and with their children... and the errant brother!!! Kept me amused - read in a day or so!

I was so excited to win Strictly Come Dating in the Love in Lockdown Giveaway by Harper Collins! The story follows Maggie as she finds herself and learns to love again. Maggie’s guilty pleasure is watching the show Strictly Come Dancing, which she watches with her best friends and the kids every week. When her friend’s younger brother watches with them one Saturday night, everything changes. They are instantly attracted to each other, but will their ten-year age difference and different lifestyles prevent them from being together?

Maggie, with encouragement from her friends, joins dance classes again. And when Seb becomes her partner, Maggie learns more than just dancing. She realized that Seb is more than the goofy, good-looking younger brother of her friend. He is fun and caring and generous and not what Maggie expected.

I love Maggie! A responsible, loving, and dedicated single mother and doctor who has been burned by love, Maggie likes to be in control. She is super organized and a bit insecure after the constant berating of her ex-husband. She is such a relatable and realistic woman who reminded me of one of my friends. Seb is very different from Maggie. A fun-loving and care-free man, Seb lives in the moment and is more impulsive. Much like Maggie, he is also very family-oriented, awesome with kids, and has a big heart.

The slow-building romance between Maggie and Seb is so sweet! They didn’t rush into a relationship, which I liked, especially considering there are kids involved, and they really got to know each other before jumping into anything. I also like that they don’t try to change each other. Maggie’s ex-husband squelched her identity and mocked her interests. I like how supportive and accepting Seb is. He gives her that confidence that her ex took from her, especially when he becomes her dance partner!

This is a sweet story with a slow-building and charming romance. I love the themes of friendship, family, and embracing life. Thanks so much to Harper Collins, NetGalley, and the author for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

Strictly Come Dating by Kathryn Freeman is an entertaining romantic comedy. Two adults are getting their second chance at a forever kind of love. This story was sad, funny, and charming. The protagonists were realistic. A woman is facing the raising of her kids mostly alone. Her and her husband have gone their own ways. She was doing just fine until her friend's brother comes back into town. He is still suffering an emotional baggage of his own. He was always a disappointment to his own father. He feels that he needs to prove himself to others and mainly to himself. He spends time with Maggie and her kids. The more time they spend together the more comfortable they are.

Each character pushes the other to find his/her own potential. Neither one diminishes the other. The support they gave and took from each other was equal in giving. Maggie has a lot to risk and not just her heart. Her children becoming attached to the new man in her life and what the future may or may not hold for them all. Being hurt by her husband has made her cautious. I loved these characters. Overall, this was truly a heartfelt and engaging read.

Loved this book! I loved the chemistry between Maggie and Seb. Adored Tabby and Penny. Seb may be my new book boyfriend. And reading a book where they visit the town you grew up...just perfect! Slightly homesick now. Lol!!! Love Kathryn Freemans books!

[Thanks Netgalley for the ebook. This review is my honest opinion but just another opinion, you should read this book and judge it by yourself]
I've loved this book!
It's an easy reading full of good moments and with a Hero so lovely that goes straight to my favourites. It's well written and I couldn't put it down, I was hooked! It the perfect reading for times like this, when you need something full of charm, love, and laughter. I specially loved that Maggie was older than Sebastian ❤.

A sweet slow-burn romance, filled with heart and laughter, and the perfect way to forget about real life for a while.

Every Saturday, recently divorced Maggie and her two best friends - twin sisters Sarah and Alice - get together to watch Strictly Come Dancing. Maggie has always had a passion for dance, but her ex-husband never wanted to take any dance classes with her, so she has resigned herself to live vicariously through the celebrities trying to learn a whole new routine every week. But then one Saturday, Sarah and Alice's younger brother Seb shows up with them to watch Strictly. Maggie is determined to resist his charms, no matter what those butterflies in her stomach want her to do. It was all going to plan, until Sarah and Alice convince Maggie to take dancing lessons and Seb shows up unexpectedly to save her from having to dance with a mop. How is she supposed to resist funny, kind and caring Seb now that he sweeps her across a dancefloor every week?

This was hands-down my favourite Kathryn Freeman novel so far. Maggie is such an authentic character, so recognisable from real life. The chemistry between Maggie and Seb is tangible from the start, and it was the most delightful torture to have to wait for the two of them to finally take that leap of faith together and for Maggie to finally rediscover how to have some fun after too many years of only being the responsible parent. The interactions between Maggie's kids and Seb were some of my favourite scenes in the whole novel, turning me into a gooey pile of happiness.

