I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is what generally happens at bedtime, so parents and children will identify with it. Bright pictures and a cute story.

Herman Jiggle, Go to Sleep! is a sweet story promoting a solid bedtime routine. As he prepares for bed, Herman is full of questions for his mom. Mom gives positive, reassuring responses. The book has beautiful, diverse illustrations. Great parent tips included. This would be a great addition to home or school bookshelf. Thanks Boys Town Press and NetGalley for the ARC of this title.

Instead of this book downloading, I received the following Making Friends is an ART

There is an art to making friendship and making friendships last. What better way to teach children with familiar colored crayons. Each color is special but one color is not feeling it. The color Brown wants to know how his box of colors can be friendly and what he has to do to be a friend. The message is be yourself and the color Brown realizes how special he is as well.

It is a great message for kiddos and parents to share together. The differences show how special each one is and commonalities bring it all together for this wonderful read.

A special thank you to Boys Town Press and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

Need Help Getting Your Child to Sleep? This Could Help

This book is meant to help young children appreciate their bedtime routine, and the author has managed to do so with a little humor that most kids would appreciate. The illustrations are soft, with blues predominating, perfect for reading at bedtime. The thrust of the story is that Mom is trying to get Herman to do his bedtime routine and fall asleep. Herman is resisting, though—something familiar to all parents and caregivers! What he does is attempt to distract mom with a lot of questions. Sometimes questions lead to other questions. Mom patiently answers; some of them teach brief moral lessons. I didn't like one of her answers, though, because she said something about the brain that wasn't right. It's one thing to be silly, but quite another to be scientifically wrong. No, chewing gum does not help make your brain flexible! Other than that, I thought this was a superb book if a child is using curiosity as a delay tactic at bedtime. The last page of the book gives tips for parents about establishing a bedtime routine.

Such a cute bedtime book! It is such a true representation of the young child’s mind with all the questions, especially when procrastinating something like bedtime! I especially loved the mom’s facial expressions! It was a little too long in my opinion but otherwise, I truly enjoyed it!

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Herman Jiggle has so many questions at bedtime that his mother starts to become exhausted from them. Herman asks question after question until he finally realises he needs to stop and go to sleep because mum is tired too.

I really enjoyed this book and will be sharing it with my daughter who is just like Herman Jiggle at bedtimes.

The information included for parents/carers at the back of the book has some great tips in it too.

I read Herman Jiggle, Go to Sleep! aloud to my 3 year old daughter, and it was perfect. It wasn't so short that she would want it re-read 100 times in one sitting, but it wasn't so long that she lost interest. The images were aligned well with the story and kept her interested as well. I feel the book was preparing me for bed-time and she gets a little older and starts asking the thousands of questions and tries avoiding sleep. Overall, would recommend this book for young readers and their parents. It also had the added bonus of tips for parents at the end about the importance of ample sleep, and to be successful at bedtime with routines etc.
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book! Will definitely recommend to other mom friends and mom-blogs/groups.

What a great book, especially when you are going through a phase of 'why', teething and not wanting to go to bed. This story is hilarious because it is exactly what happens, and it shows how good it is to have a good routine for sleep. Plus, it has a little tips section for you, on how to avoid a Herman Night. We loved the story and the illustrations.

Julia Cook always does a great job telling stories with social skills. They are books that kids lean from and like reading multiple times.

I have loved all of Julia Cook's books so far -- they describe common issues that kids have in a way that makes the issue clear to the child with fun instead of lectures. This one continues in the same style -- I read it to my daughter, who has this exact problem with asking 1000 questions when asked to do something she doesn't want to do, such as go to bed, and she got the point with plenty of laughter mixed in. The books are definitely worth looking into for specific quirks that your child can't seem to grasp on their own (or even with repeated reminders from Mom!).

Herman Jiggle, Go to Sleep by Julia Cool tells the story of a boy who attempts to prolong his bedtime routine by asking his mother a series of questions. Mom is extremely patient as she answers Herman's questions while gently reminding him of his bedtime routine. I really liked Michael Garland's illustrations as they show us what Herman's imagination is showing him while Mom answers his questions. All in all a very cute story that would be a perfect addition to any child's bedtime routine.

I can’t really give a proper review if this book because when I downloaded it, it was not the correct book. The book I got was cute though!

Unable to properly review-the downloads provided by netgalley are not working. The acsm download has a failure to import error. The Kindle version is the incorrect book (making friends is an art).

The name of this book is Herman Jiggle Go To Sleep, but it is not published yet. I received a copy of it from Net Galley.

It is a book about making and keeping new friends. It is based on a crayon box and how to getting new friends in the box.

Brown does not think he has any friends in the box, until he talks to all the other crayons in the box separately. Brown soon learns that none of the other crayons in the box could be without Brown.

The book is well written and my grandson says that when they go back to school he is going to try talking to some of the kids he does not know and see if he can make new friends.

I feel that is a lesson well learned and helpful for an 8 year old to do when they go back to school.

Very good lesson and well written. I will look for other books by these same people. They are good educators.
