Annabelle Milton is stunned to hear some tragic news about her family. Annabelle, travels to the Bellingham Estate to live with cousins who oversee the Bellingham estate., she is accepted as a friend to the youngest son, Lady Bellingham, grows close to Annabelle and takes her under her wing. With three sons, Lady Bellingham appreciates a young lady's opinion. Lord Peter Bellingham was one of my favorite characters. Such a fun read.

While I thought the story had potential as a sweet comfort read, the first-person narration felt a bit off.
The heroine regularly describes her own musical talents with glowing acclaim, which left this reader somewhat dumbfounded. She seems to be perfect, and she knows it. The character felt like something that a young writer might imagine, but lacked nuance.

I really enjoyed this book- once I started reading I couldn’t stop. I loved that Anabelle spoke her mind- most books have the women thinking things, but never do they speak them out loud- It was refreshing. I loved the whole Alexander family. They were so kind and loving to each other and to everyone they had dealings with. I thought the relationship and outcome with the maid Lucy may not have been entirely realistic, but honestly I could care less. I wanted to read a clean romance with a happy ever after and I totally got it with this book! I hope this author will be writing more books soon!

This was a sweet, regency story. I enjoyed watching the heroine learn more about herself, learn what real family looked like, and to watch her grow. The relationship that was built was not a one week romance, but bloomed over months, which was nice for a change. It was a lesson in realizing that we can't go back and fix what was wrong, but we need to forge ahead, remember the good, and look for the better.

A clean, regency debut romance novel.  I liked the characters in this story, excepting those we were not supposed to like of course.  Peter was long holding on to his grief while Anabelle was dealing with fresh grief and they were able to work through the grief with the help of their love for each other. There were strong emotions in the supporting characters as well.  Robert was wonderfully fun, sweet, made a perfect best friend and was head over heels in love,  Nathan was full of anger which spewed forth as hatred.  Peter and Anabelle's romance was a bit of a slow burn since neither were willing to express their feelings for the length of the book.   Peter's parents were surprisingly open to unconventional situations and romances.  So many regency stories would have given Robert and Lucy a very difficult time and would more than likely have spent a while turned against Anabelle in misunderstanding. But not in this book. And we got multiple romances in the story.  I liked that even Mr. Timmons ends up with hope for a love match. And I loved that everyone treated Anabelle's little cousin so nicely.
I did end up with some unanswered questions though none of them are too important in the main story line. How did the sister feel about Peter's engagement since she had been pushing her friend as a match? And I'm even more curious as to what was Nathan's punishment? Surely he can't stay in his role in the church.  He would be horrible to his congregation!  So what happens to him?  We just know that it would be a just consequence but we are left to guess what it is. Gah!
Sex: some kisses, leering, assault
Language: no
Violence:  Brief sexual assault and a well deserved knock out punch

I don't know what it is about the royals and the dukes and the lords and the titles, but I've really been into them, not just through reading but also Netflix shows (DID ANYONE WATCH REIGN?! I'M STILL NOT OKAY) LOL. I wish the storyline wasn't so fast paced and more of a slow-burn, I could have easily seen myself have heart eyes!!! I finished it at like 4 in the morning and I literally GASPED "WTF" at the ending bc it was just too fast way too soon, but I got my HEA and slept with a smile on my face, so I guess it was all okay lol -JH

This was a sweet story and I liked Peter Alexander quite a bit--and I think I would have liked the book more if it had alternated his viewpoint with Anabelle's, but it didn't. I didn't really connect with Anabelle as the main character, so this book didn't quite win me over. I'm sure other readers will love this clean Regency romance, however. 2.5 stars.
I read an ARC provided by the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

This is the story of Anabelle Milton who is away from home visiting a friend when she hears of her parents unexpected deaths. She is whisked away to Bellingham Cottage to live with an aunt and uncle she has rarely seen. Her uncle is manager of the Bellingham Estate which houses an unconventional titled family with four sons.

This is a cute novel. I thought it well written. It’s a predictable story line that flows quickly and has a modern feel. I had to laugh when our heroine asks, “Who has outed me?” in regard to someone being told of her musical talent. That struck me as very modern phrasing. The characters are fun. It’s a little saccharine in places, and the conflict is easily resolved, though satisfying in a simplistic way. This is a novel I could very easily recommend to anyone wanting a fun, sweet romance.

