The writing felt to clumsy for me to consider finishing the book all the way through. In chapter one, already so many scifi stereotypes were introduced that the book felt very uninspired.

i really liked that it felt like a traditional tale, I really enjoyed getting to know the family and their struggles. I'd be interested in reading more from this series and author.

Honestly, I didn’t finish the book. Once the kids ended up on the alien planet, the action screeched to a halt. Many of the aliens were angered by the presence of humans, and the story became a political satire against immigration. That topic was fine, but there wasn’t an engaging story to hold the book together. One may have emerged in future pages, but I didn’t find the plot compelling enough to continue reading.

I absolutely love this book. It’s a nice, easy read with a fantastic plot. Definitely want to read more books by the author. Thank you for the opportunity.
