This is the 4th book in the Federal K-9 series and can absolutely be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the previous books first as they are interconnected and enjoyable reads as well. In this one we get Katrina and Dayne's story. Kat is a wealthy socialite who runs a rescue shelter. Dayne is tracking a killer and the trail leads straight to her rescue and her. They are the only thing in common with the murders, and he believes she will be the next target. Now it's a race to not only solve the crime but to keep her safe.

This book starts off with a bang and keeps that going throughout the whole book. These two are from completely different worlds but they compliment each other like you wouldn't believe possible. Dayne is what you would expect someone in his position to be-alpha, protective but with a sweet side. Kat may come from money but she isn't afraid to do the things that need to be done. She is smart, business savvy, but also completely lovable which really surprised me. I wasn't sure I would like her and I absolutely did. The story is definitely fast paced and keeps you reading from start to finish, or at least it did for me!

‘Trap ‘N’ Trace’ is the fourth title in the ‘Federal K-9‘ series, and although I haven’t read the previous titles (I have them, simply ran out of time before this review was due) I wasn’t the least bit lost as anything I’d need to know was in the dialogue or narrative.

While first impressions matter, they can also be very, very wrong. Such is the case for Dayne when he runs into Kat again under far different circumstances. This time around the very rich woman has discovered two dead bodies in one day and the only thing that seems to connect those two murders… is her. As Dayne and his K-9 partner, Remy, go into protection mode he will discover that Kat is very different from what he first assumed. No stuck-up socialite who looks down on the world from her ivory tower, Kat is devoted to the animals at her rescue shelter and completely at ease with all of her employees who also adore her. So, what is the connection? That’s what Dayne is determined to discover, along with keeping Kat safe… and maybe falling under her spell along the way.

It’s hard for me to say which I loved more – one rambunctious little puppy named Angus or one devoted working dog, Remy, who took a little one under their paw, so to speak, in watching over a little bundle of fur… or the humans who were trying so hard to solve a dangerous puzzle and definitely falling in love as they followed clues down twisting pathways. It’s probably a tie between them in reality. Dayne and Kat are such a good pairing, both have hidden qualities, both are a bit stubborn, and each completes the other in all the ways that matter without changing a thing about themselves. Of course, there are potholes along the way to a happy ending, but that just makes arriving at the destination all the sweeter.

‘Trap ‘N’ Trace‘ is full of twists, turns, and unexpected discoveries. And some painful realizations for Kat. Being wealthy and powerful isn’t always all it’s thought to be. Dayne has to not only protect Kat but change his thinking about a woman who is so devoted to the lost or forgotten animals she shelters. Each has layers, and it was fascinating to watch their true selves be revealed. A really good puzzle to solve, some sizzling moments, adorable pups, and heroic working dogs and a couple to make you believe in romance once again – all combined made this story one I was easily swept up in and will be re-reading again. If you love a really good Romantic Suspense with dogs tossed in for good measure, then you’ll want to pick up Dayne and Kat’s story real soon.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from Entangled Publishing via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Love, danger and puppies – a brilliant combination…

I love reading a new book in this series because each becomes the latest best of the bunch! Katrina was unexpected – a beyond rich woman with a heart of gold. When she found not one but two bodies in a single day she deserved FBI agent Dayne Andrews protecting her six. Handsome, capable, and good with kids and dogs? Yeah, he was a keeper. They were from either side of the proverbial tracks though which meant assumptions and pre-conceived notions that had to be knocked down one at a time…

Full of tension and suspense, Katrina and Dayne lived and loved their way through a romance peppered with mystery, danger and beyond adorable puppies. Great storytelling seems effortless and that was exactly what this one-sitting read felt like. I hope there is more because I am no way done with the Federal K-9 squad!

trap'n'trace, the latest entry in the federal k9 series at least didn't focus entirely on cops. when socialite katrina vanderburg encounters two dead bodies in one day and is nearly killed for her efforts, she ends up with dayne andrews as her protection detail.

their previous encounter wasn't great, but they overcome the awkwardness once all the murdering gets too close for comfort. i mean, there's still a lot of cops in this, because there's a murder investigation and it's just weird. i wish i could say that what is happening in the world around us didn't affect me as a reader, but i think i'm going to have to start avoiding stories that unilaterally depict cops as heroes.

so reading this, i loved kat, i loved dayne, i thought their back-and-forth was compelling and interesting. but, the suspense aspect was difficult, and it's not anyone's fault. it's just where the world is right now.

**trap'n'trace will publish on june 15, 2020. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/entangled publishing in exchange for my honest review.

I received a copy from Netgalley for my honest review.

