The story within a story, as the islands and their quaint towns off Rhode Island and Massachusetts, are featured prominently as we sail with Danae and her marketing team, plus Josh their captain. A sweet, opposites attract, entertaining story! While Danae and Josh should not work, they do. He has given up the corporate life and she is climbing it. The week together for a corporate team bonding, and some relaxation has them both realizing they can change.
A great Summer beach read.
Thank you to NetGalley and Hallmark for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

It really pains me to say that I did not finish reading this book. I've read several by this author before and absolutely loved them. I got bored reading this one. I stopped and started it several times hoping to get into it, but I just couldn't. It wasn't bad writing, but I'm more than halfway through and the two leads are still just circling each other. So far it's been mostly work dealings. I really hate to not finish, I just couldn't sink into this story. Maybe I'll try again, I just can't imagine this author doesn't have it turning around into something better.

Sail off into the sunset with this feel good romance

Josh thinks he likes a quiet solitary life aboard his boat but us that he true heart’s desire.

Danae sets off on a works’s vacation with her colleagues and initially can’t get to grips with the laid back approach to sea life.

Full of beautiful, New England picturesque descriptions, this clean, heart warming Hallmark romance is the perfect summer read. It even cones with a yummy recipe at the end to extend the summer feeling right off the pages.

Even if you can’t get away in holiday this year, let this book take you away to sea! I received an ARC of this book but all opinions are my own.

I’m a long-time fan of Cindi Madsen’s writing. She’s just…very versatile. Whether it’s a rom-com, angsty, or sweet romance, she does it all, and she does it all well. Sailing at Sunset is a Hallmark book, so it’s a very sweet romance. But just because it’s sweet, and just because it’s a Hallmark book, doesn’t mean it easily fits into what you’d call the typical Hallmark mold.

NICUnurse’s Rating: Now, full confession…I love Hallmark movies, and I especially love Hallmark Christmas movies. But so many of those Hallmark stories fall into this fairly predictable box. Not saying that’s all bad. Obviously, at times that’s what I’m in the mood for and totally gobble those predictable stories up. I do think there’s a great market for them, as we all know Hallmark isn’t hurting in that aspect of things. But there are times where I’m in the mood for a good, sweet romance that has some real meat to it. And Sailing at Sunset has just that. The H & H both showed a lot of growth throughout the story. It wasn’t just a meet-cute. And I loved how the team grew and meshed as well as the H & H did. Maybe it’s just me, but at a time in history that is so controversial, this story really was uplifting in showing that despite coming from different backgrounds and having our own prejudices, that doesn’t have to make us natural enemies. That each person’s strengths and weaknesses can make for a cohesive group of coworkers that can also become a cohesive and uplifting group of friends. The positivity in this story was very uplifting without being saccharine and just what I was looking for at this point in our crazy year that is 2020. So whether Hallmark stories and/or movies are your thing or not, I really encourage you to give Sailing at Sunset a try. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised!

I give Sailing at Sunset by Cindi Madsen 4.5 out of 5 stars!

I always enjoy Cindi’s books and this one is also so good. It’s a perfect summer read, light, fun, sweet and loving book. This opposite attract story where the sparks fly and you can’t help but want to be on a boat with Danae and Josh.

The couple couldn’t be more different. While Danae is a little control freak and highly organized, Josh is a free spirit. She works super hard to create a good life for herself so she can’t never be worried about any bad unexpected turns. With a promotion to a Marketing position she has a come up with a marketing plan for a week long sailing tour.

Josh is done with the corporate and uptight world. He quit and after his divorce, he found out that he wants to be in sea all the time and now works doing tours on a boat. And his ultimate job? A week long sailing tour!

And that exactly on a boat that they met. They clash, burn and their banter is amazing. While Danae try to be organized and do everything according to her plan, he does everything on contrary, the less planning the better. And I enjoy a lot reading how they try to learn a little with each other, creating an off charts chemistry and friendship.

I loved the ending. If you are looking for a feel good book, full of romance and banter, this is for you. This is a clean romance, so don’t expect steamy scenes, in the hallmark style.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters are fun and well defined. Danae is a planner, while Josh is content giving tours on his Charter boat. Opposites? Probably. Danae receives a promotion, contingent on a week-long team-building cruise – on Josh’s boat. Can Danae pull off the team-building? Maybe. Can Josh and Danae resist each other? Probably not. But they try. I love to travel, so this story captured my attention. It was fun traveling on the Solitude with Josh, Danae, and her team. They are smart, creative, and a lot of fun.

A romantic, love story as different as the tide in the sea and the changing sunset easily describes this book about Danae, the new interim Chief Marketing Officer of Barton Boating Company and Josh, their hired captain for their company's week long boat retreat.