I almost gave this book four stars and I really wanted to. The truth is, I thoroughly enjoyed this book, its characters, and its swoon-worthy romance. However, I have two reasons as to why I did not rate it higher.

1. The plot moved way too quickly, in my opinion. At the beginning of the book, Annabelle is deeply mourning the sudden loss of her parents and it felt that rather too quickly, she was whisked away to Bellingham and the mood changed drastically. Don't get me wrong, I wanted happiness for Annabelle and I love that she found a community she could call "home", but I just felt that it all happened too fast. Getting settled into a new home and meeting new people takes time. I feel that this was a little rushed. It felt odd that she made such deep connections with people so quickly. At the same time, there was a part of me that enjoyed the lightheartedness of this story.

2. The people of Bellingham seemed a little too perfect. The Alexander's, our love interest's family, are like the dream in-laws every woman fantasizes about (Except Nathan Alexander, I want to throat punch him). The mother, Lady Bellingham, immediately falls in love with Annabelle without hardly even knowing her. The brothers also took a liking to her very quickly. While I liked this, it seemed rather unrealistic. The family was so optimistic and friendly at times, that I was wondering when the catch would come where we find out they're hiding a dark secret or something. No catch, this family is just extremely amiable.

I didn't have any issues with the love interest, Peter. I thought he was a great character, with a good (kind of tragic) backstory. The romance between him and Annabelle was very romantic to me and I actually liked that Peter's past didn't affect their relationship too much. I really liked that this story was clean and the romance was authentic. Overall, I enjoyed this book.

Finally! An engaging AND clean regency novel from publisher Covenant! So appreciative of this author who wrote lively, fun, and interesting characters. I can’t go beyond 3 stars because there was a hole or two (Mr. Timmons namely) and the weird part about having an outspoken character who didn’t tell anyone about being harassed! Okay, she did tell the flighty brother about being harassed but he didn’t take it seriously or attempt to protect her so that rankled me. Otherwise, a good debut and I look forward to more from this author.

I was provided with an ARC of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A beautifully set story with a narration that leads you easily into the plot. Reading this... it was so easy to imagine Bellingham!

It's a cute romance, full of shy looks and tentative smiles. Peter is charming within his reserved personality and Anabelle has fire in her blood. And little by little they make a captivating couple, I liked how their romance developed and the small dramas they faced.

The secondary characters are very interesting and become an essential part of the plot. I really liked the book, I enjoyed it and it left me with a smile.

It's 3:36 am and I just finished this awesome novel!
This book was fast paced from the beginning until the end. The author did a wonderful job in keeping the story flowing along very smoothly. I never got confused about who was telling the story.
I really liked how Anabelle told her own story and I was able to connect with her so much better.
I loved getting to know Anabelle, Robert, Lucy, Lord and Lady Bellingham.
But who really stole the show was little 8 year old Andrew. His eagerness and zest for life and wanting to make everyone happy made my heart full and I love his never ending energy!! Wow! I wish he'd pass some to me!
The one I did not like was Nathan! He gave me bad vibes when I first met him and he didn't disappoint.
He should have never taken that role!
I think that lovers of Regency Romance will love Annabelle as much as I did. I mean, what's not to love about her!
Please remember to take each day as it comes and to tell your friends and loved ones that you love them for we are never promised tomorrow. Be thankful for each and everyday that God wakes you up. I know I am!
May I also add that home is where the heart is and where your loved ones are. It's where God has placed us in that time and place for just a little while before we go to our true home.
My thanks to Netgalley and Covenant Communications for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review and all opinions are my own.

Wow. I stayed up much much too late reading this one. It was definitely a one sitting. I knew I should go to bed but could not seem to put it down.

Annabelle is narrating her own story. The first person point of view left me guessing since, like many historical romances that I read, the point of view shifts between the him and the her. There are several hims in the story and I knew who I was cheering for, but the way it was written didn't give away the answer completely as if it had shifted points of view.

What this story is really about is finding home when you think home is lost. I was definitely captivated by this book and like I said, I couldn't put it down. You would hardly know this was a first offering from the Author.

I will definitely welcome a physical copy to my shelves once this book is released. If you are looking for a new author, give this one a try.

I was able to access an early copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.
