Will she be able to save herself without endangering her heart ...

I knew nothing about this author and something in the blurb intrigued me.
I read a few paranormal authors, yet in a few weeks, I discovered three new ones and I loved the insight they give of this very wide world.
Vampires are in the paranormal beings I like the lest, so far I do not find their blood lust very enticing, plus their cruel behavior often leaves me unsettle.
Shifters, I very much prefer, is it because of their bond with their animal side, I just prefer when the mating urge does not devour all the romance part.
And so far, outside Harry Potter, I have only read one or two romances about witches and warlords, I was never very much attracted by this side of the paranormal universe, I do not know why, maybe my upbringing reading Marvel and DC comics, I do prefer forms of life with superpowers.

So It was with very neophyte eyes I began my reading, and I was instantly smitten. So much I read it quite fast. I did not felt lost despite it being the three books in a series and the whole background quite new to me.
The plot was interesting, the characters attractive, and the book in itself answers all the questions emerging from the first chapters.
The open epilogue is a sweet teaser for what might come later.

Rowan, despite she being on the run, looks like a resilient and determined woman, not once broken pat her many ordeals, in fact she comes out every time stronger.
She is not bitter about her fate and what she faced in the past, still able to love and enjoy life even if she knows time is running out.
Greyson is supposed to be the more powerful of the two, yet Rowan, lively nature and inner talent with kids breaches his defenses, she crumbles his walls and opens himself to feelings he buried long ago.
This fast paced and entertaining had me mesmerized at how they would deal with the villains and how they might redeem Rowan her past deeds.
4.5 stars

Rowan is in a heap of trouble with her life on the line. Her only option to escape the hunter who is determined to bring her in is to hide in plain sight as a nanny to his triplet girls. Immediately, Rowan is drawn to the family and the more time she spends with them, the deeper she falls. But she has to remain on guard and thwart Greyson’s efforts whenever possible because if he discovers who she really is, her death warrant will have been signed. Except instead of keeping her distance from the powerful warlock, she continues to interact and before long she is wondering if he could be trusted. Just when she is on the verge of confessing all, another looming threat makes an appearance and endangers them all. Rowan has no choice but to protect the family she has come to love, even at the cost of exposing herself. If she loses her life and Greyson in the process, at least they will be safe from harm. But in the end, the decision is neither hers nor Grey’s to make. Not knowing where Greyson stands following their harrowing battle, she isn’t sure if she has an ally or an enemy in the eyes of the Syndicate’s lead hunter. Eyes that make her long for so much more than she has or has ever dreamed of. And Rowan has one more secret to show Grey – one that could make all the difference – if she ever gets the chance to speak to him. But she must know his true feelings before her final confession now that she understands the meaning behind the mysterious mark.

Greyson Masters is alone in this world. He’s a widowed father, struggling with his three magical teenage triplet daughters. Not to mention he holds a very high position within the Syndicate as the lead hunter. To make matters worse, his latest case has hit a dead end. He has little to go on but a vague description that could describe thousands of possible witches. An then his ridiculously gorgeous nanny shows up and all of a sudden begins to lift some of his burdens; making his house feel more like home. But the jaded warlock doesn’t easily trust and suddenly he even suspects Rowan of being the target he has been charged with acquiring. But that would be crazy. As his feelings toward Rowan grows, he also maintains some small amount of uncertainty as he witnesses small occurrences that don’t quite add up. Chastising himself for not being more trusting, he shrugs some of it off. But suddenly a dangerous battle reveals what his investigation could not – and the mystery surrounding Rowan becomes much less hazy. But there is still a lot to ferret out. While his foremost responsibility to the Syndicate is to get to the bottom of Rowan’s actions that led her here, his heart demands to know what was real between them and what was an act of survival. Because only the truth can provide them any chance for a future at this point. And Greyson is holding out hope that Rowan’s feelings are just as deep as his own.

