EverAfter is a graphic novel featuring the apocalypse, zombies a dystopian future and one main protagonists. Its epic, it looks awesome and there's secrets the main character is hiding.
I adore the art style and colouring used throughout. Zombies used to be my favourite genre of anything that could ever be made and this hits lots of those points I used to love about the genre. It has a main protagonist who is struggling with something, cool looking zombies and the hard ass strong friend.
Also the aesthetic is brilliant. .
Olivia has a raw way with writing this story to tug on your heartstrings with simple images of a baby dummy or the sadness of a friend saving your life. The story is not too in depth but some of the words are so poetic. The ending poem speaks to my soul.

A rather beautiful zombie story, if that's even possible. The illustrations are wonderfully composed with lots of vivid colours - as opposed to the washed-out, dark, grayish brown style often used with that genre. The zombies are present but not overly so, and even they show a certain kind of beauty, especially when Eva starts showing signs of her infection literally growing over her body. Vivi is struggling with the loss of her sister which she feels guilty of. Together, the two girls travel through the country, and on their way not only become friends, but each of them also reluctantly comes to terms with her individual fate. This graphic novel is about the living rather than the living dead, and despite the grim premise, the colorful artwork made it hard to not remain hopeful for the outcome. A wonderful and original interpretation of and addition to the zombie genre.

This is not your usual dystopic zombie read. This is some deep sh*t.
The atmosphere is overwhelming. And the characters are complicated.
It's been a couple years since the dead refused to die. Now society is trying to reorganize.
Vivi lives in some kind of asylum and has some serious psychological issues. Eve works for the city and is tired of everything.
When a zombie attack goes terribly wrong, both our characters leave their town in a train and an unexpected friendship begins.
But the zombies are weirder than expected, and the plot is not much of an adventure as it is a journey of mental healing and growth.
And the ending is ambiguous and a little uncomfortable, but in a good way? I don't know, it was a good and fast read for this pandemic times. It gives hope in a hopeless way.

I really enjoyed this graphic novel, I feel like Vieweg did a good job of fleshing (haha, pun intended) her characters without doing it tooooo much. Plus it's an intriguing take on the zombie genre. I hope that she'll introduce more to this world as I'd like to know more about it. Overall, definitely recommend.

I liked this comic, mostly, the images were nice and the colouring beautiful but the story and the pace of the comic was confusing . I often thought I had accidentally skipped pages or misread frames as it skipped from one section to another without any indication of what was going on. I liked the idea of the flower zombies , but I was confused if they were the same as the normal zombies or something more. I think a little more explanation would have made this flow a little better. Also I was not keen on the font , it just didn’t seem to fit with the comic. With the art and colours so muted the start and bold text made it jump out of the page starkly , although this made it easier to read it was a little distracting.

Very soft color work for the illustrations, a bit too soft for me, but it match the story so it was relevant do to it this way. The story is mostly soft, even if some parts, one in the end in particular, caught me of guard. It’s wen darker than I expected to go which i did enjoy, I obviously didn’t read the warnings in the front of the book.

I was really confused at the beginning and I wish we would’ve gotten more information about the actual zombies and how everything with them worked, I also wish the world was a bit more built it felt like I was jumping in halfway through the book. I wanted to be shown the world and why this is happening. It’s got a big jumpy for my tastes I kept thinking I had missed pages.

Overall enjoyable read, the art work had its moment, but I wouldn’t go out my way to continue or pick up the book. Unfortunately a miss but if yours looking for something a little gory, post apocalyptic with good character you should give it a try.

Ever After is an evocative tale of 2 heroine’s journey for help in a post apocalyptic world full of zombies. The mechanics of the situation are frustratingly vague, but this is a story focused more so on the mental & emotional situation of this new normal.
The art has a sketchy simplicity similar to Emily Carroll’s work. The saturated colors give depth and beauty to everything from overgrown landscapes to bloody scenes of cannibalism. Where the art has brevity, the nuanced emotional story quietly crescendos into a “walking off into the sunset” kind of ending. It’s violent and does not shy away from themes of mental illness, but it’s surprisingly poetic in a quiet philosophical subtext of post trauma & regret that asks “where do we go from here?”

