If you’ve read any of the Phoebe and her unicorn books this book is just a continuation. It’s conversations and fun between these unexpected friends. There’s no uniform plot, just a collection of sweet and funny comics.

I received a free digital ARC of this title through NetGalley. This series is great for whole families to enjoy together. It has a similar with to the Foxtrot Comics. It also is like an older kids Fancy Nancy as it introduces high level vocabulary words.

Love the format of comic/graphic novel and that too on unicorns. Kid enjoyed it and finished it in two sittings. Very humorous. Unicorn is the star. Great introduction to this format for kids.

PHOEBE and MARIGOLD! You know my love for these middle grade graphic novels, it is almost pointless for me to review them at this point but I adore them SO much and want to share them with the WORLD! They are an easy and light read and they are perfect for your reluctant readers.

In this installment, Phoebe and Marigold celebrate some holidays, go to a unicorn trial, and learn a lot together. There was a lot of character growth in this book of the series though, so I thought that was wonderful. It turns out that Marigold might be holding back some of her magic from Phoebe. Luckily Phoebe knows that she doesn't always make the best decisions when magic is involved anyway.

Phoebe is even developing an actual friendship with her nemesis Dakota. It is a weird friendship but the love/hate relationship is getting better and better in every installment.

These are pretty 'girly' graphic novels but they really are a blast to read, and the humor is even fun for me as an adult. Forever interested in the adventures these two have together and a lover of this series.

Phoebe and her unicorn are back once again in their next adventure as they go on a school trip and of course Marigold teaches Phoebe all about unicorn ways, values and traditions in a super fun adventure with technology and magic causing chaos and not to make you laugh this is an awesome comic/graphic novel!

Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

A fun new volume of the adventures of Phoebe and her unicorn Marigold. While the series is losing its steam a bit, it still has very funny moments.

This is my first time reading Phoebe and Her Unicorn and I totally enjoyed it.

This is highly enjoyable and 8 year-old kids might want to read this especially girls who love unicorns.

Now i have to read the first one.

This is a lovely comic. Initially I thought some of the words are a bit difficult for my seven year old to read however I was pleasantly surprised. There are some "big words" in the comic however they bring out a good challenge for the kids.

The comic revolves around Pheobe and her unicorn and the adventures they go on. The stories are simple yet fun and exciting and given have a nice conclusion to them.

The illustrations are just amazing and they take the whole reading experience to the next level! The neon colours on each comic box makes this a very happy read.

I would definitely give this book 5 stars and would encourage kids to read it, especially if they are starting on longer story books

Another great adventure for Phoebe and her unicorn. As always Simpson delivers a fun adventure for my daughter to laugh out loud to. Marigold and Phoebe once again adventure through different activities and humorous experiences. Well written and illustrated as always. This book stayed strong in the series.

Review from the Mini-Me Reviewer: I liked it because they were funny. I love unicorn and that Phoebe has a unicorn and that her parents KNOW that she has a unicorn. ::SPOILER ALERT:: It was funny because Marigold at the end had to go to Unicorn Court. Can't wait to read the next one!

My daughter loves the Phoebe and Her Unicorn series. Book 12 is no different. The illustrations are engaging, and she is often heard laughing out loud while reading to herself.

As a Junior High English teacher, I appreciate the play on vocabulary the author uses throughout this graphic novel. It is one of those graphic novels fun for both children and adults alike. This is great pick for the reluctant reader. You will find yourself reading it a second time through!

This is the 12th volume of the Phoebe and Her Unicorn series, and, once again, it was a delight. I love this series, and so does my seven-year-old daughter. She wanted to write this review, so here she goes:

“Phoebe and her Unicorn is a great book series. The book Virtual Unicorn Experience is one of the best ones. I thought at the beginning it was very interesting that Marigold had to say bad things about herself to keep herself from floating away every day! I thought that it was very amazing that it that she could float up high and make it a lot easier for nail polish, but I did wonder why they didn’t use that in the other books because they have had a lot of makeovers!

I think that they should’ve had more Dakota in it because she is a very interesting character with her magical hair and her goblins which is why it confused me that she was only in like three panels.

I think that is impressive that the author manages to take her daily strips and make them into a book. I think that it makes it more interesting and a lot funner to read!!”