I’d like to open this review by stating that I have not read the other books in this series. As the 3rd book, I did not have overmuch issue in feeling like I knew what was going on and what the roles of each character were. So reading this book as a stand-alone is a definite possibility, That said, there was very clearly a ton of shit that went down in the previous books as well as a nice set up for any further books in the series. I’m relatively certain that Ms. Owen left the door wide open for both Grey and Rowan to return for appropriate scenes as the series progresses. Maybe more so for Rowan, but with Grey’s position within the Syndicate, he also has the potential to show up in several circumstances. Given how much must have occurred with the pages of the first and second book, I do wish I had gone into this book with that knowledge. While the author writes in a way that fills the reader in on previous events, it was also what I feel was a footnote version. I would have like to know the several returning characters and their roles before meeting them for the first time in this book. I mean witches, warlocks, demigods, shifters, wraiths, demons, and whatever the heck Delilah actually is … it’s a bit overwhelming but simultaneously intriguing. So yes, if you end up reading this book without realizing it is 3rd in series, then you will be just fine. However, if you have the opportunity and prefer the full effect – or even just allowing events to unfold in order – then I highly recommend reading this series in order.

Dang! If ever I could see a book as a movie … this would be one for sure! I easily played out each scene as I read what was happening, the vivid accounts flashing before my eyes. It’s not that the story was inundated with a shocking amount of detail, but the writing itself allowed me to conjure every scene up as it occurred with very little effort on my part. And that’s a gift all readers appreciate. The easier immersing myself is, the deeper I get pulled into a book. True escape into a book as it were. I found Greyson intriguing. A man who is lost, consumed by his work, and blind to the joys in life since the passing of his wife. His days have become almost militant in schedule with little to no time for anything pleasurable. Once Rowan steps in, she knocks his axis off-kilter and opens his eyes to what he’s been missing. The laughter of his daughters, for one. I was almost shocked that he admitted he didn’t hold a deep, soul-shattering love for his deceased wife, yet his love for his girls is apparent. Rowan is just about as opposite as one could get from Greyson. She has an affection for life and while she is hiding many aspects of herself and the power she holds, she finds happiness in making this family smile. Part of that could come from the fact that she believes her days are numbered. Not many would be able to escape with a target on their back like the size of hers. And while she may be simply hiding in plain sight, she also knows she has to appear like she knows what she’s doing. But the more time she spends with the girls and Grey, the more comfortable she gets in her role. What began as a secretive game designed to keep her safe and thwart Greyson, quickly turns into much more than she could have ever anticipated. And with that comes my curiosity about Delilah. It is eluded to that she may have placed Rowan in that situation to reach the exact outcome that occurred. But who or what she is never gets discussed. Her only name as far as we know is Delilah. That’s literally it. So I feel that there is quite a lot more to her and that eventually all will be revealed. No idea how many books it might take for that to happen, but I believe it will eventually happen. And there is likely some kind of history – or will be – between her and a member of the Syndicate. As far as the other characters, I am intrigued – fae, demigod, and wolf shifters alike. I would say that it is likely I will at some point find the time to read this series from start to wherever the current finish is. I’d also like to see the triplets attain their full potential. We may know a bit about their gift, but no one truly understands what they are capable of at this point. Serious untapped potential there – and a trilogy. *wink*

Let’s talk about passion. The attraction level within this book was pretty high, but as far as the passion occurring and description of said passion, it was quite tame. Definitely not anything to make one blush or write home about. There is absolutely no doubt that Rowan and Grey desire one another. But the passion, once it occurred, fell a bit flat. For the bit of a slow-burn that it was and the desperation they supposedly felt, I expected a bit more than what was provided. When it was over, my first thought was … what just happened? It’s over? So, yeah. Bummer. And I almost would say that scene could have been cut without them having done anything, making it a clean romance. However, I also believe given a comment made by Delilah, that the act itself is what changed a predicted outcome just before that happens. So not only was it disappointing, but it was also the catalyst to their blossoming bond. Again, bummer. So my advice is not to read for the passion element. Having never read Ms. Owen before, I cannot say as to whether she tends to lean heavily toward the tame sexual content or not. But for this book, in particular, you will not find fulfillment between the sheets within these pages. So let’s leave this aspect at the door. As an entertaining paranormal romance, it’s still a damn good read. As a series, based on this book alone, it’s got a fantastic amount of potential. For this being my first experience with Ms. Owen, I truly enjoyed my time spent. I will likely be returning to Ms. Owen for future reads. I’ll just know to expect a tamer romantic element. And that isn’t necessarily a bad thing at all. Fans of paranormal are sure to find an exciting escape within these pages.