This is a zombie apocalypse, journey story set in Germany.

Vivian is sad about losing her sister to zombies. Eva is changing into a plant thing.

And they are trying to get to a new city, because reasons.

It is also not clear if the transformation into a plant creature is part of becoming a zombie, or if it a different transformation completely.

I'm not sure if anything was lost in the translation, but I was confused. While I liked the suddenness of the zombies coming, and how people mistook what was happening, as they would, the rest of the story was just people running from zombies, and I always find those type of stories on the dull side.

There's a warning at the beginning of this book for mental illness and graphic violence, and it quickly became clear why. It was necessary to the story though, seeing as there were zombies to fight. Besides that, I loved the colors the artist used. The flowers and the landscapes were so beautiful!

The story progressed a little fast for me sometimes, making it hard to follow. I had to look back at earlier pages sometimes to see if I missed anything. It wasn't entirely clear how the whole zombie thing worked. Are they chasing humans? Can they sometimes be reasoned with? This pulled me out of the story a little bit.
Still, it also adds to the sense of confusion and fear the main character Vivi has.

All in all it's a nice graphic novel to read if you're into zombie apocalypse stories!

For some reason, I thought this would be less serious and sad than it was, which is 100% on me and not the author! I think it really captures the essence of a dystopian world with its hopelessness and sadness and anger, and if this had been a bigger series I would probably have rated it a bit higher! I just felt like it could have been even more, and that some parts of the story weren't really explored which also made me a bit confused. Overall a good graphic novel, though, and I would recommend it!

Really interesting zombie graphic novel. A lot of the tropes of the zombie genre are here, but it was made fresh by the art style which is very cute and cartoonish which makes for a really unsettling contrast with the depressing post-zombie apocalypse society and the outbreaks of violence. The themes of loss (and how we deal with it) and friendship were also interesting, as were the biological/ecological implications of this strain of the zombie plague.

I adored this graphic novel, though the art style took a few pages to get into. I wish Goodreads allowed half stars as this was a 4.5 read.
I was surprised at how, though it was short, I really loved Vivi and Eva. Graphic novels generally have less time to make their characters believable but Vieweg did a fantastic job. Vivi especially stood out to me as a layered character.
The zombies or the apocalypse aren't really explained but this meant that the story was free to be intriguing without getting bogged down in explanations. It just was.
I found myself satisfied with the length of their story, while also wanting more of the world. I'd happily read more.

The two protagonists – Vivi and Eva – where well developed characters, each with their own internal conflict that showed me that it is okay not be okay. Vivi blames herself for her sister’s death; this is something that has remained with her since the beginning. Meanwhile, Eva, after seeing and experiencing the new horrors of the world – is starting to transform into something there is no return from. Despite their inner troubles, Vivi’s and Eva’s friendship blossoms into something neither of them will forget or replace. I felt connected to Vivi and Eva throughout the book, which is something that I don’t always do when reading graphic novels due to their general shorter length.

The trigger warnings are a reminder of the struggles the characters have faced and will continue to do so. Gore, violence, death (of a child), and every horrid thing you would expect to find within a zombie apocalypse.

It took me a little bit to find this book! Turns out it's not in English on Goodreads lol.

I read the description of this one and I was very excited. I'm usually not very into horror or gore however I thought I would give this one a try.

The story follows Vivi and Eva, two characters both looking into fleeing the city. One problem though, there is an apocalypse happening at the same time which means at any time they can get bitten by zombies or get mauled by whatever lives at their feet.

I really enjoyed this story so far. I'm very glad that there was a disclaimer because I low-key wasn't prepared for all of that, but I really loved it so I'm happy I got to read this. The story progreses well and it really gives a good glimpse at the character's life before everything hits the fan.
I thought it was a super interesting read and I might look more into the author of this one :D

I hadn’t read the synopsis before going into this so I had zero idea that this was about zombies and what happens after an apocalypse. Overall, I liked it. It was definitely creepy and gave me that shiver down my spine at certain moments and the art work kept my attention.

I was really confused at the beginning and I wish we would’ve gotten more information about the actual zombies and how everything with them worked.

Overall, this was just okay.
