This was a really cute book and the illustrations were awesome. I also like that it rhymes and will keep a child's attention to the important message that everyone is different but that we're all special.

Its a good book telling kids that physical differences does not matter. It is only our feelings make us all the same. Illustrations are good. It begins and ends with a bible verse.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the eARC.

I requested and received an e-ARC of this book from NetGalley and Our Daily Bread Publishing in exchange for my honest opinion.

I really liked that this book talks about all of the differences we may see when we look at each other; but this book also highlights all of the things that make us the same and bring us together like kindness and love. I also like that the illustrator showed children with different abilities and skin tones.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

This is a lovely rhyming book for young children to help teach them about differences, diversity and being unique.

I loved how the author included pictures of emotions, children with disabilities and different races too.

This book is a great tool for teaching about everyone being different and to embrace who you are as who you are is how God made you to be.

Different Like Me is a beautiful children’s book about diversity.
It’s so important to teach kids that being/looking different is okay!
This book definitely does that.

The illustrations are beautiful!
And they go so well with the story.

Thank you Netgalley. I intend to buy a copy when this is out.

Different Like Me is a cute book about diversity and inclusion. Everyone is unique, but the things that make us the same are just as important as the differences. The book has rich illustrations and the rhyming keeps the listener engaged in the story. The book is written with a Christian perspective and would be best used in a home or in a children’s church environment.

Thank you to Our Daily Bread Publishing and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

What a lovely picture book for young children! The book has a very important message for children that 'we are all different and just as special as each other'. The illustrations were lovely and fun, and the writing was simple and perfect for little children. The book featured two lovely Bible verses, and some great discussion points. This book is perfect for parents and teachers to read to children and discuss afterwards.

This book is very well written with beautiful illustrations. It makes me happy when reading this book. What I loved about this book is the story begins with a Bible verse (Genesis 1.27) and ends with a different verse (Psalm 139.13-14). This is a simple story to teach our younger generations how to accept the differences and embrace the diversity in our society.

Thanks for NetGalley and Our Daily Bread Publishing for approving my request for a free copy.

A beautiful book celebrating our differences and similarities. The illustrations are bold and stunning and the story has a wonderful message. Though this is labeled as a Christian book, there are only a couple of references to God/religion in the story. At the end, there is a nice guide with questions for parents/teachers to spur discussion with children. As this book is a little repetitive and simple in its message, it would be great for young children.

Thank you NetGalley and Our Daily Bread Publishing for providing this ARC.

This is a children's book that is good for Pre-K age kids. I really love children's book that shows kids everyone is different and some kids has disabilities. I will be buying this book to take to my kids EC (Special Needs) Classrooms. I think it will also show them that it is ok to be different. I really love this book. Their is bible sayings in this book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher or author via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This book is schedule to come out August 4-2020.

The illustrations for this book are perfect! I would love to gift this to a family and I can already think of more than one that would treasure reading this picture book to their children. Though we might see the differences between each other, the turning point came with this line: "I look all around me and what do I see? So many kids not so different to me." Honing in on the ways we have been made that are similar to each other, was a beautiful turning moment and I anticipate it will resonate for other readers too.

I received a digital arc from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

If you are a religious person, I would definitely recommend this book for your children! I wanted to read and review it because it seemed really cute and the cover art was beautiful, but I didn't realize it went at it from a religious angle. I have no issue with it but it isn't for everyone.

This book is all about how wonderful the differences are and how they should be embraced, but we are all still the same in many ways. I love the emphasis on how our differences should be celebrated and embraced, as this is something many kids have a hard time learning. This book cites Bible verses at the beginning and end and includes a discussion guide for parents and teachers.

The art is definitely my favorite part! It's great to see so much diversity in a children's book.

Cute illustrations, good rhythm, great message! Shows ways kids are different but also the same....all of which leads to special!

In these days when "different" is often reason for discrimination this book shows children that 'different' is actually a reason for celebration.

A lovely book with gorgeous illustrations that features a wide variety of children, including ones with disabilities. Sadly, the religious component limits the scope of the story and ultimately takes away from the message by being untentionally exclusionary. People deserve respect, equality and rights no matter in what god a person believes in or how we came to be. Hinging a person's rights on the fact that a god made us this way is limiting, in my opinion.
Sadly, I think that the religious angle muddles the message and weakens the impact but it might work for other readers.
This book is for pre-school children of (heavily) Christian families.

This is a wonderful little book for young children. The story is sweet and engaging. The illustrations are bright, beautiful and every child will find someone in the pages that they identify with. I highly recommend this book for every family library. It will also be a blessing for every kid's church and classroom!

As a teacher and mom, I love this book! It shows that although people are different in many ways (skin color, eye color, abilities), we are all the same inside. I love that this book represented diverse groups of children including children with service animals and children in wheelchairs. I will be purchasing this book for my children and for gifts for other families.

"Different Like Me" by Xochitl Dixon is a wonderful story about how every person is different and people should embrace and celebrate that diversity. The story does have religious snippets including a few verses from the bible in the beginning and at the end of the book, but it does not impact the story or how it can be read in non-religious families. The colors and pictures are wonderful and truly complement the beautiful storyline. When we read it to our children, the little ones were engaged and followed along. There are even questions at the end of the book to assist with leading a guided discussion of the content. Overall, this was a wonderful story with a great message for all family members, young and old alike!