This is my first book from this author and I must say I am impressed. The heroine, Kat, is an heiress who loves animals. She supports an animal rescue shelter and while returning a puppy stumble into a murder. She meets Special agent Dayan Andrews and his Doggy partner Remy. The chemistry between them is great and the suspense is very well developed. I enjoyed the banter and the use of the dog as a character. This book is a definite read for anyone who enjoys romantic suspense.

This was right in what I have been reading alot of lately. Murder and intrigue enough to keep you flipping and the romance to warm the heart. Katrina has been taken into a tailspin with her discovery. Then we have Dayne whom is with the FBI and his K-9 which makes this read a treat. He thinks something other then the general consensus. Because he is on the track and protects her he discovers whom is Katrina. As that happens and we get further into this one the chemistry meter is rising. Needing answers is what we are searching for too so this one engages you in every way.

Trap 'N Trace is a story of people from two different worlds. Katrina is a billionaire and Dayne is a K-9 Special Agent with the FBI. When danger throws them together they have to fight the chemistry between them. As they struggle they find they have more in common than they thought. But will it be enough? Won’t matter if they don’t survive.
This story is filled with love, misundertandings and dogs. Angus is an adorable sidekick for Remy. I heartily recommend this great romantic suspense.
This story may be part of a series but stands well on its own.

Trap 'N' Trace by Tee O'Fallon is a fast-paced romantic suspense that epitomises the concept of being in the wrong place at the wrong time! I've been a fan of Tee's Federal K-9 series since the beginning, and I can honestly say I've enjoyed every one. I mean hot alpha males with soft centres, mystery and suspense, lots of romance, and let's not forget the dogs!!! Who could ask for more?

The Federal K-9 series follows a group of men who all went through dog training together. Although they are all separated into different branches of the government, they are still there for each other and help each other on special cases. In Trap ‘N’ Trace, we get to revisit Dayne and Katrina who had met in a previous book, although to say they did not make a good impression on each other was a bit of an understatement.

All the preconceived notions and ideas of stereotypes were all strongly in Dayne's head, and it was fun to watch him slowly realise that Katrina is not the person he assumed she was. That's not to say there wasn't any personal growth for Katrina. Although she didn't have any pre-conceived bias against Dayne, it was interesting to watch how she had to deal with her own relationships; that what had happened to her had changed her, and that the superficial socialite friendships were no longer fulfilling for her.

Like all the books in the series so far, the rest of the 'boys' make an appearance, although only Kade, Jamie and Markus had active roles. I did miss the other dogs though, in previous books, the boys were always accompanied by their K-9s, in this one they were solo. It’s a small thing, but Remy and Angus’ relationship made up for missing the others, they were an absolute delight!

This one kept me guessing until it was finally revealed who the killer was. I had all sorts of theories going on, but absolutely none of them were even close! I love a good red herring, and this author is fantastic at writing them!

If you enjoy a well written, character-driven romantic suspense, then I can't recommend Trap ‘N’ Trace highly enough. This book can be read as a standalone, and it's not detrimental to the enjoyment of the book to have not read the others. I do suggest that you do read the rest of the series, even if you go back after this one, it's a much richer story when you know all the details, and the books are so much fun it's not a hardship!

Trap 'N' Trace is the fourth book in the Federal K-9 series. It is another amazing read and a great addition to the series. It pulled me in from the beginning and kept me riveted until the end. It was a fast-paced, suspenseful read with an intriguing storyline that flowed seamlessly. Kat and Dayne were wonderful characters with great chemistry. Add in the adorable dogs and this is a MUST READ.

Trap 'N' Trace is the first book written by Tee O'Fallon that I have read. I was so impressive and found the book just my cup of tea that I have already gotten the first in the series. There are several before this one so I have some catching up to do. Still this story of Kat and Dayne is complete in itself.

I requested the book based on the cover not the description. K-9 stories are some of my favorite. I was prepared to be disappointed by the description which read like Keven Costner with a dog in The Bodyguard. What a wonderful surprise to read and see that this story has so much substance and police thriller suspense to it that it is a hundred times better. I liked both of the main character from the beginning even when they didn’t like each other so much. What lessons in not stereotyping to assuming to know someone by their name, appearance or financial status. Then the police work has an authenticity to it making me believe that this is how cases are solved one step at a time. As for the romance, I found it believable too. It had a slow burn to it until it wildly combusted.

If like me you have been looking for more since reading D.D. Ayers’ K9 Rescue, this is the book for you. I loved the people, the dogs and the story in this one. While I am catching up on the previous book in this series, I can only hope for many more K-9 stories from Tee O'Fallon

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time, Katrina (Kat) found herself caught at two crime scenes. It all started with a puppy and Kat’s need to reconnect Angus with his owner. Kat’s world slowly turned upside down. Because she was a witness she needed protection courtesy of the FBI agent sent to help with the murder. But he also comes with his adorable K-9 partner. Instant connection between Kat and Dayne, the two dogs too, and cue the alpha neanderthal protective gene. Fast paced and a standalone from the other books in the series. The whodunit kept me guessing because there were a few suspects. Definitely a great read and very enjoyable. Netgalley provided the early copy and my review was provided voluntarily.

