Diamond Rattle Loves to Tattle by Ashley Bartlkey is an excellent book that addresses the issue of reporting versus tattling in the elementary classroom. Diamond is a rattlesnake who is having difficulty making friends in her classroom because she frequently tattles on everyone over minor infractions. The book gives very specific examples of what does not need to be told to the teacher and what does need to be reported. I really like how Bartley clarifies the difference between simply tattling, which is disruptive in the classroom, and reporting safety issues. The illustrations by Brian Martin are gorgeous and help tell the story. They are cute, realistic, and are not so busy they distract from the story and the story's lesson. At the end of the book, there are tips for educators and parents to implement to help students with tattling. This would be an excellent resource for elementary classroom teachers, especially teachers who teach students with special needs. I am a special education teacher who teaches students with autism and I highly recommend this book to help explicitly teach this concept because many times our students with autism do not understand why other students don't want to play with them because they tattle.

This book is perfect for schools especially when the tattle phase hits. I really liked the tips for parents and educators in the back. I also liked how the story shows kids what to do instead of tattling. Being a school librarian, I always have requests for tattling books. I will be adding this one to our collection.

This is a fantastic book. I'm happy to learn it is part of a series to teach social skills. Its great for all children navigating making friends. Its very practical for me as well as someone who works with children with autism. I especially loved how at the end there were tips for parents and educators who were facing the issue of tattle telling.

This book is adorable! I requested this book to read to my 4 year old, who is both into rattle snakes and learning about tattletaling. This rhyming made the reading so easy and I loved how the different animals were doing things that were appropriate for their species. I would definitely recommend to my friends with animal loving children!

This is such a cute book to teach kids the difference between a tattle and when there is actually a problem. The rhymes make it a fun read and the artwork is very detailed and colorful. I will definitely be buying this to read to my 3.5 year old!

This book was given to me an an ARC from the publisher through NetGalley in an exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.

Such a clever little book!!! Diamond rattle ( aka a diamond back rattle snake... love the word play) loves to tattle on everyone for even the tiniest offense. This causes her to not be so popular among her class.

This book teaches children that tattling is not the answer. That it is important to tell only when things are important or dangerous. This book is so easily relatable to the mindset and actions of many small children. The rhymes and colorful illustrations will keep young readers attention. Overall just a fun read that also teaches important life lessons.

I enjoyed this book! I think it is a great message for kids to learn because tattling is a big thing to do in the lower elementary grade levels!

I think that I would buy this book for my classroom because it is different than other tattling books (characters are animals instead of people). Even though it is obviously a fiction book, it covers nonfiction situations that children deal with.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced digital copy of this book!
