As Taylor declared, ‘tis the damn season, so here’s another holiday read I enjoyed! This novel is a Hallmark movie wrapped up into book form (and I say that as someone who loves a good Hallmark Christmas movie!) Granger Fields is a single dad who runs a Christmas tree farm. Joy Benson is his daughter’s art teacher, who has sworn off love. I think you know what happens next...🎄❤️

I’m always a bit skeptical that books like this will be too cheesy, but I felt like Season of Joy had the perfect amount of sweetness! I enjoyed all the characters and their journeys to find a happy ending. Thank you to @readforeverpub for the gifted copy!

I couldn't stop reading. I love Annie's Christmas stories and had been waiting for Granger since the tree farm caught on fire in Blueberry Creek. There were twists and turns and so much heart that I could barely stand to stay on pace with the group I was reading with. For readers who like Hallmark movies with depth and lots of emotional twists, pick Season of Joy up now.

Story

I love Sweetwater Springs – this series of books is one of my very favorites. I love diving back in with a new release from Annie Rains! When I delayed reading this (thanks, 2020) after the pub date, I was happy to join in with the #SeasonOfJoyForever readalong this month.

Granger, the single dad owner of a tree farm, and Joy, the local artist, kick off a cute yet hesitant relationship in SEASON OF JOY. Joy agrees to help watch his daughters after school and teach them art lessons but they fall for each other quickly, a little nervous to start a relationship after their past romances fizzed out in heartbreaking ways. Granger’s ex wife left the family with post-partum depression after their second daughter and you learn a little more about Joy’s story as you keep reading.

I don’t want to get into what happens but I definitely saw the “conflict” coming from a mile away. A few chapters were frustrating but unfortunately understandable – as is the case in most romances!

Wintery Setting & Holiday Feels

I’d been looking forward to Granger’s story because he owns the tree farm in town. Throughout the course of the story, they add more and more festive activities and crafts to their operation. It made it feel so Christmassy! I could totally picture the farm and all of the fun holiday activities there – feels like a New England kind of thing 😉 Sweetwater Springs has multiple holiday events in the town too that definitely added to the Christmas cheer.

Overall

Overall this is another solid installment in the Sweetwater Springs series! I really loved the Christmas tree farm setting and learning about Joy’s artwork. The two were a nice match and Granger’s daughters were (mostly) pretty cute. The tension was logical when the time came for it and I understood where everyone was coming from. I’m giving this a pretty high score on the holiday cheer-o-meter specifically because no place is more festive than a tree farm!

A Christmas-tree farmer in a small town meets a free spirited artist who loves Christmas crafts?! Sign me up.

Knew I would love this book from the synopsis and Annie Reins didn’t disappoint! I was pleasantly surprised to find that the romance in this novel didn’t only exist on the very last page, as most holiday romcoms seem to do, and I loved every bit of it. Hearing Granger Fields’ struggle with his love life after his history was a refreshing storyline, and I really appreciated how well rounded he and Joy were. Likable characters and plot with just enough Christmas cheer to get you in the holiday spirit - definitely recommend!

I just adore the Sweetwater Springs series and always look forward to a new book, and when it’s a Christmas book it’s even better! As always you can read any book in the series on its own but I recommend all six if you’re looking to fall in love with this sweet little town and it’s residents.

I’ve longed for a book about Granger for awhile now so I was delighted we finally got to get to know more about the single father in town. I’m beginning to realize that I love that trope, I think it’s the cute kids alongside a swoon worthy hero and Granger basically had it all for me. He’s a great dad and his family owns a Christmas tree farm, SWOON. I really liked Joy as well, she was relatable and sweet. I love how the author brings depth to her characters without going too dark, she manages to discuss some difficult issues without losing the lightness this series is based on and this was no exception. This also had plenty of Christmas fun and festivity, basically everything I want in a holiday romance!

This was such a cute holiday read! It follows a single father who had two daughters and is helping to run his families Christmas tree farm. After a devastating fire the previous year, things are looking bleak and he needs to come up with some creative ways to bring customers in.

