All families are different and there are many different kinds of families. A simple book to show young children about families. It was a bit more simpler than I expected it to be. Good for toddler age children.
Thank you to Netgalley and Second Story Press for an ecopy in exchange for my honest review.

A Board Book that illustrates beautiful, diverse families.

Illustrations
The illustrator very definitely has a style. Either that, or a style was very definitely picked for this book. Unfortunately, this leads to the people in the book all looking like they belong to the same family–at least when you look at them for a few minutes. In a book that is supposed to highlight diversity, this is a problem. Fortunately, the target age range should not notice the similarities. Especially if they are guided by a caretaker.

It’s On My Bookshelf
Aimed primarily at the youngest “readers,” the book provides a good introduction to the different types of families that have existed for centuries in our world. In a simple expository format, basically show and tell, the book takes the child on a tour of various familial groupings. It provides a good starting point for discussion and a great reference tool for “look, this is us.” For those reasons, it’s a great book to buy, use and later donate or gift.

My thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for providing an Advance Copy of this book prior to its publication. The views expressed herein are my own.

This was a very cute, simple boardbook including diverse families. It is a book I would like for our collection, as I have not seen many diverse/LGBTQ boardbooks, and our collection has a LOT of boardbooks. It is an important book for little ones to see, both those who do not come from families depicted in the book, and for those who do come from families that look like the ones in the book. It would look fantastic in any Pride month display!

I received a free digital advanced reader's copy from NetGalley. This book is cute but there are tons out just like it.

This is a wonderful little book. The illustrations are beautiful and reflect the diversity of families so well. The simple text makes for a quick, easy read while still providing opportunities for discussion and conversation with readers, I would definitely use this as a read aloud and certainly would include this book as part of my preschool class library. I can see it being a book students turn to often as they are so often interested in talking about their families.

I love picture books about different kinds of families. We are long past the days of the "traditional" family and I love books that show that. As a bookseller, I love when I can show kids "themselves" in books. You can see them light up when they see someone like them. This book is going to be great for daycares and elementary schools. Fun illustrations with a simple wonderful message.

This is a wonderful little picture book about all the different shapes and sizes a family can be! The pictures are very nice, and I loved the examples used. Before reading this I was worried this would be VERY stereotypical, but it was not like that AT ALL! I loved the uses of pronouns, and this could be perfect to use in the classroom when learning about them, both in English countries or those that have English as their second language!
My only complaint is that I wish it was longer, but that also explains how well I liked it! Would really recommend it!

This short and sweet book takes readers through a variety of family units in today's modern society! Amazing illustrations, this book paints a very realistic picture of different types of families in the world. I loved reading it, I think the message is great and extremely necessary. It is perfect for young children and can start many important conversations. I would definitely use this in my classroom as a read-aloud or as a project. Great resource!

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. This is the perfect book for all children to read! It is short, sweet and simple as all children's books should be. Most importantly, it teaches them a lesson. The lesson in this one was about all types of families. I will definitely be buying this for everyone with children.
