Another masterpiece by suzanne Redfearn. This was a wild ride in the vein of Thelma and Louise. I really enjoyed the dynamic of the characters as well as the storyline itself. A fun read altogether. Full review coming closer to pub date.

This book sounded very promising... two women and their children on the run (reminiscent of Thelma and Louise). I found the characters to be flat and the pace of the story slow. I know most other readers liked this book, so maybe it just didn’t appeal to me. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a good read.
Easy, and kept moving. Totally a modern day Thelma and Louise! Characters were like able and wove together well.

I received this book "Hadley and Grace" from NetGalley and all opinions expressed are my own. I have not seen Thelma & Louise as everyone is comparing this book to that movie. I enjoyed reading this book and could not put it down. The characters were great and I felt connected to them. I was hoping for a different ending with regards to Mark, I kept hoping that what happened really didn't. It was fun, it was heartbreaking, it was suspenseful, it was awesome!

I loved the characters and different points of view. Grace has a husband and young son miles. Hadley has a young daughter . Frank is in Grace's life and seems to be bad news. Frank is also a part of Hadley's life. I was interested in what drama Frank would bring to the two women. Jimmy is Grace's husband and went to sniper school. Hadley feels insecure sending her nephew with her sister.

This is a such a memorable story amongst the fiction that I read recently. It beautifully portrays the interplay of circumstances, emotions and budding relationships on an unexpected road trip that two women take together. It was a page turner for me and I loved the ending even more.

I LOVED this book. Hadley and Grace didn't set out together that night, and certainly didn't think they'd end up helping each other escape from the police.
I don't want to describe the story in any more detail as I don't want to spoil the book in any way - just go and read it any enjoy.

A fast read with strong female protagonists. Hadley and Grace are an unlikely duo who find strength in their friendship as they are thrust into a difficult situation as circumstances beyond their control put them together on the run from the FBI with two kids and a baby. Well written, these women ade strong and relatable characters. Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

I loved every second of this superb, wonderful book! Absolutely brilliant writing and fabulous characters, I am in awe of this author! I really loved No Ordinary Life and enjoyed In An Instant, so was excited for this and it does not disappoint.
I love that all Suzanne's books are totally different to each other in terms of characters and plots, and even though I have going on 400 books on my pile to read, I will be reading Hush Little Baby before anything else.
Firstly the story line and the character developments are just fascinating and gripping, this is a hard book to put down! (No spoilers): the characters are polar opposites yet weave together wonderfully, the plot is very clever and the writing absorbing and pacey, a very talented author in my view.
I loved everything about this book, one of the very best Ive read this year, I will be buying a copy as soon as it is released as it is one I will re-read and lend to others.
I would give this 6 stars if I could.
Thank you very much to Netgalley, Lake Union and Suzanne Redfearn for the ARC and the opportunity to read and review

I loved this modern day Moms version of Thelma And Louise (without the over the cliff scene ending!) I could not put this down! A definite page turner!
So well written, firm believable plot, and such a tear jearker.....yet some scenes had me chuckling. I loved the true to life characters.

Gets one of my rare 5 star ratings!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher and author for an ARC of this book. The opinions expressed are my own.

The newspaper headline read: “Real Life Thelma and Louise Blaze through Salt Lake City!”

“The two women and their kids fled in a Chevy Truck with California plates. These women might not be Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis, and their might not be a 66 Thunderbird or an Oscar nomination, but there is no doubt of the similarity in these women’s story with the fictional Thelma and Louise!”

Frank was a terrible boss.
And, and even worse husband.

But, he had money, and that is what causes these two women to meet by chance, and become accidental outlaws, on the run, alluding the FBI and capturing the nation’s fancy! 💰💵💰

How they expected to escape is mind boggling!
Their plans, not well thought out.

And, trying to travel with a 4 month old colicky baby, a “special boy” of eight, who will only dress in baseball uniforms and speak in the language of that sport, and a fourteen year old girl with a very distinctive earring-makes hiding out challenging!

Add in some questionable choices from EACH of the women, because, hey-that is what is going to make this road trip entertaining, and we have got ourselves a book that could easily become a remake of Thelma and Louise” !

You can root for them on Feb. 1, 2020!

Thank You to Lake Union Publishing for providing a digital ARC through NetGalley in exchange for a candid review!

P.S. Check out the picture of the real life Skipper Carrillo from the biography “Have a Home Run Day” which Author Suzanne Redfearn credits for inspiring the “Skipper” in this story-in her acknowledgements page, along with her love for "Thelma and Louise"!

