Loved this book. Perfect for readers of suspense who loved the other girl/women titles. Will be purchasing for our library and recommending to patrons.

The premise of The Girl in the Mirror is a bit far fetched, but, that said, this is a great read! It’s a real page turner, with a surprise ending that I never saw coming!

I have mixed feelings about this book. On one hand it was fast paced, thrilling, and I wanted to keep reading to finish it. On the other hand, I kept thinking that I already read or watched this exact same story. I figured out the main plot or mystery almost immediately but I still kept reading to make sure I was correct in my assumption.  I was not a fan of any of the characters in the book as they were all self-absorbed. I liked the steady flow of the story so it kept me interested despite the negatives I listed previously. I think I would have liked it better if the characters were more likeable or if the storyline wasn't familiar to me.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was on a book slump and when I picked this up, I read it in two days. You will enjoy the suspense and the storyline of this whirlwind.

If you are a fan of plot twists, this is a great one! Identical twins, Summer and Iris, have always been close. When Summer needs help, Iris is more than willing to help! See how this turns into much more than a favor in this psychological thriller!

The Girl In the Mirror by Rose Carlyle is a great suspenseful read. Carlyle definitely takes many twists and turns that I didn't see coming. She builds the perfect afternoon read.
Summer and Iris are mirror twins. Iris is the exact replica of her twin Summer, with the exception that her organs are on the opposite side of the body. She perfectly mirrors her image. After their father dies, the girls are in competition with their father's new family to see who will inherit his fortune. The father wants an heir. While on a yacht excursion, Summer disappears, leaving Iris scrambling to find out the truth and to help find her sister, who is lost at sea.
I will be recommending this book to others and would love to read other works by Rose Carlyle. I found this book very easy to read. The chapters and story flow nicely. The background story is revealed a little at a time, enough information for you to understand.

Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the bat$h!t craziest thriller of them all? Gone Girl, you were the craziest here so true, but The Girl in the Mirror is a thousand times nuttier than you.

OK, maybe not a thousand times, and maybe (for sure) Gone Girl isn’t the most bat$h!t, but you get the point. The Girl in the Mirror is one of those books that makes you wonder if “suspense” is short for “suspens…ion of disbelief,” but you’re turning the pages so fast you don’t really care. The plot twists are not hard to spot, the climax ends the lamest way possible, and the writing is merely fine. But did I stay up until 2am finishing this story about twins, a yacht, and a ridiculous race to get pregnant to claim an inheritance? I sure did. This is one I'll be thinking about for awhile, and I'll definitely be first in line for the author's next thriller. Maybe a sequel???

If you do decide to add this to your list, do me a favor though and skip the synopsis. It’s very spoilery. Bad, synopsis, bad!

“The Girl in the Mirror” is an intricately plotted psychological thriller that will keep you guessing until the last page. In this novel, siblings are pitted against each other when their father, mogul Ridge Carmichael, reveals in his will that he will leave his entire $30 million estate to the first legitimate grandchild born to one of his children.

Iris and Summer Carmichael, identical twin daughters from Ridge’s second marriage and the eldest siblings, appear to have an advantage. Although Ridge has several daughters from his third marriage, they are much younger than the twins. When Summer informs Iris that Summer is not interested in the race to produce a grandchild, Iris believes that she has the inside track.

Therefore, when Iris is helping Summer pilot the family yacht that Summer and Adam, Summer’s husband, bought from the estate, Iris is surprised when Summer reveals that she is pregnant. Wow mind blown & it’s been awhile! I’ve always heard the term “mirror image” but never knew it’s a medical term. So this story was very intriguing and the character of Iris is so wickedly evil it was actually entertaining. Mirror image twins Summer and Iris look exactly alike but with opposite features. Iris sees Summer as beautiful & perfect, which makes Iris grudgingly envious! An opportunity arises when Summer asks Iris to sail the family’s yacht from Thailand to Seychelles, but when the yacht arrives only Iris is there. Iris pretends to be Summer, but what did happen to Summer? This is an intense, paranoid, twisty read! Thanks to Harper Collins for an ebook ARC. This is my honest review.

I’m still mad about the ending. But moving on...

Iris has always been jealous of her twin sister, Summer, whom she sees as superior. Though no one can tell the two apart, Iris thinks Summer is prettier, kinder, gentler. She also believes she leads the perfect life with her husband, Adam.

When Summer calls Iris from Thailand, begging her to help return the family yacht to the Seychelles, Iris agrees, believing the boat should be rightfully hers to begin with.