Josh and Danae were two, hurt, lost souls that were better when they were together. They brought out the best in each other. They were opposites, but they fit together. Danae was such a planner and ironically cannot live without her planner, colored pens, and stickers. Josh was more spontaneous, enjoyed the ocean, and had given up the corporate life after he got divorced.

I enjoyed the places they ventured to and the beautiful sites they saw, It makes me want to go on a sailboat and see the New England sites and eat the fresh seafood, while enjoying sunsets and the stars.

I was surprised and pleased with how the book ended. I would love to see a sequel to this book because it was so much fun to read. m I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Sailing at Sunset is a wonderful sweet romance that just makes you smile. It's an opposites attract story and the laid back solitude loving Josh and the over achieving Danae are the perfect couple. Each softening the others rougher edges. The story is beautifully written and these characters will melt your heart. Definitely a book you don't want to miss.

Sailing at Sunset by Cindi Madsen is a sweet romance at sea adventure. It is an opposite attraction story where the couple just meet but must work together to make the sailing tour a success. Right off the bat, you know Danae is a person with a few compulsive and controlling habits. Why before the first page is finished you know that crossing off items on her lists is her favorite thing to do. I’m good with lists but she takes it a bit to far. Still she is adorable in her must organized everything personality. Josh is totally opposite and could use a list now and then.

A sweet story with the predictable Hallmark ending. Still a traditional feel-good romance is not to criticize in today’s world of unpredictable 2020. It is well-written so that you feel the wind on your face, enjoyed the sunsets on the sea and feel like we will all make. A great beach read or a great wish I was at the beach reach.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Sailing at Sunset is another delightful offering from author Cindi Madsen. Danae Danvers was up for promotion to chief marketing officer for Barton Boating Company, established in 1930 and now run by Walter Barton. Mr Barton does award Danae the promotion, but with the caveat that the marketing team, including PR, social media website, and sales, are to go on a week long work retreat to pull together and bring about a brand new marketing plan, and they will be doing so on a Fortune 703 Barton Boat, the largest, most luxurious sailboat in their line. A charter captain has been hired and they are set to sail in just a few days. And, oh by the way, her promotion depended on getting this rag tag marketing group on the same page and with a new plan.

Josh Wheeler had spent a long time in corporate America, that is until his marriage failed and he decided that he was going to live his life rather than work his life away. He had returned to Newport and established his position as a charter sailing captain living on an older sailboat he had restored himself. The Barton job was just another charter, but the organizer of the trip was going to drive him nutty! What kind of control freak was this Danae Danvers anyway?

Danae and Josh couldn’t be more different. She likes to be highly organized, a trait that had been a sticking point with her last boyfriend. Josh was a free wheeling fellow who only used his planner for charters, but there was an undeniable spark. What could she learn about life from this easygoing man, and how could that help her with this contentious group she was trying to lead?

This is another lovely novel by Ms. Madsen. It is filled with endearing characters and takes them on unexpected turns as the story unfolds. I did enjoy this book and I do recommend it!

Sailing at Sunset by Cindi Madsen was such a sweet and charming summer romance about opposites attracting. Josh is done living under other people’s schedule. He lives as he pleases with no schedule and an easy-going life. Danae could not be more opposite if she tried. She is organized to a fault and likes to be in control. When they are charged to go on a work trip so they can bond and agree to a new plan, clashes are to be expected. But as they get to know each other, can they come to a compromise as feelings begin to emerge? Sailing at Sunset by Cindi Madsen was a great book to get lost in on a summer day!

Happy reading!

Thank you NetGalley, Hallmark Publishing and Cindi Madesen for gifting me an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
Last summer I discovered sailing couples on YouTube and watched HUNDREDS of sailing videos. I was instantly swept up in the gorgeous views, relaxed lifestyle and the abundance of different cultures they experienced. Only problem? I would NEVER take a boat out into the deep ocean. So when I saw this book on NetGalley I knew I needed to read it to live out some more of my sailing fantasy!
You know the saying ‘opposites attract’, but is there such a thing as too different? Danae is a classic Type A. She likes order in every aspect of her life. If Danae is a type A, though, Josh is a Type X. Laidback and spontaneous, Josh gave up his 9-5 to live and work on a sailboat. When Danae’s work brings her to Josh’s boat, their chemistry becomes undeniable.
I wasn’t super into this one at first. I think the beginning, while necessary for story build up, was a tad bit slow. Stick with it, this love story is so worth it! The perfect summer read, Sailing At Sunset will leave you craving a vacation!