Wealthy socialite Katrina life is in danger after she finds 2 dead bodies in one day. Since one of the dead, was an ex FBI agent, Special agent Dayne and his K-9 partner Remy are assigned to protect Katrina. Dayne has a jaded view of Katrina, and as he gets to know her all his misconceptions gets cleared. Giving in to the attraction he feels might just impair his judgement and put Kat’s life in danger, but keeping his hands to himself is proving difficult by the minute.
This is a very exciting romantic suspense. The suspense kept me on the edge and the story moved at a pace that kept just didn’t let me put the book down. Add in the hot chemistry between Dayne and Kat and 2 adorable dogs and you have a very enjoyable and entertaining read.

Trap 'N' Trace is book four in Tee O'Fallons Federal K-9 Series, although it can easily be read as a standalone, as each book features a different K-9 Federal Department from State Police to CIA. With this particular story featuring FBI (K-9) Investigator Dayne Andrews, who is called in to investigate, when local heiress Katrina Vandenberg stumbles across the dead body of a former FBI Agent and is then pulled further into the investigation when the killer seemingly targets her and her business Canine Haven.

And it really was an enjoyable story. That had cute canine companions and likable characters. Not to mention a nice amount of mystery, danger, romance and heat. And honestly, I was easily engaged throughout.

Would happily recommend.

My favorite of the series so far! Kat and Dayne misjudged each other from their first meet. But when they are “forced” by circumstance to spend time together, the masks are off and they learn to love what they uncover. The dogs were awesome!

I cannot resist to a book with a cat/dog on the cover and I usually love them. This one was no exception.
It's an excellent mix of action, mystery and romance and it kept me hooked till the end.
I look forward to reading other books by this author.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

I love this series of hunky law enforcement officers and their K-9 partners. Dayne is a FBI agent with a protective streak a mile long. His partner Remy is just as protective. Kat is a billionaire socialite who has found herself in the wrong place and in trouble. Protecting her becomes a job for Dayne and Remy. Tee O’Fallon brings all her years of experience in law enforcement to bear as she engages the reader in the procedural aspects of what it takes to solve a case. This heightens the tension as you turn the page looking for when the the next clue will show up leading you closer to the killer. Meanwhile you are watching the developing passion between Dayne and Kat and rooting for them to get a happy ending.

Perfect blend of romance, action, mystery, and puppies!

This amazing story starts strong with our heroine landing right in the middle of a murder scene, and the suspense just keeps building from there. We're given a detailed, front-row seat to the investigation, which intensified the intrigue while also letting the reader feel every raw emotion as it happens.

I loved how Kat and Dayne continually defied each other's expectations. Their chemistry was instant, and the emotional depth really carried it far beyond simple physical attraction. There was a strong ring of authenticity in the major obstacle to their relationship, which I thought was resolved splendidly. Their HEA was nothing short of inspiring.

There are a lot of wonderful scenes that showed the humanity of these characters. One of my favorites is the fundraiser where Kat sets aside her proper decorum to deliver a much-needed comeuppance. There are a couple heartbreaking moments, steamy intimate scenes, and a couple scene-stealing pooches that add both levity and gravitas as we get an inside look at the life of a K-9 officer.

This story was a non-stop read for me, one I highly recommend for anyone who loves romantic suspense. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Trap N Trace by Tee O’Fallon is part of the Federal K9 series and may be my favorite. She’s an amazing author and is at the top of her game with this page-turning suspense, romance, K9 story that also has all the feels. I think it’s her best yet—and that’s saying A LOT!”
I didn’t expect to love Kat’s character as much as I did. The author has an exceptional ability to create characters you fall in love with and maybe drool over; Dayne. Kat may have been a ridiculously rich socialite but she had brains and character. I enjoyed the scenes where she was apologizing to her mother for her behavior.
Dayne is FBI and helping the local police solve a murder that Kat found. He ends up being her protector / bodyguard when she finds another body within 24 hours. Is Kat the connection?
The author created such great scenes that one minute you are laughing (Dayne walks out without his shirt on), or you are creeped out by the flower delivery guy, or holding your breath for the next clue, or sighing as Remy plays with the puppy Angus.

If you love romantic suspense, pick this one up. You won’t be disappointed
Sexual content – a couple physical scenes and lots of chemistry
Violence – a least two murders,
Drug/Alcohol use – some minor drinking
Language – f word was used 36 times.

I received this book from Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review.