I would like to thank Abigail Owen for providing an #arc of her next book in the Legendary Consultants series, #BaitNWitch via #NetGalley, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Bait n' Witch by Abigail Owen is the third book in her Legendary Consultants series, a series that follows the cases of Brimstone, Inc ... a supernatural help service is the best way to describe it. In Bait N' Witch, it centers around Rowan, a powerful witch, raised to distrust her peers, and is currently hiding from Mage High Council, after the events of the first book (The Demigod Complex), where she was abducted, and compelled to perform magic to attack others. In fear of her life, she asks Brimstone Inc. for help hiding. Enter Greyson, the Mage High Council's best enforcer (witch-hunter), and a very powerful mage himself, who is tasked to hunt down Rowan and bring her in for questioning. In an ironic twist, he also asks Brimstone Inc for help. Not in the hunt, but in finding a nanny for his twelve-year-old triplet daughters, who run nannies off frequently. The solution: Hide Rowan in plain sight, as the newly hired nanny to Greyson's daughters.

This isn't the first book I have reviewed of Abigail Owen's. (See here for my review on Shift Out of Luck). I wasn't the hugest fan of it, but it didn't push me away from requesting another book of her's. Abigail Owen's is a good writer, so I wanted to give her books another chance. I'm glad I did. The story was cute and fun, and original. It's a quick read (I had it done in less than a day), but it didn't need to be longer. It's quick and to the point, with just enough to push the story along, as well as make the attraction between our two narrators believable, as well as the bond Rowan builds with the girls.

The characters are well-written, with thorough backgrounds, and different personalities. Rowan might be in fear of her life, and her free-will, but she is strong, and protective of those she loves. She might be in hiding, and not a professional nanny, but she takes her charge seriously. Greyson is your typical alpha-male. Lost when it comes to raising teenage daughters by himself, especially daughters with unknown magical powers, and swamped with work, he brings a strict level of control into his home by having his daughters follow strict schedules. While stern, he is loving, and only wants the best for them. Rowan and Grey's first meeting is a delight, and the chemistry is great between them. I saw why they were attracted to one another, which was something that was missing in the first book I read from Abigail Owen.

If you enjoy the supernatural genre, and romance, you will enjoy Bait n' Witch by Abigail Owen. It's a fun, light, quick read, with likable characters, and some steamy moments that will make the romance reader happy. Bait n' Witch is out June 15th, 2020.

The blurb for this book states it can be read as a standalone but it relies heavily on the events in book one and the characters are central to the resolution so there are significant spoilers to book one.

This is a quick light read. I enjoyed the plot and characters but it does suffer for its length. it could have been fleshed out some more, with more time spent developing the relationship between Rowan and Greyson.

I received an arc of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I wish I had read the first two in the series before I started book 3. There is a lot of catching up and a little confusing at first but soon the story pulls this lost reader in and I can't stop myself from enjoying every second of the book. The book is short and sweet with that being said the author is able to pack a lot of fun into a book that will have reader excited for the next book in the series.

The story had tender moments that have readers knowing the story is paranormal it has heart and soul everyone will be able to connect with.

Thank you to netgalley for the advance copy of Abigail Owen Bait N' Witch

I've missed the first two books in this fab series. What a tragedy - I've now added them to my TBR list!

Rowan's upbringing was unconventional to say the least but when she is on the run for being in league with a magical criminal, she needs to get out of Dodge fast. When Brimstone Inc decide to hide her from the investigators they decide the best place for her is in the home of the lead investigator! Talk about hiding in plain sight!

She may know little about children but with her magical talents are on the downlow. So she uses good old common sense, reverse psychology and good old "Nanny Voice" to get them in line.

Greyson enjoys his job. Its time consuming and doesn't exactly make him Mr Popular but looking after triplets is much harder! They've run off so many nannies it's not funny anymore. Bur Rowan is like a gift from heaven. His house runs like clockwork, she can get the girls in line and she is damn sexy. An added bonus.

