Aspiring clothes designer Victoria Scott spends her days working in a bar in Chelsea, and her evenings designing vintage clothes, dreaming of one day opening her own boutique. But these aspirations are under threat from the new department store opening at the end of her road. She needs a Christmas miracle, but one is not forthcoming. Oliver Russell’s Christmas is not looking very festive right now. His family’s new London department store opening is behind schedule, and on top of that his interfering, if well meaning, mother is pressing him to introduce his girlfriend to her. A girlfriend who does not exist. He needs a diversion. Something to keep his mother from interfering while he focuses on the business. When Oliver meets Victoria, he offers a proposition: pretend to be his girlfriend at the opening of his store and he will provide an opportunity for Victoria to showcase her designs. But what starts as a business arrangement soon becomes something more tempting, as the fake relationship starts to feel very real. But when secrets in Victoria’s past are exposed will Oliver walk away, or will they both follow their hearts and find what neither knew they were looking for.

Oh I simply love a cosy, wintery romance. Even though I read this during summer, I still felt cosy and snuggled throughout the read. The book really feels like a hug and it was just a pure joy to read. So I was a bit wary of reading this, especially around whether the writing style would be decent. I need not have feared, this is well written, easy to read and at the end of the day, when the plot is this charming does it really matter.

The plot is simply lovely, very festive and nicely balanced against life events and the emotion and angst that comes with this. The plot is not full of twists and is obvious but it does not matter when it leaves you feeling happy and satisfied that you have read a charming romance. Sometimes all you need is a bit of happiness.

The characters are wonderful too, very likeable, realistic and I shared their enthusiasm and joy for their lives. Victoria and her friends felt like mine by the end of the read and Oliver is just a great character whom I could envisage.

'Meet Me In London' is the perfect winter romance. Get snuggled up and cosy with this joy of a read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Mills & Boon for an advance copy.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started reading this book but I really enjoyed it! I found the character of Victoria extremely likeable and the story was engaging, if not a little predictable. There was real chemistry between Oliver and Victoria from the start. Christmassy romance at its finest and set in London with some beautiful descriptive paragraphs which had me almost feeling like I was actually there. Some of the paragraphs felt perhaps a little too descriptive and didn’t flow as easily but overall I would highly recommend this book for a welcome bit of escapism in the current climate.

A good, well written read as a change from my psychological thrillers, all the characters were well developed and the story flowed well.

Thank you to Netgalley and Mills & Boon for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

A great example of a book of this genre. It not only deals with the romantic side of the story but with the importance of friendships. The characters are well rounded and you feel as if you know them. A perfect book to curl up beside a fire and read on an autumn evening.

It took me a couple of chapters to get into this book (I hate start new books), but it was worth it. I felt like I was in London with them, so vivid are the setting descriptions. I loved the characters and could relate to Victoria especially. There were a number of errors that need editing, although I may well have read a draft rather than a final edition. A great beach read. Well done, Toff!

Some twists and turns and secrets but a lovely feel good Christmassy read.

When Victoria met Oliver she knew they were meant to be together but what was keeping them apart? One very big secret that could not be overlooked. A lovely addictive love story with added secrets.

Toff’s bubbly personality really comes through in this book, and I enjoyed reading it.
Oliver and Victoria strike a deal which will benefit both of them, both are warm, likeable characters, although Oliver does seem to allow his overbearing mother to rule his life. Oliver’s father is ill and his mother would like to see him settled in life. Victoria agrees to a ‘pretend’ relationship, but wants nothing more serious due to an accident which happened several years ago.
As the story unfolds, the sizzling chemistry between the charismatic couple leaps off the page amidst lots of mishaps and humour. This is light hearted romantic escapism at its best. Georgia Toffolo’s dialogue is crisply entertaining, keeping you absorbed in the story without being overly sentimental.
Although the increasing love interest between Oliver and Victoria is the main focus, relationships with Oliver’s family and Victoria’s long-standing friends feature throughout. Also, some serious issues are explored along the way. A great all-rounder, this is a richly entertaining book to enjoy. Highly recommended, or in Toff’s dialogue ‘a freakin’ good read’!

Loved it!

I'm a thriller girl through and through, but every now and again I like a good girly read. Something light, and fresh. This was that book, and I was not disappointed!

Everyone loves a good Mills and Boon, and the fact it was Georgia Toffolo writing it was also a plus on the cheese scale.... Or so I thought. It was actually a really good, thoughtful read. I enjoyed the story - it's been done before in some form or another, but the way it was written was fresh and exciting - I enjoyed the characters and the way they interacted with each other. Some deeper things are touched upon, but not enough to drag the book down, it stays light and charming right through to the end.

I would 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a bit of an escape and innocent, heart warming fun.

Fantastic. With all Victoria had gone through in her life to this point, it’s nice to see her open up and accept some good into her life. Oliver is just the man, lovely story well told and a great first book looking forward to reading the next.

Meet me in London

I really enjoyed this book. It was a nice easy book to read with good characters and a bit of background history and a bit of angst!.
I am hoping that the author goes on to write books about Vicki’s friends because I would like to know their stories.
Altogether a fun book to read

This book has all the makings to be a perfect Hallmark-style Christmas movie! I don't actually often read books set in London (I'm not sure why) but I loved the way everything was described in this. You can tell the author is pulling from her world into this book and everything was vividly described so I could easily picture everything.

I loved that Victoria was a fashion designer and teaching teenagers about fashion as I haven't read many books with this included and you could quite quickly tell how passionate she was about it. Oliver is working in his family business, think a department store like Selfridges, and from the beginning, you can tell he isn't as passionate about it like Victoria is about her life. But from their first meeting, I could feel through the page their connection which I don't find to happen in every romance book I read.

They start to fake date to help out Oliver mainly as his father is really sick and his parents really want him to settle down. I loved that it was the guy with this pressure as usually, it's women who experience it. And of course, once they start to fake date, real feelings get involved! They both are struggling with things that get revealed as you read.

This was a solid debut and if you are a fan of Toff, I would recommend checking this out on release day in October! I love all of the festive, cute vibes. Victoria and Oliver as such likeable characters and I will definitely read whatever Toff writes next!

A great first book from Georgia Toffolo.

Victoria and Oliver meet when he stops for a drink in the bar she works at. As the story unfolds, Victoria agrees to be Oliver's fake fiance in order to keep his family happy. As they get to know each other, they both realise that they have feelings for each other.

This book was well written and easy reading. I couldn't put it down and I could see this as a British Rom Com movie.

Thanks to Net Galley for the opportunity to read this book, in exchange for an honest review.

I rather enjoyed this light, fluffy romance. It was rather predictable and typical of this genre but had a bit more depth than lots. Interesting, likeable characters and a happy ending - what more could you want?

I can’t believe how amazing this book is. I loved every page and want to know more about each of the characters.

It was such a lighthearted book and everything the world needs right now. Well done Toff.

This book was just a sheer pleasure to read. The main character Victoria is just so likeable and I loved the descriptions of her dressmaking and haberdashery shopping missions; this is my own personal interest but it is also very popular with many women currently. Oliver was an immediately likeable hero too, straightforward and honest with no bullying alpha-male tendencies which is a relief as in too many novels the man can be too domineering. I liked the friendship element too and will look forward to reading the stories of the other girls if they areas readable as this one. This is an ideal novel to read in the run up to Christmas as it is seasonal without being over the top and gives you that warm sentimental feeling that everyone needs at that time of year. Thoroughly recommended and very giftable to friends who like reading happy books!