This book was a pleasant surprise for me. I was worried I’d hate Iris from the blurb and almost didn’t request to read this. And though some of the plot was wildly unbelievable (and how on earth did the cut Iris made to her leg not ever bother her?), and the narrative cringey/creepy at parts (I’m looking at you, Virginia’s subplot, for example), I liked it overall. The story was fast paced and interesting and the sailing expertise was so vivid.

But please, dear God, I hope to never have to hear/see the word “sexyrape“ again.

The Girl in the Mirror is the story of mirror twins, Summer and Iris. Iris has always been envious of Summer's apparent charmed life - perfect house, perfect husband, etc - and after boating accident, while sailing with her sister in the Indian ocean, she seizes the opportunity to claim Summer's life as her own.

I found the first half of this book to be pretty slow and almost gave up on reading it but it definitely picks up during the second half. I also found parts of it to be unbelievable (like the fact that no one could tell these twins apart) and the twists were a bit predictable. Overall, it wasn't a bad read, but it certainly didn't wow me either.

Could not put it down. Twins. Big bucks. Twists. Betrayal. Longing. Jealousy. Great read. Now I want to visit Australia, New Zeland and Seychelles too!

Well, I've just finished the Girl in the Mirror by Rose Carlyle. This starts out as a family trying to come to terms with the death of patriarch and the strange the provisions of his will. You meet the two families, the ex-wife Annabeth, children, twins: Summer and Iris and son, Ben; then you meet the current wife: Francine and their seven children.
The other family members help to set the stage for what comes next. Once you move past the information in part one and you know all the players that is when you get to the real meat of the story and you begin the thrill ride to sort out just what is going on. The twins interaction and relationship is at the heart of the story. These sisters are what is known as 'mirror image twins' and what that means is they are the reflections of each other but most people can't tell them apart as if they were identical twins. I enjoyed the intrigued once the story moves to part two and all the action takes place aboard the family yacht, the Bathsheba. This yacht is the property of Summer and Adam Romain, as it was once the property of Summer and Iris's father before his death. The family use to sail the seas all the time and Iris really enjoyed this time at sea more , much more then Summer. Iris learned all the necessary charts to be able to navigate the world by sea. Once Summer and Adam are in Thailand, they call Iris to come and help them sail the Bathsheba to the Seychelles, as they've already cleared Thai customs with the yacht and needed to leave as soon as possible but Tarquin, Adam's son needed to have surgery and Adam had to stay with him. Once the twins are out to sea, that is when all mystery begins. The clause in the Carmichael Will is really what this thriller is all about, and who will have the first grandchild will collect the money!! Now the plot thickens and things begin to fall into place. The path has been set and no one can see just what is coming and that one sister is pitted against the entire heirs and who will come out on top. This is a must read for anyone who enjoys the twist and turns that can happen when money is involved and underlying hatred between family siblings.

Thank you for allowing me to read this book early. I enjoyed this book immensely. For anyone who loved Gone Girl, you will love this book too.

A delicious tale of deception and greed! This book tells the story of identical twins Iris and Summer and their unique relationship and tumultuous past.. It was a fast paced thriller that kept me hooked till the very end!

Money makes people do crazy things. It makes you lie, cheat, and hurt the people you love. What lengths would you go to to secure your multi-million dollar inheritance?

This started off slow but got better as time went on. It wasn’t the best mystery/thriller that I’ve read but it was okay for what it was. None of the "shocking twists" were really that surprising. Being a lover of everything horror, I’ve read and seen it all. I saw this coming from a mile away.

If you love horror and mystery, then you know all about the secret abilities that twins have. They can communicate telepathically and even feel emotions the other is feeling without even being in the same room. It’s quite bizarre but intriguing. Once you know those things and learn that Iris and Summer are the same, all the clues add up too easily. It was honestly wrapped up like a neat little package.

The Girl in the Mirror was an okay mystery but one I wouldn’t read again. Some of the scenes in this book are all kinds of messed up but the jaw dropping mystery just wasn’t there. I almost gave up reading this but I pushed through to prove myself wrong but *sigh* I was right. Never underestimate the power of money.

An extremely wealthy Australian man dies bequeathing his 100 million dollar empire to the first of his children to have a child. This legacy leaves relationships bitter, but his twin daughters try to maintain a strained tie. Iris and Summer sail on a luxury yacht together, where jealousy and greed play out. This is a suspenseful tale with many twists and turns. I am glad I didn't finish this and then try to go to sleep.