Really loved this little gem. Rowan is a Scot (just like me!) and I loved her no nonsense approach. She is caring without being a snowflake and I loved her devious plans to get the kids in line. Rowan and Greyson are just sparky and snarky! I'm now going to read books 1 and 2 to see what I've missed!

We return to Delilah and her Brimstone Inc working to keep Rowan safe. She’s the witch who was controlled by Kaios and is in need of saving from the coven syndicate. When you’re on the run what’s better than hiding from your enemy than within the enemies ranks?

Greyson is a hunter and known for always winning. He’s a father of triplet girls in need of a nanny. Rowan comes to the rescue but you can’t keep the past hidden forever. When things heat up in multiple directions Everyone will have to make choices they may not like and I seriously loved this one.

I enjoyed this book a lot. The characters are multifaceted. They are paranormal but have beyond your average supernatural skills which made it more interesting. The romance was sweet and passionate. The attraction was immediate but the characters allowed it to build and become explosive! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Every story in the Brimstone Inc. series has been wholly addictive and Bait N' Witch is no exception. The third magical outing features Rowan, a witch of incredible power who has been taught not to trust her own kind. Rowan also possesses a strong vulnerability, one that a powerful werewolf used to force her to do something horrible. Now Rowan has to hide from the judgment of the Covens Syndicate. And what better place to hide than right under the nose of the hunter sent to bring her in?

Greyson Masters may be the Syndicate’s best hunter, but he’s also a widowed father of preteen triplets who have a power no one can quite figure out. The triplets need a new nanny and Brimstone, Inc. has sent over Rowan, a witch of supposedly little power. Rowan is the first person who has been able to bring peace to Greyson’s household, but there’s something about her that makes him restless. The pull between them is strong, but what will happen when Rowan’s secrets are revealed?

As individuals, Rowan and Greyson are wonderful characters. Rowan is a powerful witch who has survived more than most could deal with and she’s retained her strength and kindness through it all. I loved watching her bond with Greyson’s daughters from the first. Preteens can be scary enough but add in magic? Yikes. Rowan is more than up to the challenge, though. She slides easily into the Masters household and into the hearts of the family itself. Greyson is the best at his job but he’s slightly in over his head in his household. He’s a loving father who is doing his best and it’s easy to adore him. As a couple, he and Rowan click from the start. I loved watching how they seamlessly became a couple, almost without realizing it. But Rowan can’t hide who she is and how powerful her magic is for forever, not from Greyson and not from the werewolves that are hunting her.

Bait N' Witch is just plain fun to read. It has romance, magic, action, and even a small mystery featuring the triplets’ abilities. I was hooked from the beginning and didn’t want to put the book down. I love how author Abigail Owen weaves together all different magical and mythical beings to create a fascinating world. If you don’t mind spoilers for the first book in the series, The Demigod Complex, then you can read Rowan and Greyson’s story as a standalone. I enjoyed everything about Bait N' Witch and I cannot wait to see what happens next in the Brimstone Inc. series.

This book was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Entangled Amara!

Bait N’ Witch is the third book in the Brimstone Inc. series and tells the story of Rowan and Greyson. Although this is the third book in the series, it can be read as a standalone.

Bait N’ Witch is my favourite book in the series so far! I really liked the story and the concept. The characters were amazing as well and I just loved reading about Rowan and Greyson. Bait N’ Witch was such a quick read and I enjoyed every bit of it!

Rowan is such an amazing character, she’s so sassy and I loved it! Greyson on the other hand was a bit reversed in the beginning of the book, but the more I read, the more I started to like him too. I also really liked reading about the triplets, they’re just so cute and badass!

Bait N’ Witch was another amazing book by Abigail Owen and I didn’t expect anything else! I love the Brimstone Inc. world she has created and I love reading about all her characters. I cannot wait to read more books in the Brimstone Inc. series and maybe we’ll finally get a book about Delilah?!

I received an advanced reader's copy of Bait N' Witch by Abigail Owen from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was not the first book by Abigail Owen that I've read and I have never been disappointed so I went in with high hopes. Happily, the positive track record continued with another fun book!