Thanks to NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This review is based on a digital ARC provided by NetGalley and Andrew McMeels Publishing.

The Phoebe and Her Unicorn comics by Dana Simpson are now up to their twelfth volume, and still going strong. In these delightful comic strips that build on a Calvin-and-Hobbes-like whimsy, Phoebe and her best friend, a unicorn, have both commonplace adventures, like the trials and tribulations of school, as well as fantastical ones, like being put on Unicorn Trial.

These comics are always delightful - they have a keen sense of humor that engage kids, while presenting some light commentary on what it's like to be a kid growing into the sometimes nonsensical world of adults. Even grown-ups who normally scoff at comics (they're really books, I promise) will find that strong vocabulary words and occasional life lessons on working hard and accepting oneself round out the silliness.

We recently reordered fresh copies of the earlier volumes of this series and look forward to adding this to the library as well.

My 7 year old is a huge Phoebe and Her Unicorn fan, even rereading the series during quarantine. She said she liked this book a lot, then paused and asked for the next one. She decided to read this one again. 5 stars from a 7 year old!

Another great book in the Phoebe and her Unicorn series. My daughter loves these books. We read them together or she reads them on her own. Definitely cute books that make her laugh and keep her entertained. I definitely recommend this book (and this series) for anyone who loves graphic novels!

I have followed this series for years, and am thrilled that I got to read this new book months in advance through NetGalley. It is absolutely hilarious, and it amazes me that Dana Simpson has been able to come up with new and inventive ideas for Phoebe and Marigold Heavenly Nostrils for a dozen books.

Although this title shares some similar jokes to previous ones, it follows unique storylines, uses familiar punchlines in new ways, and continues to develop the characters and their relationships. This book is incredibly creative, and of all of the comics and short narratives, my favorite is the story where Marigold gets called up for unicorn jury duty. Everything about this is hilarious. I love the illustrations, and the judge in his wig, and the dialogue, and all of the elements that I won't mention because of spoilers. It's FANTASTIC.

This book made me laugh out loud multiple times. It is a great choice for children, teens, and adults, and as always, it seems worthwhile to point out that my teenage brother has read all of these books as they have released. Even though the pink and sparkly cover makes this look like this is exclusively aimed at elementary-aged girls, this series is perfect for anyone who enjoys creative humor, witty dialogue, and fantasy entwined with everyday life.

Another hit from Dana Simpson! Phoebe and her unicorn, or rather, Phoebe and Marigold always end up making me smile. I don’t know how she does it but this volume was magic once again.

For the ones who have never read this series, its an effortless read with vivid illustrations that normalises the presence of fantastic elements in a child's life.

Fall in love with an unicorn that is a humble braggart. Phoebe and Marigold Heavenly Nostrils (yes, that the unicorn's name) have a lot of "unique"corn time together- magical rides, experiencing the science museum, participating in talent show, or just jabbering about fantastical things.

A child can find relatable stuffs inside- ranging from eating pop rocks, to trying to save your face at competitions.

Also, you can avail a chance to be introduced to the glossary of an unicorn- like "clip-clop" in place of clap clap, and "unique corn" in place of unique!!

You'll get a lot more out of the story if you minutely see it- how vanity keeps your feet off the ground, overuse of mobile phones, how practice is the magical key to learn things, how to accept failures and never move along with pre-conceived notions.

The book has an easy-to-follow mini story lines. The comic is not text heavy which makes it easier for children to follow. Also, there is a glossary at the end to help the readers look up for words they cannot make sense of.

Psychologists are of the view that reading books regarding befriending beings who are different from the majority of the population the child normally interacts with, makes the child regard people of different cultures, races and religions as common to them. So introduce your child to the befriending of a human child and an unicorn to make your child a more sensitive and friendlier human being.💕

Virtual Unicorn Experience would be a good choice if you are planning to buy a new fantasy comics for your child. However, don't complain if they cry for a real unicorn later!!😜

There are very few books that make both my kids (7 and 9) laugh as much as Phoebe and Her Unicorn books. This books is in line with the others in this series--silly and laugh out loud. It's not something that I recommend to study deeply, or to teach deep lessons, but it brings a lot of joy to kids.
