I struggled with this one, unfortunately! It felt quite unoriginal, and predictable, and I didn't really like any of the characters. I think it had potential, but at the end of the day, it wasn't for me. Thank you for the opportunity to read it!

This book was just sadly not for me! I was hoping for something different but it turned out to be something I was not expecting, which is okay and I'm sure someone else would love it!

This has been on my TBR for several years now, and I can’t seem to make myself finish it. I’m sorry! I’m sure someone will love it, but it just isn’t for me.

I liked the wider messages regarding friendship in this book. But I struggled with its voice and dialogue. I think that with my day-to-day being a high school teacher I am familiar with the way teens talk and it makes me hyper aware when reading if the voice isn't authentic.
Thanks to NetGalley for giving me access to this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was very much a high school, ya romance which reminded me a little of high school musical - I think that was mainly due to it being set in an American school with the classic ‘hot athletic guy’ falling for the one girl he shouldn’t - his best friends little sister.

It took me a while to get into the book and it did feel a bit slow compared to the books I’ve been recently reading but was still an alright book. I couldn’t relate to the characters that much but I think that’s due to the age difference and me never being one of the popular kids at school!

This would make a good YA book though, a bit of drama, bit of forbidden love and nothing too risky!

well this was certainly a wattpad book. The writing was choppy and the dialogue was intensely cringey. Maybe high school me would've liked it but my taste in books then was questionable at best. It isn't actively problematic and that's the only thing keeping me from 1 star.

I couldn’t get into this one at all and unfortunately it had to be a DNF for me. The writing was hard for me to get into. Its YA but it felt too immature for me.

This was a very tropical YA book but there’s always a need for that! Slow at times but I loved the dialogue :)

I just couldn't get into this one and ultimately decided to DNF. I'm sure it will be enjoyed by many, but not every book is for every person.

A super cute cover, but the love I had for the cover did not translate to what’s on the inside. This book was not for me, so I let it go.

I received this copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I couldn't get into the story. I liked the concept of it but the characters were unlikable. I would give it 3 stars

This book was ok, but a bit of a let down. I’m an avid romance lover and reader. I can usually power through, but this book had me struggling til the end. I had to take it in doses. The themes were a bit off putting, but I respect the intention to mention some very important social issues. Not my favorite book, but also not the worst I’ve read.

The Bro Code is about a group of boys that go by different Bro Codes. One of the boys falls in love with his best friends sister which we all know is against BRO CODE. Overall I gave this story 3 stars because it was a little slow but a cute quick YA read.

unfortunately, the bro code wasn't for me.

my main issue was the writing style. i was excited to read a young adult novel from the boy's perspective but i kept running into walls where he was...really annoying.

also, i didn't think he and the girl had much chemistry, or interactions. he had more fun with her brother. why didn't he date him instead?

I found this to be an enjoyable read, keeping me on my toes throughout. The storyline was written well and flowed seamlessly. I look forward to reading more by this author!

Not my cup of tea. I tried to read this book around 5 times but it was not working... I am not sure if it is the characters or the setting, I usually like these high school-dare-romance stories, but this one is not for me.

I give this book 4 stars. I love the the characters of this book, I love how just the right teenage drama is showed, the only thing I don't like is Nick's dad. I just don't particularly like when the parents are as strict as his parents, and the way his dad acts with football and training. Otherwise I liked all the characters. It was easy and quick to read, I like the fact that this book shows the boys going from teenagers to men, with them following their bro code, and in the end, finding out that that's not how life works, and making up a new bro code.

I couldn’t get into this one at all and unfortunately it had to be a DNF for me. The writing was tough for me to get into and I felt as if the storytelling was quite juvenile (yes this is a YA but it felt catered toward a much younger and less mature audience)

This book ended up impressing me, but annoyed me throughout most.
The “Bro Codes” throughout were a bit exhausting and foolish, but I after thinking about it, I realize that most high schoolers do have that mentality.
I enjoyed seeing the characters learn their errors by living by the codes and appreciated their way of “fixing”.
I won’t read this again, but I’d read the author again.

I received this book from NetGalley!