Overall, I felt this was a solid romance and I found it to be well written. I especially liked the primary and secondary characters' interactions and found their banter to be amusing from the start. The main characters, witch-in-hiding/nanny Rowan McAuliffe and badass hunter/parent of triplets Greyson Masters, started out a bit adversarial with their ideas of child (witch child) rearing a little at odds. As Rowan settles in and starts whipping the household into shape while connecting with the triplet witches and making eyes at their hot daddy, the fun begins.

I found the plot and action to be steady, and the romance was believable and steamy. The only part that might have been better (could have been developed more fully) was the revel about the triplets' power. It felt a little anticlimactic when it was a larger plot point earlier in the book.

All in all though, Bait N' Witch by Abigail Owen was a quick, fun read from a solid author and I would recommend it for any romance fan.

Loved this addition to the Brimstone Inc series! It may just be favorite of the series so far. Bait N' Witch pulled me out of a bad reading slump and I'm so grateful for it. I was up till 3am finishing this one, I read it all in one sitting. The characters were interesting and fun and the romance was perfectly paced with the length of the book. Though these are more novellas than full length Owen always manages to make them feel like they are full length in the best way. It's complete and enriches the whole world created each step of the way. I also love that we get peeks at the previous characters we've come to love.

Rowan was fabulous! I loved the nanny plot line and her relationship with the triplets. It was just as enjoyable to me as the blossoming romance between Rowan and Grey. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Rowen McAuliffe is a powerful witch, but she must hide most of her power while she's in hiding. No where is better to hide than right under the nose of the ones hunting her. Looking after three preteen witches is not that easy.

Greyson Masters is an enforcer for the Mage High Council. He takes his work very seriously. It would help him find the witch he's after if he could find out what she looks like.

Just how long can our heroine hide before trouble catches up to her?

There is a lot of danger in the magical battles and a lot of fun and mischief from the youngsters. Will our hero be able to save his family and Rowen??

Absolutely magical fun.

I LOVE this world soooo much and Bait N' Witch was an absolute hit with me. It was a bit more on the slow burn side, which I'm normally ok with, but since this was a novella length. I was just begging for a full-length novel because I wanted so much more of Rowan and Grey.

What a place to hide, right in plain sight. I really loved that that aspect with their story and just reading their inner dialogue about what they thought about one another. It was absolutely everything. Between the mystery behind Rowan, Grey's fierce love for his daughters, I was completely hooked on their story from beginning to end.

When it came Grey, I loved how sensitive he was and how how in tune he was to Rowan's feelings. He never really thought about his actions when it came to her and I'm like ugh, dude, you're going to blow this. It was actually kind of adorable to see.

And I just loved everything about Rowan! And that's all I'll say about her ;-)

Such a great read, but I was just begging for more by the end! Abigail does it again with this novella and I can't wait to read more.

Ms. Owen has a talent for writing that will simply hook you in to the story like your under a spell as if she is a witch. I read this novel in a span of 4 days cause I loved it. I live for witch content novels as I feel that I’m also a witch and feel so connected to the plot line. You are able to enjoy this novel without reading the first two novels, Owen does a wonderful job filling the reader in on details that are important to the plot line in the first few chapters. This novel is the perfect novel if your looking for a slow burn romance between a witch and the man that is trying to hunt her down. This is novel number 3 in the series of Brimstone Inc., The Demigod Complex is the first novel followed by Shift Out of Luck, A Ghost of a Chance then Bait N’ Witch. I will reading the other books in this series. But this is what the book is about…
“In love with the witch hunter father of her charges…
Rowan McAuliffe has been hiding most of her life. Secretly trained in her powers by an unusual source, she’d been taught not to trust anyone. Especially other witches. However, after she was forced to perform a hateful act against her will, she now hides from the Mage High Council who seek answers, and possibly her life.
Greyson Masters is the Council’s best enforcer – a witch hunter who lays down the law. Despite the danger of his job, Greyson is also raising his triplet daughters. Alone. Budding new witches who display an alarming combined power no one understands. Too bad he hasn’t got a clue how to deal with them.
Little does Greyson realize that the new nanny sent to him by Legendary Consultants is the very witch he is hunting. When the truth is revealed, can these two opposing forces find a way to listen to their hearts? Or will Greyson have to follow orders and kill Rowan – the one woman who has made his soul come alive?” – Description from Goodreads
This book is full of magic and romance. I wish there was a little more romance, it’s a slow burn for sure. I hope that more stories of witches are written, it makes me so happy to read them and be magical transported into their world and feel powerful and magical at the same time. If your looking for a forbidden love between the Boss and the Nanny this magical edition is for you. I hope that you will enjoy it as much as I did. Anyone have any recommendations for a great romance novel with a magical touch?
I would like to thank Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for a honest review.
I would rate this novel 4 out of 5 stars, Very well done.
Keep on Reading,