Cindi Madsen is rapidly becoming my go-to author for cute and swoon stories. After the Getting Hitched in a Dixie series and Country Hearts, I was very happy to see that Cindi had now created a story on a sailboat. Josh is living the life on his sailboat Soltitude and Danae is promoted to Marketing Director of a boatbuilding company. However, to seal the deal on her promotion, she is sent out to sail on one of their own yachts with her marketing team, with Josh as their captain.
The tension between stick-to-the-schedule-Danae and laid-back-Josh is nearly tangible and it results in a lot of funny banter. We follow Danae and Josh on their trip at sea and soon both realize there is more to the other person than meets the eye. Or, in boat-lingo, both are in deep water: Danae needs to let learn to let the reigns go and depend on her team, and Josh realizes that his solitairy life maybe isn't what he would want for the rest of his life.
Cute, funny and cozy. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

Danae loves lists and organizing ... to say that stickers and glitter markers excite her would be an understatement. Her dad died when she was in high school and because her mom was having trouble coping, Danae became the person to look after the family and make sure everything got done. Josh was tired of wearing a suit everyday, so he cashed in his life, fixed up an old sailboat and made the ocean his home. He worked when he wanted to and had a solitaire life, except for his few friends at the marina. When Josh took a job to tour a group of workers on a retreat, he met Danae and his life would never be the same.

This is a sweet, feel-good romance that will have you swooning. I could totally see this as a Hallmark movie. I had to laugh at Danae the way she was so OCD about having everything organized and planned down to the minute. And Josh is just a dreamboat ... even though he had commitment issues. A great summer read that shouldn’t be missed.

This was a sweet, slow-burn romance. Not what I'm used to from this author, but thoroughly enjoyable nonetheless.

Danae was a beautifully written character. I could easily sympathize with her desire for structure after her turbulent youth. And it was satisfying to see her learn to have fun again, and reconnect with her love of sailing.

Josh was bitter about his divorce and about the corporate world. Also very easy to sympathize with. I appreciated that he was finally able to distinguish between not wanting to be around anyone, and choosing the right people to let into your life.

Some of the push and pull seemed to drag on, and I was sure things were being set up to reveal that Josh's restored sailboat was the one Danae's father sank all his money into. But the way their friendship developed was organic and really believable.

This author always delivers, and I look forward to her next book eagerly.

A sweet and fun read. Danae's promotion depends on taking her work team, who does not always get along or see eye to eye, on a week long sailing trip where they have to agree on a marketing plan. Danae's planner is her most cherished possession, and she lives for scheduling and planning. At first, she finds Josh, the captain they've hired to sail and guide the trip, to be much too calm and casual. As the trip goes on, the two spend more time together and feelings develop. Cindi Madsen's couples often have playful banter and teasing along with the sparks, and this was no different. It was nice to read about the fun experiences they had sailing through New England as well. Lighthearted and believable book.

Sailing at Sunset by CIndi Madsen gives us a light, summery read that will have you longing to be on a boat with these characters. This story is very well written about two polar opposites that can't seem to resist the sparks that fly between them pretty much at first sight.

Danae is a very organized recently promoted Marketing employee. She is usually uptight and is very particular about schedules. When Danae is instructed to go on a cruise wit her other employees to promote teamwork, she is not so sure how this is all going to turn out. It starts out rocky when the guy that is going to be giving them the tour doesn't respond to her emails about the change in schedule that she wants to happen. She is going to give him a piece of her mind when she sees him...until she meets, Josh.

Josh has recently quit his job so that he can do tours on his boat and live at sea all the time. Josh is not one to go by schedules and sort of just goes with the flow. Total opposite from Danae. When Josh meets Danae he know that she is one to be reconned with for sure. A little uptight for him There is something about her though that makes Josh attracted to her.

So, how will this weekend trip go for Josh and Danae? I can promise you that you will not want to put this one down once you start if that tells you anything! I loved getting lost on the boat with these two. Such a great read!

I voluntary read and reviewed this book and all opinions are my own. Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for an advanced copy of this book!

Great summer read! Very Hallmark movie like and made me want to go sailing! Danae and her work crew are on an eight day sailing trip on one of her companies boats. Josh is the captain of the boat. There are sparks between the two from the start and continue to grow and Danae's team bonds together. Josh and Danae are complete opposites in the way they look at life and struggle to figure out how to compromise to make a relationship work. As like any Hallmark movie, they figure that out in the end.

Looking for a sweet read then look no further than Sailing at Sunset. I adore Danae and her organizational ways. Nothing says company bonding like going on a sailing trip together and Danae handled everything with ease by the end of the trip. I love the chemistry between Josh and Danae. Neither looking for love but you cannot deny the attraction they share. Josh is an amazing captain and knows his way around sailing vessels. He has this amazing way of getting Danae off track and showing her how to go with the flow some. I loved every moment of this one and really couldn't put this one down. You really can't go wrong with any Cindi Madsen books.
