Victoria had been raised by her grand parents during to the death of both of her parents from drug overdoses! At 18 she knew her path was likely to be different from her peers but the death of her beloved grandmother “Prim” brought her world crashing down in more ways than one.

Having read Amanda’s other book all “All the things I know” and enjoying it I have been on the hunt for other books by the same author.

Although not a conventional romance and a book that can be compared to no others. This book makes you laugh, cry and hold your breath as you go through the events that unfold. One thing that this book promises you is the life lessons within and the ability to fall in love with yourself!

Furthermore this book includes some difficult but pressing topics such as bullying, drug taking and death. All of the characters have their own difficulties and this allows me topics to be broached in a way that does not make the book too heavy. It is great that this can be included in a 21st century romance read to normalise this and get everyone speaking about these taboo topics.

Great read: a thought provoking tear-jerker--an emotional roller coaster ride with a great final redemption, Highly recommend!

The Day She Came Back by Amanda Prowse was another beautifully written book from start to finish. Amanda has a way of writing from her heart and this latest book was no different, it was a beautiful read. But, you will need tissues.

Victoria's world has been turned upside down when her beloved grandmother Prim passed away, she has been left feeling very much alone as Prim was the only family she's had and knew.
Victoria's mother died of a drug overdose when she was a baby and her father also died before she was born, so Prim meant everything to her.

After Prim's funeral, a woman turns up and tells Victoria that she is her mother. Victoria is left in shock! Who is she?

How could her beloved Grandmother Prim lie to her all these years?

Who is this woman?

Why did her mother abandon her all those years ago?

Why has she suddenly turned up especially after her grandmothers funeral? and why now?

So many Whys? How's? But the only person who can answer all these questions is dead!!!! But, why so many secrets? Who has gained by this?

This book was brilliant. Once you start reading it, it will be hard to put down. I highly recommend this book. May not be a holiday read especially as you will need lots of tissues......But, then you could hide behind your sunglasses!

I enjoy Amanda Prowse novels and couldnt wait to get my hands on this one, her style of writing captivates the reader immediately so that all the emotions from the offset.

While it didn’t grip me as much as some of her other books have, it was a great read that I needed to break up my usual genres. The story has beautiful descriptions and characters who felt fleshed out and real. It is a beautifully written story about addiction, grief, love and loss.

Another great book by Amanda Prowse. I was completely drawn in and thought the cast of characters was great. A brilliant story and I would recommend this book.

The Day She Came Back is another wonderful book by Amanda Prowse with great characters and a storyline that will tug on your heartstrings. I enjoyed this book and will keep picking Ms Prowse's work in the future.

What an emotionally charged crazy wild ride! I could not put this book down! This story is about a young woman finding her place in the world. It is full of betrayal and heartache, and took me in the direction I didn’t expect! I highly recommend this one!

Another wonderful read from the author - she never disappoints and has such an engaging writing style.

I have read several books by the author, Amanda Prowse, and I have enjoyed each one. Her books meet all my favorite factors. The characters are well developed and the storyline holds your interest. The dialogue was handled well and provided emotional instances in addition to some witty moments. The author’s gift with words and her ability to provide a story that deals with relationships is amazing. She is one of the authors I know will provide a satisfying read.

A lovely read that kept me interesting and tugged at my heartstrings with solid writing and twists and turns that kept me guessing. This is my first by this author and won’t be my last - everyone will be able to relate to this in some way which is why it would make it a good book club selection. Thanks to the publisher for the copy. I’m grateful.

Victoria is an 18 year old brought up in Epsom by her grandparents, latterly living with just her grandmother Prim. Just as Victoria is about to set off on an extended world trip her world is turned upside down. Her beloved Prim passes away. Her only living relative, or so she thought, until her dead mother appears at the funeral and everything she thought she knew was just lies.

This was a very emotional read as Victoria begins a painful journey trying to understand the motivations of all the adults who kept the truth from her. Re-evaluating all the tears she had shed for her lost mother and the half truths told by Prim as she reached each new milestone in her life. Once again Amanda Prowse has written a beautiful novel that describes the relationship of three generations of women torn apart by addiction.

I enjoyed this story about 18 year old Victoria and how she had to deal with life changing family secrets. She struggled to trust others after the loss of her grandmother that raised her. It showed her missteps and growth and had several interesting characters. Thank you NetGalley for a copy of this book.

When I think of literary fiction, I think of books just like this one, that gives all the feels and can satisfies just about every reader's heart. This is a perfect books to snuggle up with on any day.

I thought this book started out a little slow as a result I was not sure that I would enjoy reading it. As I got into it I really enjoyed the read and found it hard to put it down. A very challenging life for a 18 year old that eventually turns out very positive.
