This was my first read by this writing duo, and it is the first in a series so a good amount of time was spent introducing characters, but there was still a lot of thing that happened to keep me on my toes. The sisters were strong characters and it sounds like there were other popups from another series I clearly need to read, but overall this was a solid intro that has kept me wanting more, and I cannot wait to read the next in this series.

Ashley and JaQuavis have done it again with this series! It brings in elements from The Cartel and builds on that. The LaCroix sisters are on a mission to build their empire, but in such a way that it appears legit. However, you know what happens with the best laid plans? They typically go awry. Intrigue. Suspense. Tears. This book has it all. Looking forward to the next book in the series. Thank you to NetGalley, the authors and publisher for the opportunity to review this book.

It was a great book. Sometimes hard to follow, alot of things crammed in. I love the characters and how they pay hommage to the orginial characters of the Cartel. I loved the ending! I’m curious to see what’s going to happen with the war in Miami though, can’t wait for the next book.

The ARC of this book was provided by the publisher and the author via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you. This was my first time reading anything by these authors. This was a great read and I want to definitely check out some of their other series.

As a spin-off this takes us into a different world where we meet the sisters of Ashton Lacroix who we are introduced to in Long Live the Cartel. All beautiful smart and cunning just like their baby sister who are on a mission to build an enterprise off of the backs (and scandals) of others. Things go left though when they try to take on oil Tycoons West and August Sinclair. Things go hectic because what turned out as a business venture has become personal to the sisters. Along the road of revenge blood will be spilled and old debts will have to be paid. Especially a debt that has to do with Carter Jones Jr.
The storyline kept me on the edge of my seat. I am a fan of the writing duo so I felt this was a great introduction to another family that we are familiar with all the while tying in another known story which was appreciated. I look forward to seeing what part 2 of this story has to bring. 4 Stars. *I received a digital copy of this book from NetGalley and St. Martin’s Griffin in exchange for an honest review*

Meet the LaCroix sisters...Sutton, Honor, Luna and Ashton (of Long Live The Cartel). These women are on a mission to build an enterprise off of the backs (and scandals) of others. Everything is going well, until Ice Queen Sutton falls in love with West, of Sinclair Enterprises.

What should have been an easy lick, leads to deception, rape and murder.

Hands down, one of the best books that I’ve read in 2020. The storyline kept me on the edge of my seat, and the only reason why I put it down, is because I fell asleep reading in my massage chair.

I highly recommend this 💎💎💎💎💎 read by @ashleyantoinette and @realjaquavis.

Wow!!!! This one keeps you on the edge of your seat with every page. Money Devils 1 is the spin-off of New York's bestselling series, "The Cartel". Since this is my first book by this dynamic writing duo, I was not familiar with some of the backstories. However, that didn't take away from the story. It only made me want to partake in the Cartel series. I can already tell that these authors know how to bring vivid imagery making you feel as if you were there.

In this read, I had the pleasure of meeting the LaCroix family, but the highlight of the story was the 4 sisters, all beautiful, intelligent, strategic in their moves, and dangerous at the same time. Their journey starts with the illegal world of their father and uncle. Learning from the best and putting their unique footprint on the LaCroix legacy. Sutton, the firstborn built a corporate empire targeting wealthy businesses and figures that ran them. Creating a problem then swoop in and save them...genius!

The LaCroix Group is A listed and the go-to for cleaning up the messes the privileged want to keep hidden. When Sutton breaks her own rule, falling for the mark, it is this emotional distraction that sends things in a downward spiral. What they didn't see coming was landing in the crosshairs of their family nemesis.

Money Devils 1 is a great read filled with lots of action, twist and turns to keep you engage throughout the entire read.

My first read by the duo of Ashley Antoinette & JaQuavis Coleman and what a good introduction it was. I enjoyed the story and the dynamic characters and will look to recommend and read more by both of these authors.

Another great book. So easy to read it makes you anxious to turn to the next page. So realistic and the characters always remind you of someone you know. So exciting I couldn't stop reading until I got to the end. Looking forward to the next book!

I highly recommend reading this book. Reading this book you can image the scenes playing out in your head and play it like a movie. The characters are easy to follow and you will find yourself either rooting for them or shaking your head in disappoint. Since I read an advanced readers copy, I can't comment on the grammar however I was able to read the story without interruption due to spelling errors. The LaCroix sisters will take you on a wide ride and you will not want to stop reading., I hope the authors don't make us wait too long for part 2. You can never go wrong reading an Ashley & JaQuavis book..

