Time to Hunt was a bit disappointing. I clicked on the request button purely because I'm an espionage junky and I noticed that this book dealt with a CIA officer. What I didn't realize at the time was that this book was the third book in a series that I hadn't read before. While this book can definitely stand on its own, I probably would have liked it more had I read the first two books. That being said, my biggest issue with this book was that it was a little too Hollywood for my taste--which isn't all that surprising given that the author, Simon Gervais, has never worked in the CIA or the intelligence community at large. And as someone who reads a fair number of memoirs and espionage thrillers written by people with a background in the intelligence community, I have a pretty low tolerance for the blockbuster depictions of being a spy. Regardless, Time to Hunt was an enjoyable enough read to warrant the three stars I gave it.

I read this book through NetGalley's Read Now.

This story begins with Pierce being visited by DDO Triggs. She asked him to help with the return of a former associate who was last seen in Turkey. Once she was finished and on her way back, her party was ambushed and she escaped, but her son was killed. Pierce was assigned to a team within the CIA and was to go to Switzerland where he was to kill Jorge Ramierz. Once he got to Switzerland, his target was changed. While leaving after killing the new target, all of the members of Pierce's team were murdered and Pierce went to a DEA safe house. Once he arrived there, he made arrangements with the DEA for support.

A new team then went on a mission to find Jorge and also discover who was involved with his team's elimination earlier. His new team returned to Switzerland and began the search for Jorge.

To find out whether Pierce was successful with his new team and who the party was that was responsible for all the trouble that bought Pierce into this mission in the 1st place you must read this book which I highly recommend. It might also lead you to look at the 1st 2 books in the series as well. You won't be disappointed.

"Time to Hunt", the third book by Simon Gervais which features Pierce Hunt, a part-time DEA agent and a full-time badass. The two prior books were essentially revenge based where Hunt showcases his skills and racks up the body count. "Time to Hunt" sees Hunt back in the fold when the CIA comes knocking to track down a missing spy. "Time to Hunt" is my least favorite in this series, which by no means is a knock on this book. The first two books were just that good and Gervais had to move Hunt in a new direction to grow the character which he did a good job of. I would definitely recommend this book and I look forward to how Gervais handles Hunt in the future.

Time to Hunt is the first book I've read of Simon Gervais and in this series. I didn't feel I missed anything by not reading the other books. I also enjoyed reading the author's bio at the end, and he has a pretty cool background. He knows how to write a police procedural and does an excellent job of describing locations and bringing the reader into the story.

The story is action-packed and full of intrigue and a few good twists that I did not see coming. I like these types of books that are not too predictable.

I would recommend this book. I will also check out Simon Gervais's other books. I would give this book a 4.5 star rating.

This is the third book in the Pierce Hunt series. I have not read the first two but had no trouble following along. Pierce has moved to the Bahamas with his family and it enjoys peace. But when he finds out a friend has been captured; he goes into action.
There is an element that is after Hunt and his group of friends. They race to save the world
This book is professionally written and actioned packed. I really enjoyed it. Thank you, Net Galley, for an advanced copy for an honest review.

Action packed from the opening pages yet again. Simon does not fail. I loved this in the trilogy. It tied up a lot of loose ends in the first 2 books and leads into an interesting future in the series. I highly recommend the series as they never disappoint.