Wow! This book is storytelling at its best! It is beautifully written, with no words wasted.
The circumstances which bring Hadley and Grace together is not a situation which either of them could have foreseen, but what a partnership they make! As life throws them together, they have to make the best of their different strengths, weaknesses and their children, as they flee from their home town to evade the repercussions of their uncharacteristic actions. I loved this very unusual story, it’s a real page turner and I could not wait to get back to it.
It’s been compared to Thelma and Louise, even within the storyline itself. As I haven’t read the book or seen the movie, I can’t make a comparison, but in my view, this book stands out entirely on its own merits.
It has superb characterisation; all of the players, adults and children, are fully rounded characters, even some of the minor ones. The plotting is tight and intense, keeping the storyline galloping along at breakneck pace. The plot itself is ingenious, and so imaginative. It has wry humour, pathos, regret, and those unforgettable central players; Hadley, Grace, their partners, all their children, and the ‘bit’ players they encountered along the way. Unforgettable.
I was sorry to get to the end of this book, and leave them all behind. One to revisit, for sure. I will look out for more of this author’s work.
My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my advance copy of this title.

“Hadley and Grace” is the latest novel by Suzanne Redfearn and I strongly suggest it be put on a must read list for anybody that is fed up with the life they are leading and need a change. Hadley, to many on the outside she had the perfect life, but to Hadley it was a nightmare of abuse. For Grace, life has always been hard since her Grandmother died when she was young and now as she is raising her own son while her husband is in the military, life has gotten so much harder. Hadley has a plan to leave her husband, but she must first get the money she needs from her husband’s office. Grace finds out her husband has lost all of their money by gambling and she has had enough, so she heads to the only money source she knows in order to make a good life for her son. The two women happen to meet and their lives are forever changed when their two worlds collide and they both realize they need to change in order to grow. I was given an advanced copy of this book, and all of the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. To me the book started a bit slow and I didn't care for Grace at all. As I read on, I loved her! Just about every review I have read compares this to the movie Thelma and Louise, then I read the notes by the author and find out that is what guided her for this story. I see that there are a lot of things that are similar to the movie so I understand it. I can't say much without spoilers, so I will say that both women learned a lot about themselves ans learned to appreciate the differences each had. I wished a couple of things had been a bit different but it was a good book.

Well written book. Unique story line and characters. I really felt like I knew each character and their nuances. Great book club book. I am going to suggest it for mine!

What a fantastic book. It starts in a puzzling, non-engaging way. So hang on in their to chapter 5 and then we're on our way. By a bizarre co-incidence Hadley and Grace, who have never met, are in the same place at the same time. A series of situations brings them together and on a cross country car chase, involving the FBI. Very Thelma and Louise, but this time there are kids in tow too: a teenager, boy with special needs and 4 month old baby.
I found myself cheering them on; booing at the baddies and having real love for the heroines.
A great book to read; I highly recommend it!

Thanks to the publisher for an early copy! I loved this book and finished in less than 24 hours. Truly a modern day Thelma & Louise, an unlikely pair of moms team up to escape their tragic lives only to find themselves tied up in an FBI chase. It was feel good, but gripping, and I couldn’t put it down.

An amazing ride that will fill you with emotions right till the end!

Hadley needs to escape her abusive marriage with Frank Torelli. She decides to flee with her two kids, knowing it might be her only chance. Grace, new mother of baby Miles, desperately wants to put her rough past behind her for good.

As their path cross with each other, their quest for a new start quickly spirals out of control and turns into a terrifying flight for survival. Stronger together than apart, the two find their fates inextricably entwined, and as the danger closes in, each must decide how much she is willing to risk for the other.

This story is told in such a beautiful way! It is narrated in alternating chapters between Hadley and Grace.

Its filled with emotions and the two women are just phenomenal. Their journey is not an easy one but both of them grow in strength and courage as they deal with each situation. It was lovely to see their bond and friendship grow as well.

I loved all the characters with the exception of Frank Torelli. Though the FBI termed them as outlaws, they were heroes in my eyes and I was rooting for them right till the end!

Thank You NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for this ARC!

“Fasten your seatbelts!” Hadley and Grace is a story of two moms fleeing their past, taking their kids, and hitting the open road.

Two women unbeknownst to each other, find themselves in a terrible position because of one terrible individual: Frank Torelli. Grace Herrick, a new mom and Frank’s new assistant, has been working extra hard for months, trying and failing at paying back her husband’s debts. After completing a project that should have earned her a commission, Grace is cheated out of the extra cash. Hadley Torelli, a wear-your-heart on your sleeve, cupcake making -kind of person, is fed up with her husband Frank. Making the decision to take the kids, she heads out to pick up her “backup plan” only to run into Grace trying to do the same. Two desperate women needing a fresh start team up, and despite their best intentions to do better for their families; they can’t seem to stay out of trouble.

This is the perfect book for a long road trip because it romanticizes the thrill of diners, sticky situations and hole-in-the-wall hotels. This book has been receiving a lot of great ratings, and although it wasn’t quite a home run for me; I can see why many readers adore it. I personally thought a few things were a bit too far-fetched, but because of that same drama, I think this would soar as a movie! What’s not to love about 2 wronged women, trying to protect their children, causing havoc wherever they go with police chases and desert flings? I’m rounding up my rating to 4 stars because it was a fun read.

Thank you, Lake Union Publishing, NetGalley and Suzanne Redfearn for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