Bound by the lust for money and blood, the LaCroix sisters have created a venture capitalist company that is more than meets the eye.
These strikingly beautiful and brilliant Haitian American women target the wealthy and conjure up amazingly simple (yet deadly) cons. Their system is simple – identify a vulnerable target, manufacture the problem, and present an expensive solution.
All is going well until rules are broken and the human condition enters the picture. The rules were simple, but lust and the gentle touch of a man changes everything.

This story was fast-paced, engaging, and impossible to put down. The plot was cleverly woven, linking characters from other stories (Carter Jones Jr and Murder Mamas). The ending was neat, but it was a cliffhanger. Needless to say, I NEED book 2! While there are four sisters, Ashton and Sutton played a vital role.
Highly recommended to urban fiction fans!

Money Devils 1 by the infamous, married urban lit duo, Ashley Antoinette Coleman and JaQuavis Coleman, Ashley & JaQuavis, is the first book in a spinoff, of a sort, of The Cartel series.

The four LaCroix sisters are stunning and a lure to men of all types. They know it, and they use it in their legitimate business and in the cons they perpetrate on the unsuspecting. Their latest long con introduces them to the Sinclair brothers and big trouble. Sutton “Sutty”, the oldest and CEO of the family and their business, breaks rule #1 and finds herself in love with West Sinclair, an oil tycoon and savvy player. Her attraction to West is causing her to second guess herself and her tactics.

Wow! That’s the first word that comes to mind in reference to Money Devils 1. These characters are over-the-top fabulous. The relationships and interactions between the characters are convoluted, but followable. The reader may need push pins and yarn to keep up with the connections, but it’s worth it. The very complex plot is extremely well-executed. There are twists of monumental proportions. The ending – just Wow! This novel is worthy of my 5 out of 5 star rating. I definitely enjoyed it and recommend it to everyone who enjoys urban fiction.

My thanks to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

“This isn’t a hustle. It’s a corporation.”

Money Devils 1 is the brand-new offering from literary duo, Ashley & JaQuavis. It focuses on four sisters Sutton, Ashton, Luna aka Gadget, and Honor. Each sister serves a purpose at their lucrative business, The LaCroix Group. Sutton is the head of the operation. She is no nonsense and straight to the point. But nothing is as it seems and when West Sinclair enters the picture, nothing will be the same again.

Money Devils was a fast-paced read. From the prologue to the thrilling conclusion, I could not get enough. There were so many twists and turns that I did not see coming. I’m talking jaw-dropping! My emotions were all over the place. There were so many elements at play. I do not want to say too much so I will leave it there. The characters were well developed and morally grey.

Although reading the Cartel series (especially Long Live the Cartel) prior to reading Money Devils 1 is recommended and will provide you with tons of background information, I definitely feel like this book can stand firmly on its own. The way that Ashley and JaQuavis have woven this tale left me on the edge of my seat. I cannot wait for the next installment.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect the first 20 or so pages of this one but as I read on I became more invested in the story. It’s a unique read and really entertaining. There was some language that I know some might not want to read about but it didn’t bother me at all. Old rivals, family history and 4 beautiful sisters with a hustle.

The Lacroix sisters are about their money.

I love a good scam. Money Devils felt like I was returning home, I do not know the last time I picked up an "urban fiction," but it was a great decision. Ashley & JaQuavis are such a dynamic duo, and I spent so much of high school reading their books while I should have been paying attention during Spanish class.

Money Devils was excellent, fast-paced. The Lacroix sisters were luxurious, bossy, and down for one another. This book did enough without doing too much, and I spent two days with my head in this book. Money Devils flowed well so well it made it easier to get entangled in the messiness and grit of the book.

If you have free time, pick up this book, but only if you have free time because it will take up your entire day.

Thank you to the publishers and Netgalley for approving my request, and I am looking forward to the second book.

I will go ahead and say it: I didn't love this book.

I do, however, like it and I enjoyed the ending.

Money Devils 1 is NOT a Cartel book, and that is ok! It is a branch-off.

Quick rundown: Remember Matee? He has a brother, Milo, who left Miami with his daughters when things got hot with the Diamonds. The LaCroix sisters have their own personalities and roles in the family business. They do their dirt the legal way, but it isn't without risks. While on a major job, the situation goes left, and the sisters are placed in a dire predicament. Will the sisters make it out of this?

Although I didn't love it, I do like it and think it makes a good transition book. What brought this down to like is me being confused. For instance, I am confused as of how Ashton can be trained by the best but made simple mistakes. I'm interested in seeing my girl, Mia, and catching up with the Diamonds, as I know their paths will cross.