Enter Joy - a young, newly single woman and local artist. She is looking to save up some money to buy the art gallery of her dreams on the main street of her small town. So when the opportunity to teach art classes comes up for the two daughters, Joy agrees because she really needs the money. She soon ends up doing more than that, helping with art classes at the Christmas tree farm, making a name for herself and also helping out the farm in a big way.

Of course, there is a budding romance between the two main characters and it was cute the way things progressed between them. I really liked the story and the setting of the Christmas tree farm was very fun and festive! A great read for this holiday season!

Granger is a single father to two young girls. His family runs a tree farm but a fire recently set fire and took out a decent amount of trees and now they are trying to figure out how to stay a float. The last thing he needs is for his normal babysitter to quit especially since the girls still feel abandoned by their mother splitting. Joy is hoping to open her own art gallery but at the moment she needs funds and Granger offers her money if she can help out with the girls.

This book was sweet in some ways and I really enjoyed reading it. Perfect for the holidays while its taking place during christmas time if you are the type of who is a seasonal reader but don't like the whole christmas holiday thrown in your face you'll like this book. It wasn't cheesy as well which sometimes comes with the territory of taking place during the holidays. There wasn't anything overly dramatic it was just a sweet little contemporary book. I enjoyed seeing how the book turned out, seeing the relationship form between Granger and Joy and seeing how everyone was with eachother. Overall this was a pretty good book and it was made even better with the addition towards the end with the novella. I really enjoyed it.

Season of Joy is a heartfelt Christmas Romance that made me smile.

Joy is a character that I will not forget. Her huge heart is only one of the things I like about her. I always like that she knows what she wants and goes after it. Joy an artist is coming closer to fulfilling her dream, but what she did not expect is to achieve her goal through a sexy Christmas tree farmer and his cute little girls.

Granger is the type of character in the hero role I enjoy. You love him even for his flaws, because no one is perfect. Granger is a divorced dad who would do just about anything for his girls, but can he say the same for himself.

Granger and Joy are battling the passion between them, once burnt twice shy for both of them. Granger is protective of his and his children’s heart, Joy’s is healing by her cheating ex. Can they work pass all the hurts and find something special for Christmas?

Supporting characters helped give Seasons of Joy a few fun moments, even Tin the dog added in the fun. The plot was brilliantly done, as with anything to do with the heart sometimes things can get a little messy. Annie Rains is a remarkable author that knows how to pen family issues, strong character building and moments that will stay with you after the book has ended.

Season of Joy truly has everything you could want in a Christmas book - a small town, a tree farm, a single father, adorable kids, and a woman who you root for. Granger and Joy are just absolutely adorable in every sense and Annie Rains does a wonderful job making you feel transported to the Christmas tree farm. I really enjoyed reading this and will look for more by the author.

Cute Christmas story about Joy Benson. She is in small town America, she is an artist, and she has a broken heart. All she wants is the life of an artist, including her own shop and gallery. Granger Fields is a single man with two little girls and a mountain of problems. Of course the Christmas season is right around the corner and everyone is In desperate need of a little joy on their lives. That is until the ex-wife shows up. Great characters. Cute setting. Hallmark movie plot. Throughly enjoyed this read.

Granger:
“You are all I wanted for Christmas this year”
Joy:
“You are all I didn’t know I wanted. And more”
Looking for a perfect feel good romance book for your Christmas season?
You will find it by reading “Season of Joy.”
I really loved this heartwarming Christmas story by Annie Rains! Season of Joy is the most perfect Christmas book.....terrific Christmas present to give to a reader friend. I know I’m picking it up for several of my friends!
Joy and Granger are endearing and watching their relationship blossom was just beautiful. Along with the setting of Christmas, a Christmas Tree Farm and two very sweet little girls.....just a book with all the “feels.”
Though part of the Sweetwater Springs series, this can be read as a stand alone novel. I need to catch up with this series as I really liked this book.
Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author, Annie Rains, for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.

