Annie Rains can do no wrong in my book. I really love how she writes small-town romance and Christmas books.
Her books will be featured in a Christmas Romance episode in the podcast. Annie has been a guest in the podcast a couple of times.

I gave this book 3 stars mainly because it reminded me of a Hallmark Christmas movie. While I can handle the tame hand holding and longing glances in those movies, I like a little more action in my romance novels. The MCs were cute together, and I liked their relationship for the most part. I liked the tree farm and the holidays as the back drop for the story. The girls were cute secondary characters, and I thought they added to the story. All in all, not my favorite, but I would read this author again.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

What an adorable Christmas romance! I'm loving these single dad stories. They always touch my heart. And having such great characters made this even better! If you're looking for a great Christmas romance, look no further than right here ❤ This is my first book by Annie Rains but it definitely won't be my last!

Well hellooooo new series for me! I am super excited to have read through all three holiday books in the Sweetwater Springs series in the past few days, and really enjoyed them! When I'm not focused on holiday books, I'll definitely be checking out the rest of the series!

Another great book by Annie Rains. It would make a good Hallmark movie. Joy who is an artist dreaming of owning her own art gallery. We also meet Granger who is trying to keep the family Christmas tree farm from going under as they had a fire and list too many trees. Granger has to many responsible ties and two of them are his daughter s. She holds a art class at the library and Grabbers daughters love it. Will Joy let herself get close to Granger or not ? Will Granger convince Joy to watch his girls ? Will this turn into a great Christmas for everyone? Thank you to Net Galley for allowing me to read and review this book.

This was a cute and heartwarming Christmas romance; my first book from Annie Rains but apparently the 6th installment in the Sweetwater Springs series. I will definitely be circling back to get caught up on all the others.
Joy, an artist, and Granger, a Christmas tree farmer, are total opposites but they connect in their small town when Joy teaches an art class at the tree farm and also helps take care of Granger's two adorable little girls.
With relatable and reliable characters, a cute setting and some closed door romance, this is a must read to help get you into the holiday spirit.

This book is comprised of Season of Joy with a bonus novella The Christmas Wish by Melinda Curtis.

Season of Joy is the 6th book in the Sweetwater Springs series. It's the first I've read from this author. I had not read any of the previous books in the series, but I didn't need to. This book can definitely be read as a stand alone. It was a very sweet holiday romance. So refreshing to have the drama kept to a minimum, where mature adults actually talk instead of assuming or misunderstanding and running away. I recommend to anyone looking for a feel good Christmas story. There is a trigger for miscarriage/ectopic pregnancy.

The Christmas Wish

This is the first book (#0.5) in the Sunshine Valley series. I have already read the second book in this series, and right away recognized that this was a familiar storyline to me.
It was a cute, short, romantic Christmas story and although the story progressed extremely fast and had me rolling my eyes just a little, I still enjoyed the story.

Thank you to Netgalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I always give the Annie Rains Christmas novels a shot, however they are never really that great. They are always a little too long in my opinion. Love the cover though.

This was my first book by Annie Rains and it won't be my last. While this is the 6th book in the series, I didn't feel as if I was missing any information by not reading the earlier books. However, i do plan to go back and read the earlier books in the series to learn more about the characters we glimpse in this close knit town.

With the attention to detail in describing the tree farm, I felt as if I was there walking among the trees and peeking in on Joy's art projects. I loved the play on words in the title to both describe the joy of the holiday season and this being the season of Joy (the main character). The story was believable, heartwarming and a perfect book to start the holiday season. I loved the possessive cat in the story. If you are looking for a steamy romance, this isn't it. Season of Joy has some kisses but is very G to maybe PG at the most with only the barest hint of something occurring behind closed doors. This isn't normally my type of romance, but the descriptions of the location made up for it for me.

Season of Joy was such a fun, festive read, and I had a blast joining Forever's readalong! Give me all the romances with single dads, because Granger was the sweetest. A Christmas tree farm? Seriously, I'm in love! This book was such a delightful read. The relationship between Granger and Joy was so cute and the Granger's kids were well written. This book was exactly what I needed this holiday season!

Complementary copy given for honest review and opinion. This book pulled on my heart strings. I loved the history and the promise of the future that this book provided. A mother going through postpartum depression gave a real deep feel to the emotions.

I am definitely in the minority here, but I found this book very meh. I ended up skimming a lot of it because I wasn’t loving the characters or the story and quite frankly I was bored. I appreciated that Joy made art her focus and was determined to make it as an artist, but it drove me nuts how she was constantly judging Granger; I’m not even really sure why she liked him other than he was good looking, and it wasn't clear to me why he liked her either. I feel like this would work great as a Hallmark movie - it would be cute and fun, especially with the kids and the animals - but as a book, the characters were too shallow and I had trouble connecting with them in any way. Joy and Granger also felt a lot older than they were, as did Granger’s girls, which kind of threw me off. Overall this wasn’t for me, but from the rave reviews I’ve seen, I’m thinking it’s a ‘me’ thing or a ‘wrong time’ thing.

This is a delightful Christmas book by this author. This is the first book I have read by this author and will definitely find her other books to read.

Single dad of two daughters, Christmas tree farmer, Granger Fields, meets Joy Benson, an artist looking to acquire her own gallery. Each is trying to grow their businesses, he after a devastating fire to the family farm and Joy trying to get enough money together, work together to achieve these goals.

Love, former relationships, trying to gain parental approval for their work, all are part of this book.

This is a delightful book you do not want to miss with your holiday reading. I enjoyed it very much and highly recommend it. Thanks to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for the copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

This is a sweet story of learning to trust again and taking another chance on love. I enjoyed reading Granger and Joy’s story. There were times I wanted to give their relationship a little push in the right direction, especially when it came to Joy’s struggle to trust her heart again. Granger’s young daughters, Abby and Willow, added much to this story. The setting of the Christmas tree farm is perfect, and gives this book its Christmas glow. This is a small town, Hallmark movie-worthy story. It’s my first one to read from this author, and I’ll be looking for more books from her.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
