This is the second Suzanne Redfearn book I have read, and I am struggling to figure out how to properly review this book. Did I enjoy it... YES! I have read about where people are comparing to Thelma abd Louise.. and never have seen this movie, I do understand the reasoning.

I did feel the book was well written and the characters are well written. However... I did not really buy into the plot line. I just found myself saying "that can't really happen'... and various other sentiments. I suppose that is what a book is for... to take us away from every day troubles,

Five (trillion) stars and loved it to the moon and back. Not your mothers Thelma and Louise but a better, deeper, funnier, feminist tale of two women on the run cross-country. With three children in tow to boot. Couldn’t stop reading even if I wanted to and stayed up late to see how my two new favorite women avoided the infamous cliff, knowing that today we would have a different ending. A story of family of choice, love and trust, redemption and change when choices are made and consequences follow. It’s funny, edgy, scary and totally absorbing and you are rooting for them and experiencing the journey, both physically and metaphorically. Praying that Reese Witherspoon is casting the screenplay right now. . Food for my soul in quarantine feeling the breeze in my hair as I kept them company on the run. So very good, One of my favorites so far in 2020.

4.5 stars. This book was so FUN! Really, it's a fun and very quick read (because you just have to keep reading to see what will happen next!). It's the story of Hadley and Grace, two women who become accidental criminals on the run from the FBI with their kids in tow. Yes, it's a nod to Thelma and Louise (per the author) but it's SO much more. This is a story of self-discovery and the meaning of family. Hadley and Grace discover that they are stronger together than apart. The ending is perfect and beautiful.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Talk about a nail biter... I could barely put this one down. Hadley and Grace had me hooked from the beginning until the very end. I found this book to exciting and fast paced. The author also does a great job of making the characters familiar and relatable. I liked reading about the struggles that plagued both women while they fought to protect their children and survive. This is definitely one of my most favorite reads so far this year. I will definitely be purchasing a copy once this title is released. I want to thank Netgalley and Lake Union publishing for gifting me an advanced copy of this book!

Not exactly your Thelma and Louise copycat novel. Actually, not at all.

Grace is married to Frank. Hadley works for Frank. Frank is the worst kind of husband and boss. One fateful night Grace puts into motion her plans to leave Frank, the very same night that Hadley prepares to take off with her toddler. Both Hadley and Grace are certain that Frank has lots of money hidden at his office, whatever "lots" means, and so they go to the office, separately, to find the loot, and bump in to each other. Hadley knows where the safe is, and what the combination is. She will share this with Grace for a 50% split of the money.

So begins the forging of the tenuous relationship which eventually involves stolen cars, stolen ID, dyed hair, car chases crossing several state lines, and the FBI.

It's a wild ride. Come along with them. You won't regret it.

Thelma and Louise is one of the greatest movies ever, this book takes a hint from that story.

Grace is raising a baby boy while her husband is in Afghanistan working and gambling away the little money they have. Hadley is married to an abusive man, Frank, she is raising her sister’s child Skipper and her own teenage daughter. When Hadley is supposed to drop off Skipper at her sister so she can start caring for him she sees it as the greatest way to get out. Grace works for Frank, aside from being the worst husband he is an awful employer, when Hadley and Grace find each other sneaking around the office late at night faith makes it so they have to stick together. A wild ride with two momma bears on the run (liked that description in the book!) ensues. Grace is really street smart and Hadley is an amazing liar, together they get away with many things and are even able to elude the FBI.

I really liked the characters, two strong women, each in their own right, trying to do what is best for the ones they love. The characters are well written and the kids in the story really add to their depth. I didn’t like that there were chapters from Mark/FBI POV. Although I liked the book, the story, the characters, there is just something that doesn’t work for me. It might be the writing style, I can’t put my finger on it, but it’s there.

I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Two women who barely know each other cross each other's path by chance and then are compelled to remain together. Together, they raise their children, run from the FBI, and formulate plans to get themselves out of the trouble that their husbands are responsible for causing them.

This was my first book by this author, but it will not be my last. Hadley is married to a abusive husband. She decides to get away from him but stops at his office where she finds an employee Grace looking for pay that was owed to her. They find a large amount of money that his wife knew nothing about. They both are panicked but a bizarre situation pushes them into a partnership in their desperate flight to get away. The feds were looking for the money they have Hadley's husband in a sting operation. The feds become more involved in watching Hadley and Grace. The women are trying to keep the children safe. This story showed how far a Mothers will go to protect and care for their children. It showed the strength the women had when they made the choices they needed to make. Thank you Net Galley for allowing me to read and review this book.

This was a nice, easy read. I enjoyed the story and really liked the characters. Sometimes there felt like a bit too much descriptive wording for me but that's just personal preference. The story development was very good, you felt for the characters and routed for them. The one that died (no spoilers) was a sad one, I found myself wishing their story was different but such is life. Thank you so much for the chance to read and I really recommend the author.

Hadley and Grace is one of those books where you start it and you can't put it down. With 2 great characters and an amazing story, this one is definitely a hit. I can't wait to read another book by Suzanne.

Hadley and Grace is as much an adventure story of two women on the road as it is an exploration of the families we create versus the families we leave behind, and the journeys we take to find our true potential.

I was not sure about this one at first. The story is told from the viewpoints of different characters and the first couple of chapters set the scene. Necessary to give you insight into their lives, but I hoped that the story would become more interesting ....... Well I was certainly not disappointed there !
I loved this book, it made me laugh and it made me cry . I loved the fast pacing, the characters and enjoyed seeing how their relationship with each other and with the children blossemed as the book progressed The descriptions of all the people in the book made you get to know them intimately and as a reader you became involved in their lives.
Their Thelma and Louise adventure sounds a bit far-fetched, but was totally believable and there were many twists and turns along the way which made it an interesting and entertaining read. I couldn't put the book down after the first few chapters.
Thank you to Net Galley, the publisher and author for an entertaining book in exchange for an honest review

Hadley & Grace is a page turner! Though these two “criminals” are being pursued by the FBI, you find yourself cheering them on and hoping they will evade the law. A good story line and good character development make for a good read.

Another excellent offering from Suzanne Redfearn. A recommended first-purchase for all general fiction collections.

Suzanne Redfearn does it again! I really enjoyed Suzanne’s prior novel (In an Instant) so my expectations were set high and I am so happy to announce that Hadley & Grace met all of my expectations and then some! Hadley & Grace most definitely has a Thelma and Louise vibe, but dare I say...so much better! This novel grabbed me in the very first chapter and kept me on the hook with its fantastic storyline that is packed with suspense and depth! The characters were well-developed and I became invested in them from very early on— so much so that I didn’t want their story to end! Hadley & Grace is a 5 star novel that everyone should read!! Suzanne Redfearn is now an automatic 1-click author for me and I am already looking forward to her next book!