What a fun read!! Maggie was so damn likable, I almost wanted to start this book over when I finished it! I've never seen the movie How Stella Got Her Groove Back but based on the title that is all I can think about this book--How Maggie Got Her Groove back! I also now want to know what Strictly Come Dancing is...it sounds so fun!

I received an advance copy. All thoughts are my own.

This is the third book I have read this year by Freeman. She is a writing machine!

I enjoyed this one. Maggie isnt looking for love but finds it, in someone 10 years her junior.

It was hilarious at times. As an American I loved reading the British terms. At times, I had to stretch my mind to understand and that's always a good time.

I didnt so much enjoy the pace. It's possible it was me, but it seemed so slow.

Overall, it was a great book on how no matter your circumstances love can find you.

Thank you HarperCollinsUk and Netgalley for this advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.

Great British rom com about a woman looking for love at a later age. She is 40 and divorced, with two kids when she decides to go dancing to get some excitement back to her life. I liked the main characters and the plot was engaging. I am very happy I was able to read this book

This book is purely a must read for every strictly fan, scratch that even if you don't watch strictly you should still read this book. It is the third installment within the Rom Com collection, though you do not need to read the others to read this, but I highly recommend reading all three.
The story is told over 36 Chapters (+Epilogue) and focuses on mum of two Maggie and 'surfer guy' Seb. The story switches point of view between Seb and Maggie so the reader really experiences the full circle of emotions and events. The books is also full of strictly references which the Strictly Fans will love reading.
This story is engaging and the reader will easily find themselves getting addicted to this story. There are so many things in the story that will make the reader continue reading. Whether it's find out how Maggie and Seb's story ends or because you love the dancing aspect of this book. The ending of this particular story is simply perfect and everything the reader wishes for as they read this story.
Overall this story is choc full of dancing, funny moments and great characters. All the things that will have the reader completely absorbing this entire story. This book is perfect whether you are a first time Kathryn Freeman reader or a long time fan. By the end of this book Kathryn will have the reader yearning to get up and find their local dance class.

A lovely romance for fans of Strictly.

I found this a bit slow to start with, but once Seb starts learning to dance with Maggie then I couldn't get enough of it.

I loved their chemistry, even if Seb is the annoying younger brother for Maggie's best friends, and Maggie is scared for her children to get to know anyone who could turn out to be rather special.

But Seb is fabulous with kids, and I loved the scenes involving Tabs, Penelope and Seb. Seb is at times like a big kid at heart himself, and others just an all round sexy nice guy!

You wouldn't' think Maggie and Seb would worth together past the chemistry but they really do, and I enjoyed seeing how their fledgling relationship develops.

Another very enjoyable romance from Kathryn Freeman, complete with sequins and glitter ball!

Thank you to One More Chapter and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Thank you so much for the copy of Strictly Come Dating, I was so excited to be chosen to read it! This is a sweet, nice romance, which I enjoyed. It was long in the misunderstood conversations, doubting that they deserve each other, etc. It was a slog to get through, which ruined the momentum of the romance for me.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC for an honest opinion.

I loved this book. First of all, I love Kathryn Freeman as an author - I adored Up Close and Personal, so I know I was going to love this just as much.

Maggie is a strong, independent and very successful working mum to Tabby and Penny. After her husband left herder a 'younger model' she had no choice but to be the strong and organised one for the sake of her girls. But Maggie sometimes feels she is old before her time, and desperately misses her one great passion of dancing. The only dance floor she sees now is on a Saturday night when she settles down with her 2 best friends (who are also sisters) for a night of glitz and glam with Strictly Come Dancing.

Step in the young, fun and carefree Seb, brother of her two best friends. Without much notice from Maggie, the chemistry between the two of them is amazing and as the reader, you can really see this chemistry sizzling between them. He encourages Maggie to return to her passion of dancing, and even accompanies her to dance classes every week, so as she will have someone to practise with.

The more they spent time together, the more the chemistry between them becomes obvious, and the inevitable kiss between them happens and is electric! The story then focuses on the development of their very casual relationship and with a very happy but surprising conclusion.

I completely loved this story and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for fun, passion, chemistry, romance and some glitzing and glam of the dance floor.

A great slow burn romance about rediscovering your self-worth after a divorce. Maggie not only discovers a real passion for dance but also an attraction for the flighty Seb, 10 years her junior. It was great to have a heroine who had emotional baggage and a hero who acknowledged the needs of her children as well as Maggie's. If you love Strictly you'll love this.