Welcome (or welcome back) to Sweetwater Springs - this is the 6th book in ther series, but each one is a standalone novel. I have read a few of them, but not all, and I don't feel like I am missing out on any of the storyline by not having read them all, or even in any order. This story is set at Christmastime, on Granger's family Christmas Tree farm. Earlier in the year, there was a fire that took out part of their trees, so Granger is looking for creative ways to keep people coming out to the farm. He is also looking for someone to take care of his daughters, Willow and Abby, after their nanny has retired suddenly. Joy is looking for some extra money to get her dream of having an art studio up and off the ground, so she takes on being an "art tutor" for the girls.

Joy and Granger are both working through issues from past relationships, but are attracted to one another. The question is, can they get past their issues and start a future with each other?

I liked the characters in this story, and found it more realistic than some of the other holiday romances I read. I appreciate that this was not the kind of story that had the main characters pledging their undying love to each other after a few days of Christmas happiness.

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Another great book in the Sweetwater Springs series. Although part of a series this story can be read as a standalone story. If you've read the previous stories you know the background of the characters, but they're explained again in this story.

Granger and Joy each have tragic romances in their pasts. Granger wife disappeared after the birth of their youngest daughter while suffering from severe postpartum depression. He waited for her return at the family's tree farm until divorce papers were served to him. Joy's doctor fiance cheated on her with his nurse last Christmas. She lost the man and much more so Christmas isn't her favorite holiday.

They work together to help raise profits on the family farm after a devastating fire. As an artist, Joy is saving for her own art gallery. Add in recalcitrant parents, two scheming daughters, and a small town which results in a great Christmas romance to start your holiday reading.

I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinions.

Season of Joy was a sweet and cute holiday read. It was a light, easy, and entertaining with likable characters and fun scenes.

I liked Granger and Joy and enjoyed their building attraction. I liked that there were kids in the mix and thought they were sweet, I enjoyed what they brought to the story. It was an easy read for the most part with some really good scenes mixed in and sweet things happening, but it was all very light. It was fun and flirty with a nice slow burn happening.

Overall, I liked it, but didn’t feel fully connected and occasionally felt like I was missing details while reading. It wasn’t overly descriptive but there was enough to keep me interested. There was very light drama and angst, mostly it's just good clean fun. Bottom line, I liked it but didn’t love it but it had some really enjoyable qualities that kept me invested. A feel-good story for sure!

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever Pub for the complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Seasons of Joy by Annie Rains is fun Christmas romance perfect for the season. Joy Benson is an artist whose dream it is to open her own art gallery. She has managed to make a living through selling her work on Etsy and teaching art lessons but she has more ambitious long term goals. Granger is a single father with a Christmas tree farm struggling to recover financially from a fire that destroyed a lot of tree stock. Granger loses his nanny during that pivotal Christmas season and asks Joy to step in as a replacement nanny, or rather art teacher. And so begins our romance.

With Christmas trees, crafty art projects, small town atmosphere, and great cast of characters, Seasons of Joy is a fun holiday read. I loved the setting of the Christmas tree farm and the various activities they had going on there. Granger's two daughters are adorable as well.

If you are fan of small town Christmas romance this would be a great pick. If you are fan of steam, this title is definitely a fade into black romance.

Well now, this was perfect. I started reading this book on Halloween night, the same night that the book itself begins. What a lovely book to help me transition from one holiday to the next!

Joy is trying to save enough money to lease space for her art gallery. And Granger needs someone to watch his daughters while he works on his Christmas tree farm. I love the way Abby and Willow, his daughters, were written. They seem a perfect fit for their ages. Indeed, all of the supporting characters are well rounded and add to the story.

This was precisely the read I needed. It was sweet and merry and full of the holiday season. It even had a scene about Hallmark holiday movies, which felt utterly appropriate. If you are looking for a holiday romance with family at it's heart, look at Season of Joy.

I've been looking forward to reading Ganger's story and very much enjoyed it. It's a clean romance with no sex, which is refreshing. After many average books, it was good to finally read one that I truly enjoyed and was just what I needed to get me out of a kind of a slump.. I look forward to the next book next year, which sadly, I believe maybe the last book in the Sweetwater Springs series, but who knows!