Bait N' Witch is an incredible adventure of the heart born from mysterious origins and enhanced with magical intensity. There is never a dull moment, and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I simply loved and savored everything about this story. The entrancing characters, the beautifully complex storyline, and the ever present danger weaving in and out left me in awe and anticipation. This epic journey will change your heart and mind.

Rowan needs someone in her corner now more then ever. Life is crashing down around her, and to survive she must do the unthinkable. Greyson has a lot weighing on his shoulders. He must find an impossible balance between family, work, and life. Can two people lost and alone in the world fill the massive void in the others life, or will they bring their world tumbling down no matter what they do?

I found myself completely entranced by the intriguing Rowan and the straight laced Greyson. These two rubbed against each other at first meeting, and they entertained me the entire time. They captured my heart and set me on a course for a powerful climax of epic proportions. Nothing prepared me for the power and beauty of this brilliant work of art.

Abigail Owns is a master at pulling all of my heart strings. She doesn't pull any punches, and when she throws twists at you, she makes you feel every excruciatingly painful edge. I love this intensity to her writing, and I can't wait to see what she creates next in this fabulous series!!

After the first two stories of Brimstone Inc. I was very curious to see which pair would be brought together by Delilah. I do hope she gets her own story, because she is awesome. As head of Brimstone Inc. she sends out people on assignments. This time it is Rowan, who is send out to be a nanny for a triplet of witches. So far, so good, but her employer is no other than the enforcer, who is trying to find her. After the attack during the mating ceremony (yep, the one in The Demigod Complex), Greyson was send out to find the witch who was responsible. So he tries to get an appointment with Tala and Marrok (yep, the ones from Shift Out of Luck), which is not easy when trying to raise your triplet teenage witch daughters as well.
Especially when the nannies are moving out of his home faster than he can hire them. But his newest nanny seems to be a lot out of a lottery: she seems to handle the girls wonderfully and they genuinely seem to like her. Even Grey can't keep his eyes of his nanny, while he is supposed to be searching for another witch with red hair. How long will it take for Grey to realize his nanny is no normal witch? Find out for yourself in this funny, cozy and heartwarming read. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

this is first I've read by this author and found it to be an enjoyable light read with a nice balance of humor, action and romance. I suspect if I had read the prior books in the series I may have gotten a little more out of it as far background on the characters and overall world/situation, but didn't find the lack of such as having any real impact on my enjoyment of the story. I'll be on the lookout for more by this author.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

First thing that I want to mention about this book is that it is the third in Abigail Owen’s “Brimstone Inc.” series. As a reader who are into this series at book 3 I was pleasantly surprised that each one seems to be written individually, as such I did not feel lost at all when I started reading and was quickly enveloped in Rowan’s world.

As a lover of both paranormal and romance genre books I was hooked on the story and the interactions between Rowan and Greyson. The story itself had some very enjoyable plot twists, even if there were a few times that it was predictable. This to me did not take anything away from the story itself. I would have liked an epilogue about the main characters but I understand that the author is trying to lead into the next book in the series.

I read this book in one sitting within about 4 hours and I definitely want to go back and start reading this series at book 1.

If you enjoy paranormal romance you will enjoy this book and it’s a nice fast easy read. My favorite kind.

Thanks to Entangled Publishing for the Advanced Readers Copy.