The story was interesting and easy to read. It is also a quick read, so those of us looking for a brief respite from life, can pick this up and be transported to the lives of the LaCroix sisters. I am looking forward to reading part 2!

Well written account, that reads like fiction even though it is all true. This book is so good it should be a movie. I advise everyone to read it!

Finally wrapped up Money Devils 1 by Ashley & JaQuavis⁣ (@ashleyantoinette @realjaquavis)
⁣⁣
I was able to read an Advance Reader Copy from NetGalley (@netgalley), this 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 18, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟎⁣

This is book one of a new series which includes sisters: Sutton, Luna, Honor, and Ashton LaCroix ⁣

These girls are BAD, okay!! Complete bosses in every sense of the word. ⁣But, greed is something serious folks..

This one kept me on my toes because when I thought I’d had the storyline down, something else would happen. There was a lot of things going on and I just know someone is bound to get hurt. One thing that I know for sure is that a sleeping giant has been awakened... I cannot wait for part 2! ⁣

This book dropped the biggest plot twist of Summer 2020. Ashton has more ties to the lover she left behind than anyone knew and leaving was a hard choice to make. Ashton longs for that love but finds comfort in being around her sisters. Every character in this book is motivated by revenge and it is not always the dish that is cold. Ashley and JaQuavis have delivered another summer banger and the plot is fucking juicy. This is absolutely a book that belongs on EVERYONE’S summer reading list because the authors are all the way with the shits.

Rating: 5 Stars

* A special thank you to the publisher for this review copy*

I could track my teenage years by the release of an urban fiction novel. I was always in Harlem standing in front of tables, exchanging dollars for plastic covered books that both wowed and excited my adolescent mind. I haven’t been back to the genre in years until now.

I’ve never read an Ashley JaQuavis novel, which surprises me considering I had to offload (see: sell) most of my urban fiction novels to make room for more books. I had over 100 urban fiction books in my arsenal, but somehow I’ve never read a book by this duo. Now that I have, I won’t turn back.

The Lacroix sisters are a group of four sisters bred into a life of crime—white-collar crime. Their father is in jail for a job slip up caused by the baby of the group, Ashton. But on the "right" side of the law is the oldest daughter, Sutton runs a PR firm that conducts its business by making of a mess of her client’s business dealings—and then getting them to hire her to fix it. The way it’s played out is seamless until love and revenge conflict/cloud their dealings.

Let’s not waste time; Money Devils is a damn good book. The characters are off the wall. They’re unreliable, and they don’t make the wisest decisions, but that’s what made the book fun. The twists and turns were so unexpected; I had anxiety for the entire last 30 percent of the book. I was almost too nervous to finish, but I also couldn’t pull away. Money Devils is unputdownable. The prose is down to earth, but masterful it’s on purpose. No word, section, or moment is useless.

There isn’t any unnecessary pomp and stance—just straight gritty, exciting storytelling. The characters are all vividly written, and nothing feels like they have left it unsaid or unexplained. I will say this if you haven’t read the Cartel series you might miss the character references-but you can easily read this book without feeling lost.

The book ends on a cliffhanger which is to be expected considering it’s a series, but the wait will be the sweetest kind of torture.

And the romance—West was just the businessman/bad boy that I fell in love with between the many pages of the many urban fiction novels I’ve read before this. However, he also gave me the contemporary book boyfriend vibes I love so much in my romance novels. I smiled so much when he was on the page; I had to bite my lip to stop because I was embarrassing myself. Lol. He was so smooth with it.

“Guess I’m getting old. I’m normally in bed this time of night.” -Sutton

“Lucky bed.” -West

“I told you he’s your driver. When you need him, he’ll come anytime.” -West

“But I don’t need him,” she said. -Sutton

“Yeah, but I need you.” -West

Come on; he’s smooth!

Adding in the romance added another layer to this already multi-layered novel. It has a little of everything: Romance, intrigue, murder, hood antics. It’s everything an urban fiction novel could and should be.

Let me repeat myself for the people in the back. Money Devils is an urban fiction novel, which means there will be “street” references. Please do yourself a favor and skip this book if this is not your cup of tea. There’s no reason to judge a book because of the genre it’s in because it’s not your thing. However, if Urban fiction is your jam, or if you’d like to dive back in, this will be the right direction to take. Money Devils will bring you right back. This novel is a winner, and I am eager for the next addition. Two thumbs up.
